Went there on a random weekday morning for an inspection and oil change. Quick in and out in about 30 minutes. They have a waiting room for you to sit or you can just stand outside. I didn't come here for any other work done on my car, but I noticed that they do seem to have a lot of projects they are working on concurrently. read more

I have been a customer with them for over 10 years and they took care of all my and family's vehicles, old and new, over the years. They are honest, reliable and professional. They will do the smallest job to the biggest . Their trained staff will also take good care of you and one of the owners will always be in the shop to see you through from the beginning to end. The shop is one of the few that will do body work & paint jobs as well as any mechanical work. When they replace a part, they will give you two options. One with OEM parts and another with after market parts with different price points and their recommendations. The price is always reasonable and they will treat you like family. Unless you have an uncle in the business, you can't get a better deal. Even then maybe..... Also they are of Chinese decent and speak both English and Chinese fluently so you can relax and talk to them without a problem. read more

Key is AWESOME. I took my car in to get a vehicle inspection, with my check engine light on. He was able to troubleshoot the issue quickly and replaced my part for me. I dreaded getting a vehicle inspection, since last year I had the same check engine light on and was told to replace many parts for $$$$$$. It was depressing, since I had to take my car out for drives to make sure the check engine light stayed off. I took it to 2 different places, took them awhile to figure out the issue. So I am impressed with Key, he replaced the right part to resolve the issue quickly. And I didn't have to pay that much this year for my inspection and repair =P. Travelled from Boston to NYC and saw that the check engine light along with a few others on the dashboard came on. I took it to this shop based on Yelp reviews and as it was one of the few places open on New Years Eve. He said it was a cylinder misfire and that replacing the coil should fix it. That was $150. And that my radiator was leaking which explained the heat not working. I got it both done for $470 cash. The mechanic seemed trustworthy and I called my mechanic back at home and he said I should get it done. Once I got my car back, it was working fine until the next day about an hour into my drive, the lights came back on reading the same codes. Back in Boston, my mechanic said that the coil used is an non-OEM part and that he should've changed the spark plug. (He didn't.) I got my spark plug changed and a few days later, lights went back on again. Looks like the coil that this place used wasn't the right coil. Bummer that I went to a mechanic out of town. Not sure how I feel about this place, but I'm hoping that the radiator is put in properly now... read more

I came here after reading all the positive reviews on this place. Now I am very skeptical of those reviews. After spending 15 minutes in this place, I am very disappointed that I did. They don't really listen to what you say. They just took the car in, ask you to wait outside, and then do work without your knowledge or permission, and then charge for it. He gave detailed explanation to my questions and some tips on how to take care of my car. There is also a waiting room with a bathroom and tv if you plan to wait while they repair. As a woman, anything related to car maintenance/mechanics is always an anxious time. However, that was not the case when I had to bring my car in for inspection. I did not hesitate in going to 62nd Auto since I had dealt with them previously. They seemed like honest, decent people. A rarity in that business. I needed the brake pads changed and brand options were offered. They did not try to talk me into taking the more expensive product. After the work had been done, Key took my car for a spin around the block just to make sure it was working properly. I've had my brake pads changed numerous times and, not once did that happen. I was at first surprised when he drove my car out as I thought he was parking it outside for me. This just shows how meticulous they are. Was recommended by a friend to bring my car to the shop. My car was rear ended and the bumper was totally ruined. Key and Ricky were really helpful with claiming insurance and having the inspector come and inspect the car multiple times. They also helped me ordered new parts for the rear bumper. The process took a really long time, almost about a month and the insurance company wouldn't pay for an extension for the rental car. But when I got the car back a few days later, it looked brand new! The color was a tiny bit off but you can barely notice it. I'm just very picky loll but I am very thankful ! My RX7 was in a light collision where the door needed to be replaced and the quarter panel needed new paint. I bought a used door with dings on it (wasn't perfect) and the shop did the repairs. When I got the car back, you couldn't even tell the door was a replacement door, they matched it perfectly to OEM paint (inside and out). The quarter panel was blended in and the full unibody received a full coat of clear. The job was done perfectly (and no short cuts were taken) because they cleaned up the previous owner's paint job and the car looks better than before! I'd definitely come back as a customer if I needed repairs/paint job. read more
