We have rented and have been a loyal customer for years. We found the sudden need to use a dump tailer and instead of going to Home Depot which is where I needed material from we went there Friday during normal hours and checked if by chance they one. They did and I noticed it was the manager checking me out. He walked around the trailer, glassed at a couple of things and sent us on our way. I had confidence because it was the manager who checked us out Mike was his name. Once I got to Home Depot I realized the dump trailer look like is was in rough shape. There was existing roofing materials still in it nail/roof felt/wood. So I guess I have to empty the trailer before use. We used it for a piano/ home depot wood/a pallet of concrete. I tried to dump the pallet of concrete and the trailer dropped automatically slowly. I only used it once and it flipped the pallet upright my intentions were to pull forward. When I brought the trailer back the other manager quickly ran over and checked the tire pressure and stated it was low and it also didn't have a tag on it. Meaning things weren't done properly. Since I've never seen these manager leave the desk in years of coming here, I am assuming they are short handed. I mention the trailer was dropping and he says, "sometimes like it drops, you just need to wiggle the handle and then he looks and realizes the oil is also low." I leave and then sent a bill for the tire costing an extra 250 and call Mike (the manager) the guy who gave me the trailer and this is what dude says. Unfortunately for you we have a iron clad contract, Unfortunately for you I had to stay past 2 o'clock, Unfortunately for you I have another customer I need to put you on hold. I immediately got in my truck and began heading over. Mike called back and began claiming I should be grateful he stayed past 2 o'clock and there needs to be some give. I explained you never checked the tire pressure on that trailer Mike, at least not in front of me. The trailer literally drops because it has no oil. Also I know you have cameras so why don't you check yourself out to see. He stated he will leave a note so I can discuss it with someone when I come in. I pull up the place is a mad house. I realized I'll spend my time on this review instead of arguing with someone who clearly didn't do his job and he is the best they got. Unfortunately for you Mike I can type. read more

I was in to rent a chain saw. Everyone was upbeat. The service tech was pleasant and reviewed the workings of the saw before I took it. The contract said the "rental rate includes purchase of a new chain." The chain saw worked for 3 trees. It was not a new chain but a dull, old chain. After three trees, trying to use the saw then caused the chain to dislodge. The chain saw stopped cutting. I paid $73.97, and felt robbed. I explained to the owner what happened. His response was 'chain saws get dull. I wasn't there so I can't say what happened.' Then he just stared at me. He was rude. Very non customer service oriented. They were great on the sales end, horrible when problems came up. I won't use Ideal Rent-All again. Their service was not ideal, but the opposite. read more

Update: instead of calling to even acknowledge our complaints, he sends a screenshot of my previous review to my brother. You can also see in the screenshot my brothers attempt to let him know about the excavator... Writing review on behalf of family. They rented two excavators, on day one, one of the tracks came off. Company wouldn't respond to request for help or even replacement, it took 2 hours (4 man hours), $100 in grease/parts to bandaid the track just enough to to get it out of the way for the other excavator. Still no communication from owner, whom originally dropped them off, then one of their drivers showed up and had no idea what was going on. After several phone calls to their office and texts to the owner, still receiving horrible customer service. Being charged for the whole four days for the broken excavator, even though it was picked up on day two and money was spent out of pocket to fix. Will update review if/when we hear any more. read more

Ideal Rent-All - Horrible communication and professionalism - Outdoor Power Equipment Services Near Me - Mount Vernon, Washington

Needed a material handling lift. Living in Clinton, it's a toss-up whether to go to Everett or Mt. Vernon. Opted for Ideal in Mt. Vernon. Easy-going conversation for making the reservation. I went to the shop area to pick up the machine and there were 3 guys standing around it looking down, I asked them what was wrong. They said the cable was off the pulley and could I wait a couple of hours. Not acceptable but I had no choice. It was only about a half hour and they called to say it was ready. I asked what would happen if there was a cable problem while I was using it and was told they would bring another one down immediately. Got it home and as I started to raise it (with no load) it dropped 2 feet. Not good, but if it would still lift the beams into place then I'd just attach C clamps to the rails on each side to prevent a major disaster (just a minor one). But when I had a beam on and it did it again - this time with my wife standing nearby, it was over for that unit. I called the office and they said they would bring one right down. It was a Sunday and they did! They made the 3-hour round trip and I was back in business. I wish the original lift had been repaired correctly but they stood behind their promise so it was only a "minor inconvenience". Additionally, I had damaged a support that I repaired with heat and pounding, and a little paint. I pointed this out upon returning it. No charge. Thanks, guys! P.S. I live on South Whidbey and have had the 2 rental businesses close since we've lived here (25 years). Now only HD in OH or a ferry ride to Everett is available for rentals (or as in this case, Mt. Vernon). I sympathize with the people that are in this business. If I had a rental company, there'd be nothing with a motor in stock. Business would be slow but the headaches would be fewer. read more

In the past 2 years we have rented a ditch witch, attic vacuum and a 50 foot drain snake. They all worked fine and got the job done. Also staff helped to educate me well and offered advice on what machinery to get. Thank you! read more

