The horn on my car stopped working the other day, so I brought it here based off the good reviews on Yelp, and I'm glad that I did. Within a couple of minutes, the horn was working, but they explained to me that a new one was still needed as there was an internal problem with the component and so, although it was currently working, it would most likely stop working again soon. They made some phone calls to see if they could get the part, but they couldn't. They advised me to get the part from Ford and bring it to them so they could instal it. Best of all, they didn't charge me anything for getting it to work. I know that's a small thing because, realistically, they really didn't do much, but it's that kind of honesty and integrity that I appreciate. For that reason I'll definitely be coming back in the future. read more

The main reason they earned their 5 star review? They turn down work. Other places could easily lie and find work that needs to be done. Ex: Go in for an oil change and you'll need a new timing belt or a different fluid change. Here, they only do what you ask for. They will turn down work if they don't think it's necessary. I went in for an oil change and my dealer told me that my brakes are due for a change. Went to Nick's and asked for the oil change and new brakes. The mechanic (I believe it's Ming) told me that they still had another half year to a year left on them considering that this is my daily driver. He told me just check it again next time I'm in for an oil change. Most recently, I went in for an oil change and had him check my brake fluid because it was within the timeframe of replacement. Ming turned down the work again because the brake fluid was still clean. If you know what you need, this is exactly the place to go for honest work. read more

Thank you Nick! We were recommended to go here by our family member. We needed oil change and car inspection. So efficient! Nick told us how long it would take and when to come back. He changed our oil and inspected the car in 45 minutes. He did everything with integrity and honesty. If you asked him to do something for your car, he did it for a fair price. Definitely recommend! read more

Excellent and speedy service. He told me my oil change would be 20 minutes but he was done in 10. Very speedy and very professional.

the two guys here seem decent. I have only come for new york state inspections, but they don't mess around with you. Can't say the same for other places. read more

Out of all the car service businesses, this is the ONLY one I trust. It is so hard to find an honest, reliable establishment that isn't money-hungry, but I have found one. I didn't want to post my review, since this place is my little gem and is the first time I've dropped my keys off and had complete trust. read more

Make sure ask for nick, he know what he doing. I bring my ML550 to him for Service. Fair price. Nice people. read more

This was my 1st car inspection since returning to NY so I was apprehensive if I would get ripped off. Yelp was my go to and I found this garage/business. I figured you needed an appointment so I called first and low and behold you didn't need one. Besides an inspection I needed to have my front license plate holder attached. When I arrived I was fortunate to be able to park in the driveway because the cars are double parked all long this street and it is quite a hectic area plus the city bus comes down this Avenue, so congestion is high! Meng greeted me when I entered garage, he didn't tell me his name till the end when I asked. He was diligent, fast and met my expectations and requests! I'm not sure if it was a slow day for them due to the cold weather but I was expecting to wait a while. To my surprise I was in and out within 30 minutes or less! I will return for sure. read more

Nicks - Auto Repair - Auto Repair Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

So unprofessional, high prices, the worst place in Brooklyn to fix your car. Makes stories about the car, but if you try another shop there is no big deal. Don't waste your money and time. There are many good trusty shops around. read more

Two Words: RUDE and IMPATIENT Called them to get a quote for an oil change, the guy who picked up was very impatient, (our phone call lasted 20 seconds) he just told me "we ONLY have regular oil"(BASIC). As I proceeded to ask him another question the guy already hung up the phone. WTF LOL. THANK YOU, pleasure DOING business with you guys!!!!! I called the auto repair down the block, the representative personally went on the computer to look for my car's filter and car's oil and broke down the prices for me. Here's your first 1 star. Please learn from your competitors. You just lost yourself a customer, maybe even more if you keep up with that attitude. read more

Went to get oil change from BP Petrol on 8th Ave and the guy tried to trick me for getting more services. Luckily I refused and went to Nicks Auto Repair instead. He was really honest and told me I didn't need to change anything! Will definitely come back here for all future works. It's so hard to find a mechanic that is honest nowadays. read more

I've been going to them for over 5 years now. you won't get any bullshit here, they tell you exactly what you need and if they can't fix it they won't charge you for an estimate or anything. read more

