This place is fabulous. They have a very unique offering of frames - lots of European and fashion-forward looks. Hardly would have expected this selection in the MD suburbs. Judy is a master at fitting frames. She picked a lens for me that I would NEVER have selected for myself, and not a day goes by when I don't get a compliment from a colleague, friend, or perfect stranger. David cut the lenses and they are perfect. I had to transition to progressives and they work perfectly, no dizziness although progressives take getting used to, but after the first 4 days or so something clicked and they have been perfect since. The staff is also very very nice. No issues that you get in some medical offices - such as attitude, lack of sensitivity to privacy, etc. These guys are great. I had an exam by Dr. Kellner and he is the bomb. Kind, funny, takes his time, explains things fully. Talked through the options on how to address the different issues - distance, close up, computer distance, etc. Really liked him. Now, glasses here are not cheap, but they do have a discount program that helps. Still, some of the frames are expensive. But you are paying for really high quality style and help selecting the right look. read more

I've heard several complaints from locals about this store, especially with the owner's custom service (or lack thereof). The prices are outrageous and they do not back their product. Simply fantastic customer service. I'm back home for a few weeks, my glasses broke, and I haven't had an eye exam in a while so I decided to try iGlasses out. I am so happy that I did. The eye exam: One of my first fun eye exams. The doctor was quick but thorough and seemed to be enjoying himself. I had a great time chatting with him. Picking out glasses: Everyone was really helpful with finding good frames. They explained how hard corners and larger glasses make the sides larger with a high prescription. I never really thought about this before, but it makes sense. Within two minutes we had a frame that I loved. Lenses: They have all the usual lens features, and they take VSP so my lenses ended up being pretty reasonably priced all things considered. They kept me on the same contacts but recommended a new contact solution, so I'll try that out and see what I think. Paying: No nonsense. Had a breakdown of what insurance payed for, and how much for each addition to the lens (high index, anti glare, photochromic, etc ...). Truly a 5 star experience, and I hope that they keep doing what they're doing! Happy to see great new local businesses moving into the four corners area. read more

