Char Siu Donburi
Raisa B.

Our son wanted to try real Ramen in a restaurant for the first time, and we were so excited! We had gotten takeout from Ichiddo a few years ago, but hadn't been back since. We got there at 5 o'clock on a Saturday night and it was full! We were greeted right away and were told it would be a five minute wait. Three more groups people came in after us within that five minutes! We were walked through the main dining room and brought to our table in a little side room with seating for only two groups. It was lively and busy in the main dining room, but very quiet in the side room. I would have loved to be seated in the main room where there was music and a little more life, but we were happy to get a table. My son had the Niku Soba Ramen, my husband had the Terriyaki Ton Ramen, and I had the Char Siu Donburi. All were fantastic, flavors were rich, and the portions were large. I took a third home for leftovers, and my son took half home for leftovers to share with his sister the next day. Even as leftovers, the food was delicious! We highly recommend and we'll definitely return.

I have to rate this a 1 star because I was disgusted. We were waiting for our Bonchon order (Bonchon is next door) to be completed. I seen that Ichiddo has bubble tea so we stopped over to look at the menu. The menu listed 2 general prices for the teas which I assumed were for different sizes but apparently the default was large and the price was still marked up 2-3$ more than what the menu said (without adding extras). That was the first red flag. Then while the man behind the counter was making the drinks I seen him licking his fingers which was gross. He seen I saw him do it and still continued to make drinks without washing his hands. That is GROSS. It's especially disgusting post Covid times (it would have been gross before Covid as well). This man was also serving/handling food and money so yeah, that's not okay. Red flag #2. The drink was extremely watered down and a waste of money. Overall I will not be back.

Char Siu Donburi

Food was pretty good and the portions are generous. I got the char siu donburi and it was great! If I get it again, I would ask for light mayo on it though. But overall it was pretty good The staff are super friendly and attentive as well. There were a lot of people on dates here when I went so it looks like a fairly popular location.

I'm glad I came here. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was wonderful. I loved how clean the place was. I ordered a hot sake, Takoyaki and the Niku Soba with extra toppings of black fungus, enoki mushrooms and a half boiled egg. Both so delicious! If I didn't drink all that sake and half the water, I would have emptied the bowl. The broth was soooooo delicious! I felt so bad when I couldn't take another spoonful of the broth after eating all the noodles and toppings 10/10 recommend!!!

Just arrived in MN and needed to get a quick bite. Found this next to my hotel Marriott, so that was perfect. Was greeted immediately and the interior was nice and cozy. I felt the seating could be a little higher. Simple menu and pretty straight forward. Not your typical Japanese ramen with some missing flavors like miso or shoyu ramen, overall selection was good. I had the vegetable ramen, broth was tasty but vegetables was kinda lacking. Restaurant was clean, I observed sanitizing bucket being used. I would come Back and try the stir fry ramen which looks pretty good.

I am absolutely obsessed with this place! The ramen is perfectly authentic and tastes amazing - the prok belly is my favorite. Also, there are lots of yummy appetizers. Limited drink options and the sodas come in cans (not something I mind, just an fyi). The restaurant is quite small, which makes it a wonderful intimate experience. Service has always been good, and they go the "extra mile" with takeout - they keep the noodles and broth in separate containers so nothing get soggy during transport.

Convenient ramen joint with a good broth, friendly folks and plenty of parking. Had the fried tofu and teriyaki ramen. Fine ramen for this Minneapolis suburb. This place is on my list, especially when it snows!

Neat place you wouldn't expect to find in Maple Grove. Love the mural! Attentive staff! We started with the Edamame for an appetizer. Can't go wrong! I had the vegetable ramen- (bamboo shoot, black fungus, mushroom, bean sprouts, corn, sliced cabbage, pickle ginger, green onion, black ginger, green onion & black garlic oil in miso base). It had amazing flavor!

Rainy days call for Ramen! Ichiddo Ramen in Maple Grove was easy to find and definitely gave off a chill vibe upon entry. I was seated quickly with menus and a good beverage list from sakes and Japanese sodas. Ramen prices are about $11-14 depending the kind you get! I got the Teriyaki Ton Ramen with a small size of Kimchi for about $13. The dish came out hot but not scorching. I loved that I could see all the add ins on top and immediately mixed it all in. The ramen was al dente in texture and the broth was flavorful with the additional of chili-garlic paste. I also ordered their roasted Char Su (roasted pork belly) and omg it was butter, tasty and cooked perfectly! I could have easily ordered 5 more of them!

Unprofessional response

The hostess working there around 8:50pm, 3/28/23 was extremely rude. When we were waiting to get seated she came with an annoyed attitude. After seating us I had a question whether their noodles are the thin or thick egg noodles. She gives me an irritated expression on her face and gives off an attitude saying "it's all egg noodles" then continues to give off that annoyed behavior. Then when I called her out and asked her why she's giving me an attitude she says I'll call the manager for you and walks away. We left with disappointment and didn't even want to risk our foods being spit on. Poor service and horrible hostess. The owner gaslighting the story. You were not present at all and I have two other's that accompanied me and yes customers saw exactly what happened. So don't try to make it seem like we came in the restaurant mad. There is no customers that's trying to eat, go in a restaurant to be mean and curse for no reason unless they are drunk. I believe you are just trying to save face. All I can say is, be respectful to customers and manage your employees to be polite when seating them and not make them feel unwelcome with an annoyed attitude. The world will see the truth. Also it looks like you had similar problems in the past from other customers by looking at your 1 star reviews. You have a serious problem with customer service and why did you delete your previous reply? I've added the screenshot of your reply so that you as an owner will own up to your responses and your business.

