I'm honestly disgusted by the way I saw a server being treated at this IHOP location. One of the managers (or maybe a supervisor?) was loudly yelling at an employee -- in front of customers -- over something as minor as their shoes. It was humiliating, completely unprofessional, and honestly made me lose my appetite. No one deserves to be spoken to like that, especially not someone who's working hard and trying to do their job. If there's an issue, it should be addressed privately and respectfully -- not screamed across the restaurant for everyone to hear. The entire situation felt disrespectful, demeaning, and unnecessary. Every time we had excellent service and the food was average. In this review I was very disappointed as we waited over an hour to be served and caused me to miss an appointment. We experienced the turnover of two tables. We are regular customers and have been satisfied, however this time the food was subpar as the poached eggs were 2 dumped in a small bowl I had to ask for the toast and were served 2 small burnt sausages. By the time the toast came the eggs were cold. I asked for the pancakes to go and they didn't even have butter and syrup to go with them. I never thought I would give IHOP a 5 stars lol. I mean, IHOP is delicious and good but generally IHOP is like a diner that everyone goes to and usually has mediocre service with "ok" food. This establishment, however, made me feel like I was not in hole in a wall diner and made me realized that IHOP can actually have very authentic and great tasting food! This location is quite ample on the outside with no problems to park. Upon entering, we were greeted by our server, Delph, who was multi tasking, and told us to follow her. She sat us at our table and two mins later came by and asked us what we would like to drink. Throughout the entire time, Delph was amazing! She was on top of refills, she was super kind, friendly and hospitable. She took real good care of us and she really knows how to be a great waitress. Really, this review is made possible because of her. Thanks, Delph! In addition to Delph, the FOOD! OMG they have a chef who LOVES to cook! My husband and I looked at each other after taking one bite and we were shocked that we in IHOP. The food was just super fresh and seasoned ever so greatly. IHOP was hopping this morning haha! Every table was filled, the servers were working hard, and the food was great. I was really impressed by all the staff at IHOP this morning, more than usual, because of the amount of people coming and going. They were all very nice and helpful, accommodating large groups of people who wanted to be seated in certain areas. Our server, Chris,overheard me saying happy birthday to my daughter as he was passing by and walked back to our table to wish her the same. He also gave her a dish of ice cream! IHOP, or as it is known by its more formal name International House of Pancakes, is an iconic brand and one that is easily recognizable. For whatever reason, I have never had the pancakes of a restaurant that puts such an emphasis on their pancakes that they literally put it in the name of their restaurant. I guess that the biggest reason that I have never had their pancakes is that I prefer more savory breakfasts as opposed to sweet. While I have had lunch and/or dinner options at other locations, I had breakfast here. Honestly, at least in my opinion, breakfast is the meal to go to at IHOP. The omelettes are a good option to go with. Service here was good and ultimately I had no complaints. If you are familiar with IHOP, you know what you are getting. If you are not, it is like many other national chain restaurants. The food is okay, but is not taking any chances nor is the menu going to offer any stellar items. Corporate restaurants are more concerned with consistency over quality (a sad fact). This location remains consistent. On a final note (and my attempt at humor), do you think that if this particular location were to get in trouble with their parent company they would be addressed as International House of Pancakes instead of IHOP? I know parents have that tendency. I know, I know, don't quit my day job for a career in comedy. Overall, I struggled between giving it either three or four stars. We ordered dinner to be delivered there last night since I had Pan Coins I could use and a free delivery (couldn't figure out the delivery). I also wish that it was stated before ordering that it was one coupon per order. The reason I am rating them higher is because I ordered a full stack of pumpkin pancakes which were still on the app and used my coins (15). I expected a blast to the past when I walked in based on previous Yelpers reports of nonstop 50's music. However, music was all current. First song when we came in was by Pink. On the way out, it was John Legend. The restaurant is noisy but that was expected. Music volume was right where it should've been, not too loud and not too soft. The place was packed at around 12:30 but we were seated promptly. It was nice and cool in there on a hot 90+ day. Our drink order was taken within a couple minutes of being seated followed by our food order. Went here for my free birthday pancakes email offer and ordered the strawberry cheesecake stack with a side of sausage. I should've known better but they were way too sweet for me. Very dessert-like with yummy bits of cheesecake in the batter and strawberries, glaze and whipped cream on top. If you like sweet stuff, then order these pancakes. The cheesecake was melted inside the pancake in a couple areas and threw me off as it looked like raw batter. Waitress assured me it was cooked. I'm still not 100% sure. The pancakes were smaller, thankfully, than the original pancakes and there were 4 included in the stack. My son ordered the sampler breakfast and seemed to enjoy his meal. I have not been to an IHOP in years. The place was crazy busy for a weekday morning but we were able to get a table fairly quick. The menu was filled with lots of choices but I settled on blueberry pancakes. There was a thick and very sticky blueberry sauce poured over the top of my pancakes that was a convenience product. I scraped it off and tried just the pancakes. Unfortunately one out of the four was undercooked and gummy. I didn't need four pancakes so I just pushed the undercooked one aside. Their hash browns and the sausage were good and hot. The other 5 orders at the table were cooked perfectly and did not disappoint. The service was great. I ordered from the Clermont IHOP to be delivered by Door Dash. One of the items I ordered was Swedish pancakes. Here is the description as copied from IHOP's website. "Four delicate crepes topped with sweet-tart lingonberry jam and lingonberry butter." What a disappointment! I received absolutely no lingonberry butter and the amount of sweet-tart lingonberry jam was barely enough for one pancake let alone four. This is clearly not the fault of Door Dash or its driver.
