I visited here for a birthday dinner. Our server was very prompt with drinks. The restaurant is very pretty and I was happy to be at a hibachi table. The hibachi-ER (no idea what the term is ) chef was a lot of fun and seemed to know what he was doing. As I'm working on eating healthy, I stuck to hibachi chicken with noodles and extra vegetables. Everything was delicious and it was hard to keep myself from drinking my yum yum sauce. Portions were huge! We really enjoyed our dinner even though we were sat with rather rude people. I look forward to coming back.

We did not do hibachi, just sat in regular dining room. Service was good. I had steak teriyaki with fried rice. It also came with soup and salad. I really liked the steak. I LOVED the salad. Most places are cheap with the ginger dressing but not the case here! My mom had the chicken teriyaki and she enjoyed it. Portions are huge. We both had another full meal for lunch the next day.

Absolutely loved the food, the waitress, the hibachi chef and the quickness they got us in our seats. Kids got chicken and steak hibachi with a California roll. I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. Both were perfect and the steak melted in your mouth! The portions were huge and definitely have to take a to go box which we did. THE ONLY con was a waitress who completely hosted me when I was asking to pay my bill. I asked if she could grab my waitress so I could pay my bill. Her response was a simple "No" and continued to act like she was busy. I asked her again and again she looked at me and said simply "no" I asked her about 4 more times thinking it was a joke and she literally said the same thing and walked away. I was FUMING at this point. Talk about a waste of space and air. Had I been a girl I would have had to drag her face across the grill..... Other than the idiot the place is really good... Pricey but definitely worth it

Ichiban has a large menu with lots of options for everyone. Service is quick and friendly. I ordered their Age Tofu, Sashimi Dinner, and Steak and Scallop Hibachi dinner. The reason i gave them only 3 stars is because their hibachi dinner was not good. The fried rice and vegetables were salty and the meat seasoning was just alright. Considering they are known for their hibachi, i think this was quite disappointing. Other than that, their Age Tofu and the Sashimi Dinner were actually quite tasty. The sashimi tasted fresh and the cut was thick. It's still a good spot for dinner but if you are looking for top notch hibachi, this is not it.

Customer service is awful. Employees are not welcoming or helpful. One word answer, without a smile. It could be so much better.

Delicious & great service. The only complaint I have is charging $2.75 for club soda lol it's literally water.

I don't trust this location. I bought a $50 gift card as a gift. Apparently only $25 was put on it. Fortunately, we still had the receipt.

So I stopped in with my two godsons for a couple apps and a drink during an evening of food and…read moredrink tasting in the area. This is a super cool spot, and I'd say it's great for everything from a quick bite to a full meal. I'd also highly recommend it for a date night. My only very minor consideration, and probably more of a summer thing (because I run a little hot), is that it can get a little warm near the open kitchen. It's on the third floor and they are cooking with proper charcoal skewers, so I think that's probably just part of the experience. Having said that, they do everything possible to keep it comfortable. The atmosphere is chill, and the service is excellent. Since we had dinner reservations nearby, we just wanted a couple of bites. The otoro was melt-in-your-mouth awesome--fresh, with high-quality sushi rice(my nephew said it was the best sushi he's had in the city). We also tried the chicken and wagyu beef robatayaki, both of which were perfectly cooked and finished with a delicious sweet and umami glaze. I'd definitely come back for a full meal, but it's also a great option if you're looking for a cool place to grab a cocktail or beer and a couple of appetizers before or after other plans.

Really Instagram-worthy place with an awesome ambiance and great natural lighting. The condensation…read morefrom the HVAC running throughout the restaurant was a bit off-putting, especially when the liquid would occasionally drip on you. I loved being able to see into the kitchen and watch them cook the yakitori. The food was good and fresh, but honestly none of the flavors necessarily stood out as particularly memorable. Overall, a fairly good experience with nice presentation and a really beautiful atmosphere.

I made a reservation for four people for 5:30pm on Thursday night. I walked in and was able to be…read moreseated right away. The inside consists of several tables for four and a long bar area and it's pretty small so I wouldn't bring a group bigger than four here. The ambiance inside is upscale and beautiful. They have an electronic toilet in the bathroom with a heated seat. My only critique is that the acoustics could be better - it's very loud and echoey inside. The food was incredible. It can be pricey but I think it's worth it for some of the fresh fish in town. The flavors were beautiful and I could not be happier with the food.

I'm disappointed with how Gi-Jin handled my cancellation. Their OpenTable listing instructed me to…read morecall and leave a voicemail, so I did exactly that within the required notice period, but was still charged $100. I called five times in total: once to cancel, twice later to make sure the cancellation had been processed, and twice to return a call I received from them. The number has an automated "Thanks for calling Gi-Jin" greeting, but the only options are to hear the hours, make a reservation (went to voicemail if you selected), or leave a voicemail. There was no clear way to speak with anyone at the restaurant directly, and I never got a call back for the voicemails. I also tried several times to respond through OpenTable, but the conversation was read-only. So between five phone calls, multiple voicemails, and several attempts to message them, I have no idea what else I could have done. Honestly it shouldn't be this hard to talk to someone, especially for a self proclaimed "upscale" restaurant. I get why restaurants have cancellation policies, especially smaller restaurants with limited seating. But if customers are required to cancel by voicemail, those messages need to be checked. At the very least, there should be a confirmation or another working way to follow up. The part that really bothers me is the absurd amount of time I spent trying to reach them, following the instructions, and giving the required notice, but was still charged because their communication system doesn't work. Now I have to go through my credit card company because I STILL can't reach them.
