I had family come in from out of town to visit my daughter for had birthday. We had a party of 10, and understood there may be different seating arrangements due to covid. They seated us right away and we were able go sot together. Our waitress took great care of us through the whole meal. Out food came out in a timely manner and was very good. Ok, a coworker and I just got off from working the nightshift during an exercise on base and decided to stop by IHOP to get some breakfast. It was about 6am and the place was pretty much empty except for a couple people and 2 police offers. The hostess sat us in a booth and told us our service would be right with us, and here is where it started to take a turn for the worse... 15-20 minute later our service FINALLY showed and asked if we wanted a drink, we both said Coffee and Orange juice, she started to leave and we had to quickly stop her and tell her we were ready to order... she turned to us, took a deep breath like it was going to be an effort to take our order NOW... Needless to say, the service sucked!!! I ordered chicken and waffles and my co-worker got the special omelet NO MUSHROOMS... he emphasized, no mushroom as he was allergic. SO... 5-10 min pass and she finally shows back up with our juice and A CUP of coffee.. no container for the both of use... just 2 small cups of coffee... OK, so i thought maybe she would bring the container back out when she brought the food... 20-30 minutes later... the sun is coming up its almost 7am and she finally brings out the food... no container of coffee nor did she even ask if we wanted a refill... I had to ask her if she could bring us more coffee... yet, another DEEP Breath from her and an annoyed eye roll... yea... No tip for her. Chicken and waffles... NEVER AGAIN!!! Chicken strips were hard and dry, waffles were soggy and I hadn't even put butter or syrup on them yet... Omelet No Mushrooms... yup, you guessed it... MUSHROOMS IN THE OMLETE!!! Now we are tired, pissed off and hungry, I took one bite of the chicken strip and one bite of the waffle. 7:30 pm Satuday night and I was craving breakfast, but in no mood to make it myself. I was happy to learn that the IHOP dining room was finally re-opened amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the day before Mothers day no less. Yay me! As always the place was clean and the food great. We just dined here yesterday!! It was Good Friday, all of Ft. Hood had the day off it felt because the place was PACKED. Our server was Damaris and she was THE BEST. She warned us it would take a while because of the amount of people dining and constantly checked on us when she could. But honestly, it didn't feel like a bad wait! Nobody expects much from greasy breakfast chains, but I do expect my meal to be PUBE-free. Obviously this was not the case at the Killeen IHOP...on multiple occasions!!! My friend ordered a chicken caesar salad and the meat was RAW in the middle. When we went to use the restroom, the toilet was literally spraying water everywhere. One of their only pluses is that they are open all hours of the night...and since it is too hot here for me to leave the house during the day...I try to find "vampyre" friendly places. Anyways....I cannot count the number of random types of hair I have found in my food...or the number of times they have screwed up my order. I also love being told that they are out of pancake batter. Seriously....? How the fuck can the "international house of PANCAKES" be out of pancake batter? We waited 40 minutes and they forgot to fix my chicken fried steak. Never recieved any refills on drinks. Not a good showing for 5:00 on a monday. Children: Three color crayons and a once piece of paper to write on. They do have booth seats and they also have high chairs. Many children are in restraunt especially on Sundays. Waiters: Usually very busy especially on Sundays and some are very attentive to your needs but they do not screen you food for quality they just serve it. The IHOP in Temple is much better than in Killeen. FOOD: Below average. Grease is visible on eggs. Pancakes are sometimes cold. Hashbrown special is usually cold or the cheese is overcooked making it hard so that the whole hashbrown can be picked up all at once like a pancake. read more

If you like playing Russian Roulette with your health and well-being, this IHOP is the place for you. I am constantly amazed how this IHOP manages to stay in business. If you manage to stay long enough to get yelled at to be seated, you'll get to observe the busboys and waitresses haphazardly clearing your table for you. Feel free to ask for your own towel to wipe up the syrup and stains from your seats. It's just downhill from there. The eggs and sides always arrive cold, and I've had the fortune of finding lipstick on my glass. The only time you don't have a dirty fork is when the server forgot to give you one. Don't even get me started on the overflowing urinal in the bathroom. Having the place mobbed on the weekends or after the clubs close down should be an indicator that a place is popular, but the truth is, it's not that great. Most times when I've been in there it's been loud with a long wait (considering a long wait in this area is 30 minutes). Other times it's pretty dead, and those are really the only times I'd dare venture in anymore. The service is really hit-or-miss. I've had some great servers, but a majority of them have been out for their own bottom line. I will admit not tipping my waitress on more than one occasion. She brought me my change and instead of doing what any knowledgeable server does, leaving ones, I've gotten all larger bills. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to leave a $5 or more tip on an $8 ticket. As a result, those servers don't get their tips...and being a former server, I'm always careful to tip well. More often than not, I've found that service is slow if you're not ready to go from the start. If your order isn't ready to go I've often had to flag my waitress down after 20 minutes of waiting to order because I guess she must have forgotten about us. A good server also shouldn't have to be flagged down for refills after waiting for another 10 minutes. Don't even ask for any extras, like for the waitress to bring you a little extra syrup, or some butter. You'll never see it. I've rarely had a server check in and see how everything is. Often times they just drop the check off at the table before asking if anyone would like anything else. While often times I don't want to add anything to my order, it's still a good gesture. The food is not so great. The waffles are generally soggy, as are the pancakes. The french toast is okay. The omlettes and eggs seem to be decent. However, I've noticed they don't seem to know how to cook bacon without leaving it tasting a bit charred. For a place that specializes in breakfast food, you wouldn't think they'd be so good at getting it wrong. Finally, there's the atmosphere. The first time I went in there I didn't notice how much of a dive the place was, but it's in serious need of a good scrub-down and remodeling. I've noticed sticky tables more than a couple of times. I've also seen roaches in there, not something I'm particularly pleased to see in a place I'm eating at. In general, it's not worth it. You'd be better to drive out to Heights. As much as that IHOP isn't much better, at least it's an improvement. Or if you're really looking to stay close to the area and don't have your heart set on IHOP, Denny's is right across the street and is actually worth the money. read more

