I got a cold brew with cold foam and it was great! The owner helped me pick a coffee bag to take home and explained the notes to me. The inside was really open and pretty, great for studying or to have a coffee date!
Had to find a good cafe quickly in downtown LA to be able to attend Armenian class and boy am I glad I stumbled upon Soro! It's soo hard to find a good cafe with ample room and if you need to study this is the place to come to in downtown! Not only is it pretty spacious, they also have lots of seating spots, outlets and did I mention their matcha lattes are so so good and inexpensive?? Quite the steal. The owners were very nice and helpful with my questions. 진짜맛있어요!! Definitely coming back
Great light to medium roast options and flat white and wide selection of pour overs. They sell Sweet Bloom and idle hands coffee bags too.
wanted to try a new spot today for a work and was surprised to see such a nice, large workspace in this cafe. it's tucked away on a corner but worth a trip. the matcha was honestly just okay. it didn't have much depth too it and tasted kinda watery. the black sesame latte comes naturally unsweetened which is fair but i think it could've used a bit. overall it wasn't baaad but i wouldn't say i liked it very much. however, i'm willing to give it another try because maybe an off day as all four of us felt the drinks were just okay.
the soro latte was pretty good, perfect for when you're craving both coffee and matcha! the blueberry donut was DELICIOUS! it's expensive for how small it is ($4 each) but worth trying at least once. bonus: the texture of it was perfect; not dry at all and soft decently sized place; great place to do work or to socialize

I ordered a cold brew with black sesame cream top and it was amazing! The black sesame flavor really came through and wasn't overly sweet. The cold brew was also delicious with a strong flavor. Inside has plenty of seating and could be a great option for a coffee shop work day. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

First time at Soro Coffee and ordered the Soro latte. It had an interesting color gradient that caught my eye. There's blue syrup on the bottom, espresso + milk, matcha foam, and a piece of dried orange on top. It was an interesting combo that worked and tasted very refreshing on a hot day! Cafe is spacious, clean, and minimalist. I definitely want to come back and try other specialty drinks.
I stopped by this cafe recently on my way downtown and was very surprised at the cleanliness and the service. The service is exceptional, the employees and baristas are super nice and knowledgeable. I tried the black sesame latte and it was sooooo good. Not sweet, very foamy and tasty, would definitely come again for that latte. If you're in the area and looking for a quiet place to study or wfh, this is the place. A++ recommend.
What a truly wonderful coffee shop in the middle of DTLA. The pictures taken here are stunning and they don't do justice to the space of this location. Parking sucks cause it's downtown but if you get past that, this is a top 3 coffee spot in Los Angeles. The coffee served, Idle Hands Colombia, was exceptional. Being honest was probably the best cup of coffee I've this year. Wished it came in a larger size, and I'm rarely in this area for coffee but will definitely need to come back to try other items on the menu. One of the easiest 5 star reviews I've written this year.

WHAT I ORDERED: Black sesame cold brew THE DRINK: The cold brew was pretty standard and was pretty smooth. I was definitely impressed by the flavor of the sesame cream - not too overpowering yet flavorful and fragrant. I do wish the cream was a bit thicker, but it makes sense given that it usually comes on top of the latte rather than a cold brew. SERVICE: Great! They answered my questions about the menu. VIBES: Good place to get work done! Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: Yes, good amount of outlets throughout! * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, fast * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean * WATER: You can ask for free water * VOLUME: Not too loud * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Abundance of seats, and different types of seats too! I sat at the seats by the window but I saw there was also a communal table. There were some private nook type of rooms but I'm not sure if those were available for customers to use? * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions BOTTOM LINE: Will probably be a go-to now for when I'm downtown and need to do work! No parking in the area on Sunday. My boyfriend dropped me off. I went in and ordered for us. The wait was short and the cafe wasn't too busy. I stood around, listening to the classy music playing, while I waited for my drinks. There were many seats to sit in and it felt tranquil inside. read more
We rode to SORO coffee Saturday morning to check out their coffee. They have really interesting specialty drinks so we grabbed a SORO latte and an Americano with black sesame cream top. The server who took our drink order was very kind and friendly! The coffee shop itself was really spacious, which is rare and great because we had enough room for our motorcycle gear. It would also make a great space to work out of, because it's pretty minimalist and not loud. The drinks came out quickly and they were both really good! SORO latte is definitely the highlight! Who would have thought matcha and espresso paired together so well. They really found the perfect ratio of syrup, milk, espresso and matcha cream, when mixed together it tastes like a really good matcha latte but with added depth of flavour. The americano with black sesame cream top was good as well. Although I'd probably just get an americano next time. Their espresso tasted bold and delicious, I just wish the sesame cream top was more nutty and less creamy. That's totally just a personal preference. I'm definitely coming back again to try their other drinks! read more

