Well, as I'm finally almost done writing reviews from mega-trip from 6 months ago, I can finally start catching up on much more recent reviews as well, such as this accidental find from a couple weeks ago when I was in DTLA. I wasn't looking for coffee specifically, just on my way to Arts District Brewing across the street (which, funny enough, I was also only going to because I got to an event around the corner at Death & Co early, to account for potential delays on the blue line that didn't happen.) I'm always curious to see what little coffee shops are selling, plus it was summer in DTLA, meaning hot as a mofo, so I was extremely interested in having a properly iced drink. I was initially especially excited to see that they sold affogatos - they're very good, and I hardly ever see them for sale, probably because it's the only reason a coffee shop would need a freezer? For $8 before tip though, I was hoping they'd use a quality brand of ice cream, ideally something local-ish, but at least a *good* brand. I asked which ice cream they used, I forget which one it was, but it was one of the mass-market grocery store brands. It is also very cool that they do a yuzu espresso tonic - Rose Park near me does one as well, and it is *very* good. Rose Park had previously been the only place I knew of that made that particular drink, and it is a very good idea. I decided to save a couple bucks, though, and just get a basic cold brew, for $6.25, which is pretty in line with craft cold brews I've gotten elsewhere. I can confirm, it's a solid cold brew. p.s. Doesn't impact my rating of this coffee shop at all, but I did learn, you absolutely can't bring drinks into Arts District Brewing even if they're nonalcoholic, so I had to chug the second half of the cold brew... was easy enough to do, given the heat, though. I was craving a cortado as Ive never tried one. I was exploring LA and I saw this really cool spot on Yelp so I decided to try it out. But the reviews kind scared me because a 3.8 score isn't good to me. the reviews were mostly for the service, which is something I usually try not to include in my score unless it was exceptionally bad, so I decide to give it a try despite the poor reviews. Yea, that guy (TEMU Bieber) in the front purposely ignored me for almost a full 3mins, I waited right there in the front, the machine faces the customers so there's no way he didn't see me as it is also right next to the counter to order. I wait right there and he doesn't look up, doesn't greet, doesn't acknowledge my existence for some time. Cool I said he's busy, let me go look at the cool merch they have, as the interior is very very nice but still under construction I believe. As I walk away to look at the merch another customer walks in, and he stops whatever he's doing, greets her and is super attentive and friendly to her (she may have been pretty attractive, but that's no the point lol) and then when I get back in line after her, he repeats the ignoring lol finally the owner walks out and we chatted, I believe he said he was Russian, I complimented him on the really cool store, and he was friendly. But it felt like the TEMU Bieber employee was rude and unwelcoming. yelp reviews don't lie, so many negative reviews on service and he is causing your business negative reviews, tell him to fix his attitude, the coffee was solid but not good enough to overlook getting treated rudely. First time & will be back. Super cute & I heard their latte options are good. Wanted to try the yuzu tonic matcha bc it was a hot day & it was good! Very tonic & lemon flavor - didn't get that matcha kick but it was very refreshing (not sweetened). The inside was very cool, no tables just benches. But there was a back patio that had tables & free wifi from cafe. Parking was a con.. it was a bit tough to find parking since a lot of metered for 2 hrs. As this cafe is located in dtla, parking is generally harder. They have a few street parking spots in front of the cafe ( I went on a Friday morning and was able to get the last spot! ) You may have to park a little further to get parking since downtown spots are a bit difficult. The outside of the cafe is nice and the inside has a great atmosphere! There is seating inside and outside (you take the back door out). They also have a restroom which is located in the back of the outside seating area. I ordered a berry pastry and the iced cortado. The berry pastry was good and I really enjoyed the blueberries on top as it added a sweet taste! The sides of the pastry though were a bit too dry and crispy for me, but if you enjoy crispy pastries then I definitely recommend it! I ordered the iced cortado, it isn't a signature drink, but it was recommended by other individuals. I had a strong taste, but was a bit too bitter for me; however, if you like your coffee a bit bitter, then this would be perfect! Definitely worth it to try out if you are in the area. read more

And I'm so glad I did, because it may just be my new favorite spot in the Arts District. There are so many great coffee shops around, but this one really stands out. The space has such a cool mix of styles -- modern Santorini on the outside and a renovated Korean Hanok vibe inside. It feels calm, bright, and thoughtfully designed. We tried a few croissants -- the ham & cheese and pistachio were both incredible: super flaky, buttery, and surprisingly filling. The cream top drinks were another highlight -- basically like an affogato, but they do a matcha version too. The matcha was intense and high quality, not overly sweet. Really great first experience at Concierge. Love the look and feel of the place, ample room to chill, both inside and outside patio. Really friendly service and baristas. The two drinks that I tried were spot on. Their signature saffron latte was delicious, not something I could drink daily but a very luxurious drink. And made an Americano from the espresso shot and that was really solid, no complaints on the drink end. Their signature saffron parking in the area isn't great but if you manage to find street parking this is the best coffee in that area of the Arts District of DTLA... I actually came back for a second visit before I finished my review, would still keep a four star review but I need to go back one more time to try their banana foam, sounds delicious :) read more

Had a meet-up here on a Saturday in December. It's been a while since I've been around DTLA, so Concierge Coffee was new to me. Plenty of free 3 hour street parking around this coffee shop. I usually like cold coffee and the iced saffron latte ($8) seemed pretty unique so I ordered that. I was pleased to find they use real glassware for their drinks (not sure if you have to request it as my mentee's coffee came in a disposable cup). I was bummed that for the price, the latte is rather small and wasn't strong on the coffee. Still, it was nice to try, but I might order another drink next time. A good amount of seating inside. Such a cute spot in the Arts District. The barista did a great job of guiding our drink orders. I was thrilled with our pastry choices, too. The server recommended the banana bread, and I was not disappointed. It was light and moist with concentrated banana flavor from the whole banana slices they'd baked into the top as decoration. The lamination on my partner's pistachio croissant was amazing! I did find my drink - the einspänner, double espresso, cold brew, dark chocolate, salt, cream top - was a bit rich for me. But it was great with some water to thin it out as I consumed it. And that meant it lasted longer than it might have otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised to see their offerings including the iced flat white and iced cappuccino- I will absolutely go back and try other drinks. I went to check out this new cafe in arts district and the vibes here were very nice! I loved the ambience and there's a nice courtyard and interesting mirror hallway for you to explore as well. Parking is street parking that can be tough in the area depending what time of day you're coming. In terms of the drinks, I got the Hojicha latte sweetened and with oat milk and my friend got the einspanner. The Hojicha was lovely and super balanced! It's definitely one of the better Hojicha lattes I've had. Meanwhile the einspanner was pretty unsweetened and super strong so definitely wasn't my favorite type of einspanner. Seating isn't going to be the most comfy as it is very modern but I love the look. The espresso was on the more sour/tart side so if that's what you are into, this is your place.
