The St. Regis brand is lauded for their exceptional service and while they are a top luxury brand, there were a few misses during our week long stay. The property is beautifully maintained and everyday, we saw crews trimming the hedges just right, fixing one of their many water fountains, and raking the sand. Prior to our arrival I arranged transportation to/from the airport and the directions provided were very precise. Upon entering the gate for the resort, you are ensconced with the beautiful, lush greenery of the property. The property is huge as it shares the golf course with multiple resorts within the gates to include the Four Seasons. On your first trip to the property, it is a rather long drive as they want you to take in your surroundings, however, during your stay if you leave the property, they take a shorter exit. When we arrived, we were escorted to the veranda where we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica, who went over our reservation and explained the property. We were asked if we would like the NYT and USA Today daily and we chose the paper edition of both. We were excited to have a full printed newspaper that we could enjoy during breakfast. After about 20 minutes, we were shown to our room and within 10 minutes, Jaime, our assigned butler, arrived to go over their services as well as the room. We had a huge garden view room with a partial view of the ocean that included a private balcony as well as an outdoor shower that was lovely. Having a butler was very nice because you could text them for anything. I especially liked that each day, you could get 2 items pressed per person and they will also run you a bubble bath with salts which came in handy after a full day of excursions. The only complaint we had for the rooms was that the toilet lids did not soft close and instead, slammed down and also, they have the cheap Conair hair dryers, the ones that smell like it's going to catch fire if you use it for too long. I made the mistake of leaving behind my travel hair dryer and I implore you do not leave yours behind as you will regret it. The next day we awoke to discover that the "printed paper" left in our door handle, were just photocopies of each paper and not the whole paper either, so that was a bit disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, another disappointment was that the free breakfast was only for the buffet. Although they have a menu, it is not free if you order from it. That was shocking because one of our favorite resorts is the Waldorf in Cabo and our breakfast could be ordered from the menu and their food was gourmet and delicious! As we were headed to the pool, I did not see a beach bag in our closet and when we contacted the butler, we were told that they do not provide beach bags! But guess who does, The Waldorf in Cabo! I had several beach bags at home and left them because I assumed the St. Regis would have provided one. Seriously, for the amount of money you pay per night, that is the least they could do. They do have 3 pools on property and only 1 is for adults only which was nice. The chairs are on a first come basis, so each day, we stopped by before breakfast to claim our chairs as we did not want to get stuck with a chair without umbrellas. When you look at the menu, it states that they provide fresh, complimentary snacks daily and that was so far from the truth. Only one day, did they bring around skewers of fresh melon, which I cannot eat. The Four Seasons Wailea, brings their guests fresh snacks, ice cream and etc, about every hour while you are hanging out poolside. The only thing St. Regis provided were complimentary ice buckets filled with bottles of water which was needed and very much appreciated. During our stay, we stopped by the spa and had a wonderful couples massage from Diana and Taymi. Their usher Neidit was also very nice and helpful with the lockers. While we had a wonderful and relaxing stay, it would have been nice if they had a lounge area to hangout or something to do on property. They do have several bars you can enjoy and we did enjoy hanging out with the guys in the lobby bar. The entire staff and the drivers were top notch and very professional. Had an AMAZING stay at this resort. The resort is pretty hidden and not easily accessible, so it very private and luxurious. When you enter through the front gates, they check every car entering to make sure they are guests. Then you drive through a pretty, scenic route to the hotel. The service was excellent from the first moment of arriving. We loved the room we stayed in, it was huge and had everything we needed. The hotel is very private so we did not have any other guests staying that close to our villa. During our stay we noticed there were not a whole lot of guests which was very nice. The ratio of workers to guests was crazy, there had to be 5-10 workers per guest. The layout of the resort is spread out so we did a lot of walking. Our villa came with a dedicated