I must say, I'm very particular when it comes to buying my glasses. The person helping me was very patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. What a wonderful and fun experience! My husband and I went in together for eye exams and to pick out new frames. Heidy, Judy, and Dr. Kellner were fantastic!! My husband was having a difficult time finding frames he liked, and Judy flew in with her wonderful style and personality and found the perfect frames for him. I went there to get my glasses and contacts measured and left unhappy because the doctor decided that I should use bifocal contacts instead of univision which is what I have used for 25 years. It was upsetting that he said he was going to give me a prescription for what I needed rather than for what I wanted. He made me wear one set bifocals and although I explained I was not able to read with them he said I would adjust. I left that Saturday but called on Monday and told the office I could not read with those contacts. He said I should come back to adjust the bifocals. I did not go back and went to an ophthalmologist and got a new prescription. The shock was that when I went to Costco to get the new contacts they told me IGlasses already had got an authorization for the bifocal contacts. Before I left I told the optician I did not want to buy those contacts.When I called to complain I was told they seek authorization from your insurance for not only the visit but for glasses and contacts they get to make sure you can pay those charges. This was my experience and I don't think that is right. read more

This optical has a very great environment! they have awesome customer service, the young lady in the front desk ,Heidi was very friendly,cute and very helpful. I only went in to check out the frames they had since i was planning on getting some new ones and schedule a contacts exam. She was very helpful and suggesting products i might be interested in and did not harass me with telling me to buy the whole store like other opticals usually do. She heard what i had to say and was exact type of styles i was looking for,understood it , and picked a few frames that i actually liked. There was also a gentleman there, James who was also very friendly and funny. He also gave me few more good suggestions. I had a great experience here and would recommend it 100% to anyone, great customer service, and very nice and exclusive products. read more

iGlasses in 4 Corners is quite simply the finest Optique Gallery I have ever been to and I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years. It is the ONLY store in this area where you can get high end stylish frames plus excellent care and service. The husband and wife team who run the place do a superb job and I can see incredibly well due to an excel;lent eye exam also. If you want a unique frame, excellent lenses plus great service and you don't mind paying a little more for great care, iGlasses is the place for you. Its a great environment!! read more

I really enjoyed my visit to this business. I have been eyeing their beautiful frames since they came into the neighborhood and their service made the experience even better. When I came to pick out frames and get fitted to have them ordered, the young woman who helped me was extremely through and helpful. She also did her best to discount my order which was fantastic! The best part of my experience was actually picking my glasses up. The store closes at 6 and I was running late so I gave them a call to see if someone would wait for me. The co-owner answered the phone and told me to take my time and that he would wait for me. At the time I assumed he had to stay to do work anyway, but I was still impressed. When I got there he gave me materials to take out my contacts to make sure my glasses fit well and the prescription was correct. He made sure to explain to me the special rules that apply to my lenses (which are made of a special material, not all of their lenses are made of it), such as not to let another store apply heat to the frames to bend them without removing the lenses. Otherwise they would be ruined. I really appreciated the time he took to make sure I understood. He also set me up with several cleaning cloths and a bottle of cleaning solution that he said I could have refilled any time in the store. I left feeling so excited about my new glasses! THEN as I was sitting in my car preparing to leave the parking lot I noticed him walking to his own car, which made it clear that he had taken the time to stay after hours just to wait for me! Not usually in Woodmoor at a time they're open. Spotted them near where I parked. Fast inexpensive repairs, nice people.

