Bologna Pizza, Mortadella, mozzarella, arugula , and pistachio on top a focaccia crust. Amazing.
Kathy K.

This restaurant was great! Both the food and the service were top notch. I would highly recommend it. The chef was standing outside and was very welcoming and proud of his place. We had a mortadella pizza with Burrata and pistachios... amazing. We also had the classic lasagna bolognese with béchamel. There r a lot of cute little restaurants in this town but do not pass this one up!!!

The ambiance is amazing !!! The food was so authentic and delicious Totally would recommend

"Must try!! Best experience/ food we had our entire trip!!!" We had a group go try this restaurant, and let me just start by saying this place is legit. It's a bit off the beaten path for tourists like us, but we are so glad we all tried this place. It was walking distance from our hotel, and now knowing how good this, regardless of where we were staying we would have gone there. It is So worth it. From the moment we sat down to the second we left we had smiles on our face and a true great experience. Salvatore and his family could not have been nicer. When traveling you miss the feeling of "home/ family" and when we were here we just felt at home! They treated us as if we were family and we were getting a home cooked meal. Best experience and exactly what our group needed. Now the food!!! Everything we had was outstanding. We didn't know what to order (No english on menus) but asked for recommendations and were treated with incredible flavors and and all around amazing meals. Ever single one of us in the group was beyond happy about the food selection. The best pasta we had for our trip, and the pizza crust was just perfection. I'm wishing we had more time to go back and get this again. To Salvatore and the family, Grazie Mille. Incredible experience and food. We will 100% come back and recommend to everyone we know. -Scott & Zannah D

We tried the sausage pizza and templari calzon. The food was delicious! The service was great and the owner was very friendly! The ambiance was awesome. The art pieces and decorations in the resturant resonated. We recommend this resturant to everyone!

I Templari should be on everyone's list of places to eat when they visit Italy. The menu offers a wide variety of fabulous authentic Italian choices, and from the food to the wine, it is top quality. This is the only place that we ate at twice during our trip. We had the pizza, calzones, cacio de peppo, pici with boar ragu, along with red and white house wines. It was very reasonably priced. It is easy to get three entrees and wine for around $40. All of the staff are experts in hospitality. They were the most welcoming to us (and forgiving of my lack of Italian). We will definitely be back on our next trip!

Salsiccia pizza

This was our first meal in florence. Our host recommended this non touristy spot to us because of its cheap pizza. We had the bruschetta, tangiolini with truffle oil and porcini mushrooms, and a salsiccia pizza. The pasta was delicious, the sauce was indescribably good. We are only here for 3 days but we will be definitely be back again.

We would have eaten here every night quite frankly

Best pizza! Great wine! Friendly staff! Reasonable prices. A must-go place. Don't be misled by the slightly tacky decoration:)

With such simple ingredients, they were able to create such memorable and delicious dishes that we keep talking about long after the trip. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and even recognized us on our second night. We look forward to visiting them again someday!

Food here is fantastic!…read moreAll three items we ordered displayed restraint, flavor forward, and a continuous yearning for the next bite. Special highlight to the Artichoke Spaghetti. As we switched our plates back and forth, I kept looking forward to the next bite of this dish. This indicates that quality of this dish alone. Paired with the Pino Grigio, wow... combination hit all the notes. Service was exceptional. While we did come 1.5hours before closing and noticed the tires looked on the staffs, they were such a trooper and carried on as it was their mission. Such dedication to their craft is commendable. Interior is quaintly decorated with rustic charm. White table cloth service elevated this establishment quite well. Paired with great food, service, and charm... this is an exceptional restaurant. Great job team. You guys are amazing!

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The service was incredible, and the owner (I'm pretty sure it was the owner?) brought so much energy that he single-handedly turned the whole place into an eclectic little spot during the "rush hour" of the evening. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.
