Erebus Escape - We escaped!!! Great time!

First, I felt that I had issues finding the front door of this place... so maybe it's a break in…read morebefore escaping out. Next, we tried to call to inform them we were having troubles finding the entrance causing to be a few minutes late however they did not pick up (we were the first session of the day). While in the escape room, I will say it was incredibly toasty and I wish there were a couple more vents in the rooms themselves to provide some ventilation. Finally, without exposing the escape room, I felt all the puzzles were linear and so without the continued clues it would have been impossible to complete the room in the time limit given. I feel that if they wanted to do this room without any clues it would need to be a 2-3 hour room although the puzzles were well designed. Finally, there was no like end picture of us breaking out which would be a nice addition to the experience.

We went the Erebus Haunted Attraction earlier this week. While in line for shirts, we saw cards…read morewith the Erebus Escape room. They had a promo code on them to save $3 per person. For some reason, the code did not work at all which was disappointing. I mentioned this to the person that greeted us and she said she would let her manager know. We weren't given that discount though. That's the only reason I give it a 4/5. We walked over to a lockers. We were instructed to put our phones and any other belongings in it. We were given a key for it to keep while we go into the escape room. We went over all the rules and then walked over to the room. One of the rooms we wanted was sold out, so we chose lock down. I must say the room was pretty difficult and a lot of fun. We finished with barely any time to spare. The screen shows you little hints along the way. We got our photo taken at the end. I did mention to the other woman that we would like to come back again, and if the code will work in the future. She said they will work on fixing it.

Pretty disappointed. The games there are great but we did the room blackout and someone came into…read moreour room 4 times to fix stuff while playing. I don't understand why they don't just close the room if it's broken. The girl even told us it was broken and they were waiting for parts for it. We never solved the room, nor understood the plot bc they came in so many times to fix puzzles for us or explain to us " you did it right, this was supposed to happen". They felt so bad for us that they gave us the keychain. To be honest I just wish I was refunded or given a different room at that point because I was looking forward to playing so much. I felt like we would have solved the room if we didn't have to use our clues on broken stuff and if things worked like they were supposed to work. Would love to comeback and give it another chance, but I hope they fix stuff first.

Love escape rooms, and great effort put into the rooms. Sadly, some of their equipment is faulty,…read moreand we had to use our clues to figure out how to fix those items. Our directional lock broke, and we ended up not making it through. We decided to try to give it another try. We wanted to use a Groupon, and, unfortunately, the voucher code did not come in time. We called to try to see what to do, and the man on the phone told us to just call back whenever we got the voucher code. We showed up hoping the code came in time, and we're informed when we got there that we had to book an hour ahead no matter what. We offered to purchase on the spot and we're turned away. Understandable, but we are very sad about this experience. Just wish we could have known more ahead of time. Hope this helps someone else.

I've not done a ton of escape rooms, but I've done enough to know which ones are put together well…read moreand which ones aren't and Escapology is by far one of the good ones! We had a party of four today and we did the room "Under Pressure". We were greeted quickly and got to the room a few minutes before our reservation. The rules were made clear and the game was well explained by the in person host and pre recorded video. We were told that this was one of the more difficult rooms and we didn't make a lot of progress during the first 20 minutes, but once we got into a rhythm, we began to solve puzzle after puzzle until we were ultimately able to "escape". This is a great thing as I've been rooms operated by other companies that were very convoluted and not explained very well and we'd spend an exorbitant mount of time trying to solve puzzles that were not well thought out or looking at areas of the room which were not meant to be of any help. We even skipped one puzzle because we were able to escape without it... we cleverly circumvented it by maybe reading too much into one aspect of the global key to escape, and the employee that was watching us said that she'd never seen anyone solve puzzle B without first solving puzzle A, so that was kind of cool! And that's not a knock on the design of the room; we just figured that one part of puzzle B meant that we had to do a certain series of steps and we happened to be right and that gave us the information that allowed us to go on to the next step. I've got the bug now and I want to do more rooms and when we do, we're absolutely coming back to this location!
