Stopped in the IHOP on Miller Lane for a late breakfast. Extremely slow getting our food after ordering. I ordered from the +55 menu--two eggs scrambled well, bacon crispy, hash browns, white toast and coffee. Coffee came with only 3/4 of the cup full. When the food was finally brought out the eggs were runny, hash browns cold and only browned on one side. The bacon had a funny taste but it was crisp. never did get the toast. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant and will not return. read more

Mediocrity at its finest. I could hear the table next to us complaining about the wrong food and not coming out. Our experience.... they forgot my pancakes and my big steak omelette was cooked to the point of rubbery. I had to send it back. There was a wait time to be sat when plenty of tables were open. The staff seems somewhat clueless, but trying. Go to the IHOP in Richmond, IN. Short drive there and not as disappointing as the IHOPs they keep trying to open around Dayton. They are just open. Visited on Saturday afternoon. It was moderately busy. The manager was chewing out the hostess when we arrived. Something about the seating chart. We were seated and quickly realized no one had food. Lots of people waiting but no one was eating. We asked the people next to us if they had been waiting long. They had ordered but the wait had been long enough to be frustrating. We quietly left and notified others waiting to consider finding somewhere else. We chose Frisch's instead. IHOP just needs to time to get organized. We will try again in a few months. The place looks good and the remodeling is terrific. Still don't understand why the location built several years ago less than 1/2 mile away on never opened. Still sitting empty. read more

We joined the wait-list on Yelp and as we walked in they were calling our name, which was before our estimated time. Awesome! Food was great. We got the canoli pancakes, cinnstack pancakes, and a Monte Cristo wrap. Our server was very sweet but only came back to check on us once right after we got our food. We asked for refills but she only brought it for one of us. So we just shared since we never saw her again until well after we were finished. Service needs improvement but it was still much better than the old one in Huber. The menu is huge and they have a lot of unique breakfast dishes so we'll definitely be back. We also like that they have non breakfast items so something for everyone our server said they just went to being open 24 hrs this week so hopefully their service will improve as they adjust. read more

Would have liked to try this restaurant but hostess seemed busy (only one other person and a GrubHub person waiting). Signage everywhere said that customers should wear masks which did not make sense because mask was only protecting the hostess's chin and not her mouth or nose. I could care less about a mask but if you are hanging signs for patrons to wear them than the hostess should have one since she is the first impression of the restaurant. I fortunately the stress on the part of the hostess reflected on our table placement because to one acknowledged us being there after being seated for 10 min. Not even the manager who rushed back and forth past us 4 times. We ended up going down the road to Cracker Barrel and waiting 5 minutes. Highly recommend passing IHOP by and getting pancakes at Cracker Barrell. read more

There were barely any cars in the parking lot. Entered and told them a table For 2. The waitresses argued over who gets the next table in their rotation, argued in front of us. Was seated and waited 45 minutes. All we had was our coffee and water. A bus boy came along asking if we were done with the plate that the creamer came on, we stated we were. He then proceeded to buy the dirty dish tub on our table and cleared our still rolled silverware and coffee cups. That was it for me, got up and walked out. Hostess thanked us for dining with them. I really love the atmosphere here! The renovations give a really refreshing look! the waitress we had was great, and my boyfriend was able to get his birthday pancakes that he loves so much! I ordered a blt with fries and the lettuce on the blt was not so great, so i probably won't order that again. the new wild berry lemonade drinks are incredible!! read more

