I've been reading thier reviews and all but one of the reviews are from people with 20 or less reviews to thier name and most seem like they are from people who got impounded vs "I need a tow" that's going to skew the reviews to negative and who is going to be happy that they were stupid enough to park where you get towed. Back to my actual "tow needed" review. Brad called me back inside of 30 min and he was polite and upfront about the price and time frame. After struggling all day with towing companies that did not show up or could not due to a clearance issue, Ibsen came (via my CC's roadside assistance this time) and he fixed the issue and I didn't end up needing to get it towed. read more

This is the worst Towing company and are mainly focused on making money by using your desperate situation. I recently had an accident & this towing company offered to store for $45 per day. When I turned up to pick up my car - I was charged a hefty $320 bill. The person who picked up clearly did not inform me of the different fees they had added up. I already had an option of my insurance offering to tow the vehicle. Since it was $45 I agreed to use Ibsen's services. They appear to help you out in your desperate situations and charge the most insane of fees. Stay clear out of this place for heaven's sake. read more

Disappointed in this company. This is apparently the company that is supposed to tow away any unauthorized cars parked in our complex. So last night I come home at 10 pm to find a car parked in my reserved spot. I call Ibsen and was assured that the driver would call me once he was at my location. Waited up for couple of hours and no call. This morning when I call to follow up I get told that the driver tried to call and I did not pick up. Told the lady on the phone that I did not get a call from the driver and clearly the car wasn't towed away. I called this tow truck company because my vehicle broke down in the middle of the street and was blocking traffic. When the receptionist answered the phone the first time after explaining I needed a tow, she disconnected me. That could've been an honest mistake. Then I explained to her that I was blocking traffic and I needed a tow truck as soon as possible, she decided that this was the time to ask how I heard about them?! First off, let me start by saying this was the worst, and undoubtedly illegal, customer service experience and transaction I have ever witnessed personally. This happened 1/20/2017 between the hours of 8-9:30pm. This experience was also recorded on one of our mobile phones. My two friends and I walk into the building rudely described to us, to talk to this man, Scott. When asked about why the price for the release of my car was so high Scott retorted in a hostile manner and soon an argument ensued between my friend and Scott. My friend was calm asking questions while Scott shouted back about this being Bellevue and not Seattle and how Ibsen can charge whatever fees they like. He would not explain in any detail any of the fees, like the 12-hour storage fee, to us. We asked to see the breakdown of charges and he said no. We asked to see the bill that he was obviously holding in his hand and he said no. I thought this was a joke at first... but no. This man would not hand over the bill for a service he was expecting me to pay. My friend asked to see the bill for maybe the thirteenth time stating that, if there is nothing shady going on, we should be able to see the bill. Scott then changed his tune and gave my friend the reason of "You are not the owner of the vehicle so I am not showing you the bill", which is ridiculous because I (being the owner) had asked to see the bill as well and Scott told me no as well. I asked to see the bill again, after Scott made this statement of ownership, and I was again met with a harsh "NO!" from Scott. I then asked aloud to my friends "should I call the cops?"- my friend tried to deescalate the situation by stating that was not necessary. My friend continued to speak calmly to Scott, in a way that you would a child; very nice, and slow, because something was not right. By law a consumer has a right to see the clear break down of all individual fees and charges on any bill they are expected to pay, this is even stated in Washington state statutes specifically regarding towing services. This back and forth, asking to see the bill and Scott's refusal, went on for far too long. This illegal withholding of my bill never should have happened. In the end, Scott held up the bill to his chest and said this was "the closest you are going to get". If my friend or I reached for the bill Scott pulled it away.RIDICULOUS. I could not believe the antics this guy was pulling. We leaned forward over the counter as much as we could in order to view the bill closer... we eventually just said fine in order to retrieve my car and get this over with. My friend paid via credit card. Scott handed us the "receipt" only after we paid. I still feel sick to my stomach that I was played with like this and that we were put in this situation- forced to pay for something without being able to look over the fees on my own time to determine whether or not this was acceptable. This was extortion. In the