This is a small town Italian delicatessen that has been a staple in the area since the 31 years I've been working in town. Everything is made fresh on premises. I was going there with the intent of getting a meatball sandwich but then noticed that they've added a Buffalo Chicken sandwich to their menu and I couldn't resist. Chicken was fresh as always. Just a little bit of lettuce and ranch on it. Actually the perfect ratio. Heat factor was done right. Now too spicy but enough to keep the lips tingling afterwards. Today, I ordered two sandwiches from a place I have always thought made amazing sandwiches. Never had a terrible sandwich until today. Turkey and American cheese sandwich I think is a total joke. 1/4 lb. of turkey on a full sub is a joke. If you order here make sure you ask for extra meat. I ordered a Italian sub for myself and added "extra spicy relish " as that's the only thing they have to make sandwiches spicy. I told him I want extra relish because I want my sandwich spicy and what was put in might as well be a joke. Again quality is great place is super clean inside. But their sandwiches game is amazingly terrible but friendly staff. I'm sure they do very well but this is a joke will never go here again. If I could give zero stars I would. I paid $8 for a small chicken sandwich and I asked for the chicken sliced on the sandwich. Easy request and should not have been an issue. The owner said she could not slice the chicken because of COVID and then when I questioned her she said it was because it was too busy. #terriblecustomerservice. La Strada seems to be more concerned with selling lunches than having customers back. Shameful for a neighborhood market. Never an issue at The Market Basket no matter how busy they are. read more

Decent place for sandwiches, but the prepared foods are lacking. for one thing, there is very little variety. No matter how many times I go there I see the same dishes. How many times can you eat broccoli rabe? There are other green vegetables. They should expand their menu with some variety. For another more serious negative, they keep food around too long. La Strada used to be one of my favorite places to visit. The sandwiches were so fresh and plentiful. Went back recently and they were good but I think the place is under new ownership and it's lost its charm. The menu doesn't look as enticing as it used to. I think they specialize in catering now? Service was fast and friendly and I will definitely be back to try one of their famous italian subs. In all fairness, I got a chicken cutlet sandwich with swiss, honey mustard and ham. I have been going here for 20 years when ever i am in the area. Well I read a sign today that i never saw before. Add pricka proka to a sandwich to spice it up for FREE. So being a picky eater, i asked if i could have it on the side. The girl told me if it is on the side, she would have to charge me. Didnt make any sense to me but i said okay and i only wanted just a little bit to try. So that is what she gave me and then charged me almost 2 dollars. What a rip off. The sandwiches are already expensive for what you get. Probably why there was no one in the place. Years ago you needed to take a number, it was so busy. How things change. read more

I received (5) $10 coupons for this Deli as a gift. When my wife went to redeem one of the coupons after purchasing an $8 sandwich, the owner graciously gave her a $2 refund. The next day I went to purchase another sandwich with a second gift coupon the employee refused to give me a $2 refund or credit. The employee stated I had to spend over $10 to use a coupon gift coupon. I'm not sure if this is illegal, but it probably is, however, I will NEVER patronize this Deli ever again and I recommend everyone to go Parkwood Deli in Midland Park. Everything about this place is amazing. I highly recommend getting the #4 or a chicken parm with vodka sauce, with a side of the macaroni salad or the potato salad. The macaroni salad and the potato salad are the best I have ever tried, and almost every week I bring home like 2 pounds of each for my family. I have tried almost everything on their menu and all the other foods they make like canolis, empanadas, broccoli rob, rice balls, etc. You cannot go wrong with any option. In the fridges they have an assortment of drinks including the world famous Manahattan special cream soda. They have desserts and frozen meals in freezers too, all of which are great for quick fresh meals. Sometimes the store gets kind of crazy and there isn't always a structured line, but if you are patient, the quality of the food is well worth the wait. Eating here with friends is awesome too because of the open layout. The staff is so friendly and awesome. I love this place! You have to try their food. read more

But what I did expect was anything OTHER than a frozen chicken patty which I would expect from Burger King for $2 bucks! How HORRENDOUS was that sandwich! And when asked (when we were paying for that garbage) if everything was OK, I told the owner the truth. She dismissed me out of hand and told me that my taste buds were wrong and I didn't know what I was talking about. Then she asked me to leave the store. This place used to be great.
