Searching for an affordable non-all inclusive hotel for a few nights, we found Hotel Mio in the Las Glorias area of Puerto Vallarta. Hotel Mio is owned by Groupo Posada that owns the nearby Fiesta Americana and Friendly Hotel; both of which are all inclusive. The check in was easy, and the employees were friendly. We stayed in a room with two double beds and view of the city and the ocean in the distance. Regarding the room, it was clean spacious, and had everything one would expect. Being only four years old, there were minor signs of wear. It located on the Main Street so depending on room location, one might consider earplugs. The hotel has two free rental bicycles and a fantastic rooftop pool that boasts sunset views. Nightly, there is a DJ present from 5pm to 8pm. There is also a bar at the rooftop as well as food service. Regarding the food service, we attempted to order one evening but the server said the kitchen was backed up, and it could take up to an hour to get some basic food. Thus, we sought a snack elsewhere. Regarding the location, it is above average. There are restaurants and a mall nearby that involves a 5 minute walk. In addition, it is a short drive to downtown. Beach access is allowed through the adjacent Friendly Hotel. Just remember to take a Mio pool towel as there are no rentals on the beach. Overall, the Mio was a clean affordable non all inclusive option in a decent location. Since is was not all inclusive, there was no guilt leaving the hotel to hangout, eat, and drink downtown. Following the few nights at the Mio, we moved onto the beachfront Fiesta Americana to solely hangout at the resort. read more

This was an excellent and very comfortable "Adult Only" hotel while we were visiting the Puerto Vallarta area this past weekend!!! Customer Service: 5 Location: 5 Parking: available if u rent car Cleanliness: 5 Reservations: 5 Comfort: 5 Breakfast: 5 This adult only hotel is situated just 15 minutes south of the PVR international Airport. We decided for our weekend trip to the PVR area that we would spend four nights at this hotel, reservation process was quick and easy. All the employees we're very friendly, helpful, and professional. Upon arrival of this hotel there was a parking garage for their guests. Once we finally got checked in and in our room,  we noticed that the staff was maintaining the facility at a very high standard of cleanliness. Lastly, the spouse and I truly enjoyed our visit with a very comfortable night of rest at a very affordable rate. We decided to pay the additional daily fee for use of their restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant is a buffet style and offers plenty of healthy options for everyone. For guests that didn't pay for breakfast, there is the option of paying from their menu as well. The front desk can provide assistance with money exchange as well as assistance in getting a local taxi. This hotel does not have any hotel shuttle to and from the PVR Airport. This hotel has an very suitable gym located on the 2nd floor, and we got our daily workout every morning. The 11th floor has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi for the guests to enjoy. Also on the 11th floor was a bar that offered refreshments and a small menu for lunch and dinner options. Great stay, I would use this location again! Tip: be careful of cab driver #288 was unprofessional, rude, and wouldn't turn on airconditioning once asked, and he tried to overcharge us on a ride. I have used this hotel frequently over the last three years. The operation of the hotel has declined in the last year. Although I requested a panoramic king room, upon arriving at the hotel I was given a room with two beds. Upon protesting and showing my direct reservation e-mail they would not accommodate me. The hotel was at low capacity. In addition I was given a room at the front of the hotel along the main road. Motorcycles, trucks, sirens and a perpetual squawking parrot kept us awake most of the night. Front desk service was not professional or accommodating. I asked for room cleaning at noon and upon our return it had not been done. On our last two stays there Pnuematic air chisels started loudly early in the morning. Nice adults only hotel in Puerto Vallarta near the main strip in the Romantic District. The rooms were only okay. Felt a little outdated, but not terrible. The rooftop pool area awesome. Plenty of cabanas, a big pool, and a nice hot tub. I was there on a Thursday afternoon/night and they had a DJ spinning music the entire time. It definitely set the the tone for a fun pool day party. Drinks at the upstairs bar were good and reasonably priced. They didn't have a lot of food up there, just a few snacks for your liquor belly but it hit the spot. They offer breakfast, but there isn't a full restaurant in the hotel. On Thursday and Friday nights, they had a small sushi menu available in the breakfast area, but I didn't try it out. Overall good hotel for the price. The exteriors and hallway spaces are nice and modern, staff was friendly, bar and pool were good, but the rooms could be updated. read more