I highly recommend this business! I am always impressed with their professionalism and customer service. They always have the right equipment for the job, easy and quick rental process. On Saturday July 29th, 2023 I spoke via phone with Mike at Ideal Rentall in Mt Vernon. I advised him the details of my project just as I had the other places I called: My Son who lives locally, also my Daughter and Son-in-law (and 2 small granddaughters) who live in Spokane all graciously set aside time to help me complete a project, as they all have equipment operating and project management experience (I do also). We have six loads of ecology blocks totaling 92 blocks, 57 of them weighing 3500lbs each and the others smaller, deliveries would begin the morning of Thursday, August 3rd , and I would need 2 excavators, capable of lifting that amount of weight, as the plan was for my sons (daughter and myself as back up) to each operate an excavator, quickly and efficiently unload blocks off the truck and then set them, on the average less than 100 feet from where each load arrived since the site was already prepped. We would then have Friday and Saturday to place ecology block caps (weighing 1750 each) which as they were unloaded would have already been conveniently placed within reach of where they would go, we would do some small finish drainage and dirt work, so by Saturday late afternoon the project would be done so we could enjoy the Stanwood-Camano Fair as a family. At the latest the excavators would be available to be picked up Saturday, August 5th after 5pm, since my Daughter, Son-in Law and Granddaughters had to return to Spokane very early morning on Sunday August 6th. Mike advised they had three KX080 excavators available, and if I chose to go with Ideal Rentall, it would be best for them to deliver on Wednesday night. Also, since they are closed Saturday 2pm and closed on Sundays, they would be able to pick them up on Monday morning. He said I would only be charged for the hours (8 hours= 1 day), he gave me estimate of rental per excavator of $555 for every 8 hours and $304 delivery fees x 2 and each excavator came with 2 choices of buckets. On July 31, I contacted rental places and private parties again to see if they had the specific buckets for ecology blocks, when I contacted Ideal Rentall, Lloyd asked Mike, and Mike said they didn't but that a chain could be used to go around the bucket, my delivery driver told me that also as he is very knowledgeable with ecology blocks. On August 1st, I decided to go with Ideal Rentall, I called spoke with Mike, he double checked availability of the two KX080 Excavators and said two were available, they would have them delivered the evening of August 2nd and picked up first thing Monday morning. He advised the rental included 2 buckets per excavator, he offered to send a 24- & 36-inch bucket with teeth and a 54 inch cleanout bucket. He gave me the total for rental and delivery. He then transferred me to Lloyd to do the paperwork, Lloyd immediately answered, and I heard Mike in the background, let LLoyd know there is only one excavator available. I told Lloyd that would not work, in the background of the phone call, Mike offered a 5519 Telehandler via Lloyd, I didn't know if that would work for this project, I said I would call back after checking with my Son, Daughter and Son-in-law, just before I hung up Mike said he just checked and he could drop 2 KX080 excavators after 6pm on the 2nd , but one would have to be picked up between 6am-8am on Friday morning to be taken to a new rental job, so it could only be used on Thursday. I was disappointed and didn't know if that would work, so I told them I would talk with my family and call back. We adjusted our plans, so all blocks that needed to be set by an excavator would be in place by Thursday, so we could make it work with only one excavator on Friday and Saturday, and if needed, we would rent a tractor or other smaller equipment to place the smaller blocks. On August 2nd, I called and spoke with Mike, confirmed the rental for 2 KX080 excavators, he offered a 24- & 36-inch bucket with teeth and a 54-inch cleanout bucket to be delivered that evening (what should have been four buckets, two for each excavator, was only three), the second excavator was delivered by Mike himself and he let me know he had another delivery after mine. When he delivered the excavator that night, I had just finished making dinner, so I offered to send a plate of dinner with him, instead he came in and ate with our family. Before he left, he confirmed the first one would be picked up on Friday morning between 6-8am, the second one would be picked up first thing Monday morning. Instead of texting me, the consumer at the only phone number on the receipt (see copy of receipt), Mike texted my son, to let him know the pickup time for the 1st excavator changed to later Friday morning. He used my son's phone number from when he worked for Ideal 8 years ago. The next day, while the first load of ecology blocks was being unloaded, one of the tracks came off one of the excavators. I also write this as a public service announcement about doing business with this company. We have rented from them several times in the past with no issues until something went wrong with their equipment and then we were shocked by the unprofessionalism and hostility that followed. The first excavator we received worked for one day and then started leaking hydraulic fluid. We called Ideal Rent-All and they agreed to have a new machine delivered the next day. The second machine worked for 4 hours and then the breaker attachment quit working. We called to have it fixed and were told we had to fix it ourselves. What??? We were told if the machine stops working then we must have broken it. They cost us 3 days on the job and gave up a 7K a month rental payment because they wouldn't stand behind their equipment. When we asked to escalate to the owner, we were told they are following the owners instructions. Renter beware, if any issues arise with your rented equipment expect hostility and the worst customer service you can imagine. I'm writing this review as a public service announcement. I regret that I had the most unsatisfactory experience with Ideal Rent-All in Mount Vernon Washington. We rented a man lift for some light tree trimming and gutter cleaning. We've rented these machines in the past. We were never told that the new machines will only operate on perfectly, and I repeat perfectly, level ground. The equipment literally sat in our driveway for three days unused. I wish I could say it seemed like they were just having a bad day, but the explanation we were offered seemed to be rehearsed statements for when customers complain about equipment that does not work as intended. I was told it's not their job to tell the customer it won't work on even the slightest slant. I spoke with one of the owners, his name is Mike. He was rude disrespectful and kept interrupting me even though I was discussing my issue in a calm and polite and courteous manner. He wouldn't let me even finish a sentence. I don't usually write reviews but I felt so compelled to warn others of the poor business practices of this establishment that I didn't want to see others get taken.
