Magnificent Villa in Puerta Vallarta is outstanding. Panoramic views from the rooms overlooking lush green tropical surroundings. This staff treated us like royalty and the Villa has an infinity pool overlooking the ocean that is at a perfect temperature. Large game room with pool table, card table etc and complete kitchen. Parking and great air conditioned rooms. Extremely clean with filtered water through out. Highly recommend

The workers that couldn't go home were housed. The guests, like me, that were checking out were allowed to book another night, even though they were in a sold out status. The hotel mgmt took care of all of us in such a beautifully kind manner which allowed us to find some safety while the town was burning due to the car fires. The property is right on beach, has a family pool and adult swim area with hot tubs in both areas. We booked a hotel room that had a small pool access from the patio. They have 2 swim up bars, a children's play area, spa and an excellent workout room. I was told they will be renovating the hotel this summer 2026, which is needed in some areas, such as the spa. It was a very enjoyable visit other than the cartel action and I would stay here again if I come back to Puerto Vallarta.

Food: Several excellent restaurants but Buffett pricey, instead a 15 min walk to marina area for much more reasonable food. Great ice cream in lobby, opened til 11:00 pm too ! Gift shop needs expansion. It could be a money maker if it had more products to sell. Bummer. Water was pricey! 5$ for a bottle. Room: beautiful and get an ocean view. The sound of the ocean at night is awesome! Pillows were Devine.

The reservation was made but was now nearly $2000 pesos more. When I asked what the discrepancy was, I was told I had ordered off a different menu. They had only emailed me one menu, so I'm not sure what they were talking about. That appointment was canceled due to their shady practices. The check-in process has been beaten to death by others, but seriously, just let people check in.  No fake "hosts" or "welcome drinks" that are all timeshare salespeople who try to pressure you. We finally got free of that BS only to get to our room with a view of some gravel and the top of another building ("views are for owners").  It has limited air conditioning and the room is very musty/humid. It has a weird smell, no salt and pepper (even though we've asked 3 times), no paper towels or napkins, decaf coffee only, no sugar, creamer or anything. It has a broken "Privacy Please" door hanger.  The other adjoining room had no "Privacy Please" hanger. We asked the housekeeping staff and the front desk, but no one brought one. We asked a third time, and finally it was delivered. The ceiling fans all make noise the whole time they are on, which is always since they limit the air conditioning temperature. The wooden slats on the way to the master bathroom are loose and a danger to people walking. The shower has no warm or hot water. Fun! It's noisy with the people above us scraping their chairs over the tile floor starting at 5 am.  Rude. Also, it would take a few hundred dollars to put some felt on the legs of the chairs to help with the noise. The TV won't change channels. We have asked for 3 days for any conditioner, salt and pepper and lotion, but have received none.  The counters in the bathrooms are all burned from other people's curling or flat irons. The bathroom phone has fallen off the wall twice. Why is there a garbage phone in the bathroom anyway? Gross. We can't sleep due to the loud music at Santuario.  Housekeeping staff keeps coming in even when we have the "do not disturb" sign on.   When we actually do want housekeeping, and removed the sign- we've asked them (as well as the front desk) for salt and pepper,  conditioner, lotion, paper towels or napkins.  We get nothing. Housekeeping takes our money and our written notes but still does not bring us anything.   The windows and glass half walls on the decks are filthy.  The dowel for the living room curtains is broken and is not even connected to the curtain.  I am very sad to write this review. We had the best time here before. I also feel bad that we brought our best friends who needed a beautiful, relaxing vacation and did not get one.

I made a seven-day reservation, but later I was offered an upgrade to a two-room suite so our son could have his own space. Because of the new reservation, we had to change our flight and extend the trip to eight days. I've never written a review before, but this experience was so bad that I feel I should share it. Our stay at Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta was not only a waste of money, but also very frustrating because of how we were treated. When we checked in, the room was very disappointing -- nothing like what we requested. It faced a patio and a busy walkway, so it was constantly noisy. It did not face the ocean and was not on a top floor as we had asked. The room was old, outdated, and had an unpleasant smell. As soon as we saw the room, I went back to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. I spent more than two hours trying to get the room changed. We even offered to pay extra, but we were told there were no rooms available anywhere. Nothing was done to help us. The staff were very pushy and often rude, especially when trying to sell us a timeshare. Customer service overall was a waste of time and not helpful. Housekeeping was also poor. The room was not cleaned properly and the sheets were not changed regularly. After a couple of days, we noticed the sheets, shower, and floors had not been cleaned, and I had to call the front desk at night just to get the sheets changed. The floors were rarely cleaned unless we specifically asked. We also had a serious insect problem. We were bitten repeatedly at night while in bed. We called the front desk and they fumigated the room and told us not to open the windows. My husband and I kept getting bites, and staff told us to go to a pharmacy to buy medication, which did not help. Our son had no bites. Once we returned home, the biting completely stopped. After researching, I believe it was bed bugs, and I reported this to the manager. Another inconvenience is that this hotel has no restaurants or pool of its own -- you must walk outside to other areas of the resort. You are not allowed to use every pool in the resort, which was very disappointing. There is a grocery store in the plaza, but the prices are extremely high. The food at the resort restaurants is also overpriced for the quality and portions offered. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend staying there.

