Buffet is $25 per person for dinner. They have a variety of typical Asian buffet food items like crab Rangoon, chicken, soups, sushi, crab legs, oysters, and hibachi. Staff were very good and getting the plates off the table. I really enjoyed the pepper tuna the most, but towards the end around 8pm they did not refill some of the better food items. Overall it was a good experience with good staff and good food options for a buffet. The price was reasonable for what was offered, I would definitely come back again! The inside before you get sat is very spiritual feeling with the sound of the water from the pond. Our waitress was fast. She refilled my water and took up the empty plates as soon as it was done. The food was great! This buffet has the most sushi options in our area. If you are on Keto, there is sashimi and hibachi. read more

From the outside the place looks plain, almost industrial. But when you enter, there is a foyer that is lit with lights like a patio, with flowing fish pond to the right. The dining area looks spacious and clean. The service was friendly (greetings as you enter), you get seated right away. Wait staff is friendly and polite, they give you new set of chopsticks each time you go Back to buffet for more. I asked for tea, I was given a whole carafe! There's a variety of food - sushi, desserts, cooked foods, etc. Price is around $20 per person. Worth it for variety and value. read more

Standard Asian buffet that serves a wide variety of different Asian food including sushi, American Chinese food, dim sum, and more. There is a hibachi grill that will cook all your little ingredients so that was fun but it was also super packed the night that I went! Overall, the food is alright but you can't expect much quality from buffet. read more

My boyfriend and I come in for dinner on a Saturday night, the service was beyond awful. It was extremely crowded, as the tables aren't spaced out well. We got to our second plate before anyone brought out our drinks. I was paying for dinner since my boyfriend had previously paid for golf the day before, the waitress noticed I was paying. She then went out to loudly say "Oh! You made her pay!" with a laugh. As someone who have worked in customer service it was a very unprofessional statement. I will not be going back, nor do I suggest anyone else. Food wasn't worth it. read more

UK buffet is still our go to for all celebrations, including the times we celebrate ourselves! Even our foodie son from the West Coast was duly impressed with the quality of the sushi and the other offerings. The weekdays are great, but the weekends have a lot more to offer ( at a higher price, of course) including more Dim Sum selections. We especially love the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. The steamed flounder and salmon are spectacular. The sushi is fresh and they come up with unusual combination rolls. My wife especially liked the combo roll that had banana in it and another roll that had cooked salmon and eel. Finally, we love the desserts, especially the sesame balls, tiny cheesecakes and pineapple cakes. Yukai is one of the best values in Virginia Beach especially if you like sushi. They have a nice general selection of cooked Chinese food. The hibachi/Mongolian Grill can be done to order with a great selection of sauces and proteins. We always found the staff to be friendly and efficient. read more

Food was cold and old, the sushi had a very funky taste and texture to it, the hibachi grill looked absolutely disgusting, and the items for it, you could just tell they have been sitting there for AWHILE. Some foods were good but not very many. Tried to talk to management and they didn't really care, but our waitress was super nice. Very nice place, but could use a REALLY good scrub and some fresher food. read more

My family got together with some of my good friends for dinner. They suggested this location. It's a set price ( all you can eat ) Japanese/ Chinese Buffet. The food was constantly being restocked as we made our way down the buffet line. The deep fried scallops, the honey chicken and fried dumplings were amazing! The coconut shrimp was definitely the highlight of the Chinese buffet. The wait staff routinely refilled our drinks during our time there. They also offered the ice cream desert buffet. I just wish I had saved some room for that. I really liked the set price aspect of this location. I am sure we will be returning in the future. read more

