Never in my life have I felt the need to write a review prior to them actually doing any service. The fucking attitude on this guy is beyond...just extra. I called and he sounded cool. Said I could bring the car and the parts and he'd just charge for labor. Cool. It's a big job and someone else quoted it at $5500. I got parts for about $1200 and was figuring another $1000 in labor, but whatever. We never got that far. I went in person to talk about what we could work out. Roman is the jerk's name. He was under a car doing an alignment while his other mechanics paced around uselessly. Of course he's the boss so I had to wait for him. He was under there for a good 20 minutes before he came out for a cigarette and chatted a bit with the car's owner. When he was done chatting he looked my way but it was as if I was invisible. Made eye contact and I waved at him at which point he turned around without so much as an acknowledgement that I was alive, and went back under the car. I waited 25 minutes and he KNEW I was there the whole time and couldn't say, "Hey, I see you but I'm super busy." Anyway, sucked up my pride and called today. He answered and I got about 3 words out of my mouth when he cut me off and said "I can't answer your questions right now. Call back tomorrow," and immediately hung up on me. Eat shit Roman. I'll take my business to someone who is at least courteous enough to treat me like I'm a living breathing human being. read more

Honestly the first time I used this place was because of the ridiculously enormous "NYS Inspection" sign out front and my regular guy for inspections was closed. Being born and raised in Brooklyn and living here for 46 years , unfortunately I'm automatically skeptical of all mechanics, plumbers, electricians and accountants. Been ripped off way too many times too not feel this way. But I needed the inspection and gave it a shot expecting to "need brakes" or "tires" at the least. The most common inspection rip offs. My 2005 52,000 mile Corolla is meticulously maintained by me and I knew it didn't need anything. They did an actual thorough inspection, inspecting lights, horn, seat belts, removed wheel, checked brakes, raised on lift and checked underside, exhaust, suspension etc. checked ecm for codes. For sure I thought I was screwed, they'll "find something". I still don't believe it, but they didn't find anything meaning they didn't try to rip me off. Just gave me my sticker and sent me on my way. Six months later it was time for my 2013 30,000 mile HIghlander to have its inspection and once again for reason unclear to me, he was kind of babbling, my guy couldn't do it, so I went back to ICE, again skeptical, but because of my Corolla experience, a little less skeptical than usual. Again not to rehash the whole story, but basically I had the same experience as the Corolla. No hidden charges or made up "fails" that need fixing. Thanks ICE for making me a believer that there are still some honest small business shops out there. I'd definitely recommend ICE for inspections. I don't know about other types of work BUT I think I'm willing to give them a shot and if they do find something I believe it actually needs fixing. read more

After prior assurances by Roman (the proprietor) that he would do a proper rebuilt transmission installation, I.C.E. IMPROPERLY installed my rebuilt transmission and took NO responsibility for their incompetent work immediately afterwards. The rebuilt transmission was later professionally examined and forensically diagnosed by the rebuilt transmission company and rendered damaged due to faulty installation procedures; I subsequently had no choice but to have a competent transmission specialist/establishment do the correct job at the expense of yet another rebuilt transmission and additional labor charge.
