08/07/2024 - We get there and no one else is there. We get sat at a dirty booth. Water marks on the table. Sticky shit all over the top of my seat to where I can't lean back or my shirt and hair stick to it. Bug GALORE, gnats, flies, mosquitoes all flying around my face and food. Then our food is brought and it's not correct. They were more than willing to fix the problem but we had to wait longer. Then to top the cake a noisy family came in without of control children. The building was not very clean or neat the padding on the back of the bench seat was falling off and the table in our section had been wiped so often that the masonite was worn through to the wood. I am glad that there is a 24 hours restaurant in kalamazoo area like IHOP. I went there around 2:30 AM Surprisingly, it was busy and full of customers. Service was very good and the waitress was smiling and welcoming. I ordered fish and Spanish with hash brown and chocolate pancake. Tge fish tasted very good! Hash brown was a little bit less crispy than I expected but it was tasty. The chocolate pancake was delicious, i only suggests the restaurant to try Nuttella filling. My husband ordered vegetables soup and beef, egg, turkey bacon burger. The soup was delicious for improvement, my husband suggest serving the soup with lemon slices. The burger was awesome, satisfying and delicious. Nice experience, definitely i will come back. Specially when i crave for something at the middle of the night. read more

Tried the waffle McGriddle and it was amazing! A must try. You get a combination of sweet with just the right hint of savory. I substituted the bacon for sausages and I will def. be getting this again! Also got the Oreo pancakes on the side. I have been missing these my whole life! They add just the right amount of Oreos in the pancake batter and on top to get a crunchy Oreo in each bite! They are sweet, and the McGriddle is sweet so keep that in mind if you want to have contrast I would opt one or the other out. read more

We met for late breakfast yesterday. I have to say that my first impression was how run down this restaurant is. But since we've gotten decent food here very, we stayed to eat. I wish I would not have visited the restroom before my food came. Because it made me a bit weary of the food. The women's bathroom was dirty. As was the Men's, according to my husband. When the food came my fears were realized. Specialty pancakes? NO. The blueberry pancakes had literally about 20 tiny little dried out blueberries. No compote. No liquid except a wet spot about 3" in diameter all soaked in. Unfortunately the strawberry French toast I had was not any better. And although the people were nice, we never got extras we asked for (bowl of blueberry topping), and coffee rifills came slow. Cashier had to finish her conversation with fellow employee before she could acknowledge we were even standing there. Breakfast with family should be fun and pleasant. But, iHop proved to be a challenging experience this morning. It was not busy at all this morning. I happened to be seated in a spot where I had a unrestricted view of the servers galley. Our server was pleasant but they were out of coffee so she went in the galley and played with her phone while she waited (about 5 minutes). I asked another server if she could send her to take our order but she didn't. I finally got the attention of another server and she told our server. Our server then started making coffee and finally came with the coffee and took our orders. During our wait for food, I observed 4 servers in a group chatting and 3 of them on their phones. Worse that that, I observed on two separate occasions, servers on their hands and knees looking for something that they had dropped on the floor underneath the cabinets and then without washing their hands, serve food to the tables!! Lastly, on one occasion there was a customer at the door waiting to be greeted/seated and the servers were busy chatting and on their phones so the customer had to wait until someone noticed the customer. Boo! This place desperately needs a management overhaul. 1. No phones while working. 2. They need food safety practices training and the practices must be followed. About 8-10 minutes later, the server came. I ordered my omelette. It took 30 minutes. No joke, I know because of my checkin time on Yelp! My omelette was cooked well, they followed my instructions (egg whites, chicken, spinach, made with nonstick spray instead of butter) but the chicken seemed very dry (like it was cooked a few days ago and microwaved a few times). The omelette was hot when it arrived so it wasn't sitting there. Maybe they are short staffed in both the dining room and kitchen? There was basically 1 server, and the hostess was helping. This IHOP is so gross. We first got there and they didn't notice us for 30 min and then gave us stained silverware with food on it and we asked for clean silverware and they were worse. Then we got drinks and the hot cocoa was water which u can get for free. It was $2.19 for each hot cocoa! Then I asked for waffles with strawberries and chocolate chips inside! I got the waffle and it looked like a soaked tampon with sugared strawberries for cheesecake and charged me $2 for a side of chocolate chips which I didn't even ask for (they weren't on the inside).
