I attended an event for Cystic Fibrosis and what an event it was. Im not a person who drinks beer but this event allowed me the opportunity to explore and realize that hard seltzer flavors there are delicious. Pea flower Lemonade and the slushy Farmers Punch were good. Bartenders were very helpful he explained all of the flavors and the percentage of each drink. The place itself is spacious high ceilings and brewing is done right on site.I also brought home the Root Beer and Pina Colada. Needless to say I will revisit on one of those warm days that are coming.

I went for a Monmouth University event hosted by Icarus. The mezzanine is a great space and when busy I'm guessing they open the bar upstairs. There's a huge TV and bathrooms and lots of tables and chairs. You can see the huge vats where the beer is made. The downstairs has 2 HUGE garage doors which I'm sure is great for warm weather. There's lots of outdoor seating as well. If you're hungry don't worry because you just scan a QR code at your table and you can have Burger 25 delivered to your table with no fee. It's next door and the food goes well with beer & seltzer. Wednesday is trivia night and Saturday is music night. There's lots of beer options including a Birch beer which mirrors root beer. There's also seltzer. No cider but definitely other options. Come enjoy Icarus and their beautiful spaces!

Huge brewery! Beer was great and there was a variety of beers to choose from. The service was quick and the ambiance of the brewery was laid back. It was very crowded for a Wednesday night. They offer trivia and a couple other different nights.

This place is enormous, one of the biggest breweries in NJ I've ever been to. Between their inside and outside seating, they could probably accommodate several hundred people. Their taplist reflects their size. There were 30 total beverages listed, which included two seltzers, a seltzer slushy, and four NA drinks. The beer on offer truly runs the gamut of styles, from porters, to lagers, to barley wines to IPA's to three flipping different Russian imperial stouts. The variety in offerings is truly outstanding. And the quality is also seriously impressive. They don't do flights, but will pour two tasters at a time. Between my girlfriend and me, we tried several different beers while there for a few hours. We are big beer nerds and agreed everything was excellent. We visited on a Sunday afternoon of President's Day Weekend in February, and the place was packed. We got two seats at the bar, and for most of our time there, there wasn't an empty seat anywhere. There were a ton of dogs and little kids too which we don't mind because we love both. To their credit, Icarus has been trying to address the issue of kids in breweries. They have a roped off section towards the back that is only for 21+, and on Saturdays the entire place is 21+ starting at 4pm. I think it's a nice compromise. We drove over an hour to get here and enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend to other beer nerds in NJ!

Came to the brewery while we were in the area. It gets very busy so I suggest that you get there early. They have a lot of seating inside and outside, but it does fill up. It is a great spot for when it's nice out and you can enjoy the nice weather. They have lots of different drinks, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beers and not beers. There is no food, but there is a burger place next-door and they will deliver it right to your table.

We'd been wanting to come here for a while and it did not disappoint. So many great options. The space is great. Our beertender did an excellent job picking out the beers for me (it's nice getting a break from having to make decisions). Too bad it's not closer to home though. I'll def be back with friends though.

Beautiful place with great beers and hard seltzers. Indoors and outdoor seating. Excellent knowledgeable staff.

I recently stopped by this brewery on a Sunday afternoon. There was a large parking lot outside, so parking was not an issue. Upon entering, this place had great vibes. The inside was setup nicely. We ordered a few different beers to try, and sat at a table to enjoy them. I really enjoyed their IPAs. Since this is my favorite style of beer, I knew I was going to like them. Plus they have clever names too, lol. Drinking Crayones was probably my favorite of the batch. I also tried a lager and light ale, and everything was delicious here. Not a single bad beer. We had a blast hanging out here and drinking for a few hours. I even ordered a 4 pack of beers to go, so I can enjoy at home. Highly recommended!

Icarus 2.0 is in full swing and it is quite a step up from the old Icarus location. Inside there is plenty of widely spaced tables , a large bar, a loft area with additional tables. Outside there is outdoor seating and a garden. The back of the building houses the brewery, which also was upgraded in both size and equipment. What didn't change is the great beer Icarus is known for. Being one of the top 10 breweries in NJ, the upgrade is most welcomed. Although food isn't serve by the brewery, Burger 25 is conveniently located next door. Ordered was a full pour of Life in Helles, sample pours of Pineapple Hindenburg and DDH For the Story: Styrian Dragon. The Helles is a lager...light bodied, crisp, bready, biscuity. It went great with "The Smack" burger from Burger 25. Pineapple Hindenburg, a pale ale was tropical with hints of pineapple, mango and a touch of spice. "For the Story", an Imperial IPA was floral, fruity, juicy, citrusy and sweet. All were good! With the bigger location, opportunities for more unplanned visits are in store. Notes: * Parking lot * Large tap room with lots of tables and high tops. * Loft with additional tables * Outdoor seating * Outdoor garden * Cheat sheets on most tables, bar area to dial in your beverage choice * Hard seltzer available * Cold brew NA available

Food Truck Outside

Nice Craft Beers, friendly staff, but too bad no food service except for a food truck outside. This is Icarus Brewing in Lakewood, NJ. The place is located in an Industrial area with no views and nothing to see at all. We went here from Central Jersey because of the good reviews, but I'm sorry to say that the reviews didn't live up my expectations. Maybe this place is not just for me to hangout with. They offer a lot of craft beer selections, some of the good ones I've tried are the Life in Helles, A Walk Through Helles and the one that I like the most was the Track Suit Budget, it's an Italian Pilsen. Overall experience was just okay, but will not recommend this place to friends and definitely will not be coming back.