All the staff were so nice, but I have to say Yessi, and Alicia at the pool, and Miguel the bell hop were my all time favorites. Miguel was welcoming from start to finish. We loved our trip. Hotel is a little bit away from the zona romantica but a quick taxi ride. Service is great and the frozen margaritas are delicious! Love the hotel itself. I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel and the area itself. The hotel is more basic than a holiday inn express. The rooftop pool is the only nice feature. However very limited spots if you don't hear early. It's extremely loud so it's hard to get some good sleep. There's no great restaurants in the area. Normally we stay in the romantic zone. But we for scammed in the free hotel for a time share. The whole experience was a scam. read more

We stayed here in Feb, 2025 and enjoyed it so we booked again this year for a month. We won't stay here again. The staff is wonderful. The pool is fantastic. We love the breakfast (which we paid for). The room is great (although a coffee maker would be nice). but the noise is simply unbearable. The decibel level on my phone is crazy high. I'm sad. Hotel Mio is a modern, well-kept hotel that while a bit more North of town, is still a short Uber ride away and provides great value. The rooftop pool is nice and there are cabanas that offer nice views of the ocean - there's a DJ at night as well. Service was helpful. Hotel Mio is situated in the perfect area and very close to restaurants and shopping malls, with the exception of having no beach access whatsoever. The overall property is clean, and gives you a smaller boutique hotel vibe. I found the staff to be friendly (especially the bellmen...who consistently greeted me with smiles on their faces). The room itself was nice, clean, and had excellent views of the ocean and city. While I found the room to be nice and cozy, the bed was a little harder than I would have liked but it did the job. Unfortunately, we had to keep calling down each night because housekeeping did not supply us with any wash cloths...I thought it was accidental until we had to call down a second time for the same exact thing. The pool area was nice, and wasn't that crowded during the day. It seemed more people came to the pool and enjoyed an evening swim. I must admit, the restrooms in the pool area was very nice...probably the nicest I've seen at any hotel. The food was mediocre and the breakfast was a complete fail. You'd be better off going to one of the nearby eateries to have breakfast/dinner. read more

Worst hotel ever 1. Water from the faucet is smell like sewage water. It did not get better even after running for a few minutes. We stop using it after a few try. Get your own bottle water ready if you do not want to get sick. The smell would permeate the room soon after. 2. Horrible restaurant food. Nothing to add. 3. You cannot deadbolt lock the room to protect yourselves at night. They broke it. Watch out ladies! 4. The chairs are full of fleas and the room has biting flies (very small flies that bite and sting like mosquitos) and fleas on the floor and hallway as well. 5. I'm sorry but Hotel Mio is giving resort without the resort price tag. I stayed three nights. Great service start to finish. Poolside is great though I wish the DJ hung around til closing. Drinks are good and affordable. Room service was pretty decent. Shower was amazing! Rooms so clean with filtered water on each floor (though mine kept running out). Complimentary coffee near the restaurant in the mornings. Walk to beach is like 5-7 minutes so not bad. Would definitely stay again. read more

My flight was canceled and this is where the airline put us up. There were literal busloads of people so the check in process was super slow. Come to find out the airline took their time getting our info over. Once they had it we were off to the races. Dinner and breakfast were provided to us. Standard buffet fare for a small Mexican hotel, tasty but nothing memorable. The grounds are really lovely. It's in a small footprint off the beach, but they make the most of it. The lobby is lovely with a see through elevator and nice seating area. You then walk back to the restaurant which is large with plenty of seating indoors as well as the outside patio. It's a pet friendly hotel too. They have a pool on the roof deck complete with a restaurant and bar. The pool is large and the view is lovely! The room was also large and nice with a fairly comfortable bed, large shower with separate toilet area, 2 sinks, unstocked mini fridge, full balcony. I couldn't figure out how to turn the balcony light off but they do have blackout curtains. read more

First time staying here and very happy. The hotel is clean and modern design. Very friendly, attentive staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. I selected to have breakfast included in my option and was pleased with the breakfast options; small buffet of pastries, fruit, cereal, juices as well as the hot bar which included hashbrowns, chilequilles and an egg/ omelettes made to order. The rooftop bar and pool didnt feel crowded, has a good variety of music/ entertainment several times each day. Nice views from the rooftop. Unfortunately, no beach access from this hotel, but i knew that when i booked. The food was surprisingly good including one of the best shrimp tacos Ive ever had. read more