My family and I went here on a busy mid-morning Sunday. Our wait wasn't very long. I just want to compliment how awesome our waiter, Daquan C., was. He was very polite and friendly and made sure we had a good experience. I also overheard other waiters with customers and they were so kind. I almost lost hope for IHOP because of some bad experiences at other locations, but this location by far is the best. We also enjoyed the food. Had a mother's day dinner tonight at the local IHOP. Here's how they did: Hostess: took a little time to seat us, but then again, we roll deep, so, understandable. The hostess herself was curteous. Waitress: Our waitress was very nice, and took the time to ensure she got our huge order correct. She also checked on us enough to make sure we were good. Timeliness of food: from order to service was decent. Quality of food: I heard no complains from anyone in my party and as for my own meal, it was great. Stopped in here after shopping for a meal and my wife who never complains when we eat just couldn't stop. Really, her lettuce on her blt was looking like spinach. As she was pulling it out of her sandwich. She never received her salad that I was thankful she didn't after the lettuce I the sandwich. The staff was informed of the salad when they brought the sandwich and never came back. I mean like never. Went to brunch with my daughter and staff took too long sitting us... they were extremely slow. Food was nasty.

We ate breakfast at this IHOP this morning October 9, 2015 and the service and food was great we also were seated right away. A big selection of omelets and pancakes is always good. (I'm thinking with the number of customers they get each day, this is pretty impressive.) But the restrooms on the other hand were really dirty, both toilets were filthy and the changing table had dried up ketchup on it. I think bathrooms should be cleaned at all times! read more

I'll give you a play by play. Came in stood at the door for a good 3-4 minuets. There was a man in front of us who had a Togo order. As soon as we walked in she acknowledged him, asked his name and she went off. Then another lady came up a few minutes later and asked his name and paid him out. Then a waitress came by and saw us standing there with a few others behind us. She sat us, then walked away. I had enough time to read the menu a few times, decide what we wanted then get on Facebook for a few minutes... the lady who sat us saw we hadn't been helped and can over to apologize. Her name was Miracle. She took our order, and checked on us regularly. Another lady who sat near us had to wait 11 minuets to order her drink. (I timed it, I had nothing better to do...) Food came out hot and fast. The food tasted great, and everything was clean. My kid enjoyed himself and wanted IHOP to have better reviews, so I'm giving it a 5 star rating. This place needs a complete overhaul; from the staff and their uniforms, quality of food, and the interior itself. Every time IHOP advertises their fruit topped funnel cakes I'm always watering at the mouth but I always miss it! I wish it were one of those times! I treated my best friend to a late night IHOP run for her birthday (I think she hates me now after this). Worse meal ever! Our funnel cakes tasted like it was fried in old grease! It was hard to boot! Ick! Not a problem right? Wrong! We both sat there waiting at least 20 minutes for our waitress to make her way back to our table (the place was pretty much empty). My scrambled eggs with cheese that I ordered were cold with cold shredded cheese thrown on top but the hashbrowns were good (I guess I was hungry). After telling the waitress about our hard, old grease tasting, canned fruit topping, funnel cakes she proceeded to take them back and give us some freshly made. It tasted exactly the same but HOTTER! Ick! Third times a charm right? Heck no! We weren't gonna attempt that one! We got the funnel cakes subtracted from our ticket and threw in the towel. It's sad when the costumer gives up! Normally, I go to the Harker Heights IHop, however I mad a bad choice to call in an order at the Killen location. After telling the female on the phone twice I wanted my eggs over easy, they were scrambled and asked for 4 pieces of turkey bacon, got two. I gave my name and she asked me to spell it, in the middle of me spelling it she cut me off. I apoke with both a shift manager and the GM, which pretty much said, sorry. I promise this will be the last time I go to the Killeen location. I would rather drive further dor better customer service and competency. I've eaten at many iHop chains & this one could definitely use a facelift/reno/OVERHAUL!!! You'll be lucky if you ever get in on the weekends & when you do...good luck if you see your breakfast by the time lunch rolls around. I could surely whip up a better breakfast than they produce. We ate at the Kettle by McDonald's one morning b/c we couldn't get into iHop. The place was RAUNCHY...but their food & service was hands down better.