If you want to get a nice cook fresh beer it is a place to visit. The beers I tried were good and the staff is friendly. . The place is cozy and there is a food truck outside usually or you could bring your own food. .

This brewery was awesome, very big inside with an upstairs, outdoor seating with big garage doors that open up. There's tons of beers to pick from, and a burger 25 next door. I'd definitely be back

If you like beer with little or no taste this is the place for you. We have so many great microbreweries in NJ-this isn't one of them.

An incredible 17 beers on tap plus 4 seltzers and some incredible variety within that lineup. An Irish ale, a west coast IPA, a Belgian Dubbel, a Mexican lager... not to mention some really creative stuff you absolutely won't find anywhere else (and I've been to 60+ breweries in NJ) such as a strawberry cheesecake imperial cream ale, a black tea honey ale, a black currant sour, and the most insane beer I've ever seen on a brewery's menu: a tequila barrel aged, habanero infused 10% DIPA. My girlfriend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon in May. The guy working asked us if it was our first time, and welcomed us heartily when we said yes, which I think is a nice touch. He then asked us what our favorite types of beers are so as to make some suggestions from their extensive list. We each got a flight and then a full pour, and loved everything we tried. I think the true mark of a good brewery is when you are ready to leave, you want to buy some cans to bring home and enjoy later. We bought a mixed six pack, and look forward to tucking into them at some point this summer!

The beer here is simply outstanding. If you are scouring the Garden State for the best beer…read morepossible, you're in the right spot. But I'll get to that in a moment. The taproom is on another level as well. One might say it resembles a millennial hipster fever dream, but being a millennial myself I say it is incredibly well thought out and designed. Housed in a former manufacturing facility for a company that made military telecommunications equipment, there are so many different spaces all under one roof. A bar in the front room and a bar in the back room. A small 21+ lounge with couches in the front, and a giant 21+ "sports zone" with three giant TV's in the back. Three coolers for beer to go. A large merch area. High top tables. Regular tables. Immaculate bathrooms. This place has it all. My girlfriend and I came out on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed with families and their kids. There was a toddler in the small 21+ lounge and a baby in the sports zone, and only two people pouring beers so they were unable to notice and do anything about it. We don't mind kids in breweries but be advised if that isn't your thing. To the beer: according to their website, they specialize in hoppy beers. There were 13 beers on tap (with some being slight variations of each other). One lager, four stouts, and the rest IPAs. They don't do flights but will pour you two sample sizes at a time, and you'll need those sample sizes for most beers because the ABV will knock you off your feet. I love IPAs and I can easily say they knocked these out of the park. The standout to me was the Birdie Putt, which they didn't have available in cans to go, so we got a four pack of the Ground Rule Triple instead. Founder Jeff Baker spent years honing his brewing skills in his garage before opening the brewery in 2023, and his dedication and passion really show in all of the beers. We live over an hour away, but we will definitely make the pilgrimage back sometime soon.

If this brewery were in Hopewell, Troon wouldn't stand a chance…read more This place clearly specialises in hazy IPAs, and it shows in both quality and range. The tap list is smartly organised by style--pale ale, IPA, double IPA, triple IPA, and even quad IPA--making it easy to navigate whether you want something approachable or fully saturated. On my visit there were also a handful of non-IPA options, including three stouts and two lagers, one of which was a dark lager, so there's still something for everyone. The space itself sets it apart: a large, open taproom with ample seating, plus a second taproom ideal for hosting events. There's a strong to-go game as well, with two coolers packed with cans. In warmer months, the outdoor areas add even more room to spread out and linger. Clean, well-maintained bathrooms round things out. A destination brewery that takes hazy IPA seriously and backs it up with the space and execution to match.

Wild Air makes me think of your Gen X punk uncle, older but still happy bucking trends and sticking it to the man. Lovely corner building seven blocks from the beach. Spacious inside with booths, tables and a long bar, plus an old VW Bus of all things. Lots of open space where they host live music from bands you've never heard of unless you're entrenched in the local music scene. Looking at their set up and their Instagram almost makes it feel like a concert venue that also happens to make beer. Speaking of: there are 14 beers on tap plus one hard seltzer. Most places will go all in on IPAs and pale ales, while this place seems to be the opposite. They only offer two IPAs (a hazy and a double) while the rest of the taplist is made up of pilsners (Italian, west coast, New Zealand, etc.) and lagers (a smoked lager, a Japanese rice lager, etc.). A red ale, a fruited sour ale and a gose with lime round out the list. It's quite an impressive taplist, and everything we tried was good. We live pretty far away and were just visiting Asbury Park for the day, but we would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.
