RGB Run - Goodie bags

It was five adults total--my mom wasn't able to play since she's disabled, but the staff was really accommodating, and we just left the door open so she could sit and watch us play, which worked out perfectly. The games were really fun, and the customer service was great--super friendly and helpful! We had previously tried Activate (which is similar), and I'd say we actually prefer the grid-style game at Activate since it feels more competitive. With RGB Run, the game started to feel a little repetitive after about 30 minutes, so I think it's more geared toward a shorter, one-session experience rather than a full hour. The main reason we chose RGB Run was because they offer private rooms, which is a huge plus. I didn't realize, though, that you're limited to just one style of game when booking, so I was a little disappointed they didn't have the specific game I had hoped for. That said, we still had a really fun time and I'd definitely recommend it for groups who want a private experience. Overall, a really enjoyable spot for something different to do with family or friends. I'd give it 4 stars--mainly because of the limited game options--but everything else (especially the service) was great!

Child Creativity Lab - CCL's enterance

Child Creativity Lab

Child Creativity Lab is somewhere where kids can build and create crafts and mixed media sculptures…read morewith re-purposed items and have the best time doing it. Child Creativity Lab takes donated every day items (Lego pieces, empty prescription containers, bottle caps, buttons, wine corks, new popsicle sticks as well as excess items from various companies (excess fabric, plastic bottles, paint, pins, tacks, glue, zippers, etc.) and they put them together in a package so that kids can assemble them them and create a figure like a robot or animal out of all the parts. Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take. You can also arrange to do a service event here with your organization, they have people come in every week to help out. We need more places like this in all communities!

What a wonderful resource for anyone working with children!…read more Great staffing, easy to work with. Highly recommend if you are looking for STEAM ideas and materials.

I was shortchanged…read more I spoke with nolan that I would like to order 6 cory habrosas for pick up the next day (today) and 5 CPDs. He says he will send me the invoice to pay over the internet. I told him i would pick up from San Diego (more than 100 miles of driving each way!!!) I did not pay yet and asked to change my CPDs to 3 otos. I told him i would like 6 habrosas, at least. When i drove up to santa ana (the next day), with an invoice of 6 habrosas there were only 4 in stock. I understand that Corys prefer larger groups. Had it been disclosed ahead of time that there were only 4 corys, i would not have driven up from SD to Santa ana and the INVOICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BY THE SELLER If there is not enough stock. There were not even enough otos as i requested. -This wastes my 3 hours of round trip driving (100+ miles) and gas to be short changed. ----------------- -i will have to report this to the BBB as well. -after speaking directly with Nolan, i will wait for his business to rectify this situation before i take additional actions. --------------- Edit on 12/2 after seller's response below: 1. 85 miles or 100 is an approximate. It is a trivial point given that it is a long distance drive from sd to santa ana. The crux of the matter is that you sold me 4 cories when you knew ahead of time i wanted 6. I acknowledge you are closed on Wednesday. You had employees in the shop anyway on Wednesday--they said they had to come in anyway to feed the fish for the long weekend whether i came or not. 2. The invoice i received is an automated email invoice. I can email it to you like. It has 6 cories written on it, not 4. And to your reply i am not looking for other cories, iam looking for the habrosas. 3. You knew i was there to pick up six (that is why the invoice that you personally emailed me stated 6 habrosas, which you wanted me to pay). So Eiither you or your employees did not take stock before you emailed me an invoice or you knew ahead of time that you did NOT have 6 and tried to sell me what you have. 4. The 4 habrosas and the oto cats have SEVERE red gills when they were pre-packed in bags upon my arrival. Either this is due high ammonia or red gills disease. I regret buying them. 5. A local fish store in san diego says it is bacterial and recommends medicine treatment. Since the day i picked them up They have been in medicinal treatment and it is nearly a week where the red gills have been present even with daily water changes and 0 ammonia.. I never had this experience with other local fish stores. 6 aside, i have received unsolicited yelp correspondence from your employee. Note i was courteous with your employees. They did not need to initiate any involvement in yelp which was not appreciated. 7. The only correspondence was that you would send 2 cories free of charge on monday and i would not take further action until we resolve this problem. 8. Please do not send the 2 cories, i am wary of the quality of care from your shop given the state of the cories and oto cats. Going forward I will not be ordering from this "guppy mill". And i will report this to the bbb and to other social media sites

