First of all, not the easiest coffee shop to find. IDYLLIC COFFEE and Tea is hidden from the Main Street. No food options, very limited pastries nothing to brag about. Very disappointing in the limited drink options. Service nothing to brag about, We walked up to the cool looking trailer counter place order and wait for my name yo be called. Now the menu and ambiance I will say Menu is very limited, Vietnamese Coffee, Cold Brew, Iced Latte, Matcha and teas. Ambience is very intriguing with classic cars inside a cute section where you can buy shoes, another adorable section of a clothing boutique with a couch to sit and enjoy your drink. They have a couple of Photo Booth inside. Another section of music albums with a section to sit. I will say ambiance is very intriguing. It s a total warehouse industrial feeling. They definitely lack more options of coffee options and maybe add food or snack options. I personally don't think it's worth going out of your way for this particular coffee hidden shop. read more

IDYLLIC is kinda hidden. It's one of several shops in this, for lack of a better word, compound, called 8th and Santa Fe, that includes an actual auto shop and a florist. You kinda have to enter through the back which can be accessed via an alley off of Santa Fe. This coffee shop is INCREDIBLY HUGE. Huge enough to have multiple spaces designated for retail, coffee roasting area, several study and lounge areas and 3 cars! Which reminds me, they had on display three of the hubby's absolute fave cars: vintage Porsche, a 3 Series and a Land Cruiser. The girlies were trying to decide which matcha drink to get, staff astutely recommended the sticky mango matcha. It was a hit! The CORTADO was tart and delicious. Parking was difficult to find. This might be because there was some sort of special edition clothing or shoes happening and there was even a line going around the street corner. read more

This was such a cool find in Arts District - such a big space with 3 cars inside, a lot of seating/working areas, and even a photo booth (not free though). Very insta worthy! Holy cream top, dessert of my dreams, with a Korean coconut butter cookie on top, sprinkled with Maldonado salt, that I wish I did not know existed. I will dream about eating a whole box of these cookies for the rest of my life Generous amount of cream top, too, and the coffee underneath was nice and strong without being overwhelming for me. Once the cream mixed in a little, it was smooooooth and delightful. Some sort of drizzle on top of the cream top, which I didn't catch but which was soooo good. This will definitely become a craving for me. This space is fun, open and nicely cool on a hot day. The cars are neat, there is other fun stuff to look at. Not actually a ton of places to sit, unless you don't mind getting social w a stranger. Most tables were taken up by one person on a laptop. Nice music, but maybe a little too loud for studying...ymmv. I really enjoyed my experience! The ambiance is a vintage car show room in a warehouse setting where you can sit, relax and enjoy a coffee. They have two genic film photo booths for $11 that comes with 2 prints. I ordered an iced latte with whole milk and vanilla syrup. For an iced latte, the price was $6/7 and size was decent! It was tasty and no complaints. The service was quick and there was plenty of seating on a mid morning Thursday. For parking, there's street parking but also a parking lot that was very convenient. Possibly one of the coolest coffee shops I've been to in LA. Idyllic Coffee is tucked beneath the I-10 freeway and definitely not the most obvious location, but that's part of its charm. It feels like a true hidden gem you'd never expect to find in this part of the city. While the surrounding area can feel a bit sketchy if you're unfamiliar with it, the coffee shop itself and the parking lot are clean, well-kept, and felt safe enough to park and enjoy your visit without worry. The concept is especially cool...They've transformed what feels like a large garage or industrial unit into a retail space in the front, with the coffee bar tucked toward the back. Along the way, you're greeted by a Porsche, an old-school BMW, and even what looked like a vintage bus in the rear. The entire space feels thoughtfully curated and makes for an amazing photo spot. Drink-wise, I ordered the Vietnamese Eispienner. It was very well made and definitely on the strong side but in the best way. There was a bit more ice than I personally prefer, but overall I really enjoyed it. I gave this place a solid 5 stars, not only for the quality of the coffee but also because the staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. It's a bit farther south in LA than I usually go, but I would absolutely come back. When we arrived, the lot was almost full, but we snagged the last parking spot. Spaces started opening up closer to closing time. I can only imagine how popular it gets during the daytime. I'd 10/10 recommend this spot to anyone. read more

I was really excited walking in from the lot, plenty of e30s and etc. There were a lot of people chatting and taking pictures of the cars. There was even a little shop selling merch. Good vibes. The music was a bit loud and clashing with the other room's music. That also made everyone talk that much louder. So unless you have noise cancelling headphones or you are okay with the noise, then studying here isn't too bad. But personally, I think the cafe is better for socializing and such. It's a bit chaotic to study here. I got the Vietnamese Einspanner. I agree with the other review that said that this doesn't qualify as vietnamese coffee lol. It wasn't strong at all. I would just call it a regular einspanner. But it tasted kind of watered down. My fiance got an Americano and he said even that was bad. How could you make a bad Americano :( Too bad. I'm loving these cafes with cool themes in recent years. IDYLLIC is a cool concept that draws in car lovers. It's tucked in from Sante Fe Ave and I-10.. If you know where Maru is, just head south towards the black exterior buildings. No, not the defunct Playpen. Go down further and you'll see the signs. Anyways, we came here to check out the cool vibe. This place has 80s-90s type car theme in a warehouse. Tucked in the back is a roach coach where it serves as a coffee station. There was barely a line and the cashier seemed stressed after I asked where the coffee beans were sourced from and the same with their pastries. Basically ignored me as he turned and talked to his co worker. The only thing he heard from was cold brew. Charged the register and I paid and he disappeared in the back. Cold brew was decent. Service not so much. The spot is pretty cool though aside from the service. For coffee, I'm sticking to Maru though just up the street. read more