end, it was my friend I was visiting that day paying the fee so I let him choose whether or not he was willing to pay this, for all we know random, and certainly overpriced total. My third friend was "fortunate" enough to catch at least half of this ordeal on camera through his mobile phone- this video will be included in my reports about this business as well as going on youtube. I will also demand to know what Ibsen will be doing to correct this matter, and whether or not something will be done to deal with how Scott treated us. This company is a part of TRAW. TRAW stands for TOWING & RECOVERY ASSOCIATION OF WASHINGTON. This is a group of towing companies who have chosen to join a committee and abide by its strict Code of Ethics. Here is an excerpt from a publishing made by this association and its board members: "What does this mean to our customers? It means that any Tow Operator with whom you work has voluntarily agreed to abide by a Code of Ethics, based on professionalism and protection of the public. Tow Operators are subject to an Ethics & Professionalism Committee review if concerns are raised regarding the duties imposed by the Code of Ethics. DUTIES TO THE PROFESSION Uphold the highest of standards, honor and a high degree of integrity." High degree of integrity? Based on my experience, Ibsen Towing certainly does not possess any of the ethical points brought forth by this Towing association. I remind anyone who has left a review concerning unethical behavior by this company to contact the board at TRAW, the BBB and, if needed, the police. As I went there to help my friend get her car back, we were informed by the driver; who was forced to come to the warehouse after a tow, that she would need to keep me( a woman of a dark skin) quiet if she wanted to get her car back. As I started to question him about the near 400$ fee to get her car back, he assured me that he wasn't doing business with me as I am not the owner of the car. The previous reviews are all extremely accurate. They don't treat you like customers since they know you are more or less at their mercies. While the employees we dealt with on the first day were friendly and helpful, the ones we dealt with on the second day (to pay & pick up the car) were rude and disdainful. We tried to use an IBSEN coupon we found on their website, which advertised "10% off towing & services fee." The employee laughed at it and walked away. When I called him back for an explanation, he gave us a lot of sarcasm and attitude. The coupon itself did not state clearly as to when it would or would not apply, so an explanation was certainly in order. Instead, I got more sass than explanation. i see a lot of horrible reviews, but they seem to come from people not quite understanding how tow companies work or what it actually costs to tow a car. i had a great experience with ibsen- my car broke down on the freeway, and AAA was unable to arrive for 3 hours- luckily the DOT roadside assistance had pulled behind me and i was able to have them call me a tow. ibsen came promptly on schedule (within 45 minutes), and even held the car for me overnight for no charge except the tow itself. the driver dropped me off at a starbucks nearby and unloaded my car as well as informed the desk of my situation. i was unable to be there in person the following day, and they worked with me to pay over the phone and to coordinate with AAA to have my car towed to the mechanical. yes, the tow was expensive and i am going to have AAA reimburse me, but an on the fly tow is expensive regaedless- especially for a car with certain needs (a bmw cannot be towed like some standard cars). the women i talked to (ashley and jaime i believe) were very kind, curteous, and helpful. they made a bad day more tolerable and i was able to resolve my situation. the driver was also very professional and well kept- something you rarely see from drivers, to be fair. just an added bonus- they kept my car safe and secure without me ever actually visiting the shop ans with no damage. i reccomend them for a professional tow - at least the members i had an interaction with. read more

These people are amazing!! Having my vehicle towed unexpectedly really was stressful. They explained every detail and worked with me to be able to retrieve my vehicle with as little trouble as possible. They were empathetic, kind and extremely helpful. They are a great group of people that gave me renewed faith in fellow human beings!! I called Ibsen towing at 620am dispatch told me a driver would call me back with an eta. He called at 630 with an hour and a half eta. So I waited..... 845 rolls by I called the driver and asked him where he was at... guess what? He said he forgot about me and would be there right away, that didn't happen. At 10am Ashley calls me and tells me that there was a night crew didn't communicate with day crew and it would be another hour and a half before a driver could be there... so I waited. At 12pm a driver from Mac towing shows up to tow me car. I guess they got Mac towing to do it instead. Driver from Mac towing was nice towed my car where it needed to go and help park it. If you want to wait 5 hours to get your car towed then Ibsen is the company for you. read more