butler to our room. He helped us with anything and everything we needed. We definitely felt very spoiled! There are several pools and they are all amazing. One is a private pool for adults only. However there were only a few kids we saw the whole time we stayed here. The restaurants have amazing food. The beachfront is very pretty and there are plenty of lounge chairs to hangout at. The workers come to you on the beach to take drink orders. We had some very chill and relaxing days where we did not leave the resort but it was fun to do some of the excursions too. We loved the spa too; it was one of the best massages I've gotten. Solid 4.5 stars! I loved the attention we got upon arrival. Staff got us checked in quickly and drove us on a cart to our room. It was beautifully decorated for our anniversary. The butler service was fantastic! They were always quick to respond. I wish there was more than one place to eat for breakfast but that's ok. For all of you American coffee lovers, my husband and I did not enjoy the coffee despite our many attempts. It wasn't bad, just not the vanilla oat milk lattes we are used to. The many restaurants and bars were great! Highly recommend Sea Breeze, Mita Mary Boat Bar, and Altamira Cantina. Carolina was fantastic for a little more expensive experience. Simply put one of the best getaways I've ever experienced! A 45 minute drive from Puerto Vallarta airport brings you to a private secluded first class resort. You are truly treated like royalty. There was a security checkpoint upon arriving on the ground, and then we were greeted by staff with a brief introduction of services offered, meanwhile, we were given a choice of margarita or hibiscus drink, But somehow ended up with the latter and after the refreshment your carted off to one of the luxurious, oceanview rooms note they're only 120 rooms. The beach lounge chairs were so peaceful and relaxing and the service on the beach tends to your every need from offering you any type of margarita or adjusting your umbrella and then there's a woman that continuously walks by offering additional treats like Popsicles and popcorn or fruit on the stick or sangria such a fabulous service .There were iguanas hanging out in the trees above us while we lounged around. The room had a large balcony, offering a lounge chair and patio tables to catch the most beautiful sunsets. There was an outdoor shower and huge soaking tub. The pillows and bed were super comfortable, and they offered nightly bed service to include chocolate treats. The two butlers, were very attentive when we would send them a text we promptly received an instant reply. there's plenty of infinity pools which were a little warm for me. I prefer a cool refreshing temperature of 80°, but I did sleep better here than I did at home. This is the ideal, romantic honeymoon getaway. The only con is that the beach is not swimmable As far as the restaurants, there were three located directly on the beach, where you sit right on the sand. The food did not disappoint whether you're eating at Las Marietas, Majaqua Pop Up, Sea Breeze or Mita Mary they all rival to a five star meal along with the five star price, Oh well you only live once. To summarize it was only a two hour and 45 minute airplane ride from Los Angeles and the resort pretty much has everything and the best part of it to me were watching the gorgeous sunsets with the love of my life. If you are used to steak houses in the USA I would not recommend getting steak and any of the 5 star resorts in this part of Mexico because it just isn't the same but anything else is absolutely delicious!!! The sauces, salsas, fish, ceviche etc - all so fabulous! Everything is beautiful, the buffet breakfast is SO GOOD! Also the room service you guys is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend plus the hotel rooms are so nice so take advantage of a night in chilling. The outdoor shower was my favorite thing! Definitely feels very Queen and King at the St Regis! Do not stay here - everything on YouTube and travel blogs/sites purport "four seasons or st Regis. You can't go wrong with either!" Wrong. You absolutely can. These two hotels are not in the same league of comfort, luxury or beauty. Entire time at Regis we were scrambling to track down a serve at the pool. We got seated three days in a row at the worst table at breakfast. They didn't clean our room one day. They often forgot food and drinks when we ordered them at the pool... The signs across the resort are falling apart, there was caution tape all over the grounds for various gardening projects... it looked rough. If it were a less expensive hotel, with a less prestigious brand behind it, that would be one thing. But it's expensive AND stressful. Do yourself a favor: spend the extra money and stay at Four Seasons. It's impeccable. Beautiful grounds, amazing service, just fabulous. Yes it's more money. But there's a reason for that. You get so much more in return. If you can't do four seasons, the W seemed great too. read more

