On July 16th, 2025, I met up some friends to check out this spot. Sushi Vice is kind of the sushi spot du jour - it seemed as if everyone was talking about it. Being a sushi fan, I was excited to check them out. When I arrived, Tina and Nita were already sitting at the bar. We were greeted and served by Ivy - she was friendly and informative, and worked quickly. Sushi Vice is a small venue, but they have outdoor seating. Its interior looks spiffy, though, and everything was clean and organized. The three of us ordered and shared the following: Back to the Fried Rice - not bad (something was up with the rice - they may have used brand new rice, not day old rice); not much beef, though The Buster - good, but I personally could go without the cream cheese E.T. Edamame - being anti-edamame, this is the one item I didn't try (haha) The Goonie - nice combo of tuna & shrimp tempura The Jack Burton - this is a memorable roll Saynoelmore Roll - pineapple is a nice refreshing touch Spicy Tuna Roll - not bad The Sunny D Roll - solid combo of shrimp tempura & salmon Terminator Tataki - this was fantastic As you can tell, Sushi Vice subscribes to a movie/TV-themed esthetic. The name Sushi Vice alludes to the 80s NBC television series Miami Vice. Being a film geek, this is a fun approach. I also ordered some nigiri, mainly because I was very hungry that evening, but partially because their rolls are a little small. Since their price points are high, small rolls are a drawback, but Sushi Vice's food is tasty. Vice offers specialty drinks, which (I believe) Tina had one. I kept things simple with a bottled beer or two. I just wanted to pig out on sushi. Overall, I think Sushi Vice is good, but not great. Their focus is on rolls, whereas I slightly prefer the simplicity of the fish and rice. That means the nigiri was a make or break aspect. So although their nigiri is solid, it's not outstanding. This, combined with the small rolls, means this isn't (for me) a first-choice sushi spot. Sushi Vice is perfect to show off to out-of-town friends, though, and their service will carry them far. Thank you, Sushi Vice! JV
Very good. Get there when they open in the afternoon bc it will def get busy. I loved all 3 roles we got and the drink was great too. But the edamame was bomb. Never had it with a sauce like that.
So I was staying at a little hotel on the beach and I decided to be lazy and just order from DoorDash. That was my mistake. DoorDash is so expensive and a complete rip off. That being said, I ordered from Sushi Vice. I'm not hating it. Before I placed my order with DoorDash, I actually called the restaurant and requested that they include cups of soy sauce and chopsticks, etc., because I was staying in the hotel. I only did this because if you order off DoorDash's menu, you cannot include Notes to the restaurant. It's ridiculous. With all that being said, I could not believe it when my order arrived it was exactly as I requested. It's not really a sushi joint. It's more of an Asian fusion type place and they have a very limited menu, but what they do have is very, very good. I highly recommend trying that beef fried rice thing. I've included a picture of it. It was freaking awesome. You won't be disappointed, but I would strongly suggest going to the restaurant and you'll probably even have a better meal. The next time I'm in Virginia Beach, which is quite often I'll probably just drop in to the restaurant myself.
Always wanted to try their sushi back when this was a food truck called Vang's Sushi, stalking their IG page and drooling over all the sushi they were featuring, but the timing was never right, especially when they were at CoVa Brewery which is close to me. Once I found out they had a brick & mortar place, my chances of going got better and I have had the pleasure of dining there twice now. Once on 12/04/24 and then most recently on 03/12/2025 and both times were just fantastic. We started with their E.T. Edamame both times and their house sauce and toppings they put on it is just so delicious I wanted to take what was leftover in the bowl and take it home lol if they sold that by the bottle I totally be for it! We sushi rolls we had were: Saynoelmore TigerBomb Marty McFly Blood Moon Golden Child These were all so good, its so hard to pick a favorite. Though the first three I would so get again for sure! Service was fast, awesome and so nice and makes eating there a true joy! I look forward to coming here again again and again!
The vibes are great, the people work there are cool, and the location walkable. The food was okayish. I ordered cuc salad and poison ivy roll. The portions were so tiny compared to the price. It's more of a tourist spot than for the locals.