I've been on a mission to try different Espresso Tonics around the city. Most "minimalist" type of restaurants don't do much for me but I found this one a bit warmer and welcoming. Staff was friendly and each drink brought something different to the table b - Espresso Tonic: Includes a Lemon wedge and is more acidic than others I've had so if you get stummy aches I don't recommend. But found the espresso to be bold tasting that paired nicely with the citrus. - SORO Latte: That Blue syrup is wild! No clue how it's made but I want it in every drink. The matcha here paired with the cream gives a nice mouth feel - Black Sesame: Solid if one dimensional. Really only got a little nuttyness and it was heavier on the cream. Nice little spot to plop in to and right near the library so get a little caffeine fix before a book run. read more

Popped in on a Monday morning in the office. This is a perfect location if you work nearby. It is a large space and looks like it would be easy to get some work/studying done here. What really stood out was the service, the man up front was so kind and welcoming. He went through their different signature drinks. I ordered the Yuzu matcha iced with oat milk. Alternative milks are an extra $1 which is pretty standard. The matcha was $9 which felt a bit on the high end and the cup wasn't all too large. However my drink was phenomenal. They put a generous amount of yuzu fruit/rinds into the matcha for flavoring. The worker up front was whisking the matcha in front of you. It wasn't too sweet with the citrus really complimenting that matcha flavor. Although my drink was $10 with tip, I would absolutely come back for the yuzu matcha as a treat yourself drink. read more
This coffee spot is the perfect location to sit down, get a little coffee, relax, and get some work done as there's plenty of seating in half the shop. The matcha latte was definitely the star of the show, not grainy whatsoever and the perfect sweetness. The cold brew with foam was, as expected, less sweet but just as refreshing. I actually prefer this locations cold brew + matcha foam compared to others that I've had because you still get that cold brew taste. The sweetness from the matcha foam doesn't overpower the bevvy at all. The cashiers were all very friendly and welcoming. read more

Working or studying spot vibes for sure! Huge space, and the corner at the back even complemented with TV, which could function as screen. This made it perfect pick for either solo guest or group. The only downside was certainly parking situation, which you might have expected given it's at downtown. The lady behind the order counter, who's also the barista, was super nice. Really appreciated her for helping me being more decisive when placing my order (lol) as I was initially torn between their Soro Latte and any Matcha drinks. She convinced me to go with the prior as she said it's her favorite. I got it for to-go just because finding parking seemed impossible even after few rounds trying! This drink was simply a beauty with those layers of colors. It featured that matcha espresso combo with matcha cream top and the sweetener was basically the blue syrup at the bottom. I might fancy the coffee to be slightly stronger, but it's overall good! Even the matcha flavor stood out despite just being in the cream. Not sure what the blue syrup made of, but the dose in this cup certainly suited those who fancied anything not overly sweet. read more

Discovered a new local coffee shop on my morning walk. Located on the corner of wilshire and grand is this charming family run coffee shop serving up some really good coffee + matcha. The space is roomy with plenty of seating, which is always a win in this area. I ordered their classic matcha latte w/ oat milk and loved the quality of the matcha they use. I asked for a little simple syrup and it came out perfect and exactly how I like it. A solid 9/10. It was lovely meeting the owners, Jeanie and her husband Rock(I really hope I'm spelling that right). If you're a local or in the area I highly recommend checking them out. A great addition to DTLA. read more