Although we didn't stay at the St. Regis, we visited the Beach Club, so this review is specifically about the Beach Club. One word....INCREDIBLE!!!!! The ambiance, amenities, service, location, and total experience was WAAAAY beyond expectations. In all honesty, it was heaven on Earth. I was here in October of 2023 and it was incredible. I'm here right now and it's completely changed. I rented a villa for 5 nights which cost about $47k, and the beach service is basically non existent. The staff do not seem happy and they act like they are doing me a favor when they take my order. Today I had to chase a server down to take my lunch order. Its unbelievable. The food on the beach is good, however the food at the restaurants is okay but used to be much better. Yesterday, house keeping didn't come to my room to clean it until I called my butler and this was past noon. Right now it is 1pm and they still haven't showed up. At the Seabream restaurant , we waited for a server to come and even introduce themselves for like 25 minutes. I am in shock at the quality differential between the last time I was here, and this time. I could be getting much better service at an all inclusive resort and paying 1/5th price. Where do I even begin... this place is such a magical treat!! Once you first step foot onto the resort, you are handed a marg and overlooking the property and ocean view. No gimmicks or hassle about timeshare (like most PVR hotels) just straight bliss upon arrival. The rooms were very clean and good sized. Patio has seating with an outdoor ceiling fan. Good sized shower, tub, and outdoor shower. TV includes Netflix and YouTube. COVID wise- felt extremely safe. Hotel was at 30% capacity. It even felt empty at times! One evening we had dinner at 7pm and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Must make reservations for gym use. Service was amazing! They were able to accommodate every request and I never had to lift a finger. Pool and beachside, they always provided ice cold water bottles right away. There were times I felt they were overcharging excessively - No coffee machine in room. Must order from private dining which was roughly $6 a cup not including tip. (Didn't realize we were at Blue Bottle) Paid about $25 for a bottle of sunscreen. Make sure you make a trip to oxxo before arriving. UBER isn't really available here and so we had to use their car service. They don't offer free shuttles. One way out is $7 and for a ride back, they charge double. So going to Oxxo which is right outside the resort (about 2 miles?) cost about $21 not including tip... really annoying that a short drive costs more than a whole meal. Also for reference, it costed only about $40 including tip for an hour long uber ride from airport to resort. The way back was roughly $120 including tip. Otherwise, this place is worth every penny! Amazing, safe getaway from the pandemic. Can't wait to return again in the future. read more

If there were 6 stars and more, this resort would surely deserve it. This was such an incredible experience and so memorable. -From my welcome mango margarita looking over the breathtaking views at reception, I already felt the stress level go down. -My room...which is decorated beautifully, had a huge soaking tub and outdoor shower. -Let's talk about those two welcome bags of chocolate covered raisins. Before my bags were unpacked, I had devoured one bag already. Imagine my surprise when I returned from dinner and there were TWO more waiting for me!! -Drinks at Carolina. The king of bartenders is Carlos! He is so talented and just watching him make cocktails was a treat as I sipped on a very refreshing Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Returned there for dessert after Sea Breeze. -Sea Breeze!!! Wow...Omar guided me through the menu and I ended up having items from the Mita Mary because I have a love affair with ceviche and camarone tacos! And they probably ran out of salsa because I ate so many tortilla chips (homemade of course). That is a great touch - having the choice of their menu as well as Sea Breeze. -The personal butler!! I was so spoiled. I loved being able to text Leo and Edgar. They arranged transportation, responded so quickly and I was afraid to ask them for more chocolate covered raisins!!!! Unparalleled service at the St. Regis Punta Mita. This is my 4th St. Regis property and definitely the best so far. Details matter. This resort understands that. With only 120 rooms on a sprawling property, the staff is able to provide 5 star service to every guest. Upon arrival, you get your choice of margarita or a hibiscus drink. You relax with an amazing view as check in comes to you. Morning coffee service by the butler staff is a really nice perk. Send a text and 15 minutes later, a pot arrives with your choice of 5 milks/cream and the New York Times digest. There are cabanas available for rent on the beach and there is a daily happy hour - where you can get 2 glasses of Veuve for $22! The St. Regis traditions are always amazing - the sabering of a champagne bottle being my personal favorite. It's lovely being in the same place as many of the guests, where we can all enjoy this tradition and collectively celebrate. We will definitely be back at this resort. It's unbelievable. read more