They are rude, don't treat you as a customer (probably because their only real business comes from unfortunate customers who got their cars towed away, not the ones who are seeking to voluntarily move their cars from A to B.) ,charge absurdly high price on anything they could find, and numerous past reviews on the damaged cars from towing and their no-responsibility attitude are Very True. My truck stalled out on 7/7/2015 and wouldn't restart called Ibsen was quoted 75.00 for hook up as I was close and then 10.00 a mile when we got to destination the driver wrote up a extra 45.00 for dolly use never discussed so my bill was 231.00 I paid it reluctantly and somehow the check had a stop payment put on mistakenly by my institute (they are rectifying it) but Ibsen never contacted me with this issue first I became aware was when the collection dept sent it to me on 7/24/2015.which Ibsen sent it immediately to and doubled the amount now owing 462.75. When I contacted Ibsen there representative Diane proceeded tell me they wouldn't budge or bend even though I was willing to settle for 231+30.00 rejection fee instead telling me they didn't want to help and was very condescending and interruptive when I was trying to speak she ended it by hanging up on me, how truly professional of her.I have filled a complaint with the BBB and AAA I would suggest looking elsewhere for any towing needs. read more

Took over three hours and multiple phone calls to finally connect with someone who could give me a timeframe when I could get my car out of the Ibsen lot. First, the driver asked when I wanted to pick my car up. I told him a time, he rudely responds "That doesn't work for me". Then why the heck ask me. Tell me what window you are available, then ask me the question. I appreciate that this company has been in business since 1946, but I have to believe that customer service was flushed away when Mr. Ibsen sold the business to the current owner. Likewise, your description of my interaction with your employees is laced with fabrication & misrepresentation. There was absolutely nothing honorable or Christian about in the way YOUR driver bullied his way through our encounter. Nor was there anything remotely considerate or decent in the way the two of you went about trying to intimidate a woman or leaving her stranded in the rain. I've NEVER encountered a US service member who would dream of treating a woman (or a customer of his employer) so disrespectfully. Nor does one typically encounter service-for-hire providers so devoid of good judgment & common decency as to refuse to EVEN inquire into or confirm the details of a transaction before inflicting a hardship that was both expensive & time consuming to remedy. Our employee locked herself out of a company vehicle in Yarrow Point. I could not find a locksmith or other tow company to assist her, unless she wanted to wait up to 6 hours! I called Ibsen Towing, asking for a miracle, and "Diane" was able to assist immediately. She dispatched a truck immediately after asking a few questions, quoted me a fair price, and told me it would be a 20 minute arrival. I about fell out of my chair when she said 20 minutes! Sure enough, within 20 minutes, the driver arrived, unlocked our company vehicle, and our employee was on her way. This prompt response not only saved me further frustration in trying to locate someone to assist us, but also saved us revenue by getting our employee and vehicle back on the road. Ibsen Towing will definately be on our "first to call" if the need arises again. Diane even followed up the next day to assure I received the copy of invoice for my records!! read more

My wife's car was totaled in an accident. Nick, the tow truck driver, was late, but only because the police gave him the wrong area to come to. Otherwise, he was reassuring and personable, worked quickly, and explained the whole process. The latter was particularly helpful, as we had never had a wrecked car. Once we arrived at the tow yard, everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and kind. Never thought I'd give four stars to a tow yard, but these guys were great! while visiting our daughter two days out of hospital with our new grandchild my wifes car was towed from their apt complex. there are no posted towing signs the rental office said they do not tow because there are no assigned spaces [ first come first served].we contacted two other companies looking for the car Ruby"s and Clarke towing.they said they will not tow from private lots and we should call local police. that's how we found out Ibsen was called to tow the car from a disgrunteled tenant that wanted the spot. Ibsen wanted over 600$ to get it out of their lot. we must have dealt with the same rude female mentioned in other negative reports. my wife was well informed and asked a lot of questions when we arrived to pick up her car because said woman got upset and told another employee that he had to take care of us because she " had to step away from this". fortunately they gave us the paperwork so we can take them to small claims court. read more
