When you think about getting food delivered, you don't normally consider ice cream. Unless you're four-and-three-quarters, and truly know what's up. This evening, me and my oldest tiny human had big plans: watch The Little Mermaid dressed as characters from The Little Mermaid while eating treats. She wanted ice cream, and I didn't want to run to the store dressed as Ursula on a random night in September. Ice Cream Junction appeared on UberEats and we got a delicious tub of cotton candy ice cream and I also got a sneaky soda for myself. The folks thanked us for supporting local on the outside of the delivery bag, which was super sweet. It's also likely a sign that not many people are geniuses ordering ice cream to their bed these days, but since we can all agree we want these places around next summer, might I suggest you give it a try? read more

Came here for the first time about a month ago. Loved the interior 50's style parlour/candy shoppe vibes! They had a huge selection of ice cream (not to mention Kawartha ice cream!). Now that it's summer, I'm always on the hunt for ice cream! This small shop is a great spot for a cone in the Junction! Firstly, I can't help but love the pink and white cutsie color scheme. The walls are pink and white. The signage is pink and white. Even the giant lollypops for sale are pink. This place is very family friendly with short children's stools and a wooden step for kids to see into the ice cream display. Note that seating is very limited, but you might be lucky enough to snag a seat inside or outside. As for the portions, they are indeed HUGE. I ordered a double scoop and I was pretty stuffed after. - Stuffed with delicious red velvet cheesecake and salted caramel truffle ice cream. Bloated yuuum. I walked over to the Ice Cream junction yesterday afternoon in search of a good cone. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a good variety of ice cream flavours like rum raisin, bordeaux cherry, and pralines and cream, to name a few. There was a wide selection of cone types (regular, sugar, waffle, etc.) and sizes to choose from. Milkshakes and root beer floats were on the menu as well. It was hard deciding what I wanted but I opted for bordeaux cherry ice cream in a sugar cone and was very pleased with the portion size. My daughter opted for orange sorbet and was very satisfied. The shop is just about as cute as it gets. Candy, lollipops, stripes...you name it, it's there. The staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back. It's a super cute seasonal shop so make sure you pay them a visit during the (usually) hot summer months (this summer excluded...weak). Had never been before but we were in the neighbouhood for a local area festival and my pregnant fiancee had a hankering for ice cream, so I didn't object (also, because... Ice Cream!) They do old-timey milkshakes with real ice cream, made in classic milkshake mixers that look like total throw backs to the 50s and 60s. While I didn't have room for a milkshake having eaten basically all day, they did have a full stock of Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream! I asked for a regular scoop of a Salted Caramel Fudge something something flavour (It had a lot of amazing things in it) and I ended up getting a monster scoop on a cone - so much for not having any room, I actually think the milkshake would have been lighter. Highly recommend the ice cream sandwiches (the soft cookies make it so easy to get the perfect bite), and the hello dolly bars are great too. Reasonable prices on pints. The ice cream is good, but it's the service that stands out. My son has an allergy to milk protein, so ice cream shops have always been out of the question for us. Even though he can eat sorbet, we are too frightened by cross-contamination to risk it. That said, we stopped by this place and spoke to the owner. She was so amazing, and her and her staff take great care when serving my son his sorbet. Since then we've gone there too many times to count now and never a problem. As a parent of a child with a food allergy it can be heartbreaking when they want something so "normal" for other kids to eat (pizza, ice cream, etc) and they can't. Having your 5 year old tell you he wishes he was "normal" is enough to tear at the hardest of hearts. So, when a place like this takes the time to be cautious & allows him a "normal" experience... Great neighbourhood gem that only opens from Spring to Fall. Glad they are open again, and this homemade ice cream place is usually packed with families and kids at all opening hours. They have a good variety of flvours, and I've noticed that some seem to change - like one day it was green tea, and then next there was irish cream. YUM. So it's nice there will always be a surprise. Good prices, and huge portions. There is a small kiddie size for .75 which I think its the perfect size for me. I'll get it next time because the waffle cone we ordered (two scoops) we actually froze and kept again for the 2nd day. Still amazing. read more

Cute little ice cream shop in the Junction that's a nice destination for warm summer night's walk. Prices are fair - on par with Baskin Robbins. Good place for families and kids as they usually have a few small tables and stools outside for the young ones. Limited seating for everyone else. YESSSS I agree with the other reviewers that this place has great ice cream, gigantic sized scoops and tons of yummy old fashioned candy! I've been on a bit of an ice cream kick as of late and I don't know why I had yet to try Ice Cream Junction. I love local small businesses. Walked around the neighbourhood one evening and stopped in for a scoop. I love me a waffle cone, so there no wavering on that choice. I picked some sort of cookie dough flavour, but since there wasn't enough left in the tub for a full (HUUUUGE) scoop, she said i could go half half with another flavour as well. I opted for mint chip. Yum. It was basically two scoops. It took me forever to finish! My hubby usually has hollow legs when it comes to eating so i got him 2 scoops in a waffle cone. and i swear this has never happened in all the time I've known him, but... he actually couldn't finish it. I have been a customer since I was a child. Now in twenties I still come by during every summer with my friends and family. The staff there are amazing, kind and friendly people who care about their customers. Ice cream is one of those things I rarely bring into the house because when I know it's there I just cannotstopeatingit, so it's always a treat to go out for some. Ice Cream Junction, just a bit west of Crema on Dundas West, makes that restraint worthwhile. Many kinds of ice cream with many different serving options, from super tiny cones for young children to sundaes and milkshakes; if you're not into ice cream there's also a ton of candy and chocolate for sale as well. Two additional details that work in favour of this place: First, on Fridays and Saturdays it's open til midnight (and I believe the rest of the week they're open until 8 if not later), which is great for night owls. Also, the people who run it area really nice; the guy put a bit too much ice cream in the machine when he was making my girlfriend's milkshake and instead of throwing it out he brought it to us in a separate cup as we were eating outside - a small gesture, but one that went a long way. read more

Good prices (actually a few cents cheaper than Baskin Robbins), friendly service, easy to find in the Junction. The 36 flavours of ice cream - not sure if it's all or just certain flavours - is from the Kawartha Dairy in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Flavours range from classics like mint chip and cookie dough to a rotating selection of interesting flavours like butter tart and creme brulee. They also offer a neat selection of candies if you're not into ice cream. The seating is a bit limited, and it does get busy but the owners are more than accomodating. Very family friendly! They also have a loyalty card where you buy ten cones and get one free. I'm on my sixth so far. :) So that's the scoop! har har. read more

Yesterday I was *really* craving their Bordeaux Cherry ice cream. I called around 8pm because I wasn't sure when they were open to. The woman on the phone (pretty sure she's the owner) said they actually close at 8pm, but there were still people in the store eating so we should come by anyway. We rushed over and had the most pleasant experience. I got one scoop of Cherry ice cream, but she really filled it! Definitely was more like two scoops, because she knew I loved it so much! My girlfriend got Wolf tracks, which was also super delicious! We had a great conversation, and I thanked her for staying open for our late night craving.