So impressed with the options! And at such a good deal. Less than $15 for lunch and it's so easy to eat your moneys worth. Great sushi and cooked options. Even some dim sum which was my favorite. Dessert was delicious! Will definitely be coming back. Place is very clean, cute and service was very friendly and welcoming. read more

if I could give them a zero star, I would. This place was terrible!!!!! everything about it was absolutely disappointing. Came here based off of the 3.5 star review they HAD just to experience OLD, SOGGY, DISTASTEFUL FOOD. The fried sushi options were soggy. Raw tuna was sitting out without ice. they were throwing fresh food on top of old food. You can see based off the pictures dried food on the spoons. Serving spoons just sitting in food. The raw bar was just pitiful. there was not a variety of food. there was one kind of rice as shown in a picture. very few veggie options. I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS!! THE CHERRY IN TOP, they had no fried chicken!!!! i've never been to a buffet that had no Chinese fried chicken!!!! they said it was only served on Fridays. Imagine paying $21 to eat "buffet" to have half of a selection of food. this is by far my worst "buffet" experience EVER!! When I told the manager about my disliking of the food and service, she proceeded to tell me that I was the only one complaining! I found out to be very disrespectful as I had paid an abundance of money for me and my family to celebrate and eat. This was around Mid afternoon when food should've been fresh! it wasn't until I began taking pictures and complaining that they began to stir the food. we stayed all of 10 minutes ! I SWEAR before we ask to speak to a manager. I was more upset myself for even picking up the food without looking. The manager continue to charge us full price (-8 dollars for a "discount"). this was the most horrendous experience ever, and I hope no one ever eats here!!!!! read more

Me and my two friends came down to VA for a concert that had recently happened and on the way home we wanted some seafood and stopped here. The food was absolutely delicious and would love to be here again, tried so many new things and they were all good. The restaurant is a beautiful scene and has really nice vibes, the only problem was the customer service. The hostess hardly talked to us when seating us and seemed very flat toned, which she could've had a hard day, so no harm whatever. But as we were walking out we thanked both the hostess and our server for being helpful and neither of them said anything, and the hostess just sat on her phone up front. Me and my friends didn't let them ruin our last day in VA and it was still delicious food, other than that the restaurant just needs a little bit better customer service. read more

First time going today. Very disappointing. Food was cold and very slowly replenished. Flounder and salmon had scraps and was not refilled entire visit. Crab legs were empty upon arrival and never replenished. Asked if they were going to be refilled anytime soon a and the kitchen guy said 'wait' rudely. This was while I was getting 2 nd plate. They had none the entire time. Felt they were trying to be stingy w them as they are a pricey item. Will never go back! Wasted money! $50. For 2 people Plus tip. Having said all that server was nice. read more

I used to frequent this place pre Covid and I must say the prices have went up drastically but the quality of the food is not the same. My daughter and I went on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately. Everything I tried on the hot bar was cold. The hibachi was good though. They have a huge sushi selection which was really good. If that's what's you're going for the $24/pp may be worth it. My daughter only eats California rolls so it was not worth it for her. Also if you're using the military discount it's not off the entire bill it's only for the person with the ID. No biggie just thought I'd mention that. All in all, not sure if I'd go back, but like I said if you like sushi this would be the place for you. read more

Nice selection of sushi, grilled fish, Chinese buffet food, hibachi grill and dessert options. I loved everything I had. The highlight for me was the mountains of eel sushi and bonanza of dumplings. The restaurant offers military discount and the service by the ladies are efficient. I just wished customers wouldn't cough right into the food stands. Wouldn't mind visiting again when I am back in town. read more

Probably top ten worst restaurants i've ever eaten at! you could pay me a million dollars to eat the food again. It was so bad i took my plate of food and balled it up in a napkin and put it in the near by plant and it is still sitting there. Food is amazing. The price is very reasonable for the amount of varieties you get. They have sushi, hibachi, chicken options, desserts, pho soup, a bit of seafood, and other options. Every time we have gone the service is always great! The waitresses are great and quick. The restaurant isn't fancy or anything but it has a nice vibe to it. Overall clean and welcoming restaurant. So much better than captain George's that is next door and charge twice the amount for food that is not good. Save your money and visit YUKAI! read more

Love Yukai!!!! One of our favorite sushi spots! I'm usually not a fan of buffets, they remind me of feeding troughs and the food sits out too long. Not at Yukai, the replaced the items often but usually don't have to, it's always busy and always fresh items being rotated in! They have a hot food side also but I've never been over there. read more

