This is our third stay at this little gem of a hotel, and as our visit comes to an end, I'd like to recognize the incredible team that keeps bringing us back. Pedro and Hector at the bar made us feel genuinely welcome and kept us refreshed with their beautiful and delicious drink creations. Ana, Erika, Stephanie, and Miguel were always ready to help, whether making reservations, setting up our Bali beds, or ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. When I felt unwell, they took such thoughtful care of me and continued to check in to see if I needed anything. Vicente at the Star Prestige rooftop beach bar is an absolute star. His drinks were consistently delicious and refreshing, and we truly enjoyed spending time with him. At the Star Café, Tanya, Luna, and Elvia served consistently great lattes and greeted us with such warm hospitality each day. From the sales team, Jenny and Fernando always bring something fun and unexpected. Seeing them is always a delight. Marco from Star Friends is incredibly entertaining. We're admittedly lazy, so we didn't participate in many activities, but we loved watching them. We had massages every day and experienced several different therapists, all of whom were excellent. Across all the restaurants we encountered wonderful people, but Orlando at the French restaurant and Eusiquio at the taco bar by the beach stood out the most. Every morning, the first person we saw was Enrique, who ensured the Star Prestige rooftop looked perfect before guests arrived. He always welcomed us with a smile and helped us get settled. He was truly one of our favorite people. I'm sure I'm forgetting some names as I'm not the best with them, but please know the number one reason we keep returning is the team. The hiring department clearly knows what they're doing. To wrap up, the hotel grounds are beautiful, the beach is clean, and at this time of year the ocean was pleasantly warm. The food is delicious and we always found something satisfying. The rooms are lovely, we especially enjoyed our sunset view. The entertainment is also great, we caught a few shows and had a lot of fun. We can't wait to be back!

3.5 Stars | Enjoyed My Time, Caught my Attention, Improvement(s) could be made The entrance of the hotel is gorgeous, with an amazing grand entry! If you go anywhere in this hotel, it's the gorgeous bar in the back (absolutely stunning)! The west wing looks to be well renovated in most parts, while the east wing was near neighboring construction site (out of the hotels control) this is where I stayed. I would say the rooms are maintained, but could use some touch up's. I don't know if it was just me, but I wish that there were "do not disturb signs", as they do clean twice a day (once in the morning / another at lunch time). I got woken up twice on my trip, and felt bad for the workers as it's not their fault the hotel doesn't provide a sign (again - maybe I missed it, but I didn't have one in my room). The staff is friendly, but they could do a better job at communicating with one another. Upon arrival, we got sent to three different workers for check-in. Was super confused, and made the entrance loose its "grand" appeal, fast. What I will say (more to say below) the concierge at the front of the rooms / buildings - Phenomenal. Diana was absolutely Phenomenal! We loved Diana, she was so sweet anytime we walked by, and always checked in with us. Loved it! -- They seem to be making a lot of updates and upgrades during my stay - exciting to see! If they can match the front of the hotel, with the bar in the back - this hotel will quickly become an eye catching experience! Lots of good bones. -- I do want to provide a big thanks to Diana, who worked as the concierge to my wing (east wing)! She was absolutely amazing at giving us insights and details about what the resort offered, and how we could take advantage of our package. Diana made it possible for us to enjoy an amazing family dinner at the Steakhouse, which was previously described as fully booked (note: there was a large party - so assume the hotel had larger capacity). Having that in mind, make your reservations ahead of time for the restaurants located on Resort property - we had the opportunity to eat the "SteakHouse" and it was really good. Will say it was all thanks to Diana's help and support. Others had the opportunity to eat at the Japanese restaurant and they got a similar positive experience. -- Overall, the food at the buffets available felt a bit too repetitive while I was there. What's good is - it's a buffet! So if you don't like something, you can always try something else. Would recommend to try to get there near opening, the food was super yummmmmy fresh and kind of bleh later on (they do rotate a lot, so maybe wait a bit if you see food is finishing up). -- WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: BAR IN TNE BACK, + TACOS BY THE BEACH DOWNSTAIRS Those fish tacos, shrimp tostada, oh my god. Amazing! One guy running the show , but he did an amazing job with his prep and meal. That alone was 100% 5 Stars. I would go back to him. And the bar in the back was gorgeous as explained above. Absolutely breath taking views. What I will say is the drinks could be a little better. They have good tequila, but something about the liquor or sweetness doesn't hit the right spot. --- Anyway, yes! It was a good experience, felt like the price was fair, but I wish we got just a little bit more in order to give it 4 or 4.5 stars. Diana + Tacos - absolutely 5.0 Stars!