This is a review of the Sea Breeze restaurant ONLY! This was hands down our worst dining experience in Punta Mita!! One of my kids had the grill cheese. How do you mess up grill cheese? You serve it cold, on stale bread, with stale fries!! I had the catch of the day (sole). The fish was dry and the risotto that was served with it was quite mushy. Lastly, the service was terrible! We asked for more pasta sauce. It never came. If you head to the St Regis, avoid Sea Breeze at all costs!!! read more

I was here for 5 days and 4 nights. What a great experience. The place is beautiful and well maintained. There are 3 pools all of which are clean and beautiful. There is an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The food at all the restaurants is just great. I had the breakfast buffet/brunch every day. It was very good and there is more than enough options for everyone. You are given a butler you can text at any time. Basically they bring you coffee and press 2 pieces of clothing per person per day. I couldn't think of anything else for them to do for me but I am sure if I had a request they would do it. One of the nicest resorts I have stayed at. Service is great from the time you arrive. It's about a 45 minute drive from the airport. You get a welcome cocktail when you arrive. A golf cart takes you to your room at which time a butler goes over everything. You have direct access to him for the entire stay. The beach and pools were amazing. Staff is very friendly. They also have an evening turn down service. Kids under 5 eat for free which was great since we have twin 4 year old boys. Breakfast is probably the best meal. They have live egg station and a Mexican station that makes fresh tacos and other local food everyday. Our only complaint was the restaurant/room service options for lunch and dinner could be a little more extensive. We will definitely be returning. read more

I was so excited to come here, looking at the pictures of the beautiful property. Unfortunately, it didn't match up to what a 5 star hotel should be. The St Regis is touted to be for luxury, but I couldn't see it. They do have a personal butler that you can text at any point (loved mine - Edgar/Victor). First off, to get into the property you have to go through a guarded part which makes it hard for Ubers to get in - you have to use the hotel's taxis or walk; this does create a feeling of safety for people to walk around the area. However, there was a problem of cockroaches and a lot of bugs in the room, and outdated tiling. The TV is extremely small, and comes up slowly out of a remote controlled cabinet (I guess that's the best word to describe it). It was a beautiful property, but it just didn't match up to a 5 star hotel unfortunately. read more

The best resort I've been to for sure. A stunning property with lush tropical plants and exotic flowers all around. It feels more like a large neighborhood than a hotel. The entire staff was so welcoming and courteous. The personal butlers, who eagerly help with packing/unpacking, making reservations to restaurants, arrange transportation...etc, make the stay even more enjoyable. There are several restaurants within the property...SeaBreeze was the one I frequented the most. Breakfast is served from 9am-12pm and you can order from their menu or go with their breakfast buffet which has everything you need, from breakfast items to fresh to order omelets, waffles and tacos. They have a beautiful spa, with complimentary access to the sauna, steam room and an outdoor lounging area and showers infused with eucalyptus and tangerine steam. The beach wasn't the nicest I've been to, however. The sand was very rocky and it didn't have that clear blue water that calls you to get in. The gym, although clean with fairly new equipment, was bit lacking. They could add a few more machines and weight bars. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone considering coming to Punta Mita. read more

