Son wanted to go to iHop this Sunday and decided to stop by a different location closer to where we were going shopping, and we really enjoyed this location as the server was very kind and helpful and constantly checking on us and making sure we were doing good. (We promised her we were going to write the review for her and she gave us her name written we just misplaced the receipt, her name begins with a J but we lost it ). Food was really good today as a different location where we tried the Sirloin Steak was overcooked and dry and under-seasoned but this place was spot on with the temperature and cooked it well with good flavor. I would cannot in conscious recommend this restaurant the food was a bit over cooked and the waitress was very rude and rushing me and my party when there was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Gluten free pancakes were actually quite good though I don't appreciate having to pay so much of an extra charge. Still it's the thing I'm not complaining about. Denver omelette was not on the menu and my server asked what it usually has in it and they would make it that way- also gluten free- can't do their omelet unless using fresh eggs. When my food arrived it smelled funny, I couldn't seem to place the smell. This omelet was so nicely made it caused me to struggle between what I was seeing and smelling and tasting. To begin with, I was given green chilies instead of the green bell peppers I asked for. And then, my teeth found some egg shell that wouldn't dislodge from my molar teeth. That for me is End of breakfast! I told the server and the server looked at me saying oh do you want me to go tell the chef? She started walking away and I said no, I don't want to cause trouble about it, I'm done eating and don't want more food, and said I would not even be taking the rest my food. I'm not going to tell someone how to do their job. In my opinion, and I would have preferred, she should have taken at least a part of it off the bill as I left more than half of it at the table explaining I wasn't willing to eat it. Besides it was over $30 for two old ladies for breakfast with no drinks besides water. So upset I didn't even look closely and just paid. An hour later and I still can taste soap or something like a dishrag and I can't get rid of it. I'm assuming it's because they had to wash the cooking surface prior to making the omelet...maybe because it's a gluten free order? I'm just not sure they rinsed it before cooking my food. We visited twice in the course of our weekend, once on Saturday morning, and once on Sunday (Father's Day). First, I'll say that the service was great on both occasions, but it was outstanding on Saturday, when Angel was our server. Angel was amazing! Super friendly, checked on us frequently, fast, efficient, just awesome all around. The restaurant was clean on both occasions and we didn't have to wait for a table, so that also was a plus. Ok now for the food... IHOP is always known for its big portions, and this was no exception. However the food was a bit hit or miss on both occasions. I got the big steak omelette both days, and I enjoyed it - lots of meat, hashbrowns inside the omelette, eggs cooked well, and lots of cheese. My pancakes on Saturday were perfect- moist, golden brown, and fluffy. On Sunday, I decided to mix it up and got French toast instead of pancakes. Our server (not Angel, it was a young man) advised that it would be an extra charge, which was fine, but he didn't let me know that I'd only get 1 slice of French toast! I ended up ordering another pancake. The French toast wasn't that good- kind of cold and tough and without much flavor. On Saturday, my husband got the split decision breakfast. He also didn't like the French toast and the bacon was super greasy. On Sunday, he got the steak and egg breakfast. While he said the eggs were good and the steak was fine, his pancakes were cold and dried out when he got them. He sent them back, (the server was apologetic about it) and the second set were so dark that they were almost burned! We wondered how the kitchen could even justify serving them, they were so bad. We wanted them just taken off the bill at that point, but the manager insisted on getting us a fresh batch, and those turned out much better. All in all, this iHOP has great service, but the food definitely could use some work. It was convenient and 24 hours, so that's a plus. read more

There is just something comforting about a restaurant that is always there for you. Late night in college? Open. Hungry after a movie? Open. A random Friday night when most other restaurants have a long wait? Open. With no wait. Bingo. We stopped here a few weeks ago, yes, on a Friday night, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy, but not chaotic. We were quickly greeted by a server named Megan who took great care of us. We didn't have to wait to long to our food to arrive, hot and tasty, I may add. Megan was super sweet and attentive despite practically singlehandedly dealing with several tables. We commended her on her unrivaled work ethic and she told us about how she was just accepted into her dream school--Dartmouth College--and how she's saving up to be able to move and study there. I was beyond impressed by Megan, her service, but more so her gigantic dreams that I have no doubt she will fulfill. IHOP pretty much is the same world wide and the food is actually pretty good. I have to say this place was a pig sty. Of course, they were understaffed and every table was dirty either with syrup spilled coffee - you name it. Yea the floor was dirty but hey this is a diner. And if the front was this bad what do you think the kitchen is like? The food was good though. I had the breakfast tacos which was a little pancake folded like a taco with bacon and eggs in the middle. These were very good. BUT the menu had a picture of a side of salsa which actually cost 89 cents. This is just another way the management is nickel and diming the customer. My wife and I decided to stop and have something to eat, we stopped at IHOP located at 83rd Ave and Bell Road off the loop 101 in Arrowhead, Diamond was our server and was exceptional, she greeted us quickly after being seated and took our order, she brought our beverage right away and as our order was prepared quick as well as correct. Diamond served our food quickly and asked if there was anything else she could do. When we were finished, she brought the check and proceeded the payment. We wanted to have a simple, good night out and decided to try IHOP again. The place was clean and didn't smell like chemicals or sewage, so we were off to a good start. The server was slow and forgetful but, she was also the only one working and there were a couple tables full of people. It took about 30-45 minutes for our order to be taken. We ordered 3 waters, one Diet Pepsi and a blueberry lemonade. For food we ordered: 1 breakfast sampler, 1 roast Turkey dinner and 1 pot roast dinner all with a side of pancakes. This is where the issues began. We didn't get our food or drinks for quite a while. The server had dropped off the food and we asked her for the drinks again at that time. She apologized, said she'd forgotten and brought them about 5 minutes later. The food looked atrocious. The portions were like a school lunch portion and it wasn't even hot. It looked like cat food, and was just overall horrible. The boyfriend's breakfast looked decent even though that wasn't hot either. $60....$60 for the terrible experience. It's an IHOP, it has its pros and it has its cons. It's nothing fancy, usually tasty, and fairly priced given its a large chain. Couple complaints on the food, we had a group of 4 adults and two kids. Decent size table, but when the first plates came out the waggle and pancake orders were cold. Soft butter wouldn't melt or even spread well they were so cold. Also, if avocado is $1.50 for the omelette, feels over priced if it's only 1/4 at best of a small avocado. With that, the service last time around was meh at best. They server told us to reach over to the table next to us for salt and pepper. Had us pass hot plates down to people on the other side of the table instead of walking over to them. Brought us the check without checking if we were done. Simple stuff that matters... the positive is that their bathrooms have been cleaned up and redone. A year or so ago they were in very rough shape, worse than a gas station. read more
