It's fun, but super dirty. Thick layers of dust EVERYWHERE. Staff is on their phone, never see them cleaning. Desperately needs a deep cleaning. They don't have much for competition in the area, so there's zero incentive for them to make improvements. It's good enough for my toddler, but I always cringe about coming here. It is what it is. Our last visit there was an open tampon, bag of chips under the area where the kids climb. I told the employees but they were checked out on their phones. Don't blame them. Second time I have been here. Equipment here is a little worn down and old. Feels like they could keep the bathrooms and the place a little cleaner. I do like that this place is better for smaller kids. It is not too large like some of the other play areas and I felt comfortable sitting down below and not being up in the structure the entire time. Also climbing spaces are smaller so not easy for parents to get up anyway. We had 5 kids under the age of 3 and they all were entertained for over 2 hours. It is filthy- thick dust on and under all equipment. Carpeting is gross and the laser room was equally as diagusting. Just worn down and needs some serious cleaning. No staff extended a hand, asked if everything was okay, how they could help, nor was the area properly sanitized where BLOOD had dropped. This rating is depending on if you like their "no fox given" attitude (you may replace "fox" with another F word). First two employees did not talk to me or my kids (aside from paying the entry fee). No smiles or cheerful demeanor when we said "Good morning!" to one and "God bless you!" to the other one after she sneezed. Now the third one that arrived today was everything I would hope for and expect from an employee at a children's playplace. She was the youngest of the three so maybe the world has yet to be cruel to her and break her spirit, but I wish all employees were as nice and friendly as she was. Okay, going back to the attItude thing: - NO outside food or drink is allowed (aside from bottles/baby food). There are MANY signs but it was not enforced in the slightest - Doors were left open so my wandering and curious kid went into the party room, the supply closet with cleaners - No employee seemed to be observing the play area at any time in the 2.5 hours I was there - The snacks/drink cooler is accessible to any child that can stand. It's incredibly inconvenient but they didn't bat an eye at kids grabbing drinks they could reach and trying to walk aware before a parent made them put it back. So just be aware that many many many toddler hands could have touched it before you purchase it. - Theres a half door separating the play area and the front door with no security method in place. My 1 year old constantly pushed the half door open to make a run for the front door - Access to behind the counter (and into the kitchen, etc) is also easily accessible by a 1 year old Okay now regarding the play area: - I really like what they have to offer for the toddler area - Even though it's not for adults it's easy to access if your kid gets stuck/scared in the big kid area - Probably disgustingly dirty but no real signs of it - Kids love it! We attended our cousin's daughter's first birthday party here. The place was pretty nice and spacious. Their pizza was also pretty good. The play area is nice and spacious. Big enough for kids and adults to play in it. We did bring our neice, so don't get any weird things flying around in your head. There's also an arcade corner for the kids too. We went for an after hours "glow" birthday party. It was so dark in there you couldn't see kids in the play set in some places. No glow bulbs in play area. Kids were just given glow sticks. We salvaged a rainy day by going to Rochester play. This is such a cool place for kids; my daughter had a blast and cried for ten minutes when we had to leave. The place was clean and the staff was very nice. My daughter is 2 and started off in the toddler section first but after mastering that, we headed to the other side and I joined her in the climbing and going through tunnels and rope ladders and the slides. We had an amazing time and cannot wait time come back. $10 for an all day pass is a fantastic price. You're allowed to leave and come back! read more

We were looking for some indoor fun on a gloomy day. This place is close to home, we have been many times and each time have had a great experience. I had my 3 loves with me. While my 2 oldest had a blast and broke many sweats my 11 mth old wasnt interested. While there are signs all over stating no shoes just socks on play area we did see a few people miss out on that memo. The play scapes were fun.... However, terrible employees. Rude, inconsistent, and the reason I won't be back. There are signs up saying no food or drink from the outside... you cant see until you get in there. I brought a coffee for my first time and had no problem leaving it up at the front! The employee was very rude about me having it, but it was my first time. Then when I got in there.... Through the gate she told me I couldn't bring it in. Every single other mother had a coffee, snack, one parent group was even having a picnic. Like what? Also, no rules for kids really. Rochester play is a great indoor play option. We are in for the holidays from WI, visiting family near by. After being stuck inside for a few days we needed a place for our two-year-old to run around. I found this place on Google and when we arrived we are very pleased with the price point, it's a $8 per child, and no charge for adults. Our 2 year old was able to run around almost all of play options. We are very please with how clean it is. When we get hungry we ordered food at the café. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we got our food we are very pleased with the quality and reasonable price. When we visit family again this will definitely be in our places to stop at when we are in town. read more