We had a great time here! We loved our servers on the beach. The food and drinks were fantastic. The guys were kind, fun and sweet. We felt welcome. The pool is beautiful and the view is breathtaking! Our only issue was when we went swimming in the ocean there; it was a scary experience. We got swept out and no matter how hard we swam, we couldn't get back in. If my husband wasn't there I would've drowned. Ask about swimming conditions before getting in that beautiful water. This is the 4th time we have stayed at this resort and it is just beautiful. The staff is so courteous and welcoming and we get treated so well here. My husband is a Platinum Starwood member and I have to say, it is worth it to keep all of your loyalty in one place. We have always received an upgraded room (suite) and they truly recognize our special occasions (like anniversaries and birthdays). I love the pool area above the Beachside taco bar/restaurant. Very attentive and will get you whatever you need. As part of our Starwood Platinum perk, we always choose the breakfast buffet - is is simply wonderful! Hot entrees such as pork chicken meat, omelette and egg station, fresh breads and cereals, waffles, pancakes, breakfast meats and to top it off, a taco/quesadilla bar!! The rooms are exquisite - outdoor showers, beautifully appointed bathrooms with TV's, toiletries were top of the line and alway replenished twice daily....what more can you ask for?? The hotel grounds are beautiful. So much lushness and greenery everywhere. The beach is beautiful but has lots of rocks so I recommend bringing special shoes to enjoy the beach. The pool temperatures are quite hot in August. It would be much nicer if the pool had cool and refreshing temperature. They lack in the fumigation department. There was a scorpion and many bugs in my room on the first day. The rooms are beautifully designed, very homey and comfy. Nice mattress and pillows. If I came here just to sleep I would give the rooms 5 stars. My room had a fungus coming out of the air conditioning vent. The reservations department specifically the reservations manager is the worst and I do not recommend using them. I booked a room with a pool and another room and they had so many communication mistakes that they gave me other rooms and did not apologize for it. The reservations manager was the rudest I have ever encountered. He even swung his finger in my face and argued with me. I asked for the hotel manager James Hughes many times and he never came. The most I got was the luggage manager and my reservation was never fixed. The spa is mediocre at best. The manicurist was very friendly. The massage though didn't even last 30 seconds. I get much better quality manicures at any corner manicure shop. The price is $50.00 and definitely not worth it. On my birthday I tried a complimentary massage and it was good. When I went to take a shower the stall had dog or cat feces in it. Totally disgusting and not something you expect to encounter at a spa. The President of Mexico was actually at the spa at the same time as me! I wonder if he would have like to take a shower in a poopy stall. We tried the food the first couple of days but we just couldn't take how bad it was anymore so we started to eat out more. They can't make a simple Caesar salad and their deserts are not up to par with great hotels. They really need to work on the flavors of the room service and Sea Breeze foods. The churros are good at Sea Breeze but I personally wouldn't serve them with the sauces. Better win a scoop of ice cream. I ordered a medium rare steak at Sea Breeze and they brought it to me almost well done so I had to return it. They The only decent restaurant is the one by the beach. The food at the hotel is extremely expensive. I don't mind paying a lot for food as long as it's good. The hotel has a long way to go in their food department. Frozen fries, cheap cuts of meat, I have had better meals at all inclusive hotels. Make sure you dine at Tuna Blanca in town when staying at this hotel. It's in town and it's definitely good. After posting my complaints, management did send me some complementary wines which was a very nice gesture that I appreciate but it. I would have preferred for the hotel to do things correctly in the first place. When you are on vacation you don't want to argue with reservations managers and have them point at you and disagree with you. A vacation is for relaxing nor for working or fixing the mistakes of others. Our mayordomo Christian did a good job. This hotel has everything to be amazing. They need to work on Managment. My tip for the hotel managment: Consistency is an important value for any company. If an item on your menu includes avocado and cheese and you consistently don't serve your customer the avocado and cheese even if they ask for it that is definitely a problem. You are charging your customers for items that you are not giving to them. read more

You can use their surfboards, standup paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkeling gear on the beach for $120. There are surfing spots that are within walking distance. Breakfast, which is free for Starwood Platinum guests is included. Highly recommend the grapefruit juice. read more

