Absolutely amazing experience! I went to Japan and Ichiban's sushi in my opinion was better. This is a great place for lunch & dinner. They also have a private dining room for parties, birthdays, graduations, etc. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The teriyaki was perfectly cooked with a delicious glaze that had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The edemame (plain and spicy garlic) is a must. The miso soup is always on point and flavorful. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The sushi chefs ‍ Paul, Jackie, and Sam were engaging, polite, funny, and fun. The service was a 10/10! Stephanie, Judy, love boat, Liz, and Grace are so attentive and sweet. We feel at home when we eat at Ichiban. It's like Cheers where everyone knows your name. The drinks were also fantastic--refreshing and the perfect addition to the meal. There are cockroaches roaming around the restaurant, even on tables. The waitresses were very friendly and the food was mediocre. I feel bad that they are having to work in these conditions they most likely CANNOT control. One of the waitresses who caught a cockroach that was on our table was so apologetic and was not their first time doing it. This is clearly a management issue of not maintaining the building, outdated tables and booths, etc., and NOT the waitresses who are there just trying to make a living and not getting paid sufficiently. read more

Me and my boyfriend went inside and we expected to be waiting there for a while to be seated but they sat us right away, as we looked through the menu our server was very nice and attentive they kept checking on us and if we needed anything also taking finished plates. The sushi we both tried was the "Baked sunset" roll which was 10/10 the other one we tried was the "Tiger" roll which was also a 10/10 . This one has been resting on my drafts & honestly I was conflicted with my rating. It was either a 2 or 3 star review. The sushi was honestly not good. I'm not going to lie & say I liked it, because I did not. The rolls did not taste fresh, the fish & rice weren't fresh in my opinion. I've visited a few sushi spots in my day & I can tell this wasn't it. My MIL to be wanted to take the family to try her spot (she hasn't been to other spots) the majority of votes won (7 people) that we didn't really like the sushi. A few weeks later we treated them to A.Y.C.E in HB & boy did they love it. No offense Ichiban, but this might fly with those that haven't tried other sushi spots. I know the difference of those using fresh ingredients versus using up what you have left before it spoils. I will say this though this place makes a good udon soup. At least I did not leave completely disappointed, the udon soup was flavorful. The service was ok, could've been a little more attentive. I am local to the area and thought I found a new sushi spot close to home. I have ordered here 5 times and 2 of the times I've ordered to go here they forget a portion of my order. Today was the last straw, they have lost me as a customer. After calling and notifying them no one apologized they just said the server forgot another bag and I can pick it up. I already drove back home, she didn't offer a refund I had to ask for one. She asked for my number and name and said someone would call me back with more info. This is a ridiculous way to manage a business if you take my money and I get no service then you should be able to offer me a refund then and there. Do not order take out here if you only intend to get half your food for 100% of the price or want horrible service. In particular there's a waitress that works there who after I had paid my check essentially came back to me and demanded a higher tip and demanded something else 18% or higher. This was not owed to her by any means. I will not be going there anymore. The money didn't matter immensely to me so I gave her something extra a little over 18%. We ordered my daughter a teriyaki chicken and California roll combination place, the waitress brought a kids meal plate to the table and put it in front of my daughter and walked away. My daughter not knowing touched the chicken and when we realized that's not what we ordered we called her over and she got defensive and said we did, then checked her book and realized it was for smithed table picked it up and took it to the table that ordered it. She came back with my daughters chicken on a tiny plate, confused we told her we order the combination plate and she said ya that's what it is small size portions to try the food we make here so that's it. The rice in the rolls was hard! We asked for wasabi, sriracha and eel sauce and she asked how much of each we want because they charge for all those items since people waste them!!!
