Waffle House is always something I can trust and set my expectations on. So far this is still the experience. This morning I saw the welcome yellow and black sign she that I have seen all over this country. Many times these visits have occurred during crises or other difficulties. This morning was consistent with that. I had been dropped off at the wrong destination by Uber Technologies. I had dress d loosely because I was just going to pick up a friend's car. This morning I had walked in a cold to what I thought would be a beacon of hope: SHELL OIL sign on a large convenience store open 25/7. It was approximately 5:15am on Friday, December 1st. My daughter's 41st birthday. But upon entering, I felt a huge disconnect!. Long story short. The lone employee, a person of Eastern European extract was rude when I entered. She then ordered be to leave the store accusing me of theft. I refused to leave and joined her vigil wait for the authorities to arrive. After being 'trespassed' without affirmative intrusion, I looked into the distance and saw WAFFLE HOUSE. The true 'Ole Yellow's. When I went in, it was just like it always is. server Angie was busy, but she acknowledged my entrance and respected my choice of seating without attempting to place me closer to the few other early morning diners. After the first experience, I was "loaded for bear ", meaning I was prepared and ready to blow all over the staff at Waffle House because of my SHELL experience. Angie worked efficiently. This woman was VERY ASTUTE. I could sense her caution, yet she gently asked about my order and then handed me the best cup of coffee that I have had since moving to Ohio in 2021! I ordered my thiry year always 'Special , Grilled Cheese with Bacon & Tomato on toast. I had gained 're'entry' after having been rejected service and vilified by Shelll, but through Angie's spirit of hospitality and Sherrie's expertise at creating the 'perfect Waffle House benchmark Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon and tomato. I Needed something to go right for me in Moraine,Ohio on the cold rainy morning of December 1, 1982, my daughter Aimee's 41st birthday....... Waffle House has become an iconic part of the landscape of the southeastern United States. These yellow neon lit buildings have fed countless road weary travelers, families with laughing children in tow, late night revelers and people from every walk of life. My go to choices are either the patty melt or one of their egg and meat breakfast options. But for me the big allure here has always been their hash browns. You can get the hash browns topped with a variety of toppings, you can't go wrong with chili and cheese, but really it is whatever talk to your heart. I guess you might find it odd that I have never had the waffles at a business where waffle is in their very name of the business, but I am just not into the sweet type breakfasts. I want to start by saying Waffle House is my go to breakfast when I'm on the road, but customer service & safety needs to be one of waffle house top priority which it's not and I found that out at the (Waffle House on 4912 Springboro Pike Moraine, OH 45439 United States 3rd Shift)was lacking on both safety & customers service. Yesterday 07/06/2024 around 2300 I went to Waffle House, after putting in my order for my food I had to wait a while because the cook mention to the waitress "that he'll be in there after his smoke because it's not that busy to be rushing". I finally get the food I've been craving but when I went to dig in my food there was a long piece of hair in my eggs, I immediately close my food up and drove all the way back to the Waffle House. After letting 3rd shift Waffle House employees know about my food they all 3 huddle together amongst themselves and to return to my face saying "I don't know where the hair came from it's not ours", the hair had to come from a worker or the establishment is not being probably cleaned and sanitize because I don't have hair. All 3 workers was rude and handle the situation poor. It's sad that you work hard for your money and when something wrong with the service or food you get bad customer service in return. I was thought you never know who's who and who they may know. Treat everyone with respect and kindness because the way I was treated you would thought that I was stray dog on the street looking for food!!! So Sad! Year 2024! read more

My husband and I visited here today for a late breakfast. The gravy and biscuits were super! The staff were all lively, friendly, and fast workers. My hubby noticed the entire staff was female and they were a terrific group and worked well together. The coffee and food were very tasty and fresh. We will definitely be back. Every time I try to call this location, they pretend that the phone is not ringing or take it off the hook. Only this time I go inside to place my order because the phone wasn't being answered for orders only to find the cashier was on the company phone talking to her boyfriend. I let her know while she was still talking to him that I tried to call and she proceeded to talk while I was waiting. She finally got off the phone and took my order. If this location is losing money I would not be surprised because the night shift crew won't answer the phone. I've only ever had one girl answer and she was very kind but left due to the shift going downhill. Very unprofessional and I don't think I will recommend or return to this location due to the unwillingness to work and the in professionalism that is shown. I've been to Waffle House before but I won't go back to this one anytime soon. I sat at the counter, to find a pre-school aged kid sitting beside me. Turns out he was the son of one of the servers. Now, I understand emergencies can happen with childcare, but she was unable to supervise this child properly. He was playing LOUD games or videos on her cell phone, periodically screeching or hollering, "Mom! Mom! MOM!" I finally asked to sit in a booth instead, giving the excuse that the counter stool was hurting my knee (which was true). This server NEVER ONCE smiled at me, nor any other customer that I saw. It just really seemed like we were a bother to her. The other servers managed smiles despite being busy, but not this one. I had to ask for coffee refill. Now, the food. Blech. There was water under the over-easy eggs, and the waffle was paper-thin and so cold the butter didn't even melt on it. The toast was soggy and cold. The bacon and hashbrowns were good, but not enough to make up for the rest. I'm not paying good money anymore for a cold meal served with a sullen disposition. read more

