Steak & Eggs

Had a really underwhelming steak and eggs. Said New York on menu but was some random piece of cut with a horrible sear and undercooked. Eggs, toast and hashbrows were good.

Friendly service. Pretty dead on a Friday at happy hour. I was looking for an open video crack machine and it was slammed at Broadway saloon and slammed at Ringos, so I thought I'd try this place. All the video poker was open and available and it was about 10% full of people for the bar at 5 PM on a Friday. Maybe because the drinks are so expensive. My makers and Coke with grenadine was $10.25 and then of course I'm pretty much obligated to leave a couple bucks for a tip so to pay $12.25 for one drink (which is about half that at Ringo's and even less at Broadway saloon)... It'll be hard for me to come back because of the expense. However, the specials menu for the food looks amazing! A steak dinner for 20 bucks or a loaded baked potato for 9 bucks is very reasonable. Would definitely come back to try the food but probably can't afford to drink here.

I came here to meet up some friends briefly and ended up ordering some food to kill some time. I wanted something light and ordered their Cobb Salad. The portion was generous and the salad was good. I liked that they are some corn and a piece of garlic toast to it. Our server was nice as she also left a mini pitcher of soda for me to refill my drink as well.

Service was excellent - the best. So personable and attentive. Enjoyed our Sunday brunch.

Looks like my last rating didn't go through... let me just say the service here is outstanding! This is a true family run restaurant where the original owner (mom) still comes in each day to ensure everything and everyone is at its best! We've come here twice now for breakfast and it truly is one of our favorite places for that home cooked meal where family is always welcomed! They even have games to play while you're waiting for your food! And the food is so scrumptious! Especially the Ickabod's Benedict!!!

Ate lunch recently with a family member. Service was pleasant and quick. Food portions and prices were fine but food was a bit underwhelming. Turkey Dip had hardly any taste, even with the Au jus. My guest had a tuna melt which he said was barely warm even when first brought to table so wonder if it sat a bit while mine was being completed. Restrooms were clean and we were greeted on arrival and departure. No big faux pas, but not in a hurry to go back either. Medium sized football TV screens were a plus but only one person besides ourselves seemed interested so not a big deal"sports bar" vibe. I'd place this clearly in the OK but not great category.

Amazing!! We are in town visiting friends and happened upon this place on the map! Food was delicious and the service was great ! We're from AZ and loved this small business atmosphere! Definitely would recommend their Mac n cheese & onion ring appetizer! The burger my partner got was also huge and very filling! Also the Portland cider co pacific berry was great!!

Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast

I would say my experience here for brunch was very pleasant. I had the chicken fried steak with two easy eggs, and the trio potatoes . The gravy from the chicken fried steak was superb. Chicken was decent. When you have a gravy that tastes like that one does you don't need heavy seasonings on the chicken or the breading so I think that it was a well thought of dish. The eggs were a little bit too easy for me, but I'm not gonna make that a complaint. I'd still say that it was great. -- The only suggestion I have: the orange juice and a pineapple juice taste like trash. It taste chemically in a little bit synthetic I would switch Juice companies if your profit allows. Other than that, it was great would come back.

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

The people working there were super nice, kind, and efficient. They were cooked well and not too salty so I could happily dip it in my spicy mayo sauce. The fries were also delicious. Loved the cute little swirl but the texture was also good. I didn't get any alcoholic beverages but I was able to make my own drink with diet pepsi and a drink that was like sprite- it was good. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and had such a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. But as a true chicken wing type of gal, I have to say -- those wings were top tier! The seasoning and sauce were flavorful, perfectly balanced, and definitely hit the spot. Of course, I had to pair it with a nice IPA... delicious! Highly recommend Prime Tap House: West End if you're looking for a great place to grub, drink, and chill with good vibes all around.

When I entered Bleachers, I sat at a table directly across from the bar. The female bartender seemed to act like I had to go to the bar to order my beverage and get a menu. She did tell me about the $2.00 Taco Tuesday promotion, but I was in the sandwich mode. I am not a fan of the bartender eating in front of customers, but that is what Bleachers is...basically a dive. The poker machines, or whatever they are, were all full. The bartender told me the Chicken Tortilla hot was not spicy so it seemed like a good choice with my Patty Melt. It was okay. I ate about 1/2 of it. The Patty Melt was loaded with onions, which typically is not a bad thing...but I couldn't taste the cheese, 1000 dressing or even the burger. It was at least served on rye bread. The thing that I noticed was that at least three people came up to the bar with an empty glass, wanting another. Two corrections...get the bartender in the restaurant as well to take orders and check on her clientele or add a server to take orders. I guarantee sales would increase, or maybe they are in the sales prevention program. Service was non existent and food was just okay. I will not be back.

I was super excited to visit this one a few years later, and sure enough the beer selection was still amazing, and though it did cost more than last time, the food pricing was still pretty good. Unfortunately where it feel short was the food execution. The food took about 45 minutes to come out, and some of the items came a bit staggered. The corn dog spent too much time in the fryer and came out pretty crisp, not the shade you want to see your corndog. The Super smashburger we ordered didn't actually have smashburger patties, just regular, and then the Mcloyal that was ordered did have smashburger patties. So it wasn't a case of these don't seem like smashburgers, since we were able to compare the two. It was a Thursday night of a holiday weekend and it was pretty crowded, so the kitchen fell behind, not sure if it's always like that here. It's still a cool spot, they've got plenty of seating inside and out, all sorts of beers, and a full bar with a good cocktail menu. They're also kid and animal friendly, at least earlier in day/evening.
