I've been to I Noodle located in the KempsRiver Crossing shopping center three times now so I thought it was only right to finally write a review. The dining area is spacious, offering plenty of seating and dim lighting. On all three visits- two during dinner and one for lunch, we were seated and greeted right away. The menu is large, and I was a bit overwhelmed deciding what to try. During my visits I tried the following: Chicken feet with Black bean sauce, Taro Paste Buns, Pan fried Beef & Nappa Cabbage dumplings, Spicy Soy Garlic Chicken wings, Mongolian Beef, Hot Honey chicken wings, Scallion Pancake, Chicken Soup Dumplings, Short Ribs w/ Black Pepper Sauce, Crispy Birdie bites, and Sesame Chicken. Overall I've enjoyed my dining experience here; however, I have noticed inconsistency in the quality of some dishes. On my first visit the Spicy Soy Garlic Wings were extremely large and not well-breaded; however, during my second visit the Hot Honey chicken wings were normal size wings and cooked perfectly. Similarly, the chicken feet during my first visit seemed a little undercooked, but on the next two visits, they were just right. During our second visit we tried the short ribs and found them to be well-seasoned & tender; the included potatoes were also delightful. However, when we ordered the short ribs again during our third visit, the flavor profile was different and the sauce was oily. The Mongolian beef was also disappointing, as the ratio of onions to meat was so high that it felt more like an onion stir-fry than a beef dish. The Crispy Birdie bites, Scallion Pancakes, Chicken Soup Dumplings and Sesame Chicken were a 10/10 and I would 100% order them again. Now that they have obtained their liquor license, I look forward to returning to try their happy hour and a few other menu items. Ambiance is great, large nicely appointed place with lots of seating. Personalized place setting (paper napkin, melamine small plate... Server was very friendly and helpful in giving recommendation. They have dried chrysanthemum tea, complete with crystal sugar and it was a nice sized pot! I ordered: Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup (5 stars), salt and pepper squid (5 stars), sticky rice (4 stars just because the serving size is than typical but sticky rice was moist). We came in for lunch on the afternoon of 6/20/26. We were seated immediately as they weren't busy. One thing I noticed - their interior looks more impressive than their Newport News location. It's also bigger, but it looked like they were inspired my Wang Jiang Lou's interior. Regardless, it looks modern and inviting. I'd come in just to admire the architecture. Our server, Niyah, was nice. She was patient and helpful. There was a portion where we couldn't find her (drink refills; check up while eating main course), but overall Niyah was an excellent server. She's quiet but nice - I dig her vibe. The wings are a little salty. Cut down on the sodium and (Golden Original Chicken Wings) they're good to go.. House Special Fried Rice is solid. It was the best dish that we ordered. Good portion size, too. Noodle with Sesame Sauce lacked the ground pork that it was purported to have. And on the spice level, it was actually mild. This dish is fine, but does need more of the protein. Pork + Shrimp Shumai was fine, but a little rubbery. Same with the Shrimp + Scallop Crepe - the crepe portion was too tough to cut through with a just fork. I liked the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Roll. That was surprisingly not as salty as I expected. Been wanting to try them but they were full when we went there. So we came today for lunch. Obviously new, the place was so clean and well arranged. We were greeted by the host and waitress that were so calm and serene but knowledgeable and helpful with a smile. The order was quickly taken and brought in good time. All smells good and well presented. Teriyaki Chicken was hot, moist and soft to eat. Shrimp fried rice well seasoned and the beef noodles was perfectly delicious! All of it is delicious. I love their sesame balls for our dessert too. There were few lunch guest so we took our time. The staff was unhurried too and gave us enough time to reorder. Oh and I love my lavander latte. I really enjoy I Noodle. All the servers and staff are so sweet and accommodating, we've become regulars. The ambience is fantastic with overhead lighting for each table. There is also so much seating I feel like you would always be able to be seated. I believe this is the only place in the area that does chicken soup dumplings instead of pork which is a huge draw for me and why I keep coming back. Inoodle has a big menu with lots of favorite Asian cuisine options. The space is large enough to accommodate big parties. The staff was friendly and quick. We ordered several appetizers to see how the food was before ordering any main dishes. We had the cream cheese wontons, the scallion pancake and the soy garlic wings. All were fine but not amazing. I can see where other reviews say they wished things had more flavor. We did not end up ordering anything else. I like the environment of iNoodle, with its dim mood lighting, cute dishware, and kind service. The menu ranges from dim sum, noodles, sides, and other meat dishes that are easily shareable with the table. The tables can host larger parties for