Normally, not our choice in location when taking our quick getaways to Puerto Vallarta but decided to try something different this year. We made our trip back in April and then again in August 2025 So, the decision was to find a place where we didn't have to uber around to get to our favorite bar spots but to be able to make quick walks from our hotel during the day and at night. The highlight of our decision in staying at Los Arcos Suites was due to location, price and unit amenities. We were practically less than a mile away from everything we liked: romantica zone, shopping areas and the malecon. It was perfect. Los Arcos Suites is hidden down a small street, an actual dead end street where both hole-in-the wall like sibling hotels that are across from one another (Dona Casa Susana and Los Arcos Suites). One would never know from the outside looking in, that Los Arcos Suites is quaint, with a calming and peaceful ambience. Throughout the place (lobby, hallways, walls and inside units), one will notice religious images such as, Guadalupe, Virgin Mary, and a Cross; nothing over the top. It might be safe to say that the owner of Los Arcos is of Catholic background or, just loves to adorn its hotels with religious decor. Our unit was nice, had a kitchenette fully equipped, a balcony looking over on the street side and the best working air conditioner ever. You can . My only issue is that that water was not warm enough in the evening time. We had maintenance check on this issue, but I don't believe any improvements have been made as my friend's room remained the same. Playa Los Arcos, I call the older sibling of Los Arcos family, sits on the beach side. Like its siblings, it too is hidden, however, with much more better visibility to the public. The street itself is busy but crossing these small streets around town is safe. Same decor concept that of Los Arcos suites and Casa Susana, but larger hotel and pool size. I can't tell you enough how good their restaurant's food was - it was tops. Their buffet, across the board, covers all kinds of dishes, a nice assortment that everyone would like an all-inclusive. The restaurant's decorative and food presentation was on point. We were not only surprised to be offered such a nice treat as the buffer during our stay at Los Arcos but impressed with its other outside amenities. Staffing....all desk staff, servers, bartenders, and cooks were friendly and hospitable. And, in most cases, the servers we've had were friendly and attentive. My traveling group and I plan to return again. If not this year, hoping early of year 2026. Hotel has a nice beach area where they provide chairs and umbrellas. However you have to get there 30 min before they even start putting out the chairs because people reserve "thier spots" with towels, etc. Then they don't how up till after noon to use them. The guests are very entitled and rude about the beach spots and staff does nothing to discourage it. Made for a very unpleasant stay. The front desk states there are no beach reservations but they do nothing to enforce that and the guests stake out big areas of the available beach. read more

I bought a package through Expedia. All Inclusive. This place doesn't have a restaurant, bar or activities. We had to walk one block the street to get our food and drinks. We couldn't use the pool at Los Arcos same place where the food and drinks were available because it was for the hotel guest. Dona Casa Susana was across the street, we could use the facility for drinks and the pool. The pool was only 4 feet deep. Noice was totally prohibited. I'm totally dissatisfied with this All inclusive deal!! I will Never recommend this place !!! read more

We love the Los Arcos owned hotels in Puerto Vallarta because they are in the center of a lot of action in Zona Romantica, clean, with very helpful and friendly staff. But the biggest reason is that if you are staying at the Los Arcos, Los Arcos Suites, or Doña Susana by Los Arcos, you can use the amenities at ALL THREE properties. This includes three pools, several hot tubs, kid friendly pools, spa services, the rooftop bar at Doña Suzanna, and if course all of their restaurants at each property. On top of this, you can get complimentary breakfast and as an upgrade, you can get all of your meals covered with the all inclusive package among other perks. This is by far the best hotel experience available in Puerto Vallarta. There is no comparison. read more