Whenever I travel I make it my business to go to a Waffle House because there aren't any in Michigan. Well I think I picked the wrong one this time. The food took a long time to come and when it did, it was almost cold. The waitress never told us her name and it was freezing the entire time. We ate with our coats on We're a party of 5 and had to squeeze into a booth as they had nothing bigger. My daughter never got her apple juice she ordered and just gave up on the idea all together. Stopped by Moraine, OH location, store #386 since it is closest to my home to order takeout, was turned away by waitress stating "their grills were down" but clearly they weren't... they just didn't feel like serving. Went to Miamisburg/Dayton Mall location instead. This isn't the first time I've heard from other locals this particular store (#386) does this when they don't feel like serving, just first time I've witnessed it myself. Lazy... read more

I ordered the chicken apple pecan salad and a bowl of chili. The service was pretty fast. Its only about seven other people in here with us. The chicken was grilled and the salad all together was pretty good. I garnished it with french and a little of italian. I've had better chili. I probably wouldn't order it again. read more

It is strange to me that First Watch can charge $20 for a mediocre breakfast but the trendiness and modern atmosphere make it all the rage. Today I had a great meal at a great price. The atmosphere is like eating at a crowded family get together. But the service was fast and friendly and the cook was fun to watch. A master at his craft. We went after a 1967 GMC that was located in Michigan. We took our three children. Long drive from just north of Cincinnati! Several waffle houses no longer serve inside dining only carry out, and some open at 6am for inside dining. We were unaware of this change and stopped in the first Waffle House around 5:15 they had at least ten people sitting and waiting for food, but wouldn't serve us inside. The second one we called same situation. So we waited until closer to 6am. And we found this one. I will tell you, at first they had a sign about carry out only and we were beyond disappointed, but they told us to come on in and have a seat. They treated us better than most anyone has in a long time! Great people working this morning and the cook was great. Our food was delicious. And guess what? There were a mixed group of people of all shapes and sizes and ethnicities. America isn't the racist land some people would have others believe. I'm very thankful for this group of people. When I did my research for writing this review, the Waffle House website directed me to the application for a management position at an Ohio Waffle House. I believe that this was THE sign for me to quit my job in payroll and move ship a few states over so that I can boss some older ladies with attitudes around while eating free pancakes on my breaks. In 2004 three friends and I got into my Honda Civic coupe at 2 in the morning and left for Dayton, Ohio. We were leaving from Poughkeepsie, NY for one reason - to see the band Guided By Voices in their hometown. The show was that night and the plan was to drive to Dayton, see the show, sleep in a hotel and then drive the 11 hours back to NY the next morning so we could all be at work later that day. When we got to one of our friend's houses we found him passed out on his family's porch swing and, when he got up, we could hear the empty beer cans hitting the ground. He had decided not to sleep after work (he had been up for over a day at that point) and, instead, got stoned and incredibly drunk. That friend spent the majority of the first part of the trip staring out the back window, babbling on and on about how he NEEDED to see the sun rise because he had seen the sun set earlier. About 20 minutes before it happened he fell asleep. Another one of the friends admitted about 4 hours into the drive that he had a massive amount of pot in his backpack. That friend also got really drunk on vodka and Red Bulls before the show (we thought it was a good idea) and ended up wandering out of the venue while GBV was playing and threw up on a cop car (with two police officers in it.) Did I mention that this friend was definitely not 21 at the time and I definitely had been for awhile? NOW I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THE WAFFLE HOUSE. The Waffle House was perfect. We smoked a lot of cigarettes while eating perfectly cooked everything. This Waffle House made me believe for a few minutes that Ohio was heaven on earth, which is obviously complete bullshit. While we were enjoying our meal the friend with the pot and the huge hangover was throwing up on the sidewalk outside of the Walmart across the parking lot. That trip not only ruled, it proved that you can squeeze 4 adults into a two door import and comfortably drive a total of 22 hours in a day and a half. read more