Funny story, I found out about this place from Gwyneth Paltrow's obnoxious email newsletter, Goop. I keep telling myself to unsubscribe but it's like a car accident, I can't look away! Supposedly her and Apple plus little Moses also dig this place. We had a beautiful room that had a terrace and came with a butler that I could text 24/7. (The butler withdrawals were serious when I got home.) All the fresh sea food was delicious. The service was unreal. Do the boat tour to the hidden beaches. My husband went spear fishing and we ate his bounty after our butler cooked it up into fish tacos. Was this real life?! Get a cabana for one (or five) of the days - actually reasonable for a St. Regis. Then when it's all over try to plan a way to get back to this little slice of heaven. We spent 4 wonderful nights here. Anyone complaining is probably someone who is impossible to please, so ignore. I was a bit worried this was too far from the airport, but the drive was not bad at all. No traffic. The hotel arranged an SUV for us for about $235 USD roundtrip. Email the concierge or butler via FB; the new SPG/ Marriott merged website is awful. The old SPG site had more useful information. We did not get our usual one week out SPG email from the concierge, which was weird. As an SPG member, I have been used to that. I tend to blame the tech downfalls on the Marriott merger. The service was great. 5 stars! The grounds are quiet, peaceful, and not crowded even when they are pretty booked. Everyone was wonderful. Food was fantastic - a vegan option at every location. They knew I was vegan and when I sat down, the servers would alert me to the vegan options for me. I highly suggest the brunch tofu with grilled pineapple. Delish! I really enjoy the local wines and had great options with every meal from nearby areas in Mexico. My husband had two great days of golfing on the courses and said the service was perfect. Our room was clean and the bed was perfect. We used the outdoor shower and bathtub daily, as well as enjoyed room service on our private terrace one evening. The outside bed/ lounger was a nice touch too. This was the most stress-free, restful, quiet, peaceful vacation we have had in a while. Everything was clean, well done, and we wanted or waited for nothing. Butler service was great and we thank everyone there for doing such a wonderful job. The butlers use iMessage, which makes things so much easier and faster. 5-6pm happy hour was our favorite. They offer 2 for one glasses of Veuve. We need adults only space and we were given that; we saw 0 children in the area for adults and I was able to listen to podcasts, read, and nap outside daily with quiet peace and wonderful service for drinks and lunch at the pool. I got a private poolside massage one day, and it was perfect. Oh, don't skip the grilled salad at Mita Mary's - one of the best I have had! Did you know that Punta Mita means "Gateway to Paradise"? It might just be referring to the St Regis Punta Mita, because WOW. Absolutely gorgeous. Photos don't do it justice. The kind of place you want to lose yourself in a good book, ponder life while laying on a hammock, and indulge yourself in a 10,000 square-foot spa with treatments you didn't know you needed. Remède Spa at The St. Regis is an amazing sanctuary in the middle of paradise with beautiful greenery, oversized chairs, and the sound of running water. They even offer outdoor treatment options under shady canopies. Once you're done pampering yourself, head over to the pool area and stop by the boutique so you can browse through some super cute finds. I bought a cute teal beach coverup and was very tempted to take home of their cool dreamcatchers. DON'T MISS - Arrange a boat trip for whale-watching (December to March) or for a 20-minute trip to Marietas Islands for spectacular fishing, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding - Dine at Mita Mary Bistro Boat restaurant on the beach, which is one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine with some of the best ceviche I've ever had - If you're a Bloody Mary fan, you must of course get a Bloody Mary when you're at a St Regis because each hotel does a different local spin on it read more

We debated between The St. Regis and Four Seasons for a summer vacation in Punta Mita. I'm happy to say The St. Regis did not disappoint. The minute you arrive you are transported to a fabulous experience. The view is breathtaking, margaritas and your butler will take over. Sit back and enjoy! Butler service is excellent. Juan, Christian, Julio and Tomas were all excellent. Every request is accommodated. Pressing clothes, coffee service, packing and unpacking, car service, spa appts, restaurant reservations...everything. It is a point of difference to the Four Seasons that ultimately swayed me. The room is understated yet luxurious. Ocean view is a must. Comfortable bed, very clean, indoor and outdoor shower, separate claw tub, robes, slippers, tons of thick towels, twice a day service. Spa...had massages and facials. Gustavo was excellent for a 90 minute massage. Showers are outside which would be fine in other months. Outdoor jacuzzi, steam, sauna, etc. The outdoor area was simply too hot to enjoy in July. Great spa experience. Overall food and drinks were good. Breakfast at Seabreeze was always fresh, tasty with