My review only concerns Dr. Bruce Lazarow. I do not have experience with any of the other professionals at this business. I called this business intially to make an appoint with Dr. Schwartz...the person answering the phone abruptly told me that I didn't need to see an opthalmologist unless I had a diagnosed vision problem and that an optometrist was fine. He suggested Dr. Bruce Lazarow and my son and I showed up for our appt. 15 mins early to get paperwork done, etc. Dr. Lazarow came out of his exam room to fetch us at the appropriate appointment time without introducing himself. Once we sat down in his exam room the first words out of his mouth were advising us that he had taken the liberty to check our insurance and found out that we don't have any. He told us that out of three patients that he was to see who had coverage with United Health Care, he wan't able to establish coverage for any of them, including my son. He added that United Health Care had already gone "under" in the District of Columbia and it was only a matter of time before they also went bust in Maryland. He kept telling us that our son's insurance couldn't be verified on his office hardware. It's understandable that people want to get paid for their services, so I offered to call United Healthcare right in front of him and verify our coverage, which I was sure of. Prior to my offer, he had suggested under his breath that we take a seat back out in the waiting area and try to clear this up on our own. It's not until I assured him that it would take only a few minutes to get United Healthcare on the phone that he agreed. I called UHC from the exam room, got a rep on the line who confirmed my son's coverage and then I handed the cellphone to Dr. Lazarow to confirm on his own. He proceeded to ask the UHC rep the same questions that I had and got affirmative responses just as I had -- our son had insurance for vision, there was no copay/deductible for the exam, and that they reimbused at the rate of $65 for an exam. He didn't seem satisifed and continued to ask random questions like, "I don't understand how I am supposed to bill, can you tell me again". After sitting through this for more than was reasonable, I began to get the picture.... Dr. Lazarow wasn't crazy about the reimburseable rate and had better/ more highly compensatable visits to fullfill. If that isn't the reason, then the only other logical explanation for this kind of behavior is incompetence. Is there any other reason why Dr. Lazarow acted in this fashion. I wonder how many of his other patients were greeted and grilled in this fashion?? There is often denial of discrimination when things like this occur but if economical discrimination wasn't the culprit, was there something else about an African American young man accompanied by his mother coming in for a routine eye exam that led to us being treated this way? I'll leave that conclusion up to you..... I can only say that I hope this isn't routine exam practice for Dr. Lazarow. It's infuriating to show up to an appointment and follow all reasonable protocol, go beyond reasonable protocol and be treated in this way. What was he thinking?? read more