This is one of the only golf courses in the area so naturally if you want to golf you'll probably end up here. This course is very average, but golf is golf on vacation so beggers can't be choosers. If you want a high end experience then go pay a bunch of money and stay at the four seasons... you get what you pay for. This is an easy course with an easy layout. Most fairways are wide open and some are narrow, but not that narrow. The greens are large and extremely slow. If I was in the area I'd gladly play here again. -they have three different types of rental clubs -coffee house -paid caddies if you want -Rides to local hotels that are close -Driving range -Taco stands around the course -one hold with a water view -A couple holes where you can see the water

A great family-friendly place. The ONLY complaint I have is that while it is all-inclusive, you still must pay extra for any spa treatments and ocean activities (scuba gear, jetski etc). Also, when I spoke to the woman at the Dive Center she said the Kaiaks were only rented to "experts" which made me sad. However food, atmosphere, and open bar was great!! Additionally and most importantly the staff was AMAZING! All incredibly kind and attentive always! Explore the whole place it's huge! Also great daily activities although there isn't much variation day to day, it is still fun for a few days!

    Star Camp

What a great place to stay! The food was good, Star Camp was great for the kids, and the resort was beautiful. We stayed over the Christmas holiday. Santa even showed up as well as the Grinch! lol It felt like a home away from home with all the Christmas cheer. Sunsets were amazing and the pool area was always a fun place to be. It seemed like there was activities going on for everyone and you could always find something OR nothing to do. The ONLY reason this is a 4 star review instead of 5 is because there were no hot tubs for non-member guests. It would have been nice to relax in some hot water after a long day of fishing. Thank you for an enjoyable holiday.

Extremely disappointed and do not recommend this resort. We booked this trip on All Inclusive Outlets/ Travel Impressions, all advertising on all the websites said this resort was a 4.5-5 star hotel and when we got to the resort it was clearly not a luxury resort- it was a 2.5 star resort being generous with the scores. We have been to many all inclusive resorts in Mexico- Le Blanc, Hard Rock, Palace Resorts, Secrets and have never had concerns like this before. The resort it's self was falling apart, tiles were broken and cut my daughter's knee in the kids pool, crabs in our hotel room and bathrooms and also not very clean, our hotel room was 2 doors next to an open construction zone (could hear power drills, hammers, there was a ton of dust all between the hours of 8 am- 5 pm never stopping) they also had no barrier up to block off that area from guests and the dust which was everywhere it was an active construction zone. All the floors near the ocean view rooms have construction on every floor so moving rooms or trying to change anything while we were there wasn't an option, Will note the hotel staff offered to move us, however we paid for an ocean front view and every floor with an ocean view had the same construction situation and noise- They offered us spa as well, the spa had cat poop outside the spa, and was not in good conditions. What we wanted was what we paid for- a 4.5-5 star hotel and the dining options that was described on the website. We had to go out to other hotels daily for lunch meals and spent over $800 just on lunches additional to the cost of what we spent with Iberostar, to keep both our son safe from his food allergies and also to have some sort of variety to enjoy our vacation. The outside of resort facing the ocean looked super run down, chipping paint and online the photos it looks beautiful- it's probably photos from 10 plus years ago. False advertising, the dining options for every meal besides dinner is all buffet and even for dinner, all appetizers are buffet. So do not go if you are expecting a menu sit down meal. Piles of dirt left in hallways for days, dirty cups, cat or animal poop in hallways to stairs. We are used to paying a similar price for a resort like this and having options for lunch (besides buffet they had pre made hot dogs and hamburgers on a warmer outside wrapped in foil- how is that 4.5-5 star??) Not to mention we have a son with anaphylactic allergies so the way it as described online as having one buffet option and 4 restaurants we felt comfortable with as we were going to avoid buffet because of cross contamination- that was not an option as everything was buffet but dinner and even that there was an element of buffet. They were allowing tour buses filled with hundreds of guests to arrive daily so it's super filled, lines for breakfast so we had to wake up by 7 am unless we wanted to wait long lines to eat and higher risk of cross contamination for our son with food allergies. Do not recommend this resort!

