Would give 0 stars if I could.
I had a deeply concerning experience with Ideal Dental, and I strongly caution anyone considering care there.
I went in with a documented history of no cavities, cleaning regularly every 6 months. Tried here for the whitening program. Stupid stupid mistake. Within a single visit I was suddenly told I had multiple. The procedure itself was performed by someone other than the owner/dentist, who later admitted that what they do is essentially "practice." That alone should have been a red flag.
During treatment, the provider was clearly rushed, and I experienced severe, abnormal pain--far beyond anything that should be expected from routine dental work.
When I called to report the pain, I was not taken seriously. I was gaslit and told it was due to clenching, and I was prescribed a muscle relaxer to take four times a day. Instead of investigating the cause, they attempted to dismiss it.
I trusted my instincts and refused the medication. When I called back and advocated to be seen again, they initially scheduled me--only to call back and tell me to go somewhere else entirely.
That "somewhere else" resulted in an emergency root canal, confirming that the issue was real, urgent, and completely mishandled from the start.
Let's be clear:
* I was treated by someone who openly described their work as "practice"
* I was rushed through a painful procedure
* I was gaslit when I reported severe pain
* I was prescribed inappropriate medication instead of being properly evaluated
* I was ultimately pushed off to another provider to fix the problem
This goes beyond poor service--it raises serious concerns about patient care, clinical judgment, and accountability.
Patients deserve to feel safe, informed, and taken seriously--none of which happened here.
If something feels off, trust yourself and get a second opinion immediately. In my case, it was the difference between continued harm and getting the care I actually needed.