I went to this store after reading positive reviews. However, it turned out to be a great disappointment. I came with my child for eye exam at our appointment and gave a receptionist, young man, my insurance card. A while later he told me later there was something wrong in my insurance so he could not find my child's information from it. Then he suggested me to come back to the store at a certain time after I check with my insurance company. So I came home and called my insurance company to confirm that everything is fine. We waited a couple of hours and came back to the store and explained what I heard from insurance company. The same person received my insurance card. After a while, I still did not hear anything from him so I asked him. Then he started to do something and told me later that there was still a problem. Then he picked up the phone and called the insurance company - I am not sure why he did not do it sooner. He did not even speak to anyone on the phone and walked to someone in the store and asked something. Then he came up to me that they did not accept my insurance. I was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism. It was too late to go to another store and we just wasted entire afternoon for nothing. I believe he should have told us at our first visit that they do not accept my insurance because I provided all my insurance information from the beginning. I do not understand how the store let the person without any basic information deal with customers. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. Had to go back multiple times, but wound up with a pair of glasses now that I love! Had read great reviews and wanted to LOVE it. I had a particular type of glasses in mind- rimless, lightweight SwissFlex. I was talked out of getting this brand and decided on a different, but similar brand. It seemed to take a long time for the glasses to come in, but I was excited to get them and liked them. Judy and David were nice. When the glasses came in, they had yellow markings all over the lenses. Place was extremely disorganized and chaotic and I was very rushed. I tried them on but was not even offered a mirror to see how they looked or check if they were crooked on my face. I also found out that I should have gotten the anti-reflective coating and was disappointed that the young guy who I originally met there did not explain the pros and cons of this coating. But it was too late to get that. I was really taken aback by how I was treated there that day, and after getting home I saw that they were crooked on my face, one nose pad was cutting into my nose until it was raw and painful, and there were some lines on the lenses that I couldn't tell if they were scratches or left over from the yellow markings that didn't get completely removed. I drove back again during hours they were supposed to be open and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for the day due to lack of electricity! Disappointing and a waste of my time and gas to drive out there. I tried again the next day after calling first to be sure they were open. I explained to Judy how extremely disappointed I was in my experience with picking up the glasses and how rushed I was at that time. She apologized and agreed that it was hectic and that the glasses should not have had all the yellow lines left on them (these were $600 glasses!). So we started over and they adjusted them again. I was pleased with the glasses. However, after about a week (and treating them very carefully because they were rimless), one morning I woke up, put them on and the temple fell off. So, back to iGlasses again. David kindly offered to exchange (for $200 more) the glasses for a pair that he said are flexible and would not fall apart as easily (turns out they were the SwissFlex ones I had originally wanted!). These had to be ordered and, again it took a long time for them to come in. I was going out of town and was told they would be arriving at the shop that Friday between 8 and 10am. I arrived at 9am, anxious to wear my new glasses on my trip. However, the shop doesn't open until 10 am - turns out they were not delivered and David was quite apologetic and did offer to ship them to me overnight once they arrived. I said no problem, thanks, but I prefer to just pick them up when I get back in town. It was disappointing to have to wait longer to get them, but I had already waited this long so . . . When I returned, I picked them up and I was unsure about the temple earpiece (molded plastic piece that curves around the ear). It was recommended because "you can play tennis with them on and they won't come off." I don't play tennis. Of course, I do want my glasses to stay on, not fall apart, etc. but it turned out that I could not stand these curved over-the-ear temple pieces. They hurt my ears, gave me a headache and made it next to impossible to take on and off without totally destroying your hair style (if you have any hair at all)! David seemed extremely annoyed (really unbelievable attitude for someone selling expensive eye glasses!) and I was not at all demanding or rude - quite the contrary, I believe I had been extremely patient with all the previous bad advice (about the anti-reflective coating, curved temple piece, flimsy frame that fell apart with barely any use, etc) and all the delays in receiving glasses. However, David did agree to switch the temples to ones that he said are "close to matching the bridge." Again, I felt rushed and could barely get a look at them in a mirror to judge how they looked. After getting home with them I realized the new temples did not match or color coordinate with the bridge at all! The new temples were an orange-y coral plastic - extremely cheap and looked terrible (in my opinion) with the bridge of the glasses (tortoise pattern). I called & left a message asking David to call me back - no call back from him and I noticed it was after 6pm (when the shop closes!). So I called back and David answered. He was rude, abrupt, irritated, & I was just amazed that anyone in sales would treat a customer that way!!! I told him so. He offered to allow me to come back in and look at other temples, pick any one pair they had and he would switch them. I agreed this would be helpful and seemed fair. Now I have the original glasses I wanted after $800 much ado and trips to the shop (no discounts or apologies). Good luck with getting your new glasses! Heidi was great!!! read more

The shop has cool frames, but get everything in writing. Frames are often advertised as free until it's time to pay - then you're told that frames are only free if you don't have insurance. This is not disclosed upfront. David, one of the owners, talks fast as if to say "trust me." My family had purchased several pairs of glasses form this shop each year for several years. I talked with Dave to buy a pair of the "free" frames for sunglasses with simple thin prescription lenses - no progressive or scratch guard lenses. Thinking I could "trust" Dave since I had done business with the shop for years, I let him know what I wanted without getting it in writing. When I picked them up, the frames & lenses had everything that could be added at twice the price (including a cost for the frames since - as it was explained to me for the 1st time - I had insurance). When I later explained to Dave these are not the lenses I ordered, he initially told me why I should have them, and later replaced them "free" with Coke-bottle thick lenses and said that thin lenses would cost another $300. He also said he returned the initial lenses for a credit to the store even though I paid full price for them. Beware of the feigned bonhomie. read more