I stayed at this all inclusive resort for 4 days 3 nights and I had an amazing time. Staff where extremely professional, attentive, and informative. They all assistances you with any questions or concern. The food was delicious breakfast was my favorite every morning. We ate at the Italian restaurant no reservations require. Breath taking experience!! The steak house was the second restaurant we try on our second day. It was delicious the truffle mash potatoes is a must as a side. Our 3rd night we had hibachi. Reservations is required so please book as soon as possible. Amazing experience and staff interacted with his guests while preparing food. Phenomenal. Overall I had an amazing time. Updated: A better experience/dinner on night 2. Tsuba Japanese restaurant was excellent and redeeming. The service there was amazing, the staff is attentive, the chef was very accommodating and fun, and they brought my husband a cool birthday cake, and tequila and sing to him. That was a nice touch! Overall beer selection is very limiting. Drinks are better. Food at El Cuate Pancho was disappointing. The nachos do not meet the description and the shrimp fajitas are not fajitas at all. El Nopal breakfast was ok but busy and not for me. Same with Bahía. It is a large buffet but they put onions on almost everything and that's a problem for me, so it limits my options. Planning to try Pacific Express this evening. It's a cool vibe and hopefully the food is good. Rooms: A bit outdated, no floor rugs (mandatory at a beach- we used towels by the bedside) hard pillows, the shampoo/conditioner/lotion dispensers don't work, no creamer in room for coffee (and if you go to the coffee shop, only a small cup is avail to carry to your room, so it's cold and half spilled, and don't ask for a bag to carry your muffin in because they don't have one) Also, we paid to upgrade Oceanside and the chairs on the balcony are extremely uncomfortable. Only one level has a hammock, but not ours. They signed us up for their presentation but we may not attend, I doubt we will stay here again? It spring break time (keep in mind) and it's good for kids and families. The activities circle around that mostly. Once you've walked the grounds, there's not much else to see but the reception and restaurant area is very nice and breezy. I went to suggest having checkers or chess to make it more interesting to hang out? The lobby bar is nice and the bartender does make a good drink. Our upgraded room was right underneath the rooftop where a wedding was going on till midnight with tons of screaming and laughing and loud music and stomping. So that was awesome. But night two was better and we were able to sleep with the door open and enjoy the waves. The rooftop lounges pretty nice for watching the sunset and having a nightcap and was more enjoyable when less crowded. So overall, it's OK and I upgraded my review but it's not exactly the place I was looking for. I was looking for more quiet and romantic and more exploring on the grounds but it's OK for families and spring break.

Service, customer service no one speaks English!! I have been to so many Iberostar resorts this is has been by far the most worst experience at this location!! No smoking at the pool ??? No buffet by the pool!!! We can't have blue tooth speakers by the pool??? So don't have a resort at all!!! If nothing is acceptable here Shut down your resort!!! I will never recommend this place to anyone!! And I'll make sure the word goes around!! #iberostar step up your game

I gave it a one star because it is the lowest I can give. There is no way in the world this place should be shown as a 3 star resort/hotel much less a 5 star. When we arrived we were told we could not make dinner reservations for the nights of our stay that we would have to make them the next morning. When I arrived to make the reservations the next morning I was told there were no reservations available but for one night of our stay. We had two rooms with walkout access beach front. We settled for one with walkout beach access and one on the third floor. We tried to eat at the buffet but the food was well below standard even for a cheap buffet. Thankfully we had snacks we brought with us to make it along. The air in our room was not working. As I walked into the room I slipped and fell on the floor which was slick due to the humidity. The bed was wet due to the humidity in the room we had to well. The temperature was nearly 80 in our room. Then they have me up on the ladder checking the air temps. I'm not an A/C guy for the record. But apparently this guy wasn't either. We had two rooms with a party of 5 and the price we paid to visit this poor excuse of a resort was not even worth half of what was paid. How do you not have enough reservations at any of the restaurants to accommodate the amount of guest you have at at least one of the restaurants. The elevator would rarely work so you would have to use stairs. The pools closed at 8 when it was still left with plenty of daylight left. We will NOT return to any Iberostar resort and will make sure to share our experience with all that we know that they not make the same mistake.

    Hibachi grill
    Lemar H.