Rep in reservations told me the room I got via RCI was the one the owner deposited. Not true. It does not match the description on my reservation. She then told me to talk with the team in the lobby trying to get you to attend their timeshare presentation. Positives: Well maintained property. Beautiful pools. 10-15 minute walk to Malecon. City bus stop out front. (Malecon, Romantic Zone, Airport, Walmart, Sam's Club) 10 minute walk to large supermarket. Negatives: One side of building faces empty lot with transients and loud roosters. You do have an ocean view though. Rooms are nice but could use some updating. There are signs stating unattended items left for 30 minutes will be removed. People hog pool and beach seats for hours with no items being removed. By 8am all seats are spoken for with towels and personal items. Beach has sea urchin warning. Sand is rocky and ocean has large rocks in it. It does not look enjoyable and certainly is not for small kids. This timeshare is on the same property as the neighboring Sheraton. You guessed it. Sheraton resort prices too. For the US the prices are not outrageous but for Mexico they are high.

The keys didn't work and when called they told us front desk is to busy you have to come down and hung up on me! Then our sofa sleeper was broken and the manager Jose Cordova basically said I needed to go see the new rooms and he was basically a rude guy and told me he would do nothing for my inconvenience and told me to contact my RCI. We resolved our problem by switching rooms becasue my parents didn't need a sofa sleeper and I told the front desk to not send up maintenance to fix it because my dad was going to take a nap and they sent them anyways. Now remember we are on the 23rd floor one morning the fire alarm was going off and we didn't know if it was a test or what so I called the front desk multiple times no answer. Well, better safe than sorry we climbed the 23 stairs down because we could smell smoke. when we made it to the area, the front desk had no idea what was going on on the 23rd floor and that if our alarm was going off and I told him I called a few times and he played kind of dumb and said I was in the back. he contacted the manager and the manager said that they have been having problems with the fire alarm on the 23rd floor. I asked why weren't we notified and he didn't have an answer? my dad has problems had to walk 23 floors down and my dad also asked the neighbor and they told him they were notified about the fire alarm. went at the front desk. I asked to speak to a manager and this time I spoke to Arturo Lomotil and he was rude and basically didn't apologize for what it happened and said that they have an issue having issues with the fire alarm, I told him we were never notified, and he said I'd like to file a complaint I would have to contact my RCI? experiences with management were horrible and a few things that happened were horrible. The beach is not swimmable. It is so rocky and so rough. The only thing that we enjoyed on our vacation was staying. Here was the pool and the swim bar had great bartenders and the Palapa restaurant had great service. I would like to give an honorable mention to Alejandra. I believe her name was she worked in concierge. She was amazing. I'm gonna give you two examples on why she was amazing when I was upset she handled me very professionally and was very empathetic and I had two children fly in from Boston in LA and when I had to say goodbye to both of them, she actually stopped what she was doing and saw that I was upset and gave me a hug. She deserves a raise.

For example, the shuttle service (provided to the Tau beach club and the sister property Grand Velas) was a little confusing. Through no fault of their own, the cartel gang war caused the shuttle to be only partially operational during those days, but I don't think that we (as guests) were adequately briefed on evolving security. Unlike most other large properties where there are different types of cousines, there was just the main restaurant that (while we were they) served a la carte for breakfast and lunch and a buffet for dinner. Food was good but per usual with an all-inclusive you're better off going off property. Place itself is beautiful and service was nice albeit a little slow. It is adults-only and has a chill vibe. Since it's not a big hotel, you won't have to wake up extra early to secure a spot at the beach. Casa Velas is all-inclusive, but none of the meals are buffets, which makes for a more upscale experience with higher-quality food. Many of the guests were repeat visitors, with some staying for two weeks or more. The hotel itself is beautiful, but for me, the biggest draw was the attentiveness of the staff. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of. They paid attention to our preferences and personalized our experience in remarkable ways. They suggested menu items and were quick to bring whatever we requested. At dinner, Rodolfo stood out with his flawless service and impressive talent for making the boozy flambéed coffee. His menu suggestions were spot-on as well! At the beach, Carlos was a tireless worker who anticipated our every need. After the first day, he had everything set up and ready to go, knew all of our preferences, and continually went above and beyond. Erick and the entire team at Tao Beach Club were also fantastic. On our last night, they decorated our table with a beautiful flower arrangement and surprised us with a dessert plate thanking us for visiting. Ávalos and the breakfast staff were wonderful--some of the kindest and most hardworking people you could imagine. We spent a lot of time at the pool, where Juan, Ramón, and Ulises took excellent care of us. I also used the gym and found it well-equipped. On one occasion, it had already closed for the day (after 5 PM), but they graciously opened it for me. The spa was great! I had a 50-minute Harmony massage with Lourdes, who was not only an amazing masseuse but also incredibly sweet and attentive. Our room was meticulously cleaned every day and we found little souvenirs every night which were so appreciated. At Casa Velas, you will be pampered to the extreme. Highly recommend it!
