This is the first time I have been to IB pet and this place is impressive. Such a diverse selection of dog treats, chews, bones, frozen raw bones, raw food section and dry kibble! Sarah so Knowledgeable and she taught me a lot about different foods for my pups. While Imperial Beach is far from where I live, I was happy to find out that they have another location in La Mesa! I'm glad I checked this place out!! Good stuff!

I have had dogs my entire life. And now I have a 9-week-old Siamese kitten, her name is Kenya. First time cat owner, so needless to say I am overwhelmed because I didn't do my research and I knew what I was feeding her was just not good enough. I walked into this shop looking like a confused soul. I was immediately greeted by the cashier who was helping out two other customers and she noticed that I looked lost. She asked me if I had any questions. I just said "I am a first-time cat owner, I am looking to get my new kitten onto a full raw diet, and I don't know where to start. Or if it even the right move." She said to let her finish taking care of the two customer that were there and that I have come to the right place, she assured me that I was going to get setup with everything I needed and that doing this was the best thing I could possibly do for a new kitten. I was not prepared for the amount of knowledge that this person dropped on me for the next 5-10 minutes. She gave me a plan to transition, she told me everything I was doing wrong and how to fix it, she literally sounded so enthusiastic about what she was introducing to m, AND NOT ONCE did she make me feel like an idiot and was just so focused on getting me on the right path to give my new kitten a well-balanced raw diet. I literally trusted everything she was saying to me at that point. I would have bought the entire freezer if she told me to. I even wanted to buy a bit more, and she advised against it. She said to stick to plan with the raw nuggets into the wet food and the raw kibble, slowly add the raw chicken as I remove the more and more kibble, AND when I'm on the second half of my raw chicken I should be close to having Kenya on a full raw diet. She even said I will see you in a couple weeks. WOW. This is beyond customer service. These are people who love what they do, and they believe in what they sell. I am so grateful I drove by and decided to "check this place out." I have been on Yelp for many, many years. and not once have I cared enough or taken the time to right out a review. But this Store and all of its employees deserve a shout out. The owners must be very proud of the team they have put together. You have gained a lifelong customer in me. I will literally tell everyone I know about this place. this place will be my go-to for all my pet needs.

IB Pet has everything you need and more! I love how caring all the staff I have interacted with have been. IB Pet carries a wide variety of quality dog and cat foods, snacks, treats and pet gadgets. My dog loves duck treats, duck toys and duck food- all of which they carry. I have also been a fan of buying bone marrow for my pup (they have a discount every Friday!). I also snagged a Mudbuster here; great product to clean my dog's paws, I use it daily before letting her crawl into bed at night. IB Pet should be the standard for small businesses everywhere. You can trust the products they have for your furry friend! Attached a pic of my dog Cherry, we stopped by for some limited ingredient dog frozen yogurt.

Recently got a puppy so we were looking for the best pet stores in San Diego. I've passed by the IB pet in Chula Vista but decided to just drive the distance because it looked bigger. I've been trying to visit every best store I could because we moved to a small city where there's barely anything for my pup. When we got here, I immediately fell in love. It was definitely like disneyland for my pup. He was excited and started to sniff everything in sight and even the workers spoiled him with pets and rubs. I didn't catch her name but one of the ladies with a facial piercing was helping us and even gave us a great recommendation for a organic rawhide. I don't give my puppy rawhides cause they're awful for his stomach. She told me I could just hold it up to him and see which one he liked so we grabbed one. We also got him some toys because the pricing here is amazing! I was excited to see alot of the toys I've been eyeing online and they have a great selection. Some of the toys are even cheaper than amazon, how can you beat that?! I even appreciate how they give military discount. Super satisfied with our trip and I'll make the drive even if it's out of the way! Thank you so much IB Pet. My puppy loves the natural rawhide that we bought him another one!

Ive been coming to this pet store for at least 5-6 years now and I've been long overdue to write my review for this amazing pet store. I went in the last 15 min before closing on Monday and the girls that were working are extremely helpful and go out of their way to assist a customer. I always bring my fur babies with me, but since I was in a rush to get here before closing I couldn't :( When I came in to the store I was greeted by one of the girls her name is Isabelle. She also answered my questions about CBD dog cookies and gave me alternative options. I love that the employees here are so very friendly and have great customer service... they deserve 10 stars. In addition to their great service they also have the best deals TBH, I feel like I can find better quality in dog foods here for my fur babies then at bigger corporate pet stores. I will forever be a customer at this IB pets location!!

The folks at work here are the kindest people. I went in today to to buy some dog food but they don't carry it. However they can order it and it will be here next week. So for in the meantime they gave me some stuff to hold them over. How nice is that?! In addition their prices are extremely fair. I was able to get so many treats for my dogs. I'm so happy that this place is here I could literally cry tears of joy. If you have a dog this is where you need to come.

I search far and wide for a specific medicine for my two French bulldogs. I called all the major pet stores to include Petsmart and Petco and neither of them had what I wanted. I did my due diligence and research and unfortunately I had to buy the first medicine online however per the recommendation of the individual selling me the medicine he said to check my local pet stores which IB pets was. IB pets I found to be very Organized. The customer service reps were very knowledgeable and very friendly. I called the one in Chula Vista to no avail however I ended up going to the one in imperial Beach and they had the medicine and were very knowledgeable. I would definitely go back here. Don't forget to ask to see if you have any relevant discounts. Two days later my Frenchie is eating and drinking we picked up a bottle of goats milk and both of my frenchies loved it.

