However, what really sold me were two things: (1) the customer service of the staff and (2) the arcade's strive for innovation and progression in enhancing the VR experience. The staff where very kind and accommodating, even with our large party of 7. They did their best to provide a wide range of games for us to play. In addition, after our time was up, my friends and I got to beta test their first multiplayer VR backpacks. Imagine being able to physically move around and play with your friends in an open space - awesome, right? This is a but a glimpse of what Escape VR at Oxford, MI can provide to the public. I'm only in Michigan for vacation this weekend, but this visit was the most memorable. As an engineer, I appreciate their innovation and profession in VR, and I hope the next time I visit MIchigan, I get to see how much this place has grown.

The lady on the phone was kind and very helpful in explaining the set up. Tickets are $27 per person and each room has a minimum requirement. If a room has a minimum requirement of 4, you must pay for the 4 over the phone or in person in order to book and hold your spot. You may bring additional people to pay up front, but only up to the maximum number of people. Our first time they suggested misfortune and it was a lot of phone. We came in today and we tried Kidnapped. Both rooms were full of excitement and codes. The kidnapped room is for 5-10 people, so we paid 5 over the phone and 3 others paid in person. They ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the time so that they can go over the rules. Although, $27 may seem like a lot to some people it is well worth it. We have never had as much fun as we had playing together and trying to finish with limited time left. We are excited to check out another room soon! Next, we tried to call to inform them we were having troubles finding the entrance causing to be a few minutes late however they did not pick up (we were the first session of the day). While in the escape room, I will say it was incredibly toasty and I wish there were a couple more vents in the rooms themselves to provide some ventilation. Finally, without exposing the escape room, I felt all the puzzles were linear and so without the continued clues it would have been impossible to complete the room in the time limit given. I feel that if they wanted to do this room without any clues it would need to be a 2-3 hour room although the puzzles were well designed. Finally, there was no like end picture of us breaking out which would be a nice addition to the experience.

For some reason, the code did not work at all which was disappointing. I mentioned this to the person that greeted us and she said she would let her manager know. We weren't given that discount though. That's the only reason I give it a 4/5. We walked over to a lockers. We were instructed to put our phones and any other belongings in it. We were given a key for it to keep while we go into the escape room. We went over all the rules and then walked over to the room. One of the rooms we wanted was sold out, so we chose lock down. I must say the room was pretty difficult and a lot of fun. We finished with barely any time to spare. The screen shows you little hints along the way. We got our photo taken at the end. I did mention to the other woman that we would like to come back again, and if the code will work in the future. She said they will work on fixing it.

I don't understand why they don't just close the room if it's broken. The girl even told us it was broken and they were waiting for parts for it. We never solved the room, nor understood the plot bc they came in so many times to fix puzzles for us or explain to us " you did it right, this was supposed to happen". They felt so bad for us that they gave us the keychain. To be honest I just wish I was refunded or given a different room at that point because I was looking forward to playing so much. I felt like we would have solved the room if we didn't have to use our clues on broken stuff and if things worked like they were supposed to work. Would love to comeback and give it another chance, but I hope they fix stuff first.

Our directional lock broke, and we ended up not making it through. We decided to try to give it another try. We wanted to use a Groupon, and, unfortunately, the voucher code did not come in time. We called to try to see what to do, and the man on the phone told us to just call back whenever we got the voucher code. We showed up hoping the code came in time, and we're informed when we got there that we had to book an hour ahead no matter what. We offered to purchase on the spot and we're turned away. Understandable, but we are very sad about this experience. Just wish we could have known more ahead of time. Hope this helps someone else.

They utilized the hospital in most of the attraction, which made the whole experience even more creepy! I went for a private event, but it opened this weekend. I recommend everyone to go check out this historical site. So much has happened here in the past, you can feel the grounds energy as you pull into the parking lot. Looking up at those old windows, you can just feel someone or something peering from one! Go check out Eloise Asylum! The best haunted attraction in the state of Michigan!

I've been to three escape room experiences and this was by far the best. The owner Jenn's…read moreenthusiasm, careful planning and clever setup make this room great. Not only does the room have a great theme with the emerald city, but the clues themselves are decipherable while still being challenging. I've been to escape rooms that don't make sense because you're trying to escape for a certain reason (zombies, to get to a spy etc) which is why I like that this is called Game of Clues. I also really like the hint cards--if you find one, you answer an icebreaker question with everyone else and Jenn will radio in a clue for you. What a great idea! I can't wait to go back and try the other rooms!

The staff replied: "We will have the boxes available." Based on that confirmation, I made the trip. When I arrived, I was told their shipment was still being unpacked, so I waited in the area. After everything was sorted, I was informed that NIKKE wasn't part of the shipment at all -- not delayed, not street-dated, simply not included, which directly contradicted the message they sent me earlier. I understand shipments can be incomplete. The issue was being told the product would be available during the event period and only finding out the opposite after waiting around.