4 1/2 stars on this one! I was actually pleasantly surprised regarding the room, especially for the room price I got! I got a Two Queen bedroom and it ended up featuring a nice balcony with a great view on the 4th floor. The rooms also have amazing showers (could fit 3 people!) with wonderful pressure. The beds are quite cozy and have lots of nice pillows. There are tons of USB plugs and outlets, and you will feel at home quickly. There is also a small fridge for your own cold items to store. The check in was a bit weird and non-social and didn't have my reservation at first, but was sorted out. I am not sure how strict they are with allowing guests and visitors. I was sad to leave so soon. Pool - The rooftop pool is nice indeed, however much more chic online/IG. In real life, it's relaxing and nice, but best to watch the sunset. Location - So-so. You can't walk to much other then the mall, the food container food truck pod, and a buffalo wing sports bar. Take that into account - a quick uber or taxi to most things would be needed. Deposit - Be careful when you book. I once booked a week with them directly online and it took a month to get my deposit back. read more

This charming little place is fantastic whatever your fancy is... it is nestled between a "US / Gringo beach" on the right side of its private beach or go completely (yet SAFE / FUN/ COOL) local & on the left ! Or just just namaste at fantastic Hotelito & you will likely catch a a great laugh or two with Nico & Josue by the pool. On your way to the relaxing jacuzzi you might catch a glimpse of the warm owners. They helped celebrate my birthday while I was there ... it was so so cool! I can't Thank Marcela enough... she's the estrella (star) of this place ... go to her if you need anything... she's magical! After the owners , I think she's the most powerful person there '-)) but so sweet! Also, we got unit 7 ... it's perfect... remember... it's an eco resort! The Roosters are part of nature... deal with it! And when you're a little higher you're protected from a lot of noises (natural or not). On a more MUCH more positive note ! The bed at Hotelito is one of the BEST (if not THE BEST) my husband & I ever slept in it was SOOO GOOD!!! The food is fantastic! Absolutely am loving our stay here! Stayed for a week at the Fiesta Americana next door and while that was good, Hotel MIO is great for an added night. Fantastic new sexy rooms with balcony, rooftop pool with DJ playing good music, great views and best of all an awesome value! There is a decent sized mini fridge in the room for all your cold ones you can pick up next door or at any nearby OXXO. also 2 complimentary bottles of water. Plenty of storage, fast wifi, awesome bed, plenty of work space with plugs for your electronics. The only caveat is that while the toilet is private, the sink and shower is only semi. So stay here with someone you're comfortable with. Aside from that it is pet friendly and also has beach access. Excellent location! read more

Room smells like sewer or mold. Hot water took over 20 mins to get in shower. Didn't get the room we reserved, got the room with sewer/ rotten smell. They said it was the last room. Too bad nothing we can do. Reception guy is rude and unhelpful. read more

The rooms are comfortable and the staff is nice but that's about as much as I liked. The rooftop is pretty but we weren't allowed to drink bc we booked the friendly hotel and they just moved us here bc they didn't have enough space. We were allowed to have breakfast in their restaurant (it was not good at all) but for drinks and food since we were paying for all inclusive we had to go to the hotel behind which was the one we originally booked. Basically if you come, stay at the friendly and not here. The friendly also has an area that's kid free so what this hotel offered us I didn't really care for. read more

Also the view is 360 degrees is amazing. We already booked for next year. My only two issues is 1. The Hot Tub needs a rail to get in and out of. This place is awesome. Most importantly the staff is amazing. Fabio and Casandra were amazing! HONEST AND CARING. My mom lost her purse, for nearly 2 hours. We weren't sure if you left it in the dining room area or in her room or maybe one of the common use restrooms. Regardless, I made one phone call to the hotel while we were away. I got to start with saying this place has the best service I've ever had in puerta Vallarta. Not only is it very clean it's like brand new . Everything is clean the roof top pool is amazing the breakfast included if you purchase that is amazing save some Money Forsure . Room service great , location is perfect & your safe . Don't pass up on a reasonable price hotel it's great for what you pay . It's not right next to the beach but it's 1 mile away . We were booked at an all inclusive a couple resorts down and decided to switch to the Mio due to reviews, and we are SO GLAD we did. We decided to do just the room, no food or drink included. You can pay by drink or when you want to eat, but I recommend pesos. The rooms are super clean, no carpet, and they mop your room daily. Showers are nice, but not recommended for a family as it's out in the room and all glass. The upgraded panoramic view room is worth the money if you plan to wake up to the sun rise over the mountains. Learn basic Spanish or use a translator app as some don't speak English. Convenient area for catching a taxi. The hot tub was not warm when we were here, but that's okay. Also, you can hear the cars outside when you are sleeping, but it's really not a big deal. Modern hotel. Great air conditioning. And great service. We stayed over NYE and they charge $150 per person to access the roof top on NYE. Heads-up read more
