It was the perfect location to meet our needs of a large family gathering that was easy to get to and close to local towns where we could explore. There are so many things that we loved about this property and we can't wait to get back again! There's a little something for everyone from games, hammocks, to cooking in the wonderful and authentic cocina. The view, wow and then we were fortunate to have a full moon during our stay which just added to the beauty and lights at night. The spaciousness of the home, accommodations to meet our large group needs and openness would be hard to meet anywhere else. The kids of course loved the pool, we couldn't get them out! As far as the staff we saw the property manager on our first day, he walked through everything with my husband and was readily available when we arrived to show us up to the place. He responded quickly if anything arose during our stay. The cleaning staff was really great. Above and beyond tending to cleaning and tidying up for us. Everyone was super friendly and we felt safe and secure on the property. I wish we would have been able to experience the chef services but we chose to do our own cooking as most of our family is local to Mexico and are some of the most amazing cooks! But I am certain any chef services would have been great as when we arrived we were greeted with some tasty Guacamole and Pico de gallo. Since our stay was pretty short and we were more focused on family time we didn't partake in any of the available adventures but hopefully will do that next time. We explored Lo de Marcos (closest to the property, small, the beach is fun), San Pancho (my favorite of all the towns, cool hippy town like Saylulita but close and fun), Guayabitos and La Penita (we like the restaurants and shopping here). two of which my husband and I have been to several times. We enjoyed the diverse and differences of each town. We felt safe and relaxed on our stay and hope to return again. Working with the home owner prior, during and after our stay was wonderful and professional. The house is beautiful and we look forward to returning soon. Tip- Get your groceries at one of the big super markets in Nuevo Vallarta on your way to the Property. There are some small markets in a few of the towns near but it's best to shop on your way.

Villa Boda met all our needs. There was plenty of space for everyone, the place is just beautiful,…read morethe kitchen had just about everything we could need to prepare meals or snacks. The daily cleaning staff and the property manager were absolutely the best. The villa is perched up on a hill about 10 minutes from the beach. You can see the ocean from the villa. Villa Boda is easy to get to from the airport. And there are several big supermarkets along the way to shop for groceries. We've been to Puerto Vallarta several times but this time we wanted to venture North, away from all the tourists and we're glad we did. The beaches are either empty or just a few people, locals on holiday and a few tourists. There were plenty of fun activities to do in the area. We rented a high clearance car from Hertz and it was very easy to get around (some of the smaller towns have dirt roads). We are considering coming back with both our entire families for a family reunion. In addition to Villa Boda there are currently two other villas for rent.

The staff is exceptional (special thanks to Oscar, Juan, Arturo, and Lola), and their warmth elevates the entire experience. The openness and sheer scale of the villa create a feeling of freedom--you're together, but never on top of one another. Dining is a highlight all on its own, with incredible food and presentation at every meal. And having not one but two beaches just steps away is the kind of luxury that spoils you for anywhere else. Villa Estrella Mar is unforgettable. If you're considering it, go. It's even better than you're imagining.

There is a term in real estate that is used when the description of a piece of property exaggerates…read morethe reality of that property. The term is "puffery" and it applies to this rental in La Penita. I arranged to rent the 2 bedroom casita for the month of February 2016. I arrived on Sunday, February 7 at about 5:00pm. The owner met me at the gate and showed me my quarters. The first thing I noticed on arriving was how rundown and dirty the surrounding neighborhood was. I have visited LaPenita before and the areas I have frequented showed a village atmosphere with a certain pride of ownership, however humble the abode. This area was definitely on the wrong side of town. Even my ride from Puerto Vallarta asked me if I was sure of the address. The second thing I noticed were the parked wrecked cars with nothing working except the radios....all at full volume. Thirdly, and most disconcerting was the smell of dog feces and urine in the courtyard of the rental from the owner's two dogs. The casita itself was adequate with the exception of the bathroom which was small and dirty. The shower had walls covered with black mold and mildew. There were black bugs crawling in and out of the shower drain and along the floors. The courtyard was thick with mosquitos and the screens of the rental were in such poor repair that I couldn't keep the mosquitos out. This property is across from a school playground. The owner never mentioned that. It was very noisy. The owner says her house is 100 steps from the beach. It is at least the equivalent of four blocks. From her house you will not hear the ocean, you will not see the sunrise or sunset and you won't feel any cooling ocean breeze in the cramped courtyard quarters. I was very displeased and disappointed with the inaccurate description the owner provided and I told her so. She was offended and Monday February 8th she evicted me. She wrote me a check for two-thirds of the rental amount which she subsequently stopped payment on. BEWARE!! THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE BUSINESS OWNER. Take your hard earned vacation dollars and spend them elsewhere.
