My boyfriend and I come in for dinner on a Saturday night, the service was beyond awful. It was extremely crowded, as the tables aren't spaced out well. We got to our second plate before anyone brought out our drinks. I was paying for dinner since my boyfriend had previously paid for golf the day before, the waitress noticed I was paying. She then went out to loudly say "Oh! You made her pay!" with a laugh. As someone who have worked in customer service it was a very unprofessional statement. My family got together with some of my good friends for dinner. They suggested this location. It's a set price ( all you can eat ) Japanese/ Chinese Buffet. The food was constantly being restocked as we made our way down the buffet line. The deep fried scallops, the honey chicken and fried dumplings were amazing! The coconut shrimp was definitely the highlight of the Chinese buffet. The wait staff routinely refilled our drinks during our time there. They also offered the ice cream desert buffet. Me and my two friends came down to VA for a concert that had recently happened and on the way home we wanted some seafood and stopped here. The food was absolutely delicious and would love to be here again, tried so many new things and they were all good. The restaurant is a beautiful scene and has really nice vibes, the only problem was the customer service. The hostess hardly talked to us when seating us and seemed very flat toned, which she could've had a hard day, so no harm whatever. But as we were walking out we thanked both the hostess and our server for being helpful and neither of them said anything, and the hostess just sat on her phone up front. If that's what's you're going for the $24/pp may be worth it. My daughter only eats California rolls so it was not worth it for her. There weren't too many people in the restaurant, but it was a pretty good crowd. We were promptly seated and our drinks brought out to us. The buffet was stocked with sushi! I usually don't get sushi from a buffet. I don't trust it. But I heard good things about this restaurant and they did not disappoint! Very good and fresh! I fell COMPLETELY in love with the french fries, which is also something I don't usually get at a buffet lol. But they called to me continuously throughout the meal! I am writing because I am currently dining at the Yukai Swafood Buffet at 1952 Laskin Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23454 United States. While in the restroom with my daughter, I witnessed an employee wash her hands with black gloves on after using the toilet. She did not remove her gloves to wash her hands. She used soap and washed her hands with black gloves on for about 10 sec and quickly rinsed. We followed out the bathroom after her and she went back to work like nothing. When I went there with my friends family this past weekend it was not as good as I remember. Understandable it's an all you can eat self serve buffet but still. It had been 20 minutes since opening and the food was barely warm and tasted off but I'm not sure how to describe it. Could be my taste buds having changed since the last time I was there which was some years ago. I have gone to Yukai on and off for ten years so quite often. I am so happy so say when I went last week for a lunch date, they were over the top delicious and fresh. The sushi was full and fresh and the sashimi was delicious and fresh! Nothing makes my day then some sushi, and sushi made well and looking so enticing. I ate several different rolls and all were so perfect put together and beautifully made. I can't believe that an all you can eat sushi buffet has such delicious and very well made Maki rolls! I do like this concept of sushi buffet because sometimes the buffets where you order and they bring you the rolls can be overwhelming. Here there are delicious and beautifully made rolls and you can chose a bunch or just one piece so wastage is not an issue if you don't care for the taste of a certain roll. It's amazing how sashimi is also included in the lunch buffet! How wonderful! The salmon was my favorite that day, I was craving some salmon and definitely got my fill of it. I love the different sauces that are offered too. There is eel sauce, a wasabi cream sauce, a spicy Mayo, and several others that you can pour into a little sauce cup and dip all your rolls into. The soups are another favorite of mine and all were steaming hot and so fresh. Hot and sour and egg drop soups were savory and had beautiful ribbons of egg and fresh ingredients in them. I definitely had about three cups of soup and wanted more but wanted to save room for some of the kitchen entrees. The baked salmon fillet was delicious, it was a large baked salmon fillet that was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. There are so many hot dishes to choose from that range from Chinese to American. The Mongolian bbq is really a treat, with so many fresh ingredients you can choose from and are fried up right in front of you! Dessert for me is always a variety of fruit and the variety of ice cream bars!!! My favorite is the chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream bar and the ice cream cups. I'm still not over the price. $21 per person for dinner & lunch is only $15!! That is so crazy to me (in a good way)! They have a great selection of sushi & the sushi isn't bad either. They have a hibachi section, which I personally think is really good. There's also fried food, seafood & dessert. The food itself isn't too bad for the price you're paying for. It's a nice cheap dinner with anyone you go with. It gets packed pretty quick so try going at an earlier time if you plan on going. read more

Been here before with no issues but server was rude when I didn't get my drink and wants to go back and forth with me when I'm clearly the only one that doesn't have a drink in front of them at the table. Also, never used the bathroom but several members of my group said the men's bathroom was disgusting. So much so that they didn't want to eat any more. They questioned why we didn't tip when it's a buffet, and we served ourselves the mediocre food. 16 years ago, when my daughter was a newborn, Yukai was the new buffet in town. We had great times with our baby in the carrier on the table, with my now late Mom, so Yukai established a very good reputation and history with us 16 years ago. And we went frequently, for years, never disappointed. Not once. But then we moved way far away, to Norfolk. And we hadn't been to Yukai in YEARS.... So we went. Sunday, April 27, 2024. We had a party of 4, ages 55, 51, 16, and 15. In my reviews, I usually describe what each person got and what they thought. Being that Yukai is a buffet, Ill just sum our total experience. We all agreed it was great! We have been avoiding Asian buffets for a good long while now, after a STEEP DECLINE in quality and value and several other restaurants I won't mention. We've been gun-shy, but we were all so glad we went with our old tried and true Yukai. The food is absolutely fresh and hot and cooked like a menu item, not buffet. The sushi is good as it ever was. They had a new-to-us addition from last time, Dim Sum items on the buffet! Nice. We sampled just about every item there was, and it was all a hit. The grilled beef short ribs were amazing. My wife tore up the seafood. And their Tiramisu bites are still epic like we remember. All their other desserts might be MEH, but the Tiramisu absolutely slaps joy! The servers kept our drink refills full, never one delay or lag. Finished plates were very quickly removed so as to not build up and take space. They came to the table often, refilling our drinks and taking away empty plates, but like I said, they weren't exactly cheery about it. I tried the lo mein, coconut shrimp, crab rangoons, fried rice, and butterfly shrimp. I also tried some of the sushi. The lo mein, coconut shrimp, and butterfly shrimp were pretty good. The sushi was decent as well. The crab rangoons, though, were giving.... just rangoon. I didn't notice any crab. The fried rice tasted like regular white rice with vegetables. Not great. My sister got some sushi, fried rice and lo mein, crab rangoons, chicken skewers, sweet and sour chicken, bread, and beef ribs. She did not like the sushi. She felt the same about everything else that we both tried. She loved the bread but the ribs were not warm. We probably wont be back.