Went on Christmas Day. Was told there was a 45 minute wait. Gave phone number and name to be notified when table was ready. When asked after an hour was told 10 minutes. 3 times. After 1 3/4 hours I assume it was the manager came out and said it could be maybe 1 to 2 hours yet. They only had 2 cooks. He announced call in orders took priority over those waiting. I love this IHOP!!! It's Spotless! Good food! Super-clean bathrooms (see my photo!). The IHOP on Miller Lane in Dayton Ohio is located in the former Max & Erma's restaurant so it is very spacious and airy and very clean (see my photo!). We got our drinks in good time. Our orders arrived hot and delicious. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, they were full of blueberries and had loads of blueberry compote on top along with the whipped topping. My partner's order was missing the ham, but as soon as it was pointed out, it was immediately fixed with a kind apology and a smile. And the ladies room was spotless! Look at my photo of the bathroom! I even saw wipe marks on the stall door where someone had actually wiped the door down. Since I never see that at any other restaurant, yes, I AM impressed! Someone is paying attention to the details. The saying goes "want to know how clean the kitchen is, go look at the bathrooms". Stopped at the Miller Lane location for breakfast before a flight out of Dayton International. Upon giving our name to the host, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. I did make both host aware of our timing and they insured us we would have plenty of time to be seated and make it to the airport. We logged onto the IHOP website to check on our place in line. Once we got to the top of the list we headed to the hostess stand. Only at that time when they asked forour name, we were informed that the manager took 4 names before us and did not put them on the list and we were behind them. When arriving with a group of 9 (5adults 4 children) stating we were willing to be separated. She told me a 30 min wait. 70% of the tables were EMPTY. I repeated we were willing to separate our group for 2 tables. She said that the waitress wanted to clear her section before receiving another table, so it would be 30 mins regardless. Our whole party hadn't arrived yet. The sign stated they could have 6-8 people in their lobby only. Ok, I get that. We had 6 with us and only 1 person sitting and waiting in the lobby. I asked the other Moms if we wanted to sit in lobby or go outside. The hostess, stone faced told me we were not allowed in the lobby due to the size of group we had. I explained we didn't have all 9 Present yet. She said that didn't matter and we must go outside. Looked down and would not respond to my question of why. We went outside, not wanting to make a scene with our kiddos present. When texted we could come in, I walk into a lobby of standing room only. Shoulder to shoulder of people who weren't told they had to wait outside. None of them with children and they were all masked. We were not. There was NO sign stating masks were required to enter. She didn't have one on either. So my guess is the fact we had 4 children was her issue. They are 9, 10, 10, and 12. Fully capable of sitting still and not rough housing in a restaurant. Our waitress was phenomenal, wish I got her name. Worked her tail off. Food, was poor. Soggy cheeseburgers, over cooked pancakes. The water in the women's bathroom didn't work. Floors were filthy, but it took 3 people at a table to wrap silverware, including one to be what looked like a manager. We had to go ask the for our silverware after our food was brought. And back to hostess, she didn't even give us enough menus and the table she sat us at only had 8 chairs. We had to pull a table over ourselves and get a chair. We will not return. read more

I placed a door dash order at 9:45a, my order was supposed to be ready by 10:04a, I showed up at 10:10a my order still was not ready. Well at least I thought. When I asked for my order the guy went to go check and never came back. I then inquired about my order with the host and they had wrote the wrong name on my order.. so I basically stood there for 10 additional mins for no reason. I ordered NY cheese cake pancakes eggs hash browns and TURKEY bacon. They gave me pork apparently because they ran out of Turkey bacon.. like huh? Thee worst experience ever. The waitress was terrible, I believe her name was Shell or Michelle. I ordered food that was not available due to the fact that they have updated their menus. Instead of the waitress telling me that the food wasnt available she sent a manager over 30-40mins later to tell me, and she had not placed the order of the food for the rest of the people at the table. The manager tried to make it right by telling us our food would be ready in 7/8 mins we waited another 30 mins. When my food finally came it was not right. We went for breakfast. Service was VERY slow. The table was not bussed probably, so we asked for additional napkins to finish the job. The waitress acted as if she had to pay or the napkins. Very rude. Coffee was weak, old and cold. In other words it really sucked. Asked for fresh coffee and it arrived hot, fresh and flavorful, so we thought things were improving. But, it took another 5 or so minutes before she came back to take our orders. Took about 20 minutes for breakfast to arrive and it was a total disaster. Food was undercooked and cold, as if it had been sitting for quite awhile. We decided to eat what we could, write it off and never come back. If the manger allowed that kind customer treatment, they wouldn't give a damn about any complaints. I gave them one star for the second try on the coffee. read more

We tried again this morning and there was no one at the front to greet anyone walking in. Finally after 5 minutes a lady came up and asked is there anyone that hasn't checked in yet? We said us. She told us anyone who has not checked in needs to go wait in their car and walked away before anyone could say anything. I called the manager and he said, "she miss spoke and he isn't sure where the break down of communication was, but that's not what she meant." We ended up leaving again and won't be back. It is Saturday night at 9:46 PM. I waited at the front door for 15 minutes and there was no one to acknowledge me or seat me or to see what I was doing there. No one asked whether I needed a take out order or be seated. I finally got fed up and just left and there was a woman that was waiting to pay for way too long herself. I understand that in these times these restaurants are understaffed, but someone could've at least acknowledge me and let me know that it would be a minute. read more