Crispy chicken ramen
Katie C.

It was a cold, rainy day and a hot bowl of ramen sounded like a good way to spend my lunch time. It ended up being the perfect choice. I decided on the crispy chicken ramen, even though the char siu ramen also sounded very appetizing. The crispy chicken ramen tasted great. The chicken itself had good flavor, and all of the other ingredients worked well together. I also liked that the sprouts were nice and crisp, not soggy. The portion size was very generous. I actually didn't finish the whole bowl before I was full. I found the spiciness to be just right for my taste. Enough spice to be noticed, but not so strong that it would be unpleasant. If I am in Maple Grove again, I will visit again. Maybe I will try the char siu ramen and see if it's as good as the crispy chicken ramen.

But I had a birthday voucher and a gift card, so we thought, why not give it another try. And wow. I feel like I have been missing out. The experience was so much fun. Our chef was fantastic and made the whole night feel special. It honestly felt like the perfect way to celebrate turning 38. And yes, at one point I was jokingly called out as "toxic", and to be clear, that was directed at me. All in fun! We ordered the steak/shrimp combo, which came with a shrimp appetizer and white rice. Of course we upgraded to fried rice, which feels like a must. Everything was really good and the chef did not cut corners at all, which we appreciated. My only callout is the cost. Even with the coupon and a $25 gift card, we still show how spent over $110 for two meals and one drink. I was honestly shocked. Compared to other places, it is definitely more expensive. Gratuity is automatically added. That said, the service truly was fantastic, so in this case it felt deserved. Even with the higher price, I would still go back. The quality of the experience made it worth it. One tip, especially in Maple Grove, make a reservation. We went on a Thursday night and it was busy.

It seems they've doubled the price of meals and aren't offering anything additional. In fact, they removed a lot of options from the menu and no longer provide the hibachi fried rice into your price. It's $8 extra to add fried rice!! Something that used to be included. That is criminal. The food quality also has gone down. The food was drastically under seasoned. Even my 8 year old niece said her corn needed salt. Honestly I will never go back to Benihana. It's a scam. There are way too many local hibachi places that are much better tasting and prices are more reasonable. The atmosphere was loud, which was to be expected.

We ordered several items and it is important to note that the food comes out as it is ready, which means food may not come out as you would normally expect. For example my main dish came out first, about ten minutes later my partner's food came out, then the appetizer arrived. This was not a problem for us, but others may be annoyed. We ordered #5 Banh Khot as an appetizer. This came out last, after the rest of our food. I would probably not order it again as it was a bit greasy and did not have as strong of a flavor as I would like. Very edible, just not what I had hoped. For my meal I ordered #15 Com Tam Heo Nuong, Bi, Cha and a lychee lemonade. The lychee lemonade was very good and had a lychee in the bottom of the glass. There is a sort of egg bake thing that came with the meal that was good, but not my favorite. The main meat and rest of the dish was so good, very flavourful. There was also a paler meat which was also good, kind of sour, but not my favorite part of the meal. It was a lot of food. I took home leftovers and ate an additional three meals. My partner had #20 Pho Dav Biet. This was amazing and very flavourful with lots of meat. If you don't like cilantro you should order it without as there is definitely some cilantro in the dish. Will definitely order this again. He also had a Thai Tea which he said was very good. The service was fast and very friendly. Our server was very informative and willing to help us decide what to have. Ambiance is light and pleasant. The restaurant is clean, but worn. We saw a lot of takeout orders go through while we were there and a steady stream of people coming to eat in. Several tables were full when we arrived, by the time we left it was nearly full. They have a fish sauce that appears to be house made(?). It is fantastic! The server said I should put a couple tablespoons on my dish, but it was so good we put it on everything! The restaurant is in a mini mall, so there was plenty of parking. I would say the parking lot is not very handicapped friendly as there was no ramp in front of the restaurant, nor close enough for me to notice. The restaurant itself is pretty handicapped friendly. All in all a very pleasant experience. We will be back.

Friends came to town so had to take them to one of my favorite Vietnamese spots in the suburbs…read more Free parking, no traffic jams like eat street , clean interior and great service... but most importantly amazing food. Order: Mini egg rolls with pork and shrimp. Delicious fried perfection. Great way to start the meal. Crunchy savory egg roll with the sweet, salty funky dipping sauce. Pho with well done brisket. I don't like the lean beef versions because the meat can leave some impurity in your broth as it cooks. The brisket is tender and flavorful. The regular size is a good enough portion to get you full. Broth is perfect. Such a satisfying bite.