tons of service. Vanessa at Seabreeze, was delightful. She was so happy and welcoming. You must leave the property and eat at Si Senor. Best authentic Mexican food in town. We went multiple times. So flipping good. Sufi also great but unbearably hot. Food excellent. Pool service was great. Ice buckets and water with fresh towels provided throughout the day. Ceviche is a must. Margaritas great. Ricardo was five star. A few minor criticisms.... TV in room...very few American Channels. Also could not get Netflix so TV was very minimal. Live music around the property would be a nice perk. Music near the adult pool is suggested. Misters as you walk through certain areas. It's unbearably hot. Bring bug spray. It is a jungle environment and bed bites are common. The hotel provides spray, but I would have come more prepared. Coming in July is Hot and Humid. I would come earlier in the season next time. Gym - lacked a bit more equipment. I think all 5 star properties need a gauntlet stair climber. I do think the Four seasons has one. I did miss a fully equipped gym however it's hard to workout in the heat. Overall this is a great spot. Very few children which was nice. The property doesn't feel like a hotel at all. You feel like you are the only guest. I'm really happy we stayed with them. The service level was excellent. read more

This is a review that mostly references my current stay but will also reference my past 2 additional stays at this resort. The reason for this is to reflect on what has not changed over the past 5 years. To start my first visit was my honey moon(12 nights) where so many things went wrong we were upgraded 2x during our stay due to facilities failing such as AC units and leaks in the ceiling among other issues. They invited us back to a 3 night stay to make up for the issues, most was okay with a couple little issues but for the most part it was a nice stay. I am back now, staying with my 2 children. So far service has taken a down turn. It takes anywhere from 15-45 minutes to be acknowledged at the pool by a server or have your chairs made up with towels. Some servers are more friendly and attentive then others. Family pool has a lot of broken tiles around the outside of the pool some with sharp pints that I have stepped on 2x painfully poking your feet. Same floating trash and bugs and leaves etc. in the water for days. Some pool attendants smile and are friendly and some make you feel like they don't want you there. They opened the Moet champagne bar where oysters and sushi are mediocre. No nice brine in the oysters and sushi had no flavor. Server was not around at first so sat for about 10 minutes and then when he did come he informed me I could order from somewhere else and get the same things- would be a nice suggestion if he didn't make it seem like it was inconvenient to serve us at 6:45 when they close at 7, which he reminded me of the time and when they close when I got there. Also the coconut bao bun was hard and burned. FYI bao is soft and spongy. Was not worth waiting for- left most on the plate, completely inedible. Seabreeze restaurant: had catch of the day with risotto , again flavorless as well as pasta with prawns. Over cooked prawns were tough and pasta was equivalent to olive garden. Garden salad with fresh vegetables was delicious. However most items I have had during the stay were nothing special but the server was excellent and catered to my 2 little boys and helped when he saw me juggling them by myself. Tacos from Mita Mary: beef tacos were excellent, lobster tacos were way overdone, tough and tasted like char. Room service: friendly service and what you would expect for room service for a resort of this caliber. I think the butlers Julio, Cesar, and Juan are great. Always enhancing the experience. Love the coffee service. Now, back to the facilities. On our 2nd night there was a big rain storm which caused a large leak in my ceiling. So from 2am-3am I was up watching maintenance run in and out and I was tossing down piles of towels to soak up all the water in the entry way that is between the room and the bathroom. I was unable to go back to sleep till 5 so that's a night of rest I missed on vacation. Not so relaxing. At the pool the next day I watched a gentleman go around and offer about 2-3 other parties some sort of apology and offer some thing to make up for the flooding etc that occurred. So I am not the only one who was effected. No one came to me for about 2 hours. Violeta offered me a spa service, basically an upgrade to a spa service I already booked so instead of a mini facial I am getting a regular facial with the package I booked. That is an additional 30 minutes. I am unclear if they are comping the entire service or the upgrade. To be honest. If it's only the upgrade that is a poor recovery. If it's the whole service then I feel that is more acceptable considering a nightly price to stay here and I lost a night of rest and sleep due to their lack of maintenance. I will find out tomorrow. I am writing this now even though I still have 2 more night to stay here mostly because I am so frustrated and annoyed with how the stay had been going. I came hoping the 3rd times a charm visiting - not the 3rd strike out. My husband and I are loyal spg (now Marriott) gold members. We love st Regis. We spent Christmas at st Regis Bali (amazing- perfect) and I hoped this resort would come around. However we will not be back. Premium prices should command premium experiences and facilities. If this was my first visit perhaps I would not feel so frustrated. But shame on me for coming back and expecting it to be different. 