First time with a 1 & 6 year old. Both kids had a great time! The employees were all so sweet/friendly. Every single one we encountered. There were quite a bit of kids and I could not believe how nice they all were. An incredible nice group of kids all around. I didn't witness one problem in hours. I had to stick pretty close to my 1 year old and every interaction he had with an older child was pleasant. Even to me the kids were so polite! The place is pretty dang clean for what it is. It doesn't have any funny smells and inside the play place it looks clean. The mats as well. We only tried the pizza which was really good. Plenty of coffee options. I really wanted to like this place since I had heard some great reviews. Overall, it was fine - my 18 month old had a great time. Here's a list of my thoughts from entry to exit: - parking - horrible. There are like 20 spots in front of the building. If they are all full as it was when i got there, you had to park around the corner in which is one way so you had a bunch of idiots driving in reverse to get to the spots rather than actually driving in the right way - which was a pain because you had to drive past Rochester play and essentially park in the spots reserved for other businesses. There is a grassy open space in front of the place which I would advise the business to use for parking. Definitely makes it easy for parents with kids to get into the building. - check in- pretty painless except for the fact that they don't have a gate in or out nor do they provide wristbands or other security system to ensure someone doesn't accidentally walk out with you child. - the overall playscape - overall I really liked the toddler area - it was larger than other places toddler area but it's not fenced in which can be a plus or minus. The bigger kid section was great too - lots of lower levels for the toddlers can hang out and feel like they are playing with the big kids without having to go higher up in to the upper level. - open areas - I liked how many couches were lined up around the main open space. They were super comfy too. I also like the little climbable sculptures around the area. They were made of a hard spongy material so kids could climb them but not hurt themselves if and when they toppled over them. - food - they have food available but I didn't get anything there. One thing I thought was funny is that they have an open cooler display with food and drinks but it's open and low to the ground that I saw kids taking the drinks out because they could. I guess that explains the random unclaimed cans of soda around the open areas. Also important to. Note, they don't serve alcohol and don't allow outside food or drinks. - one thing I thought was nice were the facilities to have birthday parties. I can see this being a great option for parties. Overall, it was fun taking my son but for the price and the lack of security (not mention no booze), I probably won't be back unless it's for a party. read more

I went to Rochester Play a little while back for Ashley, who I was babysitting, and was happy with it. We both had a good time! :) I say on one of the sofas on the side of the play structure, while Ashley went around with a friend she made on the play. I was looking around, and thought to myself, well this is nice. It seemed pretty clean, and I might or might not have smelled a near by pole. And I'm pretty sure if was clean and wiped. So I didn't have to worry to much about it being sanitary. I could peacefully go on my phone, at rest with Ashley. The food was a whole different matter... I know Rochester Play isn't exactly meant to be a restaurant, trust me, I know. However, they should keep in mind people are not likely to stay for a few minutes, and likely to get hungry. So we did also, and ordered the pizza. I mean, it didn't make me want to spur it out, but you don't need labels to tell it's unhealthy. Ashley, however, scrunched up her face and said exactly this- "What's wring with this pizza?" So maybe, just maybe, try and improve it. I don't know how, that's yo job. This place is dirty, employees do a lousy job of cleaning up, the food is sub par at best and the staff was incredibly rude and discriminatory to my child with special needs. My 4 year old pulled her socks off as kids often do, wasn't walking at all or anything so there was no issue, and an employee immediately jumped all over it. Nevermind the typical kids who had done the same. Never mind the garbage all over the place. She instead needed to worry about what the special needs kid was doing, and had zero empathy. I observed several kids slip and hit their heads on the floor because of the socks rule. Some areas are carpeted which is great, but much of the floor has no traction causing kids and adults to slip. Go to this place at your own risk. If your child has an intellectual disability just know that you aren't wanted here as was confirmed by the staff member who told us she was glad we were leaving. read more