We recently stayed 5 nights here. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful! This is definitely a no-frills hotel the standard room and bathroom was extremely small!! However they were clean and well air conditioned and served the purpose! The location is awesome!! With tons of restaurants and shopping and endless sites to see on the boardwalk! The only good thing about this place is the location. Stayed here for 8 days. - wasn't LGBTQ friendly - 90% of the time there was no front desk receptionist at all. - our friend who was staying nearby tried to come over briefly and they wanted.to charge us 500 pesos for them to go to our room for 10 minutes. - never answered the phone - room was dirty - took over 6 hours for our room to be cleaned and we had to ask every day. - we continously we're locked out of our room because the key didn't work. Highly recommend this hotel. The pool is beautiful and you get access to the other two los Arcos hotels. One is across the street and the other is a minute walk down the road at the beach. Stolen credit card, loud, old, moldy, small, poor quality, poor service -- not worth your hard earned money. Check-In When checking in, we were told the room we booked three months prior wasn't available. We were told that we could stay in a smaller room, but we'd have to move the next day, and still have to pay full price. The next day, we were told that our second room wasn't available yet, and we'd have to leave all of our valuables with the front desk. Given we had electronics, passports, etc, we complained for 30m until they finally gave us another room. After getting back from an outing and getting a chance to check-out our new (also horrible) room, we said forget it, checked out, and went down the road to another (vastly better) hotel for the same price. Quality The online pictures make this place look updated and modern -- it's far from it. You hear everything. The staff yelling at each other in the morning, the construction, the loud air conditioning units, everything. Your air conditioning has three settings: 1) super cold, 2) super stupid cold, and 3) "hell froze over" cold. The pool was the smallest in all of PV hotels (no sarcasm); I never saw anyone use it in over 36-hours. The "numerous cable channels" are all fuzzy. Bed was hard as a rock uncomfortable. You could visibly see mold in every room and crevice Food We ate here once, for breakfast -- fool me once, not twice. The breakfast buffet was sparse. The coffee was burnt. My omelet had egg shells, the center was runny and completely uncooked. The fruit was low quality, all of it sour -- and I had some fantastic fruit at other places. The pastries were so hard that my wife and I were playing frisbee at the table with one of them. FYI. They charge $10 (200 pesos) a person for this. For that, you can get 5x better at any of the local establishments. Thiefs My wife used her credit card ONCE while we were in Mexico... at Los Arcos Suites. Los Arcos Suites is a small, all-suites (junior & one-bedroom - 43 suites in total), boutique-style hotel. It is one of two sister-properties to Hotel Playa Los Arcos (Casa Dona Susana being the other property, and located directly across the street from the Suites). Guests staying at 'any one' of these properties, are entitled to use and enjoy the common area facilities and amenities at all three properties -- a great feature, which we have always used, and really enjoyed!! We have always stayed in a junior suite - they are basically similar to a 'studio apartment', consisting of one large room, with a small kitchenette (equipped with a 2-burner stove-top, small fridge, large coffee-maker, toaster, some counter-space, dining table & four chairs), king-size bed (with thick and comfortable mattress), 6-drawer bureau, tv, some "living room" space (with two sofas, which can double as beds, and coffee-table/chest), decent (on the roof type) A/C, electronic safe (for one's 'small' valuables - papers, tickets, passport, money, but big enough for a notebook, large tablet, and etc.), and a balcony (with patio table and chairs). There are five one-bedroom and five junior suites on each of the four floors of the hotel. The one bedroom units are all located on the front (street) side of the hotel. Two junior suites are also on this side, the remaining three units are inside, facing the inner courtyard and pool of the hotel. We have stayed in suites on both sides of the hotel, but mostly in suites on the street (front) side of the hotel, it has always been our most-preferred location. The balconies of the street-side rooms have decent views, the higher the better, straight ahead to Casa Dona Susana, parts of the city, and side views to the Bay and surrounding hills. For most of our daytime relaxing, sunning, and pool "times" during stays (which have always been of 3-5 weeks per stay, usually a month in length), we like to use the wonderful rooftop pool and area over at Casa Dona Susana - the small courtyard there has a nice sunny pool, and the courtyard itself, offers great views of the city, sea, and adjacent hills. Plus, it's an adults-only property. The pool at the Suites is also nice, and bigger and deeper than the one over at Casa Susana, and it, and the surrounding lounge area get plenty of sun during the day - it just does not have the views we have always so enjoyed across the street. But it is usually fairly quiet and peaceful, especially in contrast to the much more active, and often rather noisy conditions which can be encountered at times, at the pools over at Playa Los Arcos (the main hotel). We prefer the conditions here, and often share mid-late-afternoons with fellow guests (several of whom we have known over the years of staying here). The suites themselves are getting quite 'dated' though, and the furnishings definitely showing their age, but we have always found the property to be clean and tidy. And the staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has offered what we have wanted for a good number of stays over the past several years, and it's location where we have wanted to be - so close and handy to most "everything" in the city's south side and downtown areas. read more