Nick and Ming is the most honest mechanic in the neighborhood hands down. Trust worthy and great pricing. I've been going to Nick for the past 5 years and I recommend everyone to this shop. read more

Been coming to these guys since they open, what I like is that they don't talk much and get straight to the point. Very honest and never change unnecessary parts. This is a mechanic shop so I wasn't expecting to be treated like a prince, usually is just "hi, what you need?" Minimal chatting, they just get the job done and I pay. Price is honest, no hidden fees or charges. These guys are different, no sweet talking like most of the shops, which I like. read more

Nicks - Auto Repair - Oil change and tune up - Auto Repair Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I get all my general maintenance work done here. Definitely recommend coming here.

Nick is awesome! He'll make sure you get taken care of. No games, no BS, no mechanic tricks. Just an honest guy!

I live in west Jersey. It is worth the hour drive to go to Nicks. Most honest mechanics I've ever dealt with.

NYS Emissions Inspection. Good Experience. Was late for annual State Inspection. Took a day off from work, but found my preferred place apparently had closed down (with no warning). So started driving around. The next five random garages were either too busy or "out of stickers". After no luck on 86th St, turned onto 18th Ave. Never had stopped in any of the businesses along this strip - where could you park? - with the Fire Station, Auto Body shops, and bus stops, driveways, and double parked cars. Anyway, while creeping behind a slow bus, happened to notice the Inspection location sign, so stopped, triple parked, and rushed in. Asked if they do inspections, "sure". Any wait? "No, bring it in." They did a full, no-shortcuts, inspection. No wasting time. No bs. No "we saw a (nonexistent) problem while it was on the lift which we can fix for $$" - like 86th St/16th Ave Quick Lube inspection a couple of years back. They even placed the new sticker neatly. I'd consider them for actual service in future. read more

My car had humming noise coming from the front at 30mph or up. I suspected a bad wheel bearing, but some shop said it was transmission. Finally I brought it to Nick and had a front wheel bearing replaced here. No bullshit. Fair price and professional service! Highly recommend this shop if you have hard time finding one you trust in NYC. read more

Very professional mechanics and are willing to spend time to answer your questions/concerns about your car. They are very fair in pricing and will NOT overcharge. I totally feel comfortable leaving my car in their hands and trust that they will take care of it. I also noticed a lot of returning customers and I will definitely be one of them moving forward. Thank you for a job well done!!!!!! read more

I only recently moved to Brooklyn, and took my car to Nick's for a state inspection. I had registered my vehicle the day before but I did not put the plates on because I didn't have the screws to put the front plate on. My previous state of residence doesn't require a front plate. They did a thorough inspection, and put the plates on for me at no extra charge. They were quick, professional, and efficient. read more

Saturday AFTERNOON is a tough time to find a repair/inspection station open for new customers. My inspection was expired and i had been too sick to get out of bed to get my car done. My usual place was closed and i needed an inspection LAST WEEK. Had to get to the Dr and couldn't afford ANOTHER ticket. I looked on yelp n saw Nicks w 5 stars i knew it was late but tried anyway. I called n he said they were closed. He must have heard the urgency in my voice n asked what i needed, i told him and he asked how long it would take me to get there. I said 30min. He said come in ill stay open for you. He even said to take it easy don't speed, he'd wait. They were honest, and really decent. I asked him something i already knew the ans to n he told me the truth w/o trying to upsell me. This is my new go-to place n i thank them for their humanity in this sh!!!y world. An honest mechanic is a rare and a great thing to find. Ty also YELP. I found them cuz of you. read more

Great services, nice job. I've been coming here for years. They are truly honest and trustworthy. No hot sale, no persuasive approaches. You can just leave your car to them without any second thought. One downside is that they don't do body works, just mechanics. But they do minor repair if it just needs some touch up. Willing to talk with you about whatever you question about your car. Highly recommended. read more

These guys are quality. They do honest work and charge reasonable prices which is why I am a return customer. They will give you an evaluation and estimate prior to doing any work. Highly recommend. read more
