Extreme bacon omelette
Elizabeth B.

I have ordered the bacon omelette before and before it looked just like the pictures on the website where it was really thick and fat and just full of bacon and cheese in the inside, absolutely amazing. This time it was flat as you can see in the picture and it didn't even have bacon in it up to the first fourth of the omelette on either side, there was only some in the middle and even that was hardly anything there. It looked like there was maybe a half or less of a piece of bacon ripped apart on top of the omelette and hardly any cheese just some cheese sauce. It was horrible! I will not be going back to IHOP again I am extremely disappointed.

Spinach mushroom omelette

We were promptly greeted and seated fairly quickly with how busy they were. Our servers name was Ms. Hayze and she was awesome!! She checked on us without being bothersome. She was incredibly nice and helpful. My husband and I ordered breakfast. My husband got the breakfast biscuit and a side of biscuits and gravy. He ate the gravy so fast I didn't get a chance to taste for the review but apparently it was yummy . The breakfast biscuit was perfect for my husband as he likes his biscuits a little softer, to me however it was a little too light and biscuit tasted little floury but all and all good. I've had worse. Husband had no complaints and as it was his meal all good with me! I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette. Oh my... What can I say that was just scrumptious! Soo many layers of flavor! It had sauteed spinach, mushrooms and onions and some diced tomatoes with a holidays sauce and melted jack and cheese cheese. That was one of the best omelets I've had! Definitely worth looking into. Only sad I couldn't finish it I was so full!

I don't generally dine at bars (only because inebriated folks tend to make me nervous) but the reviews on the burgers were too good to pass up. Hubby & I sat at the bar near the door while the rest of the folks were around the corner so we were pretty much alone at our end. While the bartender gave us drinks pretty quickly, our food sat at the window for a few minutes as she made drinks for others. Thankfully the chef brought our burgers to us after announcing "food at the window" twice. And to be honest, it was worth the wait. I ordered the Bourbon Street Boomer with fries & hubby had The Penguin. Y'all, those burgers were phenomenal!! Cooked to order and superbly seasoned. I'm 61 & have had burgers all over the world and my burger was the best I've ever had. It was juicy & cheesy and whatever seasoning they used in the meat was delectable. Hubby devoured his entire burger but I could only eat about a 1/4th of mine. The fries were soooooo good too and they were still good hours later when I dined on my burger again. We couldn't find enough adjectives to get our praise across but we tipped our chef $20 just to show our appreciation. I only took one pic because I wanted to eat it, not photograph it. I would definitely recommend stopping in. And if dining in a bar isn't your thing, order take out. The burgers are too good to pass up. We will most assuredly be back for more burgers. And we live in Richlands! Thanks for a delightful meal.

The service was good, I would categorize this as more of a bar, we went for lunch I wouldn't feel comfortable taking my 5 year old year, which is a bummer because I would add this to our restaurant rotation list!

Great Pork Chops and a Delicious Start at Morgan's!…read more Stopped into Morgan's Tavern & Grill while visiting New Bern and started with the chef's special soup of the day, Chicken Poblano. Creamy, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. For dinner, I went with the grilled pork chops topped with a molasses glaze, and they did not disappoint! Cooked perfectly to medium, the chops were juicy and had a nice smoky char. The molasses glaze added just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the pork. I paired them with broccoli because I like to pretend I'm making healthy decisions when dining out. I'm pretty sure the vegetables canceled out the molasses glaze! Overall, a very enjoyable meal. The pork chops were definitely the highlight, and Morgan's is worth checking out when visiting New Bern.

We are given complimentary honey croissants which were buttery and rich so be careful, it can be an appetite spoiler. We enjoyed them though, nice touch. We just wanted apps tonight with cold beers so I ordered the Cheesy Buffalo Fries. Read the description carefully because they are not fries...they are a curly potato more in the wedge family, not very fries like. Little disappointed because I was craving fries tonight. But thats on me for not reading it carefully. It wasn't bad at all. My husband ordered one of his favorite soups to get, French onion, and was not happy with it. He called it "fake". The restaurant looked very warm with brick walls and high ceilings. Service was great, but food was ok. Not interested in visiting again in the future.

Cypress Hall - The pork dish was a bit "one note" for me. I wish there was the same complexity as other dishes of theirs.

We were in no rush and our waiter (Beckett) was very accommodating with our pace. we ordered drinks and settled in on reviewing the small menu. Drinks were fine but I thought my beer (Sexy Cool Hazy IPA) was a little flat. We asked if there were any appetizers that would lend themselves to sharing. The only two, deviled eggs and pimento cheese, were not anything we were interested in so we passed. Surprisingly, there was not even a salad option as a starter. Two of the dinners had the NC catch of the day, golden tilefish. It was nice but a very small portion. One had the shrimp and clam purloo. It was a generous portion and was reported to be good. I had the braised pork cheeks. They tasted good and were not fatty at all. Looking back on our dinner, the food was fine but nothing exceptional. Also nothing "fresh" on the menu; salad, fresh vegetables, nothing. Also the lack of something other than the very pedestrian offers to share is something to consider. For what we paid, I would expect much better. PS - Our waiter, Beckett, was very good. Attentive enough but not too much. Also, why do restaurants of this caliber charge more for a credit card. Who is going to pay cash for a $300 meal? Just crank it into the price of the food and stop rubbing our noses in your cost to do business.

I like how they provide a pager so you didn't have to wait in front of the truck until your food is ready. The owner was friendly and helpful in picking out entrees. I ordered the Scenario sliders and husband ordered the CowDogPig sliders. Each one came with 2 sliders. The Scenario was good but I liked the CowDogPig better. The Scenario contained 2 thin beef patties topped with American cheese, pulled pork, slaw, blue cheese dressing, and bacon jam. The pulled pork didn't have much flavor, just slightly sweet. The combination of all of the ingredients and flavors made it taste good. The CowDogPig had thin beef patties, cheese, Nathan's beef hot dog, grilled jalapenos and onions, and bacon jam. I will definitely get the CowDogPig next time! The Scenario sliders were enough for me but husband was still a little hungry. So you may want to order one of the tator tot sides or more sliders to make your meal filling.

It's definitely nothing fancy, but was clean with about half of the tables occupied when we arrived. My small omelet was served warm but was on the tiny side of small and arrived with a very skimpy portion of sausage, which was a $2.86 up charge. It was a meh. The "home fries" were sliced potatoes out of a can which had been fried earlier that morning and served cold. They were not good at all. My dining companion ordered the 1-egg breakfast. Her scrambled egg was cold. Our server was friendly but seemed very busy so she wasn't especially attentive. All in all, Ghent Sandwich Shop offered a very poor value with mediocre food. Restaurants absolutely need to make a reasonable profit, but this seemed like a rip off.
