Saw this business pop up on my yelp search and since Ace is a well known brand, decided to give it a try. Mike showed up on time each day and was very professional. I appreciated him taking the time to go through the process of what he would do and kept me updated every step of the way. After taking out the windows, we noticed the wall was slightly uneven, but after he finished putting in drywall, everything looked amazing. The wall was smooth and seamless. You would never know windows were there! Very happy with the work that was done! Finally a handyman that doesn't give you a vague schedule and actually shows up at a specific time versus having to wait all day for them to *hopefully* show up. Prices might be a little higher than some other companies, but it's definitely worth it! Professional, on time, and high quality service. You definitely get what you pay for. Highly recommend! Bonus: It's a locally owned business and who doesn't want to support great local businesses.

Nice folks, but not exactly a user friendly fix-it model. I called for an estimate, was told to…read moresend pics, which I did. was given an estimate that sounded high. Was then told I could get one of their crew out to take a look, but it would cost $99 plus tax. which would be applied to the final bill if I got the work done. I thought it might be a good idea, but then they came back with the exact same, very high, estimate. I had some of the same work done a while back and the handy man did each segment in about 20 minutes; but Ace was saying it would take an hour for the same thing (each segment). I'm not sure the estimator was really confident in the time it would take him. Nice fellow though. And, I'm not sure that they are allowed to 'think outside the box' when presented with something unusual. In this case it was sealing some open areas around the trim on the house. It needs a little filler, like a wood slat and some sika (or other outdoor caulk) and, as I said, that same work was done on other trim areas in about 10 to 15 min each piece of trim area. So I did not hire Ace, and I had to eat the estimate charge. I'd say, they likely can do a standard kind of job with square footage or straightforward and 'by the book' kinds of installs/fixes, but I'd not call them back for anything that isn't standard. I'm not calling them back for anything at this point. There was another element to the estimate that I got fixed by another handyman today, that took approx. 20 min and I did not need new parts for. So -- though some folks seem to like Ace, I'd not recommend them for anything that requires adaptability or creative thinking. They may be limited by their partner (Ace Hardware), since it's a franchise, but I could not see paying their price of $150/hour (plus tax and materials) for 7 or 8 hours for a job that would take about 2 or 3 hours tops (if that).

They usually showed up 15 minutes earlier than they said they would and often stayed well past quitting time to get things done. 2. They were very easy to work with. Large home reno projects always have little hiccups or last minute changes and they never made a big deal out of those issues. They listened to what we wanted and worked hard to make that a reality even if what we wanted changed during the course of the project. 3. Mason came over, gave it a good inspection, took a bunch of measurements, and promised an estimate in a few days. True to Mason's word, I got the estimate a few days later. At first, I thought it was a bit high, but I went with Paradise because of the good work they've done for us in the past. I really didn't realize how much work would be involved with fixing this railing. Well, the workers arrived a few days later and got to work, and man, did they work! Three full days. They ripped out and replaced all the rotten lumber, and there was a LOT, then waterproofed the balcony and added a flashing to prevent future water rot. The railing is SOLID now, the deck is waterproofed, and we have the peace of mind that upstairs is safe. Worth every penny, for sure. Mahalo, Paradise Contracting, for another job well done.