There were a lot of different areas but it was hard for my daughter to actually do anything because the areas were packed and a lot of the items were missing from the areas due to kids moving them around. That's understandable -kids will be kids- but because there were so many kids the staff couldn't keep up with putting the items back in the designated areas. For example, we went to the "mail room" there was literally no mail in it. We went to the tool/building area and there were literally no tools and not enough building materials to build anything. This was pretty much every area we went to. The amount of kids also made it super overstimulating for my daughter. Normally when we go to these kinds of places it's calm and she is actually able to learn, play, interact etc. Lastly, it's expensive. Normally when we go to these kinds of places an adult is included when paying for a child to enter. Here, you have to pay for an adult and child ticket - so it was 44$ for the both of us. Totally not worth the price when it is so overrun.

Jarret showed up early to set up and though his generator didn't work, he had very long power cords for back up and made magic happen! It was also perfect that he had umbrellas on each end to provide shade for the seats. My son, his friends, and our friends had such a good time! Jarret was on the trailer the whole time to help the kiddos figure out the levers. He made sure there were gems, coins, or other trinkets in the scoops for the kiddos. He provided coins and gems and I added some dinosaur eggs in the mix. Jarret was great about his communication the entire time and very pleasant on the day of, as well. We were all super duper impressed with BookMiniDigger. I highly recommend!

Just revisiting this and realized Jarrett responded to my review!…read more Gosh I am usually pretty good about moving on from things but this *still* bothers me a year later, how awful and sad is that :( I was going to open a business at the union market tustin (closed now) several years back but the owners of that place were crooked and dishonest and stole thousands from me and several other small business owners, and I've even let that go lol! But something about this just still gets me. Honestly, I think it was the way Jarrett handled things after he flaked on my son's party that I can't let go of. I should have recorded how Jarrett spoke to me - it's still pretty vivid in my memory. In response to "as I said to you before" and "as I mentioned offline I am embarrassed and feel terrible that we missed your booking" Jarrett, while I appreciate the sentiment of your response, let me make a couple things VERY clear: YOU NEVER APOLOGIZED or took responsibility for how you treated me that day. The text messages I posted in my yelp review are literally the last correspondence we have. As I mentioned in my first review, I had to follow up with you to get the refund of my deposit. I'm not sure when you mentioned you felt embarrassed or terrible because all I literally heard on the phone when we spoke was you SCREAMING at me with excuses when I was just telling you how disappointed I was, and then I got hung up on. So disrespectful. Do you deny it? Because I noticed there are still no apologies or taking ownership for why you YELLED at me the morning of my son's party, minutes before it started and minutes before you were *supposed* to be there! I got off the phone in tears and shaking from how you spoke to me. My friend who was helping me at the party and my husband can testify. Look I get it, I can loose my temper too but I've never yelled at a total stranger, let alone a customer, the way you yelled at me. and when I do loose my temper, I always acknowledge and apologize to whoever I yelled at. (usually my spouse) I received not one follow-up message from you expressing any sentiment remotely close to an apology or admitting fault, wrongdoing, or acknowledgement that it wasn't right to yell like that. Honestly, if you had just apologized and taken responsibility for canceling instead of screaming at me, maybe the outcome for all of this would have been better. I'm glad you've taken measures to not let the "unforseen issues" cause you to cancel parties the morning of but hopefully you've also learned to control your temper and not yell at mother's who are just trying to throw a party for their kid. It seems like you've received many 5-star reviews since mine, wow that's great- I so deeply wish that could have been my experience too. While of course I believe in second chances and I do appreciate your offer of making this right, I just am pretty traumatized by the whole thing and truly wish things could have gone differently for us. I also don't know why my photos I uploaded of our conversation aren't showing up, seems like someone reported them and got them removed, but I'm reposting them again.