get-togethers with family or friends. My rating is based on quality of food - which I found to be alright. Presentation of the dishes were nice, but it was lacking a little in flavor. It was perhaps too subtle, I wanted more impact. I've never heard of this place before so from the sign I Noodle, I thought they serve only noodle dishes LOL! But upon entering I saw they were a full on restaurant. Beautiful space that's very spacious even for large groups. Their menu has all your Asian favorites like General Tao, dim sum, fried rice and more! As an Asian in Virginia Beach, I always get excited when new Asian restaurants open. It was such a fun experience to go and try their dim sum. Honestly, it is pretty good for Virginia Beach. The flavors could be a bit stronger if you have had really authentic dim sum, but for the area it is solid. I was genuinely impressed, especially since it is a smaller spot. I love seeing more Asian restaurants open here, and I would come back when I am craving dim sum. Our server Andrew was very kind and made the experience even better. I do think they may charge for tea refills, so I would recommend checking before ordering more. The pricing feels closer to what you would expect in bigger cities like New York or Los Angeles, and I am not sure it fully matches the food. That said, the place feels quite authentic and is still worth trying if you are in the area. read more

The service was amazing! The waiter was friendly and helpful. The bao was warm, fluffy and slightly sweet with delicious filling. I really wanted to like this place especially since they focus on dimsum and noodles but the food isn't good at all. They were either too salty or too bland. The dumplings on the wonton soup were so tiny and it was just not good. I really wish the food improves but since they're in a chain, I'm guessing it's based on recipes. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! The space was huge and it was really pretty. Service was good as well, the servers were nice and accomodating. I'm giving the stars to them! A great find, especially since they're open on Mondays and start serving an hour earlier than most dim sum spots in Virginia Beach. The interior is new, spacious, and very clean but a bit dimmed. While they don't use traditional push carts, the service is quick. The prices are fair, though portions are on the smaller side. The shrimp rice noodle crepe were smaller than I'm used to. We were disappointed they were out of the beef rice noodle crepe but the rest of the food was good. The chicken feet had a spicy kick! The leek dumplings could have been crispier. Came here for dinner with my husband since we were in the area. I love how dimly lit it was inside. It was very spacious too. It was only a few tables so they seated everyone in the same area, closer to the kitchen. They had so many yummy options to choose from. Since I was battling allergies I went with the spicy beef noodle soup. My husband got the Taiwan braised beef noodle soup, which our server said was an excellent choice because it is made with its own special broth. We got the salt & pepper fried chicken as an appetizer. It was ok, I think it could have used more seasoning/flavor but maybe it was my stuffiness. The food comes out super quick. I do think the meat in the soup could have been a little more tender. But it was still good. The fresh ingredients made it very tasty. Waited for the place to open so was excited to try the place out. Kevin was our waiter and he was super nice. Everything on the menu that we ordered was pretty good. I ordered the noodle with specialty sauce but held back on the spiciness. Not sure if doing that was smart because it seemed like it could use more sauce, but the flavor was really good and a good portion too. We ordered the calamari and it had a seasoned batter that was pretty good. Also had the beef with Napa cabbage and the chicken dumplings. Ordered the Taiwan Braised noodle soup and custard buns. My husband and daughter got the mango refresher while I got the honeydew. They said theirs was more on the sweet side, but I really liked mine. I actually had 2 experiences. The first was to eat-in at the restaurant. The food was great. Two of the dishes we had were Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, which were on normal sized skewers (about 10" long) with around 7-8 pieces of chicken on each skewer, there were 4 skewers and cost $9.95. Sichuan Dry Fried Green Beans, which filled the plate and was more than enough to share between me and my husband and cost $16.00. The third dish we ordered was Mongolian Chicken and cost $18.00. Everything was good. The second experience was take-out. We ordered the same dishes. However, this time the skewers were about 3" long and had around 3 pieces of chicken on each skewer, same price $9.95. The green bean serving was half the size of the one we were served in the restaurant, same price $16.00. The Mongolian Chicken was also half the serving size, same price $18.00. Needless to say, it was very disappointing! Won't go back. read more