This is a really cute coffee shop, very clean and bright. I love all the available seats and there seemed to be a separate seating area away from the counter. I'm not sure if that's available to the public, I assume it is. I got the Soro latte, and it honestly tastes more like a matcha latte then anything. I think the matcha cream overpowered it once you mixed it in, recommended by the barista. I think it's a good drink but I don't think it gave me the caffeine boost that I needed. Cute place, definitely no parking lot or street parking as it's in DTLA. read more

Honestly? One of the better Matcha latte places in downtown LA. It really depends on where you are, but this is worth the walk. The owners are really nice, and the shop itself is really cleaned, has a nice vibe, and is nicely decorated. The Matcha latte itself itself was delicious, and didn't need anything more. Super cute, modern and spacious interior. A little hard to find because it's on a quieter street in downtown on a corner but worth the journey. It's close to the LA public library. Soro comes creeping up on you like Zoro! Caffeine kicks you so hard like a Burro! With drinks so tasty like a churro! At Disneyland with a caffeinated drink in your hand now what could be the happiest place in all of the land?! But before I continue with this jam let me tell you what hit me like Wham! The Pour Over of the Ethiopian kind had me so wowed up I was on rewind! Next up was the espresso and would I get it again? I guess so if I wanna be high then low! Last was the Soro latte and I gotta say it definitely had me going the right way! The presentation on all the drinks were beautifully arranged and they cane through with the flavors I was hoping for need I say more. Came here for an event Saturday morning and it was empty. The location is very clean, spacious and has a peaceful vibe. There are options of croissants, danishes, tea and coffee drinks. Staff are pleasant when serving you and it doesnt take long to get your item. read more

One of the best coffee shops in DTLA. Please note, this café is fully equipped to accommodate a workspace setup. The spacious interior includes computers, a TV, a printer, and even a separate room that I was told can be reserved. The coffee was delicious and carefully crafted. One note: lattes are unsweetened, so be sure to ask for sweetener if you prefer it that way. read more

Strong coffee & great ambiance. They have plenty of seating. The exterior is kind of unassuming. I was having lunch nearby with my coworkers. We came here afterwards for some caffeine. Owners and staff were friendly. There is free WiFi so you can get some work done too. I ordered the black sesame cream latte. I'd been meaning to try Soro Coffee for a while, and I happened to be in the area for errands to pop in and grab a drink. Inside is large and spacious, and I like the minimalist design. Baristas were friendly and kind, and I ordered a matcha cream top to-go. A little pricey at over $9 for a 12-ounce, but the matcha flavor was strong and overall was a creamy delight. This is such a beautiful cafe in downtown, especially for studying. They offer free WiFi, comfortable seating and so many great food/drink options. There are a couple of vegan options as well, which is always appreciated! When I went, there was an art exhibit towards the back promoting local and small artists! Really cool idea and the art was fantastic. The staff were friendly as well. I ordered the Moroccan Mint iced tea, very refreshing! I highly recommend and I think it's worth the visit. read more

I came in with my friend to get some coffee and matcha and we definitely left with a new favorite place to frequent! soro coffee is spacious and clean and would be a great place to do some work or to chit chat. the owners are so nice and are clearly very passionate about soro and the drinks, as they explained very patiently about any questions that we had. I got the black sesame latte and the black sesame cream was super fragrant but not too sweet and complemented the coffee well! my friend also enjoyed her matcha and thought it had a good matcha flavor and wasn't grainy or bitter. overall, I'm excited to come back the next time I'm in the office and am glad that I found a new favorite coffee place in the area! read more

Tried the Wilshire Fog (similar to a London Fog) and it was good. The space has a very big, open floor plan which makes it feel comfortable and not crowded. Service was fast, and everything from the seating area to the bathroom was clean and well kept. Definitely a nice spot to relax and grab a drink. read more

Okay, I'm obsessed with this new Korean-inspired coffee spot in Downtown LA Everything here is so aesthetic - clean space, ceramic cups, and the kind of calm vibe that makes you want to stay all day.
