This is a review of 3 places so crossposting it for Island Toyota dealership, Island Toyota Service Center, and a body shop in Brooklyn Auto Dent. This must be the worst dealership there is. I went to their repair service on quintard to get my wheel alignment checked after a parking lot collision where a person backed her car into mine. The insurance adjuster was supposed to go there to write up an estimate. When they got there the next day, my car wasn't even there anymore. Without my consent, they sent it out to Brooklyn to some body shop called Auto Dent. The insurance had to schedule another adjuster to go take a look at my car now in Brooklyn. To make a long story short, the body shop kept my car for 3 weeks, returned it unfixed. Nothing was done. In addition, when they towed my car from Toyota Service Center to Brooklyn, they used my plates for the toll which I got billed for. Island Toyota dealership cashed the Geico insurance check for $5,600+ and returned my car not repaired. They won't refund the money. They asked to bring the car back so they can fix it - thus admitting they didn't fix it in the first place. The guy from Auto Dent couldn't get his story straight either. He was very rude over the phone, first claiming he fixed the car, then saying he fixed some things, then said he can fix it if we bring it back. How could I send my car back to them? I went to another reliable body shop to get a statement that car wasn't fixed and payed for it out of my own pocket. Filed a DMV report against the body shop already. Auto Dent, Island Toyota, Toyota Service the worst customer service, and repair service there is. I assume, they went for the insurance fraud because my car wasn't badly damaged and if the owner didn't know much about cars, they would've never noticed that the car isn't fixed. Luckily, my husband knows a thing or two and after he brought the car home and started checking, he saw that nothing was done as per the estimate. It's hard to see at pick up as they give you "the complementary wash" so the car is wet and you can't see anything. We called the insurance back, they sent the local adjuster who came by and confirmed the job was not done. They were supposed to replace a headlight as per the insurance adjuster's estimate but they glued the one that was originally on the car. When confronted, they argued that they replaced it until they finally said that they glued it. Along with the repair receipt, they attached a list of parts they were going to use for my car with addresses where they supposedly got them from. They didn't use any. The other body shop confirmed that the bumper on my car is still the same bumper that was on the car and not a new one. They actually didn't even put back all the clips. Paul is great guy and will try to help u out obviously with respect to making money. Don't get me wrong I'm a customer of his for a while and he will always take care of me even when he may not be making $$ on me. So after Paul and his crew fixed my door so I could use it, and after I traveled with the car SO much easier to travel in after their fix, I returned and had them replace the door. They were fantastic to work with. I've never before found a repair business through Yelp, just basing my selection on reviews and on locating a business that was convenient to walk to, but really really glad I used Yelp to find Auto Dent. Am letting my mechanic (based in Gowanus) know, as they didn't have a body shop they could recommend. Pleasant to deal with, good work, and they left my car cleanest it's been since I bought it new. So, I don't even know where to begin! First of all, I want to say thank you to Paul and his team at Auto Dent Collision for taking good care of me and my car! I can't even thank them enough. Basically, somebody vandalized my car. I had so many scratches, dents, tire hubcap damage, etc. I searched the top collision shops in Brooklyn, and they came up. I made the call and spoke to Mary Ann (she felt warm, and I felt welcome). I met Paul the later that day, and I knew I could trust him. He took real good care of me. I am pleased I found this place. I would recommend this place to my family and friends (I already have). If you want a trustworthy place to fix your car, this is the place to go, honestly. I have attached some before and after pictures so you guys can see the magic that happened. It took two weeks to get my whole car done, the before photos don't even show the real impact of what was done. Update 7/24/2018 I will be bringing my car in Friday hopefully, if nothing comes up with my family. Paul has responded, and I truly appreciate that. He is a true businessman, that not only wants to take your money and forget about you, but a man who sticks to his word and gets the job done. Side note: I took my car to service at Mazda and they asked me questions, etc. and I told them what happened and how I needed a whole new paint job, and they couldn't believe it. I was rear ended in two auto collisions the first week of July. I was really dreading dealing