I'm not sure where to even start! My fiance and I came here to purchase the 5 in 1 shots for our pup. At first we were a bit frustrated because they didn't have the knowledge about the shots but understanding because the managers are the ones who deal with the shots. After getting it all straighten out Brian was extremely helpful! Brian went above and beyond. He may have not been knowledgeable about the shots but he knew everything there was to know about things in the store! He told us everything we needed to know about the food we were feeding our pup to how and when to transition her food. He gave us awesome tips on training , feeding and even the toys to give her! This is now our go to place! I highly recommend it!! They also have awesome price matching!! This place is huge and have everything you need!! Debbie was very friendly and helpful as well! read more

I love this place. One, I love to support locally owned businesses. Two, they are knowledgeable in the products and offer many solutions to any problem. Three, they all own pets and use their own products they sell, which I find helpful. They have a great selection of items for cats and dogs. They give samples out sometimes. It's been a few years since I've been here and I gotta say, I was very impressed. I usually go to the big named pet stores due to convenience but their customer service is no where near IB pet's and their prices are way more expensive. Maria R was beyond amazing. Went in extremely distraught after learning my dog has arthritis / multiple other issues. Teresa immediately greeted me and was extremely knowledgeable regarding all of the products I was inquiring about. I love this place. IB Pet is without a doubt the best pet store in south San Diego. They carry a wide variety of limited ingredient brands and are always clean and well stocked. I've yet to come across expired product on the shelves like I have at many other non commercial stores. The reasonable prices are a huge plus. read more

This place is a great resource for a diverse variety of healthy dog food. The owner Lori is is very knowledgeable and friendly and she will special order any food you are looking for. I have asked her to order food they didn't carry at the time and she had it for me in less than a week. Their prices are very good and cheaper than most boutique pet stores. I'm so happy IB finally has a great pet store!!! They provide great personalized service and I have recommended this business to several other pet owners. :) read more

Stopped by yesterday to pick up some food for our soon-to-be pup. It's a small business, but is stocked with some of the best quality dog/cat food. They have many holistic selections. The one staff who assisted us was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they were selling. Also, they have some of the best prices around! They beat Amazon prices!! This is definitely the place that I will go to for my pup's food! read more

This review is long overdue. This place is AMAZING!! I will never go to another pet store as long as I help help it. The staff & owners are great, friendly, & knowledgable. They always ask if you need help & what I love most if their knowledge of the stuff they sale & of dogs. They are never pushy & when I am not sure if my dog will like what I'm buying they always let me know I can bring it back. I love that they carry all USA made products! Their selection of treats are awesome! They carry tons of fresh raw foods for your pets as well. I buy Noelani the bone marrow bones, it is her favorite! Free seminars on many different topics which is really cool. I can't say enough good things about this place! read more

Huge selection of HEALTHY dog food. I absolutely love this place! The customer service is satisfactory, but not outstanding. Cheaper prices than the other holistic Pet stores I've been to. IB Pet by far has the best selection of dog food than any other place I've visited. Wish they would move further north ;) read more

IB Pet has a great selection of food and treats for all your furry loved ones!! The owners, Russ and Lori, are very knowledgable and make sure to carry the best quality food. My furry children especially love the Nature's Variety line they carry. IB pet is a very cute, quaint little place with friendly employees and great customer service!! What can't you say about IB Pet? Nestled in the quiet community of Imperial Beach, this store is a refreshing gem in selection, honesty and a friendly staff. They carry an amazing selection of grain free kibble diets and raw. Through their FB page they maintain you abreast of constant promotions. They too offer a great delivery service. we absolutely love IB Pet! They have a an extensive array of pet foods, toys, supplies and treats. the staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and will carry your goods to your car. we can always find what we need and have no reason to shop anywhere else for our dog. In addition, they support our community by holding special events (annual Halloween party) and pet adoptions. We are very fortunate to have this superior pet store in IB. read more

I come here to get my cats needs, food, litter, toys, etc. they don't have the variety that petco has or a rewards program, but I like supporting local business and the customer service is great. As soon as you walk in you're greeted and welcomed. Almost every employee asked if I needed help finding anything (not in an annoying way). I definitely recommend IB pet :) read more

This is the place to get your Pet needs. They carry a Ton of items and FREE DELIVERY ON ORDERS OVER $48. Sold me right there. Go to their Website, Order then the next thing you know items at your door. This Business is Family Owned and they care about you and your pets. Really, they know the product and want your business so give it to them. Any questions I have they know the answers not just what the package says. People who know what they are selling is a lost art. And they have all the Raw Pet Foods here. Look, you can get raw goat milk, Delivered. This place is the Standard all Pet Shops should be striving for. Service, Quality and Knowledge to give your Pets what they need, Love. read more

Always love coming in here and so does my pup Otis! He's always welcomed by scratches and belly rubs. Staff is super knowledgable, and I LOVE their selection of pre-made raw foods. They've got all the treats, toys, food, and grooming supplies you could imagine. Will definitely continue to visit here for all my puppy's needs! And highly recommended. read more

Nice little pet store. Great selection of natural, holistic and raw pet foods. Most of the stuff there seemed pretty good quality, including items and toys for dogs and cats. I receive emails from them that mention their deals and sale items. Nice friendly staff, most of which seemed pretty knowledgeable. Check them out! read more

We are Imperial Beach's Neighborhood Pet Supply Store. IB Pet specializes in high quality pet products. We carry San Diego's largest selection of raw frozen foods in addition to a huge selection of grain-free, allergenic formulas, and organic pet foods.

History

Established in 2009.

IB Pet opened for business in 2009. Lori started IB Pet to offer a locally owned option for high quality pet products. As our clientele grew we needed more space and in April 2010 we expanded to a beautiful 2000 sq/ft space in the Silver Stand Plaza. Come on in and check out IB Pet today!
