Having brunch at Morning Bloom was a pleasant experience. Literally, nestled within a cozy location within Allendale, just the walk up to the entrance was enjoyable, as you'll see in my photos. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the hard working staff were non-stop, satisfying the fully-commited attendance. Thank goodness that I made reservations, which I highly suggest, or else you're going to probably have a double digit wait time. I was very impressed with the serving sizes and the freshness of their ingredients. I also appreciated how they placed the salad that accompanied my omelet in a separate bowl. The entrees were: Truffle Infused Wild Mushroom Omelette (wild mushrooms, shaved parmesan, roasted potato hash, and a side salad). Every bite was filled with every ingredient and this item is highly recommended. Whiskey Burger (8 Oz. beef patty, double cut bacon, apple jack barbecue sauce, sharp cheddar cheese, pickle, caramelized onions). This burger was juicy, throughout, and the sweet potato fries side was heavenly salty. The last entree was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (whipped ricotta, lemon zest, fresh fruit and berries). My soulmate and I continued our 7 year anniversary by having brunch at this cute restaurant on Sunday, 5/31. For those that like to dine outside, they have beautiful outdoor seating. There are only 6 to 7 spaces in the parking lot, so you might want to find a spot up the road at the mini mart. The decor is very nice on the inside, too, but the chairs are situated very close together. The staff is amazing. They answered all of our questions about the menu, and they delivered our drinks and dishes with a smile every time. Most importantly, the food is delicious. My soulmate is not a fan of salad, but he really enjoyed the apple and pear salad. I ordered the Mac and Cheese, and we both agreed, it was the best we ever had. He was raving about the burger with the mozzarella cheese and roasted peppers. I was lucky he shared a quarter of his burger with me. We did not have any room for dessert. The first time I went and had breakfast here, I couldn't wait to come back and eat again: the food was phenomenon! And so, after arriving from Denver to New Jersey this past week, I insisted that we come and eat here again. What a disappointment meal my family and I had, and I will not set my foot in this restaurant again. The staff were very nice and friendly. As we were seated, we were given the daily specials along with their regular menu. To start our meals, we decided to try their lemon flavor doughnut. For $11 and just six donut holes, I would skip this starter item. Although there's nothing wrong with these donut holes, I thought the price for them was way too much for 6 holes, and it wasn't worth the money that we paid. Next, other than the kids pancakes, we three diners decided to order their specials: steak omelette, the brisket breakfast, and the pumpkin pancakes. My steak omelette started with some good bites, but the more I ate, the more I wanted some sort of sauce (salsa maybe?) to balance the plain and lack of/no flavored omelette. Talking about flavors, my daughter gave me a piece the brisket from her order, and it was so bland that my son-in-law had to add salt in order to give the brisket some "savory" flavor. What we liked the most was the pumpkin pancakes. We thought they did a great job with this dish. However, there wasn't anything special about it because you can get this dish anywhere and it would be good, according to my son-in-law who orders this dish a lot. I also ordered the cappuccino, and that drink failed. I only sipped 1/3 of this coffee and couldn't force myself to drink anymore. Overall, I was let down by the people who cooked our dishes today. For 3 main entrées, pancakes for a toddler, a starter of 6 donut holes, 2 coffees and one black iced tea, the total including tax and tip was almost $150. I don't mind paying for good food, but as I mentioned, this restaurant disappointed me so much that I had to write this review. I wonder what other diners thought of their food this morning here, because the place was 95% packed. And so, the atmosphere was filled with people talking and eating. I wonder though: were they really enjoying their food? Or, were they just going through the motion and eat just because it's there? This one reviewer will probably know the answer. read more

We were first timers to Morning Bloom. The place is so cute. Love the decor! It is a casual place. The was pretty good. Our party had a mix between brunch items and dessert. The service was good, the only downfall was that I believe she entered my order in wrong that our entire table of food came and I was almost given something I didn't order then had to wait for my meal to be made. The servers are very nice and payed careful attention to our long list of adjustments we requested to menu items. I ordered the salad with apples and pears. It was missing the cranberries and had about a teaspoon or so of farro in the salad and there were Barely any walnuts and pears. Although the dish was very fresh, the chicken I added was tender and the dressing was delicious. They just need to put more toppings that were described to make it excellent. Very big on brunch places and this has got to be a place you definitely want to try. The food was exceptional, but the service is what made this place over top on my list of places for brunch. The owner has two other restaurants across the street from what I was told. All of them amazing restaurants, Mezza and Allendale steakhouse which we frequent there quite often. They all have private parking which is great because when Allendale gets busy at night during dinner hours, you'll have a hard time finding parking. The ambiance of Morning Bloom is nicely and elegantly decorated like the other restaurants. There's a huge cherry blossom in the middle of the dining area and tables surrounding. Nice touch. There's not a lot of tables inside, however, if you don't mind the weather there's ample seats outside the restaurant. The host got a table inside right away with my party of 10. The waitress was friendly and accommodating knowing that half of our table consisted of children. She knew to get us kid cups with kids which is a nice touch. read more