with a mechanic because I never know if the mechanic is bs-ing me on a part or unnecessary work that needs to be done. I yelped and found Auto Dent's reviews to be the most sincere and gave them a call. I spoke to Paul, one of the owners, and right off the bat felt like he was very straightforward with explaining not only how to deal with my damage but insurance matters, as well. I urgently brought my car in on July 2nd because I had an event to attend in upstate NY for that weekend. Paul quickly fixed my broken brake lights and while waiting on a bumper, returned my car to me for this road trip. Never in a million years would I have imagined that 15 min. from reaching my destination on July 5th, that a driver who was not looking ahead, would smash into my rear AGAIN, damaging most of rear driver side! I felt so helpless and hopeless as I was now 2.5 hours from Brooklyn. I immediately called Paul, who assured me that he can help me with the damage and insurance. With his assurance, I felt some relief! Longer story short, two weeks later, my car was towed back from upstate to Auto Dent. Paul said he had to order original parts for my Mazda 5. He said the car will be almost like new! Two weeks later, my car was ready for pick up and looked almost brand new! I am so thankful for Paul and his family owned business! I was drawn to this wonderful body shop by reading all of the fabulous Yelp reviews and to boot, it is in my neighborhood so I could drop the car off and walk home. Boy! My car looks better than when I bought it 4 years ago! These sweethearts even fixed things I didn't ask for just because it was the right thing to do! Had a little fender bender and was shopping around for a reputable place to fix the unsightly dent. And luckily I came across this place. There's a reason they've been in business for 60 years. Paul, the manager, was super responsive and helpful from the get-go. Told him I didn't need a paint job, just needed the dent popped back out and realigned, he walked me thru the whole process and put me at ease. This place is so great. My car was damaged by a branch that landed on it in a storm. I thought it might be totaled (the first place I took it said it would cost $10K to fix, which has to be more than the car is worth). My insurance didn't cover the damage, but Paul worked with me to fix what needed to be fixed at a very reasonable price. This company is legit and it seems like they do good business. However, I was compelled to write this review not because of the quality of service but to rate the pricing. I went to Auto Dent Collision and 3 other reputable businesses which included 2 dealerships, to get a quote for a minor fender bender. Auto Dent's price quote amounted to $1600 not including taxes and fees, while one of the dealership's service center and another body shop quoted me $950 not including taxes and fees. The last dealership quoted me $700 including taxes and fees, needless to say I went with them. My qualm with ADC is, why are you charging 160% of what everyone else is charging? I was not nervous when I came to the garage with the awesome (and more importantly recent) reviews on Yelp. And what also made this place great to deal with is that Paul seemed at ease communicating with me. Usually whenever I go to a dealership, garage or even when one of those car accessory places like Autozone, anyone who works in these place have the tendency to only talk to my husband and totally ignore me even when I'm standing right next to my husband. My 2 yr old Hyundai needed bodywork and I was apprehensive about bringing it to any collision shop as I'm a perfectionist. Well the work done by Auto Dent was on a scale of 1 to 10 an 11! There was extensive work done to the rear door, door jamb, rear quarter panel and rear bumper. The car looks like it just came out of the showroom and the paint matched exactly. I originally requested a quote for a structural damage inspection and Paul (owner) answers my inquiry and offers to take a look for free! I thought there must be a catch, no way anyone would work for free in this day and age. Turns out they're a family owned business for 60+ years and would really just help someone out. I pull up to the shop and almost immediately, Paul comes out to greet me. I give him the run down of my situation, he listens to the entire story then goes and makes his way around my car pointing out all the things that WOULD indicate structural damage, and goes into detail about what to look out for. Car has a few scratches and dents, but a clean bill of health after all! After all the time he spent, he doesn't even try to sell me any products or push services on me. I came in on Wednesday with a bumper half hanging off and on Friday after waiting 1.5 hours for servicing, it looks like nothing happened. I was so upset when my bumper came off of my brand new 2013 Nissan Sentra that I've had for only 2 months!!. After visiting the dealership with the car still being under warranty, they failed to do anything for me but have no fear JR to the rescue.