I visited Yukai Byuffe for a Sunday dinner date. The restaurant looked like any other buffet. The usual pond with Koi fish swimming around. There weren't too many people in the restaurant, but it was a pretty good crowd. We were promptly seated and our drinks brought out to us. The buffet was stocked with sushi! I usually don't get sushi from a buffet. I don't trust it. But I heard good things about this restaurant and they did not disappoint! Very good and fresh! I fell COMPLETELY in love with the french fries, which is also something I don't usually get at a buffet lol. But they called to me continuously throughout the meal! The milk buns were AMAZING as well, and and the almond flavored cookies! It took such willpower to not pack some cookies in a napkin to take home I will definitely be returning, this is my favorite Chinese buffet! read more

If we don't feel like cooking and want a quick and delicious option, this is where we come. The staff here is always so kind and friendly. They are so good with kids. I have never had a bad experience here. The food hits the spot. There's plenty of options and they are delicious. You can even get pho and other meals made to order. The Korean short ribs are my favorite. I only gave this place 4 stars because sometimes food runs out and it takes a while for refills and the fruit is normally not the freshest or the best. read more

I can't speak on behalf of the sushi because I don't eat it. However everything else was very overcooked and dried out. The staff there is fake nice and actually quite rude. Men's bathroom was pretty gross. Overall I wouldn't recommend. read more

I am writing because I am currently dining at the Yukai Swafood Buffet at 1952 Laskin Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23454 United States. While in the restroom with my daughter, I witnessed an employee wash her hands with black gloves on after using the toilet. She did not remove her gloves to wash her hands. She used soap and washed her hands with black gloves on for about 10 sec and quickly rinsed. We followed out the bathroom after her and she went back to work like nothing. I am very concerned for the safety of all who dine at this restaurant. read more

Not dog friendly even though it says so online. Wait times are over 1hr but they keep saying 20-30min wait each time

I have gone to Yukai on and off for ten years so quite often. I am so happy so say when I went last week for a lunch date, they were over the top delicious and fresh. The sushi was full and fresh and the sashimi was delicious and fresh! Nothing makes my day then some sushi, and sushi made well and looking so enticing. I ate several different rolls and all were so perfect put together and beautifully made. I can't believe that an all you can eat sushi buffet has such delicious and very well made Maki rolls! I do like this concept of sushi buffet because sometimes the buffets where you order and they bring you the rolls can be overwhelming. Here there are delicious and beautifully made rolls and you can chose a bunch or just one piece so wastage is not an issue if you don't care for the taste of a certain roll. It's amazing how sashimi is also included in the lunch buffet! How wonderful! The salmon was my favorite that day, I was craving some salmon and definitely got my fill of it. I love the different sauces that are offered too. There is eel sauce, a wasabi cream sauce, a spicy Mayo, and several others that you can pour into a little sauce cup and dip all your rolls into. The soups are another favorite of mine and all were steaming hot and so fresh. Hot and sour and egg drop soups were savory and had beautiful ribbons of egg and fresh ingredients in them. I definitely had about three cups of soup and wanted more but wanted to save room for some of the kitchen entrees. The baked salmon fillet was delicious, it was a large baked salmon fillet that was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. There are so many hot dishes to choose from that range from Chinese to American. The Mongolian bbq is really a treat, with so many fresh ingredients you can choose from and are fried up right in front of you! Dessert for me is always a variety of fruit and the variety of ice cream bars!!! My favorite is the chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream bar and the ice cream cups. I really love Yukai and if you are thinking of coming here, just do yourself a favor and come! You will definitely love it and so will family and friends! read more

Had to say that I was very impressed when I came into Yukai buffet from the decor when we walked in in the friendliness when we were greeted by staff. The food presentation is spectacular. It makes your mouth water as soon as you see it there's a wide variety of food from sushi eggrolls, fried rice, oysters, to crab, and many more for you to enjoy. often times people will say that a Buffay doesn't have high-quality food, where that may be true in most cases, this place does a very good job of making the food look and taste amazing if you're on a date or you have a large group of people. This is a great place to go to the bathroom is a clean. read more

