Replacing the roof was very important to me and a significant financial undertaking after both the hail storm of August 2023 and May 2025 that I deliberatly put off until a leak from the attic I experienced in the latter half of the year. The price was reasonable for class 4 shingles and solar panel removal on a 3-story roof. The roofing work was done on schedule. All planning previous with material delivery and removal were on schedule. The workers were diligent and thorough with removing the fallen nails after cleanup per my request. I also appreciate Daniel's office staff with scheduling and documentation with insurance working between me and one other decision-maker in the quote process. We meet with 3 companies prior to selecting Mascon. Dwight, our project coordinator with Mascon, knew more about roofs and options than any of the competitors. He was able to assist us in selecting the best value for our home. (Call the homeowners insurance to determine coverage discounts based on shingle selected). He knew I had cast iron pipes without being told and could anticipate that a competitors suggestion to move a vent pipe would have been costly and risky. Dwight provided the perfect suggestion about the color of shingle. I live across the street from artists and they approve! My favorite thing about working with this trusted, local company, is that I didn't need to get a PhD in roofs and become the supervisor to the contractor. After the installation, I am noticing how the vents were painted to match the shingle color. I love the look of our cricket behind our chimney. Our Patio cover is tied-back into the roof. We never discussed the details about how they would handle this specific region of the roof. I reviewed it today and they planned and executed this so well--without me pointing it out or pestering them to create a solution. This installation was performed during the pandemic. The crew used appropriate social distancing measures with the customers. Dwight always wore a mask when interacting with customers. (The competitors did not want to wear masks during consultation). After touring my home and discussing the project I had in mind he had a detailed multi-page proposal for me. The first bed I received from a contractor was literally an email that went something like, Kitchen: 15k, Bathroom: 10k, Garage: 15k...Not very assuring. Shawn and his team were assuring from the get go. Communication with everyone on the team from his right-hand man, Oscar, and design wiz, Sara, to the plumber and electrician were streamlined by use of an app called Slack they use. This was so useful when you are working on a mult-month job and always have a ton of little questions or concerns. I could easily just shoot it out into the app and anyone on his team could respond. I loved that. And these guys are top-notch. Oscar did some amazing things in here. When we found an unexpected load-bearing beam, he expertly engineered a huge beam across the near-length of the kitchen that allowed us to fully open up the area...without hiring an engineer (my decision). That thing was solid. Then he took my dated fireplace and lathered it in multiple layers of concrete and mortar to make what is now a piece of modern art. Sara and Shawn both have an eye for design. When I sent a photo of one of my bathrooms to a friend she told me it looked with the W. In a few areas of the house they kind of nudged me to let them have some artistic leave and I am so glad they did. My master bath is now a study in what you should do for any small bathroom space and my laundry room has added about 100+ square feet to the home and functions as a mud room. I worked with Shawn on the design and he was always openminded about what I wanted to do and willing to provide suggestions or recommendations. His team of subcontractors did quality work and were respectful of me and my home. I had lots of people in and out of my house and had full trust in them. Most importantly, Shawn is an excellent communicator. He is always a text or phone call away, and would make time in his busy schedule to drop by the house and meet with me as needed. I have heard horror stories from my friends of contractors who disappear in the middle of a project or fail to respond to requests for updates or questions. I had none of these problems with Shawn. My renovation turned into a much bigger project in terms of the amount of changes that were made, but it never felt hopeless or endless, and the end result made it all worth it. We initially reached out to GIS because my engagement party was being held at my family's home, and we needed the interior repainted. We also decided to replace the outlets for a fresher look. Tony and Mark were the ones who came out to get everything started, and the inside looks absolutely beautiful now! After the party, we decided to take things a step further and have the wood flooring in our living room replaced to match the rest of the house. Once again, Tony, Mark, and their team were incredible, fast, detail-oriented, and so professional. The attention to detail during both the removal and installation of the flooring really stood out. During that project, my grandmother mentioned a few floorboards in her bedroom that had started to buckle. When Mark came to inspect, he discovered moisture beneath the boards and immediately walked us through all possible scenarios. Together with Tony, he helped us find a solution and identified that the issue came from a window that hadn't been properly sealed, allowing water to leak inside. While that was unexpected, we were so thankful for their honesty and transparency throughout the process. Once the window, wall, and flooring were repaired, her room has never looked better! We also had the inside and outside of our fireplace redone, which looks amazing, along with refreshed caulking in both bathrooms that really gave the spaces a clean, updated look. Contractors & Small Businesses -- Read This Before Working With GIS Contracting LLC…read more My HVAC company was subcontracted by GIS Contracting LLC, owned by Tony Gomez, to do the mechanical work at the Williamson County Bagel Shop. We completed the job in full, on time, and under a signed contract. After the work was done, Tony Gomez and GIS Contracting LLC refused to pay the remaining $13,600 they owe us. Repeated invoices, calls, and emails have been ignored thill this day 08/14/25. This is not just bad business -- it's a breach of trust that hurts local contractors who show up, do the work, and expect to be paid what was promised. If you're a contractor, supplier, or business owner, think twice before working with GIS Contracting LLC or Tony Gomez. Get every protection in writing, and be prepared to enforce it. Learn from my experience before it becomes yours. PS: GIS will comment under here saying the matter has been resolved but in fact nothing was ever resolved.

We've been in the house 3 years now. Long enough to find all the little things that inevitably show up. There were precious few of them. So far we've had exactly one thing that we thought might be Native's responsibility to resolve but when we called them to see if they would be willing to discuss it they just sent two guys over and fixed it. No charge. No discussion. Just fixed it. Now we have had some stuff that we wanted to change, like a door that opened out that we felt would be better opening in. We contracted them to do it and they took care of it quickly, professionally, and at a cost slightly less than the quote from a local general handyman. Recently we had a crack in one of our big picture windows. It gets a lot of bird strikes and this looked like what happened this time. We called them and they came out, took the measurements, and a couple weeks later the replacement window showed up. We're waiting until it gets warmer to do the install, but it will be Native doing it. They are also going to do the solar upgrade later this year. One more string should make our house net negative, meaning we'll actually be able to sell energy back to our Co-op. We'll be a power plant! Seriously, ask anybody you know that has built a house. Ask them if they are still on good terms with their builder. Then ask them if their builder would be their first choice for any repairs. The answer for both will be 'Hell no!' I promise you. Our answer with Native is Hell Yes!