This review is for the hibachi grill .. we came to eat with a family of 8 on a Thursday night .....let me say that so far this has been the highlight as far as food on this trip.. we arrived on monday, and will be here til Sunday .... The chef was exceptional in his performance with the twirling of eggs to the presentation as well as his attentiveness to all of the families he was cooking for ... food was perfect in taste and presented so well , not to mention portions , he served our main as well as a round of seconds for anyone who wanted more .... Was an awesome experience for all at the Table and I would highly recommend anyone who stays here to make your Reservation and eat at the hibachi grill .. And don't forget to tip the chef , he truly made the dinner rememberable

The property is beautifully maintained and everyday, we saw crews trimming the hedges just right, fixing one of their many water fountains, and raking the sand. Prior to our arrival I arranged transportation to/from the airport and the directions provided were very precise. Upon entering the gate for the resort, you are ensconced with the beautiful, lush greenery of the property. The property is huge as it shares the golf course with multiple resorts within the gates to include the Four Seasons. On your first trip to the property, it is a rather long drive as they want you to take in your surroundings, however, during your stay if you leave the property, they take a shorter exit. When we arrived, we were escorted to the veranda where we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica, who went over our reservation and explained the property. We were asked if we would like the NYT and USA Today daily and we chose the paper edition of both. We were excited to have a full printed newspaper that we could enjoy during breakfast. After about 20 minutes, we were shown to our room and within 10 minutes, Jaime, our assigned butler, arrived to go over their services as well as the room. We had a huge garden view room with a partial view of the ocean that included a private balcony as well as an outdoor shower that was lovely. Having a butler was very nice because you could text them for anything. I especially liked that each day, you could get 2 items pressed per person and they will also run you a bubble bath with salts which came in handy after a full day of excursions. The only complaint we had for the rooms was that the toilet lids did not soft close and instead, slammed down and also, they have the cheap Conair hair dryers, the ones that smell like it's going to catch fire if you use it for too long. I made the mistake of leaving behind my travel hair dryer and I implore you do not leave yours behind as you will regret it. The next day we awoke to discover that the "printed paper" left in our door handle, were just photocopies of each paper and not the whole paper either, so that was a bit disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, another disappointment was that the free breakfast was only for the buffet. Although they have a menu, it is not free if you order from it. That was shocking because one of our favorite resorts is the Waldorf in Cabo and our breakfast could be ordered from the menu and their food was gourmet and delicious! As we were headed to the pool, I did not see a beach bag in our closet and when we contacted the butler, we were told that they do not provide beach bags! But guess who does, The Waldorf in Cabo! I had several beach bags at home and left them because I assumed the St. Regis would have provided one. Seriously, for the amount of money you pay per night, that is the least they could do. They do have 3 pools on property and only 1 is for adults only which was nice. The chairs are on a first come basis, so each day, we stopped by before breakfast to claim our chairs as we did not want to get stuck with a chair without umbrellas. When you look at the menu, it states that they provide fresh, complimentary snacks daily and that was so far from the truth. Only one day, did they bring around skewers of fresh melon, which I cannot eat. The Four Seasons Wailea, brings their guests fresh snacks, ice cream and etc, about every hour while you are hanging out poolside. The only thing St. Regis provided were complimentary ice buckets filled with bottles of water which was needed and very much appreciated. During our stay, we stopped by the spa and had a wonderful couples massage from Diana and Taymi. Their usher Neidit was also very nice and helpful with the lockers. While we had a wonderful and relaxing stay, it would have been nice if they had a lounge area to hangout or something to do on property. They do have several bars you can enjoy and we did enjoy hanging out with the guys in the lobby bar. The entire staff and the drivers were top notch and very professional. Thank you Alejandro for trying to find Luna (the resort cat) for us!

It was pure relaxation and amazing vibes all around. The property is truly stunning from the rooms, to the restaurants, the pools, the beach (our favorite), and the spa (absolutely must book something at the Spa to experience it). The excursion we booked was great and very easy to coordinate as you can book through the hotel. Truly what made this trip so special though was staff. They were absolutely amazing and all so kind. From the front to desk to wait staff to spa to bellhops. A couple special shoutouts below and I hope whoever is reading this gets to meet them: Itza: AMAZING poolside service. We loved getting to know her and she was so kind to us and remembered our orders after the first day so we would come down to the pool or back from the beach and have our drinks waiting for us. Augustino: Incredibly friendly and anticipated everything we could need. He had waters waiting for us at our chairs, drink refills just as we finished our current drinks, great food recommendations, and even better conversations. Gabby: At venazu she was our waitress on our first night and she was so fun to talk to. We chatted with her throughout the rest of our stay and is so much fun! Marco: FANTASTIC bartender at the living room bar. Was so nice chatting with him and having him make some cocktails or trying new liquors we haven't had before. Leiti & Gustavo: Both were fantastic at the front desk from check-in to check-out. We stopped by a few times throughout our stay to check on things and they were always so kind and helpful. Estella & Josue: Both helped us coordinate transportation to and from the airport and also an excursion to the marietas islands (you MUST go). Josue was so detail oriented and very easy to work with and Estella was amazing too. We will definitely be coming back again and making it a yearly trip :)