My wife and I have been visiting Vallarta for over 10 years. Besides the great weather, friendly people, and great tequila and food, we love that it's an inexpensive place to take a vacation. I can never figure out why people go to Hawaii time and time again, when Mexico is less crowded and less of a pain to your bank account. That being said, when looking for a hotel, we look for the best location for a reasonable price. We are not fans of big resorts, and we're definitely not fans of all-inclusive packages. We have tried a variety of hotels throughout the years. This is definitely the best area to stay in - you're close to the beach, and right in the action as far as restaurants and events, and a short walk to the Malecon. As the name implies, this hotel is comprised of all suites. We stayed in a suite right off the pool. You walk in to a small sitting area, a king-sized bed, and a small kitchenette. Tiled floors are the norm in Mexico, and this hotel is no exception. We always think we're going to use the kitchenette more than we actually do - but it is nice to have the fridge. We usually take the bus to Soriana or Mega our first day in town to buy some tequila, meats and cheeses for quick in-room snacks. As with most hotels in Mexico, the furniture is old and minimal/standard. Not terrible, but nothing special. Nice big TV with access to channels broadcast in English and Spanish, and the EVER IMPORTANT air conditioner! We never stay anywhere without that. Yes, it's great to soak in the sun and heat, but it's also nice to take a break from it every now and then. Housekeeping service is efficient and consistent. Front desk staff are equipped with knowledge about the entire city - restaurants, events, bus schedules, etc. Los Arcos Suites is connected to Casa Dona Susana (across the alleyway) and Playa Los Arcos (across the street). Playa Los Arcos is on the beach, and guests of all three hotels have acccess to stacks of blue beach loungers and the towel station. There is waiter service on the beach if you're in the mood for a drink or something to eat. The food is marginal, but there are also plenty of beach vendors coming by with shrimp, oysters, fresh fruit, and other Mexican treats. Free Wi-Fi in all three hotels. read more

I got married at Los Arcos. Planned for a year and half with the wedding planner and when we arrived nothing went to plan. They broke contracts and promises for our wedding . We were supposed to get the honeymoon suite because we had so many guest staying at the hotel. They broke that contract. My guest made reservations over 6 months in advance and when they got of the plane and to the hotel they had no rooms some had no reservations. The guest that did have rooms were put by loud construction and the hotel refused to move their room or stop the banging construction. We were supposed to stay two weeks but me and all my guest ended up staying 4 days. The water was shut off for 2 of those days . They also made me pay with pay pal at a much higher exchange rate then normal. They refused to take a credit card for the down payment. They wanted to rip me off. What hotel doesn't take a credit card ? This hotel was also rude to my gay guests . This is not a gay friendly hotel . The wedding planner told me there was so many problems because of new owners of the hotel. I will never stay here again. read more

This hotel is very dated. It's a basic stay, no frills kind of place. The rooms are adequate. The bathrooms are tiny. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The staff is unpleasant and unhelpful. They forgot to retain a copy of my payment receipt, so I was obligated to provide them a copy. Thankfully I had saved that tiny piece of paper. You can definitely find better places to stay in the same general area at the same price or not much higher. I wouldn't stay here again, and I can't recommend it. read more

I came to this hotel to have breakfast at their restaurant. Ended up very sick vomiting eating the "bacon" scrambled eggs, and potatoes. The waitstaff was very good. However I ordered bacon with my breakfast and they brought out something that resembled chicharrones, and the waiter admitted the kitchen wasn't fully prepared today. After breakfast my boyfriend and I went to use the bathroom. The security came over and stopped us accusing us of trying to sneak into their pool. (Tip- people don't usually sneak into pools and go swimming with jeans and a T-shirt). Security continued to hold us and accuse us of not being customers. I presented my receipt then they went off talking and said that they would be following us to the bathroom. We had spent money and been there for over an hour and at one point I thought they were holding us and arresting us. We just wanted to pee after our meal! Access to the pool at the hotel as well as the (nicer) pool and beach at the beachfront hotel. Wifi is shaky, but free. Kitchenette (and furnishings) were on the funky side, but functional. Don't look for friendly service, front desk obviously over tourists.. Hope to get a room that isn't grossly musty and likely to get you sick. Food at the beach restaurant way below average and service on the beach laughable one poor server running to accommodate, 200 people. This hotel is poorly managed. The upside the reason for the second star housekeeping is very sweet and efficient beds comfy and great linens crisp and fresh perfect to place over your mouth and nose to get over the smell. I used the spa at Los Arcos for a massage and it is ( in my opinion ), the best place to get a massage in town. The prices are outstanding and the massage therapists really know their stuff. The massage was so thorough and worth every penny. I will go back to this spa over and over again. read more