When I went there with my friends family this past weekend it was not as good as I remember. Understandable it's an all you can eat self serve buffet but still. It had been 20 minutes since opening and the food was barely warm and tasted off but I'm not sure how to describe it. Could be my taste buds having changed since the last time I was there which was some years ago. As for the service, it was as expected as the waitress was nice and kept up with filling our drinks and taking away plates. Other than that the restaurant was pretty much how I remembered it. read more

I'm still not over the price. $21 per person for dinner & lunch is only $15!! That is so crazy to me (in a good way)! They have a great selection of sushi & the sushi isn't bad either. They have a hibachi section, which I personally think is really good. There's also fried food, seafood & dessert. The food itself isn't too bad for the price you're paying for. It's a nice cheap dinner with anyone you go with. It gets packed pretty quick so try going at an earlier time if you plan on going. read more

Amazing variety of seafood and sushi that was fresh and tasty - all at a great price value

16 years ago, when my daughter was a newborn, Yukai was the new buffet in town. We had great times with our baby in the carrier on the table, with my now late Mom, so Yukai established a very good reputation and history with us 16 years ago. And we went frequently, for years, never disappointed. Not once. But then we moved way far away, to Norfolk. And we hadn't been to Yukai in YEARS.... So we went. Sunday, April 27, 2024. We had a party of 4, ages 55, 51, 16, and 15. In my reviews, I usually describe what each person got and what they thought. Being that Yukai is a buffet, Ill just sum our total experience. We all agreed it was great! We have been avoiding Asian buffets for a good long while now, after a STEEP DECLINE in quality and value and several other restaurants I won't mention. We've been gun-shy, but we were all so glad we went with our old tried and true Yukai. The food is absolutely fresh and hot and cooked like a menu item, not buffet. The sushi is good as it ever was. They had a new-to-us addition from last time, Dim Sum items on the buffet! Nice. We sampled just about every item there was, and it was all a hit. The grilled beef short ribs were amazing. My wife tore up the seafood. And their Tiramisu bites are still epic like we remember. All their other desserts might be MEH, but the Tiramisu absolutely slaps joy! The servers kept our drink refills full, never one delay or lag. Finished plates were very quickly removed so as to not build up and take space. It's still a very well oiled machine and buffet operation, I'm very glad to report. read more

Brett very good service Happy wife happy life Food delicious!!Taste delicious Thank oh Brett

Not bad for a buffet. Wide selection of sushi, Japanese and Chinese food, hibachi, fish and shellfish, and desserts. The food is alright when it comes to taste but some of the items were not the correct temperature. However, the food is quickly replenished once depleted. The service isn't the best. Most of the staff you could tell they didn't want to be there. I get that - I don't like working either - but I don't like feeling bad for eating at a restaurant. They came to the table often, refilling our drinks and taking away empty plates, but like I said, they weren't exactly cheery about it. I tried the lo mein, coconut shrimp, crab rangoons, fried rice, and butterfly shrimp. I also tried some of the sushi. The lo mein, coconut shrimp, and butterfly shrimp were pretty good. The sushi was decent as well. The crab rangoons, though, were giving.... just rangoon. I didn't notice any crab. The fried rice tasted like regular white rice with vegetables. Not great. My sister got some sushi, fried rice and lo mein, crab rangoons, chicken skewers, sweet and sour chicken, bread, and beef ribs. She did not like the sushi. She felt the same about everything else that we both tried. She loved the bread but the ribs were not warm. We probably wont be back. I can't seem to find an Asian buffet-style restaurant that impresses me in the area. Oh well! The search continues. read more

Went here recently with a large group. Been here before with no issues but server was rude when I didn't get my drink and wants to go back and forth with me when I'm clearly the only one that doesn't have a drink in front of them at the table. Also, never used the bathroom but several members of my group said the men's bathroom was disgusting. So much so that they didn't want to eat any more. The food was very average even for buffet standards, and the prices are ridiculously high for how low the quality is. They questioned why we didn't tip when it's a buffet, and we served ourselves the mediocre food.