3.5 star hotel at a 4 star price!…read more W Punta de Mita is a fine hotel, tucked about 45 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta on a no traffic day, and maybe 75 minutes if there is bad weather. Two pools, one for all ages and another solely for adults. I think there were really only 4 restaurants in the entire hotel site. Chevycheria, which is a beach ceviche spot. Spice Market, which was Vietnamese. Venazu, which admittedly I didn't visit. And Rubra, which has a $200.00 tasting menu. There's also the pool food, which was perfectly adequate. If you're more of a vacationer than a traveler, then I think you'll find your stay here more than enjoyable. It is a hassle trying to get an uber to get you to the airport or to puerto vallarta, but there are also 2 or 3 other hotels in the area, so there may be drivers around. Regarding my experience, I was slightly annoyed that I didn't get a Marriot Elite upgrade to my room (the hostess said since I booked with points, that was a no-go). In reading someone else's Yelp review, they mentioned they at least got free breakfasts, which annoys me even more now since I wasn't offered that. Cleaning was spotty, as the first day the room wasn't cleaned until 6:00pm or so. The next day the room wasn't even cleaned at all. Overall, not an incredibly huge fan.

The staff for accommodating and fabulous English skills for our waiter which was extremely helpful and we had a delicious fish dinner. They change the menu up in Oil every day he saying something different every day the menu is changed to keep everything fresh and unique and variety for the hotel guests and for droppings like us... Special touches included lovely candles on everybody's table, that our fabulous waiter turned on simultaneously with a hidden clicker, which was a nice touch... You definitely can't beat the view and it had a beautiful pool, and there was some thing about the inside tiny lobby and library and sitting areas that was quite charming and adorable and very very unique... The location is north of Punta. Mita and I have a car. He would be well advise to have a car rental rather than a taxi... For us, it was a romantic stroll along the warm sand beach to walk back to her place... One interesting thing was I noticed when I was getting loose on the first floor looking for the bathroom somebody had left their hotel room totally open which to me was shocking, I would never leave my hotel room door open to other guests and visitors for fear of theft, but evidently this place instills trust!

Gorgeous, Gracious, Delicious, Perfectly Maintained Beautiful "Casita" in the most gorgeous beach (literally a few steps from the waves) in the area-service second to none! This tops every relaxing trip I have ever had-even better than Bora Bora. With a maximum of 8 beautifully appointed and sparkling clean rooms (16 guests) you will be outnumbered by staff (but never see them unless you need something they appear like magic) and will enjoy the quiet all adult environment. Yes it is all ADULT with no children which please make note of! If you don't have children or need a break from yours it is magically quiet with the exception of margarita glasses toasting and waves crashing. Even though it is "small" it is like staying at a magic castle with every detail in place including the swim up bar, tequila bar, and many different types of pool seating and cabanas. There is a library with games and tons of reading material in case you need some entertainment while you are there. This is perfect place to do nothing or enjoy the areas fine fishing/zip-lining/horses/sight seeing/golf. Literally the beach door pours you out onto perfect sand a "clean" beach and the surf is right there! Bathrooms/showers right as you return to clean up is perfectly planned out. The drinks are primo and strong, wine top notch, 3 meals a day were different and absolutely delicious everyday, the mini bar/snacks are stocked in the room, Gonzalo the chef and his helper's cuisine were so amazing we ate out once and never went out again. Each meal will be served (unless you want otherwise) sitting on the deck over looking the ocean and gorgeous sunsets. Did I mention this is an all inclusive resort ? Yes all inclusive meaning no signing, wondering how much to budget each day, tipping, pushing servers, or any worries till the end when you pay your balance and generously (because they deserve it!!!) tip the staff to the owner/manager so no awkwardness. If you have ever been at another all inclusive or cruise you will know what I am talking about. The water is purified meaning we brushed our teeth, bathed, and ate every last delish vegetable (raw) and not one person in our party ever felt anything but perfect. The grounds are beautifully maintained-I think there is a person who just goes around perfectly trimming leaves everyday! They can arrange for on-site facial/massage or truly anything else you wish. They packed up a lunch/drinks/goodies for a day of fishing and were extremely accommodating. One of my favorite parts is the three perfectly maintained, groomed, behaved, delightful small pups they have on the property. Besides their sweetness you would not even know they were there unless you seek them out! Mark the owner is top notch and has mastered the art of the perfect place to vacation! I know I am going to miss someone (sorry we loved you all) but Robert, Mauricio, Francisco, Charlie, David, (another fabulous server in the afternoon/evening who knew my Rose Vino Preference), and all of the fabulous maintenance/cleaning/kitchen crew were like family-we miss you and can't wait to return!

