I order the same thing every time (Mint Mint, Chocolate Chocolate Chip w/chocolate shavings instead of brownies) and it's perfect every time! I should have reviewed sooner but I had a wonderful experience today that really pushed me to review! I walked in with my young son today a few minutes after opening. Alexis was soo helpful. They told me that kid scoops were an option - which I didn't know! And then proceeded to chat with me while making our ice creams. They were cheerful and made me feel so welcome and glad I brought my son in! I was really disappointed with the experience my husband had at this Cold Stone. He was having a hard time picking up our ice cream order, and instead of showing patience or politely explaining what appeared to be a new rule, the manager was very rude. Customer service should be about treating people with kindness, especially when they're already having a difficult time. The interaction left my husband feeling embarrassed and upset, which is the last thing anyone expects when picking up a simple ice cream order. He wasn't looking for anything special just a little understanding and respect. Unfortunately, the manager's attitude completely ruined the experience. We hope the staff, especially the management at this location, receive better customer service training because no customer should be treated that way. Went in with my family and kids to take home some cups of ice cream. The young man helping us, had glasses and a back brace on, he was very unfriendly, annoyed or seemed bothered at us even being there. I asked for marshmallows on my sons ice cream and he then told me "they are going to just fall off" i asked him if he can put them in a lid and just cap the ice cream cup, with no response from him, he just walked away bothered. This trip to the ice cream shop was a reward for my kids and the service was just rude and not welcoming. Definitely won't be going back to this location. I removed myself and my kids and had my husband finish up the order because i too work in costume services and i could see how we were a bother. Used to live near the Cold Stone headquarters so I've been to quite a few locations and this is probably the dirtiest location. The floors were very sticky. The walls were also dirty. I feel like the whole place needs to be pressure washed. Every Cold Stone has a certain smell in the air and this was no different. The ice cream and mix ins were just fine. I have been coming to this Cold Stone for years! The ice cream is always consistent and it is always one of the top ice cream choices of the 209! I prefer this location versus the one at Vintage Faire Mall because it it cleaner and the service and space is better! Well disappointing to give out a 1 star but this place deserved it. First no one greeted me when I came in. 2 gals working each with a customer but nonlook no welcome. Second and this was the starting point of health hazards. The one finished ringing up a customer handling cash, came straight over to me without washing hands. I asked her if she could wash them politely and she went to the back. For a minute I was not sure if she was coming back. As I glanced around I wondered and worried wht she went to the back to wash. There was a sink and soap and should have been used, especially since a customer had asked. She then took my order, rang me up (I thought she said the other employee was making my milkshake) then without washing hands made my shake. As I wait I was looking around and 2 of the pictures is the disgusting condition of this place. Black drains in customer view, waffle makers crusty and have not been cleaned for a while. The place wasn't clean, I figured they had a little rush as there was people at the tables. Floors were pretty bad, again understandable for the rush. I don't want to know what the back of house looks like. I was a district manager for an ice cream shop and probably why things stuck out for me, but this is health code violation like crazy. I hope they clean up this place. I noticed another 2 star 30 days ago because of cleanliness. We will take our business to the riverbank location from now on. read more

Had my two nephews this weekend and the cashier was really a wonderful person. Aside from the fantastic ice cream my nephews wanted to write their favorite flavor on the board from a previous promotion. Being 7 and 6 respectively my nephews did not understand that that was not something was being done anymore. Hearing what they wanted the associate at the counter creatively pulled some slips off paper and gave them some pens to jot down their flavors. This really made their and it made me really proud that people still care about going above and beyond the call of duty especially when it is for the little ones. But I digress, the Cold Stone Creamery is a beautiful corner shop that has all the aesthetics of a traditional ice cream parlor with every flavor being as delicious as the last. Once I explained to him my nephew has a dairy allergy he scooped the sorbet back up and put it back with all the other sorbet. I called around and different places referred me over to Cold Stone on McHenry in Modesto because they have the equipment and talent to do a lot of different types of cakes. I spoke to Marissa and she immediately was interested in my idea and asked a lot more questions to get a better idea about it. Marissa helped made it a perfect cake and added her own ideas to make it even better.
