Brunch with my family for my birthday was absolutely perfect at Mami! Hands down, the eggplant chips were the best and a MUST order when visiting. I also loved the shakshuka, hummus, and breakfast pita. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Absolutely will be back again soon! Today I went for lunch at this place, which I really like for its architecture and interior design. I used to come here years ago, but it seems they have new owners and the menu has changed slightly; it remains Mediterranean cuisine . I really liked the old venue and staff, but the new staff, new owners, and food are excellent--I give it a 10 out of 10. The owner welcomed me warmly and calmly, and showed me to my table. The entire staff treated me wonderfully--especially Melly, my waitress today, who had a great smile. The young woman who brought my food was very kind, as was the young man who brought my coffee. Everything--from the coffee and the "Mami" breakfast to the Nutella Cro-nut I took home--looked like it was made with love. The coffee (an Americano) was delicious. As for the breakfast--the "Mami" breakfast--the Jerusalem bagel blew me away because it was freshly made. Overall, the food was a 10 out of 10. The restaurant itself--a wooden cabin with both indoor and outdoor seating--is beautiful. Prices are fair, and portions are generous. The entire restaurant was very clean. I will certainly be back to try more dishes. Congratulations to the whole staff, and blessings to you all. It was a pleasure to see the place full. So disappointed that this place is no longer what used to be the Farmhouse. The newly renovated interior is clean and chic, but the quality and choice of food is so unsatisfactory. The Shashuka.... Again very personal opinion .... Used to go better with the warm pita bread rather than the cold and dry challah. The Schnitzel sandwich also. The fries with alioli was another disappointment. The fries were soooo regular and not even fried properly to give it crispy texture. Just bland .... Visited this place twice and honestly, I don't think I would be recommending Mami to others... read more

Mmmm.... challah bread.... Came here for brunch. The shakshuka is probably the best I've had in Bergen County, packed with flavor, perfectly poached eggs, just the right amount of spice, and, best of all, paired with a large, delicious loaf of challah bread. They also have a lot of other Mediterranean options, including hummus and wraps which my family enjoyed. They also have mac and cheese and french fries for the kids. The mac and cheese had little balls of pasta rather than macaroni noodles, but definitely tasted like mac and cheese. The french fries tasted like french fries. The ambiance is nice, bright and airy, and the waitstaff was attentive. The restaurant has a little parking lot. Don't park in the lot next door, there are copious signs saying you will get towed. read more

Went to Mami for a second time, this time with family for a weekend lunch. I made a reservation to ensure we don't have to wait for a table and we got one right away. It was cozy and warm, with cool snowy view outside. This time I tried some other items from the menu starting with Labneh, an appetizer made with soft yogurt cheese, olive oil and tomatoes. It looked so pretty. It came with one pita, the additional pitas ordered later were not. The mami burger with egg on top was amazing. The chicken shawarma wrap was so delicious. Loved the Rimonada lemonade as well, got multiple refills of it. Our server was friendly. All our food came in time. Checkout was fast and easy. During the whole time, all tables were full of guests. Delicious! This restaurant set up a kiosk at the Tenafly street market fair and it was impressive. The street market was fantastic with live entertainment and various vendors. But the restaurant and its very friendly and courteous staff served up a fantastic dish. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon. read more

I love middle Eastern food. Second time here and they're still working kinks out but mostly good. Big fan of the chicken schnitzel sandwich (first time I ordered it on second day took 45 minutes plus execution was off with a small Israeli salad with lots of juices ruining the bread sandwich when I got home) . Went back today for leisurely lunch and it was lots better. Unexoected surprise were the eggplant chips with honey siracchai. Phenomenally delicious. I thought hummus would be super good but didn't bowl me over but pitas were big and fluffy and delicious. Chicken schnitzel was very solid, great crunch and flavor. Service was solid. Mami is an absolute standout! Every single dish is fantastic, no misses. First of all, major appreciation for serving Coke Zero (it matters!). The fries are unreal; think elevated McDonald's fries: perfectly crisp, addictive, and impossible to stop eating. The burger (must be ordered rare with cheese) is easily in my top three favorite burgers of all time. It's that good. The steak frites are excellent, cooked beautifully and deeply satisfying. The arais are absolutely perfect, and the falafel balls are outstanding; crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The salads deserve special attention. The fattoush is the clear standout; so creative, fresh, and memorable. And whatever she does to that labneh... it's truly mouthwatering. The Caesar salad and Caesar wraps are also delicious and executed flawlessly. If I had one tiny wish, it would be for a dessert menu with a few lighter, less-sweet options. I personally love Asian-style desserts with more subtle sweetness and fun flavors; something like black sesame. A black sesame halva sundae would be absolutely perfect and would fit beautifully with the rest of the menu. Overall, Mami is exceptional--thoughtful, delicious food across the board, done at a seriously high level. A must-visit, and a place we keep coming back to. read more

Service was terrible. Asked for something simple like coffee with sugar, but got lukewarm coffee with no sugar on the table or brought to me with the coffee. Had to ask multiple times for different things and had so much trouble asking since service was so slow. Last minute Valentines Day dinner with my love and we are glad we chose Mami. Immediately warmly greeted by a woman we later found to be the owner and quickly brought to our table. The service was VERY GOOD - helpful with explanations of dishes and recommendations. Everything we ordered was delicious and well amd heard more about how the restaurant came to be. Today is the last straw. I've been to this new eatery 3 times, giving the place the benefit of the doubt. The third time is the charm. CAVEAT EMPTOR. I paid $29.00 for Steak & Eggs and received a teenie-weenie slab of sliced meat and two eggs. I opted for a salad over the fries. I ordered the steak medium well and received it medium rare. I ordered Saratoga still water and paid $10 for the regular bottle. We had two servers, one to take the order and one to actually bring us the meal. The order taker server came back to ask us if we wanted more coffee or anything else, when we hadnt had coffee. Totally disengaged. In summary, the place is overpriced for what we received and the help needs to smarten up. Finally, the cardinal sin sealed the deal. The floor manager brought us the Saratoga water already opened. Always open special orders in front of the customer. It had us second guessing the tap water to the Saratoga. Some people blindly pay for whatever. We wont anymore, at least not at Mami's. read more
