Unassuming, especially inside the Parkwest Bicycle Casino. The casino itself is very well kept. Doesn't smell of cigarettes or anything dingy in the carpet or air. I really appreciated this because I'm sensitive to smell. I saw Sora Sushi on an IG reel and had to come see for myself. The sushi and vibes were all good! Just like that reel portray. There's no table seating, just bar seating for now until they open their actual sit down restaurant in the casino. The servers were all so friendly and welcoming making sure everything went well. Sushi was fresh and we washed it down with Sapporo. The owners son even came out and did some magic tricks for us! Dinner & a show! Highly recommend this spot, especially if you're in the area. We ordered the hand roll sets, full set and the seared salmon belly. Didn't expect much because I never encountered good food in casino but it turned out that this sushi bar has much better sushi than many serious sushi restaurants in LA and OC. The price is super affordable that you could stay around $30 per person if ordering the hand rolls or cut rolls combo. The best thing was the freshness of the seaweed. This crispiness is on similar level to what they do in omakase courses (generally sushi restaurants in America doesn't pay attention to this!). I was really happy with the quality and the pricing! As soon as I heard about Sora's grand opening, I knew I had to check it out, and I'm so glad I did because I've actually already been back two more times since then. I'm a huge fan of sushi, so I was excited to see that Sora serves hand rolls, cut rolls, nigiri sushi, sashimi, and sets. Across the times I've been here, I've tried quite a few of their menu items, and have been surprised by how fresh and delicious everything is here! Amazing quality, and also great value. The Full Set was only $45, and includes: Edamame, Salmon Sashimi (4 pc), Yellowtail Sushi (2 pc), Albacore Sushi (2 pc), Tuna Sushi (1 pc), Scallop Sushi (1 pc), Amberjack Sushi (1 pc), Jpn Sweet Shrimp Sushi (1 pc), Black Cod Sushi (1 pc), Fish Cut Roll (4 pc), and Lobster Cut Roll (4 pc). So this is a great option if you want to try a lot of different items. I've ordered this twice. Aside from the full set and 3 cut roll set which I also really love, my favorites are the Seared Black Cod nigiri sushi, and the tuna nigiri sushi. All three times I've been here, I've eaten at the sushi bar, but I see lots of people picking up their orders as takeout, and I heard you can also order and have it delivered to your table. This is a fairly new Sushi bar located in the bicycle casino. You literally sit at the bar, there are no tables. I ordered the 6 handrolls which they make fresh for you. The service was good which is why the 3 star. Our waitress was nice and attentive. However for quality of fish, it was just ok. The rice didn't seem like the normal sushi rice. Also rice to fish ratio was off. The rolls had way too much rice in it. The seaweed quality also seemed just ok, nothing spectacular. For 6 handrolls, it was $30. My friend went to Bicycle Club and raved about the affordable yet great quality sushi she had for lunch so I had to try. I always order the chicken yakitori--it's consistently on point every time. The chicken is juicy, well-seasoned, and has that perfect grilled flavor. One thing I like is that I switch up my sushi rolls every visit, and I've honestly never been disappointed. Everything always tastes fresh and well put together. That said, a couple rolls I keep coming back to are the Samurai Roll and the Blue Crab Salmon Roll--both are packed with flavor and definitely stand out on the menu. And I have to mention the miso soup... hands down the best I've had. It's simple, but done right with great flavor. Overall, this place is consistent, fresh, and reliable. If you like trying different sushi rolls or already have your favorites, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

You can really taste the quality in every bite. The teriyaki was perfectly cooked with a delicious glaze that had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The edemame (plain and spicy garlic) is a must. The miso soup is always on point and flavorful. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The sushi chefs ‍ Paul, Jackie, and Sam were engaging, polite, funny, and fun. The service was a 10/10! Stephanie, Judy, love boat, Liz, and Grace are so attentive and sweet. We feel at home when we eat at Ichiban. It's like Cheers where everyone knows your name. The drinks were also fantastic--refreshing and the perfect addition to the meal. On top of the great food, the atmosphere was so fun and lively. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great company, make friends (Cindy & Jonathan) and have an all-around great time. The staff and chefs were always fun and personable. But unfortunately that location closed years ago per the staff. This was our first time at the Norwalk location and we came for the Mon-Thursday 5pm-7pm. The apps, cut rolls and specialty rolls range from $5-$12!! Such a great deal in today's time. The location has its own parking out with 10+ spots, but street parking is available as well. We came in and were seated quickly. We noticed one of the servers was the same from the Glendale one. The interior decor is vibrant with neon lights and pictures and Japanese themed lanterns. There's a sushi bar and many tables for customers. We ordered off the Weekday Special & one roll from the regular menu. We spoke to the staff about how much we always visited their first location and how we remembered her from years ago. Which was a pleasant interaction for us all. :) We ordered: -Norwalk Roll -Rainbow Roll -Sashimi (4 pc) Mixed -Shishito Tempura -Blue Crab Cut (from regular menu) -Shrimp Tempura Cut The portion sizes of the cut rolls are huge. The quality of the fish was fresh. The sashimi size was abundant. The presentations of the rolls are as vibrant and delicious as we remember. As far as the taste. Great Still very good! We had so much sushi at a great price. We left smiling and happy because Sushi Joint was a memorable place for us. Total bill during special hour menu was $56 before tax. To our surprise, our server gave us some complimentary mochi ice cream. :D Thank you to the Sushi Joint staff for a great visit after all these years. We would happily make time to come to Norwalk just to have a great meal again from Sushi Joint again as they have always taken care of us and treated us like family. ( ^_^)b
