I have been here twice now, and both times have been a blast! The first time we went, we successfully escaped from "amnesia" with under 5 minutes left. The most recent time, we went with my parents. They had never done an escape room. They really enjoyed it! We all thought it was great. The most recent room we escaped from was "kidnapped." It was very creative and challenging. This place is super awesome. We always wanted to check this place out, but we kept putting it off every time. My sister and I finally suggested to do it on a Sunday night. The lady on the phone was kind and very helpful in explaining the set up. Tickets are $27 per person and each room has a minimum requirement. If a room has a minimum requirement of 4, you must pay for the 4 over the phone or in person in order to book and hold your spot. You may bring additional people to pay up front, but only up to the maximum number of people. Our first time they suggested misfortune and it was a lot of phone. We came in today and we tried Kidnapped. Both rooms were full of excitement and codes. The kidnapped room is for 5-10 people, so we paid 5 over the phone and 3 others paid in person. They ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the time so that they can go over the rules. Although, $27 may seem like a lot to some people it is well worth it. We have never had as much fun as we had playing together and trying to finish with limited time left. We are excited to check out another room soon! My family, friends, and I came here after dinner to help celebrate my sister's birthday. I was so excited to try this place because my family and I love trying Escape Rooms in different states. We did The Elevator Room. I will not give away any details, but the room does move. The décor really felt like we were in a hotel elevator and boiler room. I am afraid we did not escape on time, but we were so close. The place let us continue playing until we solved the puzzle. Overall, we had a blast! The only previous experience I had to compare was a road rally I had done many years before....this was nothing like that experience. So! Much! Fun! My team and I have done rooms all over Michigan (and even won a local escape room contest), so when a room manages to offer puzzles or situations we haven't encountered before, that's a real treat. Escape Room is really innovative, their set pieces are gorgeous, and the whole experience makes you feel as though you really are in whatever adventure you're doing. I would guess the people who create them have experience in theater of some sort. They're obviously really dedicated to their craft, comfortable running the rooms, and excited to see players succeed, and that makes the whole experience a blast! In addition to their creative settings and gorgeous staging, another thing that sets Escape Room apart is the way they do their booking. Most places leave time slots open until they're completely filled up (or ask you to pay for all of the slots in order to schedule a private booking). This place automatically gives you a private reservation, which means we can play at our own pace and not have to worry about ruining the experience for any newbie strangers who booked the same time slot. So far, my team has done two rooms: the kidnapping room and the elevator room. In both places, I appreciated the extra precautions the staff took to ensure players are safe and comfortable. Escape rooms can be a little spooky, and it's reassuring to know that the designers have thought about that element of the player experience. And they aren't trying to take unfair advantage of you to keep their escape rates down. The puzzles themselves don't stand out as much in my mind as the other elements of the room do, but that's not to say they're bad! As I mentioned before, I think they're both unique (There were none we could solve on sight because we'd encountered similar ones before.) and fair. At this point, we've come across more than a few at other locations that seemed like they had been designed to let the game runner laugh at players because there was no real way to solve them using only the information in the room and some creative thinking. Here, we never came across anything that felt like a trick or a trap. I would recommend Escape Room to anyone who is interested in trying a room for the first time (It's important to have a good first experience so you get hooked and help support more local escape rooms!) as well as experienced escapers like ourselves. Two of our team members are moving to Seattle this summer, and we plan to come back and do all the other rooms before they go. read more

You could tell a lot went into the rooms with the motion (for ours) and complexity of both the backgrounds and clues. First time for 9 put of 11 people. Mom's and teenagers (high schoolers/college age). Mix of boys and girls. We did the Misfortune room. We all had a really fun time. We started off slow, but once we started figuring out how the clues work we were off . . . ! The people that worked there were great. They provided clues on the tv screen to help when we were scattered. Everyone got excited with each clue getting us closer to escape. Very very fun. The facility is super clean. It is in a strip mall with ample parking. It is decorated really clue-ish - with a large waiting room. Totally recommend going if you like solving puzzles or watching your kids/friends work together. Seriously so fun. We haven't been to any other Escape rooms so I can't compare. But we did the kidnapping room and had a BLAST! To be honest that was the one I DIDN'T want to do, but it was actually awesome. When we showed up we had too many people for our original room but the staff was super friendly and helpful and let us break up into 2 groups doing 2 separate rooms. They gave us a place to hang our coats or purses but we brought them in the room which they said was also fine. But I will say next time I won't bring a purse as it was in the way a little. And when you're trying to get out with one min left the last thing you're thinking is where is my purse! read more

I thought my previous escape room experience couldn't be beat, but this place exceeded all expectations. It's located in a nondescript plaza off the grid in Washington Twp., but don't let that deter you. The quality is of this place is as good as it gets. My friends and I chose the "MisFortune" room, and the challenge was satisfying. The room was large enough to accommodate a small- to mid-sized group and not feel crammed. I think 4-6 people would be ideal if everyone in your group wants to play an active role. The puzzles were challenging, but not frustratingly so. The decor matched the theme of the room and elevated the whole experience. This business was clean and organized, and it's clear the staff members possess creative minds and pay careful attention to detail. Even the lobby was thematic, and the signs (that you can hold during a group photo at the end of your experience) are high quality. Highly recommend! read more

Visited last Sunday night with a group of 6 including myself. We had the best night ever! From the moment I called to check into it, which was before Christmas even, the girl on the phone was so polite and helpful. When we booked, same thing! We arrived on time and she was very informative and kept us excited. The room, the Saloon room, was challenging! I'm so happy - and a bit shocked - that we escaped. I strongly recommend this. We have completed all but one room at this location. I've been to 4 other Escape Rooms in the Detroit area, and this one is hands down the best experience. Their rooms are wonderfully decorated and full of puzzles to keep your group busy until the last minute! Other escape rooms rely on hiding clues, whereas this location has unique puzzles that keep you constantly moving and thinking. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful, before and after our escape experience. Our group will be back to complete the final room (Escape from Warehouse), and then anxiously await new rooms here! read more

This place is by far the best for escape rooms! This time around we did the elevator with four people. We split up at the beginning and work through puzzles using a walkie-talkie to communicate with the other team. We met in the middle and work through some very clever puzzles. We definitely want to come back and do the other Escape rooms that this place has to offer! They are clever and well-thought-out! Great spot for a fun, energetic family adventure. There were only 4 of us, two being an 8 year old and a 12 year old and the other two were seniors . The fortune teller room was exciting and constantly in motion. Sharing the clues and getting hints make the activity move were quickly. Out of all the escape rooms I have been to, this one by far is the worse. We went here for a birthday and the staff rushed us in and out. They weren't warm or friendly and wouldn't even answer questions. We had 12 year old boys that had not been in an escape room before and were asking questions only for the response to be "I'm talking and/or I'll get to that" (In their best robotic non feeling voice). Of which he never did. Then at the end, it was the same way. I get they have to get others set up and in, but we paid good money to have this birthday there and we should have had the courtesy and time we paid for. Put it this way... Our scheduled time was at 8:30, we got there at 8pm so we'd arrive before the rest of the guests only for the staff to start telling us as soon as we arrived to hurry up and get our party there to get us started. So that was a huge indication how the rest of the evening was going to go. I encourage anyone that gave this place a good review to visit another escape room. The one on 23 & Hayes is relatively close and it's a night and day difference in atmosphere and staff. You will see the difference in treatment and probably feel the same way I do about this place. read more