The place is very picture worthy and the photobooth was fun to take pics in. Matcha Einspanner(5/10): I ordered the drink with oat milk and it was so overpowering that I couldn't really taste the matcha. I enjoyed the cold foam and it tasted like there was condensed milk in it. Service(10/10): The worker greeted us and helped us pretty quick. Came here on a Monday afternoon Parking is street but we got lucky to park right up front The space is amazing !!!The exposed brick gives it that perfect mix of cozy and urban street vibe. When you walk in, you're greeted by old-school vinyls, giant speakers pumping 90s rap, and a front seating area where you can sip your coffee and yap away with a view of vintage Porsches. As you walk in further there is another seating area that has cool shoes for sale by Collegium and art on the wall. There's also a giant storage container that has bean bag to chill on and merch to purchase. As you go on further there's an awesome yellow carerra and a red bmw in the center. Which are surrounded by tables / chairs/couches for you to sit enjoy the vibes, yap or work etc. the chairs look like old airport chairs which is so fun and sustainable ! The coffee / drinks are made in a food truck type can which is pretty cool. The drink menu is simple, theres also snacks available to purchase. The staff is warm and welcoming, I was past my caffeine curfew, my husband's iced café latte was so good I might have to break the rules next time. They also have a fun photobooth! Vietnamese einspanner coffee was great, I loved the cracker on top of the foam. What makes this place really outstanding is their interior design. I loved that they remodeled the warehouse and gave that industrial look with the open high ceilings, beams, and brick walls. Fancy classic sportscars, unique chairs and furnitures, concrete floor, art pieces on the wall, photobooths, container box merch shop, everything about this place was very aesthetically pleasing. Checked out Idyllic in the Arts District, and it's definitely a cool spot with a unique setup. The kitchen is inside a converted short bus, and the space has that aesthetic, industrial warehouse vibe; lots of homegoods and even a few cars on display. We ordered the matcha latte and the Vietnamese einspanner. The einspanner was bold and strong, definitely high-quality coffee, but just a heads-up: it doesn't come sweetened. You'll want to ask for agave, vanilla, or simple syrup if you like a little balance. The matcha latte was decent, pretty similar to 7 Leaves' matcha soy. At $6.50, it was an okay choice, but there were clumps in the matcha, and one bitter clump kind of threw off the first few sips. Matcha shouldn't be clumpy, so that was a bit disappointing. The space itself is visually interesting, but the dusty cars kind of took us out of the vibe. With how curated everything else felt, it stood out; a quick wipe-down would go a long way in keeping the space feeling polished. Parking is in the back and varies depending on the time of day. Staff was friendly and attentive, and one of them even offered a pump of vanilla on the house to help mellow out the bitterness of the einspanner. That kind of service really stood out. If I could give this place a 0, I would. I was really excited to try this trendy coffee shop for their matcha, but the experience was honestly awful. The service was extremely bad and made me feel uncomfortable the entire time I was there. The employee who helped us (tattoos, saggy ears, working the register) had a noticeably rude and sarcastic attitude from the start. When my boyfriend asked about the matcha-cano, the response already had an edge to it, but we tried to ignore it. (It's our first time trying the place out) Then when I ordered a matcha latte, I said it clearly and was met with a long, awkward stare with no response, like I wasn't even understood. Instead of helping guide the order like any normal barista would, they responded in a sharp, sarcastic tone asking "is that hot or cold?" and continued in the same way when asking about milk and sweetness. It felt like they expected me to list every detail upfront instead of just doing their job and asking in a normal, respectful way. The matcha itself also didn't meet expectations at all. I'd rate the matcha a 2/10. It tasted like milk rather than matcha. The color was dull and was not sweetened at all even after asking for it to be sweetened with vanilla. Overall, between the uncomfortable interaction and the disappointing drink, this place was not worth it at all and I would not recommend it unless you are going for the cars which are really cool. Seems like the employee that took my order needs to get trained on costumer service and a reminder that her job is to take orders and assisting paying customers. read more

Saw this on Instagram and just had to stop by for the concept. The location is in an unassuming part of the arts district but they do have helpful signs to guide you on the street. We went around 9 am and it was pretty empty. The staff were super helpful and efficient. It took under 5 minutes to get my order. Whoever decorated the place did a 10/10 job. From the cars to the music it was great ambiance.