Food is ok, but expensive for what you get. The dim sum does not compare to even other local dim sum establishments. The dumplings and sesame balls were comically small (pictured with hand for scale). I grew up going to dim sum with my family and ordering the dishes by their Chinese names as those restaurants did not have English menus. When I started ordering, the staff did not know the Chinese names of the dishes which is odd considering it has the Chinese name on the menu as well. The restaurant is also very dark. The vibe is cool, but it seems impractical and I would question the cleanliness if it weren't brand new because there were no observable bright lights to see to clean. I have tried it twice now. I will probably not be returning as I cannot justify choosing this over other truly local establishments. It's not objectively bad, it's just not for me. read more

My family and I went for lunch on a Friday at around 11:30. There were only two other parties there. First impression was that it was a lot larger on the inside than what it looks like from the outside. Decor was modern - which was surprising - but it was very dark. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was friendly. As this was our first time here, we needed a little bit of time to peruse the menu but we were able to order our drinks. My wife and I both ordered hot tea. She ordered Chrysanthemum tea and I ordered Jasmine tea. We were both pleasantly surprised not to see tea bags but instead the actual the flower buds being used. We knew before we got there that we wanted to try the dim sum so that's what we did. We ordered the following: Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice with Pork Filling - The picture on the menu is deceiving. You actually get three 3" x 2" little servings of the sticky rice and pork wrapped in a lotus leaf. Rice was nice and sticky with small bits of seasoned pork. It was good but not enough to order again. Pan fried Leek Dumplings - just as pictured. It was okay - but reminded me of something you can buy frozen at any Asian store. Steamed Pork Buns - nothing special - again tasted like something you can find at any Asian store. Pork & Vegetable Wontons in Spicy Sauce - so the first thing we noticed was that the presentation had us wondering why it looked like we were just given someone's leftovers. Again the wontons were just mediocre. The sauce was not spicy at all. Salt & Pepper Squid - DO NOT ORDER THIS! This had to be the most disappointing thing we ordered. It was more like Salt, Pepper & Cumin (heavy on the cumin). But that's not why I don't recommend this appetizer. I don't recommend it because for $14.95 you think you'd at least get a portion enough for two people to share. What we got was a portion that looked like it belonged on a kids menu (yes the picture I took is deceiving. We aren't people who eat huge portions but even by our standards - the portions were on the skimpy side. We ended up ordering a noodle dish because we were still hungry. The overall price could probably be justified if the quality of the food was better and didn't taste like something out of Enson's frozen aisle. Final verdict: we won't be coming back. The money we spent was wasted on small portions of mediocre food. I can spend less and get more of the same or even better quality from the Asian store next door. read more

At first glance the restaurant is super clean and the staff is so great and welcoming!! The food had a good variety of Asian cuisine that was delicious! The brown sugar milk tea was to die for !! The dimsum we got were chix feet was okay but not tender, steamed tripe was so SALTY that I have to add the vinegar on the table but made the taste bad, the spareribs was okay but salty, the shrimp noodles doesn't have the chewy texture on the noodles, siomai was not good either, and lastly the wanton soup the wanton has a very little meat inside. Very disappointing I was so excited and checked every time I was in that shopping center to see when it would open. I finally ordered for lunch today at work - to share; cuz well it's a new place and we are all foodies! I bought the pork & vegetable wonton soup $12, shallot oil noodle $9.50 and mandarin glazed spare ribs $16.00. When the door dasher gave me the cute, velcro closed bag - I was skeptical; it was pretty light; but I looked in and there where three items. The entire bag was lighter than a chicken wing and fried rice combo (ifkyk.) Okay, that is fine - let's check out the goods. Soup was on top, so I started there - full of wontons, hardly any broth - not my favorite ratio, but okay; now let's taste it - it tasted like someone added hot water to a left over bit of soup; then let too many wontons sit in it (they started to dissolve) w/two slices of scallion. The wonton filling was fine, nothing to write home about but decent. Okay - Ribs; they were riblets, not ribs - the portion size was tiny for $16.00 - okay, let's taste it - stringy, sweet (unbalanced,) not a pleasant taste nor texture - a pure waste of money. Okay; scallion noodle - let's hope it saves the day; I mean noodles + scallion oil, not a big deal (again small portion;) after flipping and mixing to get sauce coating the noodles, it was ALL soy, NO scallion flavor, on top were a meager maybe 10-15 small slices of scallion, that didn't really add any flavor. A couple pieces of vegetables for color and that was it. Service was good, our server wasn't much help in making our selections. For what we ordered it felt like we over paid. The restaurant is new so everything looked nice but the room was dark. Maybe that was the look they were looking for.