5 stars for the staff who work hard and provide excellent service. Minus 2 stars for the facilities and those staff who are less friendly. I will update this review after my stay if anything changes. read more

We came to the St Regis after attending a three day wedding ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, and we regret ever visiting this St Regis. Compare to other hotels, it was horrific and simply just ruined our image of what this St Regis could be. First of all we had previously arranged for a car to pick us up from another villa in Puerto Vallarta to the hotel, but have already cancel it 3 days prior, we have receive email confirmation of successful cancelation but on the day of the shuttle still arrive, showing the lack of communication within the concierge team. Upon arrival (this night was booked with employee discount) when we were checking in, all proper documentation was presented (Marriot authorization card), the person checking us in said it was not valid, I needed to provide more information. We even show them the email of booking, which have already stated all the necessary documents needed (authorization card) but he said it was not enough. Afterwards a work id was provided but it was not sufficient, that is when it became ridiculous, this is not the first time I have stayed under the employee rate and check in was not as frustrating as this. He told me to call my manager and confirm, hence I did but no. He needed to call himself, also note that he was not smiling at all during the whole time. We felt very unwelcome and felt that it was a shame. Finally my manager confirm I was an employee after about one hour of providing information to the guy at check in we were told our room wasn't ready.no apologies or anything for interrogating us and making us feel like we didn't belong there. He just gave us a map and said we should walk around...truly felt that we no longer want to stay there anymore. Around 2 hours later we finally got a call that our room was ready, but on the ride to the room we heard that business has been slow so we really didn't understand why our room took two hours. We had dinner at the restaurant, staff was very accommodating. However we never receive the food discount as part of an employee. Unfortunately, we will not recommend anyone to this hotel, at the bar rate it is comparable to other hotels and you can almost be guarantee a better service at other hotels. read more

As a lover of Starwood Hotels and Resorts I had super high expectations for this trip. I am pleased to say that this location did indeed live up to the St. Regis standards. I have stayed in 4 total SR brand hotels and this one falls in line with its sisters. The grounds: This is a vast property. You can't help but feel far and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday. You are completely secluded Staff, Butlers, and Management: Everyday all day long I was made to feel like royalty. No one passed me without greeting me and none allowed me to lift a finger for anything. Room: What a stunning little haven. I stayed in an ocean view room with a King sized bed and lively patio. I rotated from the pool and beach to my outdoor daybed and comfy reading chair to endulge in the surroundings and my Netflix. Bathroom: This was a space all its own with beautiful lighting and both and indoor and outdoor shower. I love when the toilet is in a separate room making it excellent for two people sharing Food: This was hit or miss. Nothing was to die for and I'm quite sure I got sick from something that didn't agree with my stomach (thus the missing star) however I am thankful for how the resort catered to my gluten allergy. Excursions: I went through a beginners scuba diving class. Overall I had a great teacher but the ocean itself was very murky and unsafe this time of year....not the best way to spend $300, but you live and learn. Spa: They have thought of every detail here. The entire place is set up for therapy and relaxation from the moment you arrive through the end out your treatment. I enjoyed the salon, hot and cold tubs and the steam room. My 90 minute massage was top notch! Overall this is a lovely property. I came in low season but definitely recommend it to families, couples, and solo travelers during the winter months! read more