We had a blast! My husband and I went in for contact lens exams and had an excellent time. Dr Lazerow was very knowledgeable and was able to see each of us immediately. Once the exams were finished, Judy and Colleen did an excellent job assisting us with our insurance and the purchase of contacts and new lenses for our glasses. iGlasses has the ability to adjust lenses on site, so we were able to walk our with the correct prescriptions in our glasses that day (our lenses were in stock). The contacts came in promptly within the next two days. This was a huge plus, as some places can take one to two weeks to send your glasses out to a lab and order contacts. I just had the most enjoyable time getting new glasses at iGlasses. The eye doctor is very thorough and very funny. The staff are incredibly helpful and spent over an hour helping me pick out new frames. And the owner gave me his Starbucks card to get a drink next door while he shaped the lenses for my sunglasses. First off - I have one of "those" prescriptions. Nobody at iGlasses was even remotely fazed! I got not one but two pairs of glasses that look great and fit my face and my style perfectly. These are the best glasses I have ever worn. I feel like I see in high def now and I've received more compliments on my glasses in the last month than I ever have - and I've been wearing glasses since first grade. I've been going to iGlasses for a few years now, and until now, I loved the place. The people working out front are pleasant and professional, Dr. Kellner is a wonderful optometrist, and the service has always been prompt and fair. I recommended this place to several people, and if nothing goes wrong, you'll probably have a great experience. But if something does go wrong and you end up talking to David, the owner, God help you. I had a pair of frames I bought elsewhere, and as I'd done several times before, I brought them to iGlasses to get the lenses made and put in. This time, however, they snapped the frames. Fine, I had signed a waiver that absolved them of liability since they were outside frames, but the woman who worked there was kind enough to offer me 50% store frames. I wasn't interested in the store frames, so at her suggestion, I called to discuss the situation with the owner, David, and asked if there was any other solution we could work out. I literally was unable to finish a single sentence. He was rude, insulting, unprofessional and completely inappropriate. He interpreted the fact that I was even asking him a question as an "attack." In the course of 2 minutes, he offered me a pair of free frames if I bought a pair of full-price frames, rescinded that offer, told me he had "fired 4 or 5 clients this year," demanded that I "shut up," then told that he "didn't know who I voted for," but that I should think about what he'd said over the weekend, and he'd be in on Tuesday. And then he hung up on me. Now I have to find a new glasses place. Sigh. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. I am middle aged, long time glasses wearer, who wanted a lot from my frames - fit, color, and relevance (in other words, some trendiness, but still flattering). Usually I settle for a frame that mostly works, but this time I wanted all of my criteria to be met. The clerk listened well, quickly figured out what size frame I needed, and helped me find small frames that fit my criteria. Including on-line sites, I had tried almost 10 shops before getting the selection and customer service here that allowed me to choose my new glasses. They even saved me money on the lens - by explaining that the more expensive composite would not make a difference at my correction level. Wow what customer service! I got my new glasses there and Judy and Dave couldn't have been nicer. She helped me pick the right frame, showing me dozens, then he measured me for the perfect fit. I am overwhelmingly happy Mr. and Mrs. Pollock and Dr. Schwartz have come to 4 corners. From Colleen at the front desk on I felt as if I were welcomed into a family (ok admitted, maybe a little dysfunctional family, but doesn't that make them fun)! And ok maybe "we" are loud and enthusiastic, but isn't that what we, as consumers and patients want to feel the right blend of professionalism and comfort? When you know you are in good hands and yet can relax and be yourself? I like my new frames so much and I can actually see better because of the frame style. Who knew? They know. I have never, in my glass wearing life experienced an actual professional fitting of frames to face, age, use, prescription. And it was offered to pop my old lenses in while I wait, can you believe it? However; the eye glass frames were a bonus, I had gone for contacts, and even though I needed a special accommodation, (which I was not even aware of until Dr. Schwartz explained it to me) she accessed my needs immediately and I left wearing my contacts. (Oh to be able to drive with "Cheap Sunglasses" on again)..YAY. I recommend to you get away from the "puppy mills" of eye glass places, which I don't need to name. You know who you are and we have all fallen prey to your tricky devices. Yes, pay a little more, of course; but, you are considering your quality of life here. Your sight. I can't tell you what a different I-Glasses has made in my life in the span of a hour or two. (Oh and BTW, I will probably be by there this morning, just for some support in putting my new contacts in and then later to take them out as I learn, but do you think there is anyplace else I could actually go and get that kind of support)? I-Glasses is like the businesses of my youth, full service; full support, but not as stuffy and fun throw in. UPDATE: I am changing this review because I stayed with IGlasses for a year post the previous review (also posted below) so I have more information. I reduced the stars from 5 - 4 for only one reason. But before I get there, let me say, I still HIGHLY recommend this place. I have frames that for the first time ever, strangers have been stopping me and say "oh those are cool!" Judy helped me pick these out along with Dr. Kelner. And I have to say, I wasn't sure about them at first. (Just because I used to always go for safe, boring frames.) But they have made me dig funky and unique eyewear. I swear, I hate that I have to wear scleral lenses now because I love how my glasses make me look. With my eye disease (now post corrective surgery), I cannot have 20/20 in my glasses. I'm about 20/30 or 20/40. But I chance it just to look stylish here and there (haha). I loved Judy and Colleen (the office manager). They always made me feel welcome. In fact, Colleen saves this updated review and critique. Dr. Kelner replaced Dr. Lazerow -- which I'm surprised Dr. L got as many negative reviews and not Dr. Schwartz. IMO, they are both cut from the same cloth. They do NOT fuss with the business/insurance stuff and make no bones about it. And they are VERY (sometimes brutally) honest. I only saw Schwartz once, but I picked this up from her immediate. That being said, they are fair and get their jobs (the eye part) done. They may serve things raw instead of smothered in honey, but you get fed -- if you know what I'm saying. I had no issues with either really. Back to Dr. Kelner, he was/is AWESOME! I agree with the Yelper that said he's hilarious. Absolutely he is! And he makes sure that you get what you need, and it does not matter how many tries it takes! He was patient and quick at the same time. Now that I'm in SC, I miss him so! Ok ... the reason why reduced the stars, has more to do with a run in with the owner David. To be fair, my situation was VERY arduous as kerataconus patients usually have tedious drama behind their fittings. This is why places who cater to hard-to-fit are great finds. My ONLY issue, is that I had been accused of ripping off the business by refilling a prescription (a correction they kindly offered) more than allowed. Collen, who saved my butt, was diligent in working with me and tracking things to make sure I could get my correction in the time allotted. But somewhere there were miscommunications that did not make it to David. (I had visited for other issues, so I think he just got confused.) Still, I was very surprised in how I dealt with, considering that everyone in the office knew how apologetic I was given my rare situation. Colleen saved the day -- as she always does -- and cleared things up within 2 minutes of speaking with here. (Note: go to Colleen for biz and David for lenses and all will go well!) I'm not upset at the situation, but I was apologized to by everyone but David. And that, to me, was not good dealings. (Another note: We are annoyingly hard to fit, but Keratoconus patients spend a lot of $$$ OUT OF POCKET.) That said, I still love them all, including David because he's a genius. So do still go here, especially if you're hard-to-fit. But I had to be fair given the honest reviews given before me. read more