Honestly this IHop was so hopeful when it first opened. They seemed to hire really nice and helpful workers and seemed like they cared about running a decent restaurant. But after just a couple months, completely unrelated to COVID btw, they just went into the shitter. No one that works there seems to really pay attention to detail or care too much about their job. Almost every time I order food, at least one thing is wrong, if not multiple. If you order carry out and spend 1.50 more on special pancakes, you're lucky to ever get your toppings; usually they'll just give you plain buttermilk and never put the toppings in the bag. Lord, help this place. First of all, there's no staff. Our table was DISGUSTING. I asked for a rag to clean it MYSELF & a high chair. We get the high chair & rag. I also had to clean the high chair, BECAUSE IT WAS DISGUSTING AS WELL!!! We get food, COLDDDD!!!! My husband ordered peanut butter pancakes. They brought him something else & said "oh, yeah. We don't have peanut butter sauce for your order so we just made you this instead." NOPE, they didn't tell him when he ordered. And NOPE they didn't ask if he wanted something else. Then our "waitress" had some random guy not even in uniform just following her around like a lost puppy....????? Then we pay and leave (she discounted our check for the cold food & not what my husband ordered. As they should.) About to walk out the door & my husband looked down & said "wow. Went here a few weeks ago was told it would be a 45 minute wait and about 30 minutes into that wait the entire kitchen staff came out fist fighting in the parking lot and we decided to come back today, there was nobody at the host stand so we waited a minute because we thought maybe they are just short staffed like everyone else, couple minutes later a lady came out and said she would be back to get us in just a second and proceeded to not come back of the rest of the 30 minutes that we waited in the lobby I have never had good service here and I will not be going back I do not recommend it to anyone if I could give them a zero I would. read more

Alright let begin , first and for most. When you go in theRe is a wait first thing in the morning .. it was 10:30 . They open at 10. There was a 15 minute wait. Then another 20 minute wait to get our drinks, and another 30 minutes for food. Me and my husband ordered a breakfast sampler and a funny face pancake and sausage for our 2 year old son. Needless to say when the food came out , first thing that I noticed being a women in the restaurant business is my server does not use seat numbers , the food was brought out by a different server .. and she basically auctioned off the food trying to figure out what went where. (When we only ordered two meals.) then she didn't bring out our condiments she told us we would have to wait for our server. ( our server Un aware of this.) came bacc out with empty hands. Now let's get to the food, when placed on the table the first thing I noticed is my sons chocolate pancake is almost burnt and it's absolutely dry. There was no funny face, the whipped cream cherries and chocolate chips where just thrown on there. There was no butter on it. Mind you my boy eats everything, he took one bite of the pancake and didn't want anymore. Then I asked for Sausage for my little guy because although he eats everything he does not like bacon, they brought me 3 slices of bacon for him. A little small piece that was ( I kid you not) an inch long and burnt to a crisp the other two pieces where undercooked. Like the bacon was half way cooked. On a child's plate. Horrendous. Then on our plate the bacon was the same way , which I expected. What I didn't expect was for my eggs to be so watery that it ran off on to all the other stuff. I quiccly brought this to my servers attention when she came out with empty hands and not our condiments. She then stated that the Liquidy substance in the eggs was butter... enough to clog an artery. She did make sure that the problem was fixed the only thing I was upset about was she told me to keep the bacon after I told her I didn't want it because it was half cooked. Her overall service wasn't very good , she seemed overwhelmed and over worked, she didn't refill or even ask if my son wanted a refill, she didn't checc bacc to see how our food was after we got it for the second time. Her section was a mess there was food in the chairs , and under our table. My husband said that the bathrooms where atrocious. He couldn't even take our son to the potty.. my sons experience at his first Ihop was not one to remember.. and he's our pride and joy we just want him to have a good meal and even better experience. I lost forgot to mention the server didn't even Acknowledge my son when he said hi to her or thankyou . And that's one way upset a momma. We will NOT be coming bacc to this location. read more

Went today with my family we had a wait...no biggie put our name in was called in 45min just like they said. The server came promptly took our order but then another (Male) came out arguing with a lady at the table next to us. Then threw a glass full of water at her hitting the small child next to her. She then lost it! Management eventually came to deal with the yelling and throwing of glass plates with food. So after it was settled and they all left. Another employee came out to clear the mess of a table slamming stuff down and loudly throwing dishes into a plastic bin. My children were HIGHLY uncomfortable. So we decided to leave. I've never felt compelled to write a review until now. I've never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. the wait to be seated took forever. After knowing i was here, it took forever to take my order. In the end it was 10 minutes from entering to order being taken. The hashbrowns came burnt and they remade it and IT WAS STILL JUST AS BURNT! The third time they corrected it. Went on a Friday morning right after the official grand opening, were prepared for a wait but were seated right away. The server was very friendly and good with our two small children. First of all - you can reserve a table THROUGH Yelp (was unaware). On a busy Sunday they got us back as quick as possible. Speedy service once inside with friendly server & manager came by to check on us. Well run establishment struggling as everyone is with COVID restrictions but still performing very well.