My fiancé and I we're very hungry and decided to come to a local breakfast spot that we heard great reviews about we sit down and the waitress is already in a bad mood for no reason we order a meal after 20 minutes of waiting when we've been decided and staring at them waiting for them to come. once we did order 30 minutes later, we got our food and you know what we only got two out of the four things we ordered. We didn't get the toast that we ordered. We didn't get our fries. We didn't get our bacon until after we asked, even though we already ordered it. Keep in mind they would walk by us without filling our water until the Manager or older guy would say something just very rude and unprofessional. They have a huge outdoor patio as well which in nice weather is probably lovely to be out on. I got their truffle infused mushroom omelette and it was delicious. There were so many mushrooms throughout and the truffle flavor really came through. The rye bread I got was also extremely fresh tasting. The hash brown potatoes were good as well although they were slightly mushy and under salted. Regardless the dish as a whole was great and the prices there were very reasonable. I mean wow! This place is gorgeous. Went here for brunch the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The decor, the ambience, is everything you're looking for for brunch. But then, the food!!! I was blown away. The food was amazing, very delicious. The service was excellent. I will be returning over and over. I can't believe I did not know about this gem. Had lunch today at Morning Bloom and it was a wonderful. We live in the area and have known the location through different idenities but I think it has finally found its true self. First off the place is beautiful and clean. The staff was extremly friendly without being over the top. We recocnized the owner and help from other restaurants in the group and they couldnt be more warm and welcoming. Of course the food is the most important part of this and it didn't disapoint. I had a gyro sandwich which was filled with fresh vegies and delish tzacki sauce that complemented the beautiful and very tasty lamb slices. My wife had the Chicken pot pie that she loved. Unique flavor of truffles and fresh ingredients was wonderful. They have the formula down and I expect this be a great long time addition to the Allendale food scene. My friend and I went to Morning Bloom today for breakfast and were very happy with our experience! Service was fairly quick, and atmosphere was lovely. We made a reservation for 9:30 just in case, and while we don't think we needed it for that time, you'd definitely need it after 10 AM. We both got oat milk lattes which I genuinely enjoyed, just wish it was a larger serving! The egg white power omelette was very good and the potatoes that came with it were well seasoned. My friend and I also split the lemon ricotta pancakes.......incredible. Perfectly fluffy and the whipped ricotta added a nice balance with a little syrup. We will be back! read more

Was quite excited to try out a new restaurant. Menu looked very appealing, reviews were quite excellent as well. Was immediately put off by the very bad covers of pop songs playing on the patio, I know it's trivial but they were quite insufferable. You can tell that the place was an old steakhouse - very dark interior with lots of fake plants and flowers. We were not impressed by the lack of drink options. They did not have any kind of skim/low-fat milk (only whole) and there were no syrups for the coffee. We opted for the iced tea and arnold palmer - both fine but overpriced for what it was. My party of 3 ordered the bacon egg and cheese sliders, the mac n cheese bowl, the lemon ricotta pancakes, and the eggs benedict. The bacon egg and cheese sliders looked nice at first but were rather abysmal. They came with frittatas that had peppers and mushrooms (not listed on the menu) and had a singular tiny piece of bacon. The buns were tepid and dry. The entire slider was underseasoned and bland. We told the restaurant staff that the sliders were not as expected (because of the peppers) and they politely took them off our bill. The mac n cheese bowl was nice but very plain, could have done with some seasoning. Eggs benedict was nice but also very standard. Hollandaise was very bland. Potato hash on the side had peppers and onions (not listed on the menu) but was quite nice. Lemon ricotta pancakes were nice but very underwhelming. The side of whipped ricotta was unnecessary - I would opt for a whipped cream/ricotta mix instead of straight ricotta on the side. The overall service and restaurant staff were very nice. But for a place that advertises itself as a high end and elevated breakfast spot, this place severely underdelivered. Simple tweaks to the menu and preparation could quickly elevate this restaurant. With a lot of competition from some high end brunch places nearby, it will be hard for them to carve a space in the market. Came in with high expectations, left disappointed. read more

My husband and I visited this café early on a weekday morning, hoping to enjoy a relaxing start to our day. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. Despite only one other customer in the café and two staff members on duty, attentive service was noticeably lacking. We repeatedly had to wave and call out - for a beverage refill and again to ask a simple question, which made us feel overlooked rather than welcomed. The inattentiveness of the staff turned what should have been a pleasant visit into a frustrating and disappointing experience. LOVE this place!! We've been several times, including this past Sunday after my friend and I finished the JC half marathon for a post-race brunch! I had the grilled salmon salad, and while it was nicely presented, the salmon was overcooked, the "candied" walnuts weren't candied, and the portion of quinoa was so small I could barely see it. Actually, I'm not sure it was even there. It also came with minuscule pieces of apple and sweet potato. This place is basically elevated/gourmet diner, and to be clear I mean that in the best way. The breakfast menu is basically some form of eggs with something else mixed in it, pancakes, and French toast, and it is all amazing! The breakfast potatoes have actual proper spicing to them, the eggs are properly cooked and not bone dry, the pancakes are fluffy and the Ricotta topping is so fresh tasting.