Extremely disorganized. The owners and staff appear to not communicate with each other very clearly about what they have told customers.

My mom and I went into iGlasses just to kill time. The owner, Judy, was very inviting and helpful. She looked up my vision insurance and gave me a thorough rundown of what's covered and how much things would cost for me. I've been afraid to use my benefits! She made it very clear that I should take advantage of them while I have them. She didn't try to nickel and dime and show me glasses that were out of my league. My insurance covered $130 of my frames and she found glasses for $134! Since I was visiting my mother and had to fly out the following day, she told me to come in the morning and she'd get the eye doctor to come in early so he can see me. He was a delight! Actually, everyone was. After my exam, she told me to give her 15-20 minutes for my glasses to be made. We went next to door get a coffee and my glasses were done as soon as my coffee was. It was a great experience! I feel sassy with these new specks! read more

She provides consistent top notch service without trying to sell you more than you need in terms of quality lenses and/or frames. I can't wear contacts and have never been happy with glasses recommended by other optical stores' salespeople. Colleen is the rare person who has the eye for telling you exactly what shape and color frames work and don't work with your face shape, eye color, complexion, age, etc. Now I actually have a pair I like. I moved to the area less than a year ago and was used to an ophthalmologist in North Carolina who has done a wonderful job correcting my vision. I have a fairly complex prescription and optometrists have often found it difficult to get the right prescription because of my extreme astigmatism. I avoid the national eyeglass chains for that reason. My previous eye doctor in NC was good and I even considered taking a day (or two) to travel 8 hours one way to get my eye exam. However, I thought I would try and find a local place in the Silver Spring area. Was I ever surprised! Dr. Schwartz was thorough and very personable.She did an amazing job with my prescription and explained everything along the way. A young man approached to me and started explaining to me which frame would best fit and was on duty until i left, my only concern was hearing a woman with red hair in the back constantly using foul language and talking loud from her room. I don't think I can say enough good things about this place. I had been told by another store downtown that my Silhouette frames which I had loved couldn't be used for new lenses and that I would have to buy another pair. I had then gone to another place where I got what was possibly the worst-fitting pair of glasses - and the worst quality glasses -- I had ever owned. Not only did I get a great eye exam at iGlasses, but they took one look at my Silhouette frames and couldn't figure out why I'd been told they couldn't be used again. These things are supposed to last decades. So I've been wearing my new glasses for a couple of weeks and I absolutely plan to go back for some computer use glasses in the near future. I walked in and the store was crazy busy. Judy asked me if I wouldn't mind waiting and this was totally fine since I was 20 minutes early. I went next door, got a coffee, and then came back. They were ready to help me in minutes. I went back, saw the eye doctor, he gave me my prescription and then the fun started. I worked with Colleen and Judy to find glasses that fit my new hair cut. Judy, as previously stated, pulled out the perfect pair in about 30 seconds flat. In love!!! Also, Colleen spent a lot of time talking with me about what insurance covered, what they didn't, when iGlasses' discount would be better or insurance's would be. I could not ask for nicer staff! The parking is iffy in the front, but there is tons in the back of the strip. Couldn't give higher praise for iGlasses if I wanted to! Go there!!! read more