He started looking at resorts and beach clubs that offered day passes during a busy time of year (Christmas holidays) and came up short. Until he was put in touch with Imanta Resort, that is. A few days later, we went, along with two other couples to spend the day at Imanta. It was quite the exclusive get-away, and just what we needed. We spent the morning on a nearby hike and then found our way to Imanta and needless to say, we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Jeremi, who took us in a golf cart from the reception area to the beach club. That's where we met Pete and his staff, who made us delectable drinks and eats to enjoy all afternoon long. We took turns getting pampered with some outdoor spa services and taking in one of the most scenic and beautiful beach spots in super comfortable day beds. At the end of the day, Fernando took us to reception and gave us a tour of the rooftop bar / restaurant. We were all disappointed to learn that we couldn't stay for dinner as they were full for the evening. Yes, it's pricey, but if you are in need of some quiet time at a top knotch, beautiful venue on the beach, and can make it work, I highly recommend a visit to Imanta!

To me there are two things that really make this hotel special- the fantastic owners and the amazing staff who are so hospitable and accommodating, and the tranquil environment. Once you come in off the street and head back to the bungalows. Also the grounds are meticulously cared for, the decor is fantastic and authentic Mexican, and the bungalows come equipped with mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave along with dishes, cups etc... Everyone goes above and beyond to make our stays relaxing and fun. The pool is great and usually very quiet. They also have Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas and beach towels that you can take to the beach which is a couple minute walk, so you don't have to bring any of this stuff or worry about renting it. If you're looking for a great experience give Hotel Vogue a try! They are simply the best!

Let's not forget about Pinata...the cutest and most affectionate hotel pup you WILL EVER MEET!!! She made us smile every day and we were so happy she was constantly wagging around and giving us love. We felt so incredibly safe at Hotel Vogue. We often even found that we were leaving our bags out on our open patio for long periods of time because Hotel Vogue is so safe. They had someone at the front door always and a private security gate PLUS a coded door at night so that you always felt very safe. The facilities in this hotel are BEAUTIFUL. Everything is very clean, comfortable, spacious and you feel like you are in a private oasis when you enter. It's right in the middle of town, but you don't feel like it once you enter Hotel Vogue. The amazing plants and wildlife makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable - they have made a beautiful space that is so authentic to the Mexican culture which is what we loved most. Even though the owners, Marv and Mary, are from Michigan, they have created the most authentic and beautiful space at Hotel Vogue. We cannot express how much we loved staying here for our honeymoon and NO DOUBT we will be back again! Thank you for everything Hotel Vogue!!

While we are not ones to seek luxury over experience, Avela made certain that on this trip neither had to be the choice. We were immediately greeted by the warm staff, given a tour and shown to our rooms. All questions were answered and we were left to enjoy the peace and quite the property offers just a seven-minute walk from the bustling town square. Immediately impressed with the chic room decor, the only reason we paused from admiring was that we sat on the bed and were surrounded in total comfort. The cloud-like bed, silence, and hum of the air conditioner drifted us to a post-travel little siesta. Feeling fully relaxed we headed out to the true gem of Avela, the pool area. The open design, while welcoming, feels truly like your own oasis. Comfortable chairs line the geographically gorgeous cool water refresher and a jacuzzi feature sits at either end. You can easily waste the day away in solitude or the friendly staff will prepare a delicious selection of fresh, light, cool food. The Tuna dish and guacamole are out of this world ..... and the 'chip' they use is something we can't stop talking about. Post pool day, dinner is served at any of the restaurants in town. From taco stands to high-end Italian or our MUST-DO first and last stop for pineapple & basil gelato; the quaint little town is always a fiesta and a quick and easy walk away. Overall Avela was perfect for us. Close enough to town that we could come and go at our leisure but just far enough out that it's liveliness wasn't a distraction late at night or early in the morning. Avela is also the perfect collaboration of Sayulita's art driven, surfer saturated, gypsy escape with the luxury and plush comfort of a larger resort while still keeping a very specialized approach. The third time was the charm for our visit to Sayulita as we now have a place we'll call 'home' whenever we visit.
