Great ice cream, great atmosphere, and great customer service makes this one of my favorite ice cream shops in the area!

DO NOT eat here if you see a tiny blonde waitress and 3 high school dudes all wearing glasses. My party and several other parties waited an hour and received horrible service. It took them 30 minutes to take our order. And even then I had to flail my arm in the air to get their attention. We waited half an hour after ordering 1 sandwich and 1 salad all the while hearing other tables complain about the wait. The place was barely half full. At some point after another half hour passed, I asked my friend of he wanted to get something to eat. So we left. I am a patient person, but I will NEVER order anything but take-out from this place. I came here because one of my friends has left rave reviews that have made my mouth water! We weren't hungry we were mainly killing time. So we order the Cookie Monster... Oh my word!! Great ice cream; decent food. I've been going to this place for years! This has been my favorite ice cream spot since I was a child. I always ordered the bubble gum ice cream. My sister and I would compete to see who got the most gum balls. Yes, that means we spit out all the slobber-laden gum balls in a napkin and chewed them AFTER the ice cream was done. Ice cream made right inside their location. Tried many flavors all were exceptional. Ordered the cake batter which I soon found out was extremely dense and rich. So filling I couldn't finish it. I can go through two scoops of baskin robins ice cream no problem. Anyways the cake batter is a keeper even when it melted it was the consistency of actual cake batter. Mom got the raspberry cheesecake she raved about that. Hers was creamy and rich with the subtle flavors. My daughter deviated from myself and siblings and opted for peppermint. Flavor was perfect. I think is one of the best shops for ice cream. You have 31 ice cream : get and go or sit in not comfortable chairs, corporate ice cream. (Same taste. Ever day ) Stone cold: corporate ice cream with a song and dance. Same uncomfortable chairs or take it home. Velvet Creamery: it's a runner up. Nice place for nice ice cream. But mostly food oriented. But they make nice ice cream. But this place is focused on ice cream and want to wow you with there creations. Then come the taste. So good so creamy. The service was nice and cheerful. I was happy to go there and I enjoy my self each time I'm there. Yes you pay a little more but you get way more quality, service, ambiance ice cream parlor. The ice-cream is delicious and made in-house, and the service is friendly and helpful! I've recently had both the butter brickle and the peanut butter cup ice-cream--both excellent on their own and even better with the marshmallow topping. Hadn't been here in years. Decided to come by to try it out and bring back childhood memories. Upon walking in, I noticed that the restaurant was clean and very pleasing to the eye. I'm a sucker for good American fare in the form of childhood favorites like grilled cheese sammies, burgers, mac n' cheese, etc. This place is no exception especially with it's well-established Modesto roots. According to some longtime residents, this place has been bringing good eats and treats since 1979. Coming in I definitely felt the kid-friendly vibe and that's good because I'm a kid at heart. I met my friend here for dinner only because I had noticed it when I used to workout at the nearby Planet Fitness (fitting right?). I looked over the menu quickly and was drawn exactly to what I wanted, Double Decker Grilled Cheese Sandwich (full order). It's a delectable buttery gooey sandwich with apple slices and a pickle spear on the side. The sandwich literally melted in my mouth while bringing a flood of great childhood memories. I should've been done after that but I decided to up the ante with one of their signature sundaes. They have an array of pre-imagined creams but I zero'd in on their Junior Mint Mountain Sundae because had I ordered a regular I would have to go to the Emergency Room! The Mint Mountain consists of peppermint ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, almonds & a cherry! I'm a fresh and minty guy by nature so this sundae and I were meant for each other. Overall this is a great place to take the kids or be a kid! PS - I went back and had their other mint sundae, Emerald Island (Mint chocolate chip ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, almonds and a cherry) but I made the huge mistake of ordering the regular. The ice cream is awesome! I've been told the coffee ice cream includes a full pot of freshly brewed coffee, so you know they actually make the ice cream in-house. The service is always friendly, but it could stand to be more responsive as we usually have to go up to the counter after waiting 15-20 minutes for the waitress to bring our check. read more

You better share because this can be a full meal. Loved it! I ordered the Bonanza split. It was so delicious! It cost about $8.75 but totally worth it since we shared the ice cream anyways. Since it's a family owned business, u would think they would take PRIDE in what they sell.. Food or ice cream.. Went here on Saturday night for a "date" with my SO. Just wanted to get some ice cream and enjoy some time away from the house. I ordered a banana split.... and they forgot the bananas?!?! How do you forget the key ingredient?! They quickly apologized and cut up some bananas... but he used he bare hands to put the fruit onto the ice cream... is that even allowed in the food industry? This is prime ice cream. The spot in Modesto for ice cream. There are so many different options, as well as seasonal flavors. The food is actually pretty good too, but could use some work. This isn't what it is known for however, so they are forgiven. I have to recommend that everyone go here with a big group and order the La Palooza, it's something like 10 pounds of ice cream with all different flavors that is an experience everyone should enjoy. read more

We stopped here because of a Groupon. I was surprised it was open on Sunday and even more surprised that it filled up by 1p! My mom and I shared a Pink Lemonade Freeze but you couldn't taste anything but ice cream. I got the meatball minestrone with a club sandwich and the soup was rather good, I was sad the cup was empty, ha. The sandwich was good and, even though it was too big, I liked it that way. I loved the build your own meal and, if we go back, I will definitely try that. Stopped in this afternoon for an early dinner. I had the Turkey Club Wrap with a spinach wrap. VERY good. Served with a dill spear and the traditional sample [about 1 oz] of ice cream. Once seated, we have had to wait for menus, to have our order taken, to get our drinks refilled, etc. I will say, the place is almost always packed, and the servers are usually young teenagers, so they're probably lacking experience on how to be as efficient as possible. That being said, what the service lacks in efficiency, they make up for with friendliness. Great personalities, and very smiley :) The FOOD at ICC is great!! I literally have yet to find a better French Dip sandwich in Modesto! Shocking for a place named after ice cream, but it's true. The ice cream? Fugettabout it!! It's awesome!!! I love the Butterfingers & Cream flavor and also the Swiss Orange Chip...OMG you can't get that just everywhere... The food is amazing! I decided to write the review right now because I'm really craving some of the delicious ice cream. The flavors are SO good. No skimping on the candy on the flavors with pieces! Hurray! Corey, Bonnie, Sherah, and James are the fabulous owners, and it's not altogether hard to get to know them! The staff is super friendly, if forgetful every so often. There is not one entree menu item that I've tasted that wasn't delicious! I recommend letting Bonnie recommend something! At 12:30 they'd been open for an hour & the patio tables were still CRAMMED inside. Only 1 other table of customers & there were 2 servers & service was still seriously SLOW. Had a club sandwich on sourdough & the bread was toasted so hard that it left me with cut up my gums for days after.
