Golf cart stopped several times while on the cart path for no apparent reason, had to reverse to get it to unlock. Very annoying having to prepay for a group, the not allowing the individual golfers to pay at time of check in, customer service friendly work around well they can pay you. I don't think the person checking people in didn't know what he was doing. Big plans for the property, not sure they have the personal to pull it off.

The entire clubhouse facility is gorgeous and the balcony patio was a really nice spot for mingling near the bar. That said the balcony pulled people from the dance floor with the nice weather...just an FYI. The food was pretty solid...I know the filet mignon was overcooked but it had a great beer, soy, ginger, marinade that was fantastic and the potatoes Dauphinoise were almost perfect. All in all the wedding was one of the nicest I've been to just be prepared to deal with the Wyndgate wedding coordinator...she doesn't mess around but made the day seemless.

Olivia, the coordinator we worked with, was very responsive and approachable. She worked with us to get things just the way we wanted. Here's a run down of the coolest parts: 1. The wedding party and parents got ready in the locker rooms (which are shared with club members, but not that crowded on Saturday mornings!). The men even had little name tags on lockers! 2. We were able to bring stuff the day before to set up (not always available, depending on their schedule) 3. Olivia was there for the rehearsal and for the big day. 4. We had the whole club house ground level for our wedding. Including a large dining room, dessert area with some seating/standing tables, a lounge area with couches, and a dancefloor/band area. The different rooms provided a really cool atmosphere, and people could go where they liked. Don't like loud music? Don't go in the dancefloor room! 5. I'm lactose intolerant, and the chef accommodated plus 100. All my food was dairy free, there were dairy free desserts, etc.! They also accommodated guests with shellfish allergies, gluten allergies, etc. FABULOUS. I definitely suggest looking into them. They are a bit pricy for southeast Michigan, but not the most expensive. If you're looking at a wedding of more than 150 guests and have a meaty enough budget - look them up. It runs around the $100/guest level - plus or minus depending on what you pick for food, package level, etc.

You best be ready for a morning 'stacked up' experience and pressure to be ready golf and on a public course where skill varies, it is a challenge. Didn't help that we were a four, and there was a 3 ahead of us and a 3 behind us. So a ranger telling us late "you guys need to pick up your pace..." was inevitable. The course itself was in good shape for late summer, Tee box rotation was interesting, some holes playing shorter we had thought. There are some serious changes in elevation to add a challenge. Greens that were trickier than a typical public course add to the experience. Several holes are short so skill players can challenge for low scores. few trees on the course, it's got a lynx style influence. Sand traps can be punishing and protect many of the greens. Would play again, maybe not first thing in the morning, get in after the busy stacked schedule and play late morn/early afternoon for a more casual pace. Electric cart with GPS screens are always welcome!

Went there yesterday and it was like playing in dirt in someone's rough backyard. They have all this green grass behind the hitting line and it looks like they haven't moved the hitting line in months. They don't mow the hitting area at all and they want to charge $18 for a large bucket? If you're going to have a grass range in this bad of shape, just set up the mats at that point. Was almost unplayable.

It took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Around hole 3 or 4 we called the ranger to ask them to have the group speed up play. Didn't happen. When we made the turn we asked the ranger to have that group speed up. He couldn't care less and did not ask them. For the amount of money you pay to play here I don't expect to play 18 holes in more than 5 hours. We will not be back and will tell anyone that asks how the course management could care less once they get your money. There are many other courses in Michigan where the management does care and those are the courses that will get our money. Thumbs down on Greystone.

I thought the "cart path only" sign on #5 was a permanent fixture of the course since it's low lying, but nope, that was due to over watering. Didn't see that sign all year here in 2025. Course hasn't been this good in 15 years! New GM is excellent at communication, to the point where we get automated e-mails in the case of a frost delay. Proshop staff with Jeff, the new pro, Tyler (we actually have an assistant pro now!), Hailey, and the rest of the crew are top notch. My wife even made a comment to me about how everybody is so friendly when we come here.

I played the traditional 1-9 and found it to be perfect for my skill level: easy fairways + well kept greens. I'd say it was nicer than the municipal courses as far as grounds maintenance to help my game improve to play the local private courses. The drawback was no food or drinks available (not even a vending machine for cold sodas) and geese hazards (droppings) on fairways. I'll be back for sure, as I feel like I found a real hidden gem in southern Macomb Co.