Seems like there were a lot of sick kids, which is normal, but the place had a gritty feel. And as bad as Java Jungle is, my son liked that playground better. Oh, the food is atrocious. I tried it because we were thinking about having an overpriced birthday party here - gross. We took out almost 4 year old and our 11 month old to visit here on a Saturday late afternoon. I was pleasantly pleased with this place. I have been to Boogie Babies and Jungle Java as far as comparing indoor play places. First off pricing: It was fair for what you get. I don't think it is the most expensive in the area, but more so mid priced. Jungle Java is higher priced. Our son liked to play some of the arcade-like games, those however in my opinion were highly priced at $1.00 each turn, but we weren't here to play those mainly. The cafe has a great selection for both kids and parents. I really like seeing when places cater to healthy, natural options for my family. And the prices at the cafe are very affordable. $1.00 for a juice box, $3.00 for my coffee. The seating area is generous, but not as large as Jungle Java to compare. I don't really care too much about a large cafe seating area anyways, as I'm there to play with my kids and watch them, not sit around chat with my friends and let my kids run free. Which I can not stand when I see that happen, by the way. I'm not by any means saying to hawk eye your kids' every move, but be aware of where he/she is and make sure they're following the rules for the well being of themselves and other kids around them. End Rant on that. The playscape area is mid sized. It's great that I can see my child from where I'm at, whether from the back, side, front, etc. There's a couple levels, but nothing gargantuan where you can blink and lose sight of where your kids went. The infant area is really cute, and set up perfectly for kids of that age. There are a couple hand gel sanitation areas, too. Areas of improvement: I would add more areas for boots/coats/bag cubbies. I would also enforce that parents take their shoes off as well especially if they're going to be walking on the main play carpet area. Overall this place is great for kids! Fun place to spend a few hours with the kiddos. My almost 4 year old had a blast running around and climbing and sliding. It was a great activity for a cold day! There are a variety of ways to climb thru the structures to get to the various bridges and tunnels and slides. Also, the toddler area was a good place to start. Everything was a bit smaller and easier to navigate. Once he got used to that, he moved on to the bigger and taller sections. The price was fair, I thought. $6.50 since he's still 3 & $8 for over 4 years old. My guess is that this is most appropriate for 2-7 year olds. The new location is much more spacious and has a better layout. It was easier to see your kids from the ground as they are climbing and sliding and exploring the structures. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the addition of some arcade games. I get it, but that's not really why we were there and of course we got suckered into spending a few $ on some games. read more

We have been here many times in the past. It's been awhile since we have visited. We visited today and man do I regret going. Staff was very rude and non attentive. Outside food is not allowed. It's even on the website advertised no outside food. As a food allergy parent, this made me feel safer. Yet today, children were eating food all over the place and food that was brought in. NOT safe for my child. When I brought this to the attention to the staff they stood and looked at me. Nothing was done. People wearing shoes all over the play area where it is to be socks only. Germs people! Shoes are one of the dirtiest objects we own. Poop is on shoes! Yet they allowed people to wear them. In a place where children run, play, roll around. Again, staff did nothing. Today was our first visit to Rochester Play and I'm definitely a fan! I love that it's not as big as Java Jungle, as I can sit in the middle where they provide comfortable chairs, and watch as my little one runs around. The price I though was a little steep at 9$, in my opinion, but I was glad to have found an indoor play area that has soft mats and keeps my girl entertained. At 14 months old, she's highly energetic and craving a lot of physical activity these days, getting easily bored of her toys. We've been to Boogie Babies, also, and enjoy spending time there as they provide unique toys and play sets that we don't have at home, but they lack more physical obstacles. Rochester Play is mainly physical obstacles, tunnels, different size slides, etc. It also has a small arcade area and cafe to order food. Highly recommend checking out if you and your little one are getting cabin fever in this cold weather and need to get out! read more

Big win for us: Allergy Friendly! Cory helped us personally with every food item we were interested in. He checked labels, brought out labels and used clean equipment to make our food. I REALLY APPRECIATED the care and attention he gave for my two year olds tree nut allergy. Quality toddler area for younger kids, which is rare. We came in with our son today to check out the play area but also talk about their services for birthday parties. The play area is fun, although fairly small. However, there was not one manager in sight and the place was pretty much staffed and run by teenagers. Nothing wrong with teenagers...if they are trained properly. Given the experience we had today, we are not having our son's birthday party here: - the guy taking orders is the same they use to clean vomit . It happens, it's a kids' play area after all...but saw him returning to the counter to take my order and he didn't wash his hands - he's also the one who you are supposed to talk to for parties and after 1 1/2 hr trying to talk to him, we gave up. - We also tested some of the food and as simple as it was (grilled cheese and a grilled panini), he didn't get it right. The stars are mainly for the play area. The food is definitely not worth your money and there is a thing or two to learn about hygiene. The party side?