The place is quaint and you can tell the locals frequent this place. The items we ordered were tasty and visually appealing. The drinks were also pretty . That said, I will say the sushi here is more like a beginner/entry level when it comes to being . Not a lot of raw items and most of the rolls are fried shrimp tempura based. It's more like gentrified sushi to me. As long as you aren't a die hard Japanese sushi/sashimi cuisine connoisseur, it is a great hang out with friends type of place or if you are just learning to enjoy sushi. The whole 80's theme is great and I loved the different names they use for their drinks and rolls. The surprise highlight of all the items we ordered was the edamame app. I normally eat the edamame pods with some salt, but they add a sambal based house sauce that makes for a nice twist. Our server at the bar was also the bartender and she was very attentive and friendly. There is limited street parking, but a parking garage about a block away.
This is the perfect addition to Virginia Beach! The sushi was great. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was fun! They have a great patio to sit outside and a nice bar and table inside! They were very busy when we went there, so our waitress gave us sake on the house as a thank you for being patient! That felt like above and beyond service in this day and age! The sushi was great, and very reasonably priced! They were very cognizant of allergies at the table, which was greatly appreciated. I will be going back!
What a fun and cute place to hang out at the beach and enjoy some good sushi! Service was great, everyone seemed to care about whether we were enjoying ourselves. The menu's theme is based on 80's movies. Their most popular roll was tiger bomb which was very tasty. Great atmosphere, good service and great sushi... couldn't ask for more.
Stop what you are doing and stop in or find the truck on wheels and get some sushi! We haven't seen the truck in a while but came across it at a local brewery today and so glad we did! We got the chefs choice roll (they had already closed but said, we got you- it's the trust me roll) and it did not disappoint.
The sushi is sooo good!! Every roll I've tried has been fresh and delicious! Also love the fried rice. The Bento box is perfect for 2 for lunch. The prices are great. I live close so often place orders to go in the evening since it can get busy, but I love eating there... inside and out. Love the bright interior and chill vibe. The staff is always super friendly and attentive! Definitely recommend!
Fresh sushi, tuna tataki & octopus! It was such a nice evening, we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the weather. The crowds were out in full force because of the summery weather. It's a nice atmosphere but can get quite loud and noisy with the traffic blaring their radios. The service was fast and friendly!! Highly recommend this place for the location, the service and the fare!!!
What a cute little sushi spot! This was right by my hotel and I was craving sushi so I gave it a shot. The edamame was hands-down the best edamame I've had! The sushi portions are not massive, which I enjoyed because I could try a few. Very fresh! Loved the vibe!
First time here, and I was expecting a little bit more, especially with all the reviews and hype around this place. Sushi Vice has a retro beach vibe to it. The dining area inside is small, but it can still accommodate maybe one big group. There's also outdoor seating available. We came for an early dinner on a weekday, and it started getting busy pretty quickly. They were able to accommodate our large party inside since we had little kids with us, though we did have to split into two tables. Since we had small kids, the menu doesn't really cater much to them aside from the fried rice, but they were able to make a non-spicy version upon request. FOOD REVIEW Cool Runnings Cuc Salad 4/5 Back to the Fried Rice 4/5 Uncle Buck Crudo 3.5/5 Caddy Shack Crudo 3.5/5 Edamame 4/5 New Jack Nigiri 4/5 Scarface Sashimi 4/5 Cobra Kai 3.5/5 Jack Burton 3.5/5 Marty McFly Roll 3.5/5 Poison Ivy Roll 3.5/5 Sunny D Roll 3.5/5 The sashimi and cold plates were good, and the rolls were decent. I did expect the food to be a bit larger for the price and portion size, so that was a little disappointing. The kids, however, enjoyed the fried rice, and you really can't go wrong with the drinks. Our tab came out to a little over $340. Overall, this place was just okay for us. read more

Sushi Vice's Uncle Buck is the sort of crudo that reminds us how little a great kitchen needs to do when it knows precisely what it is doing. The fish and its sauce exist in perfect equilibrium: neither competing for attention, neither surrendering to the other. It is a remarkable balancing act--delicate without timidity, assertive without excess. The result is not merely a fine crudo, but a dish of uncommon culinary intelligence. A quiet argument for a Michelin star. read more

WOW. This place has the best atmosphere and customer service hands down! Asked for a chefs choice and it was so unreal! Every single piece was insanely fresh, beautifully crafted, and packed with flavor. You can really tell how much skill and passion goes into what they do--each bite was better than the last. It was such an exciting, trust-the-chef experience and totally worth it. Hands down one of the best sushi meals I've had. I'm already dreaming about going back! read more
Strolled in at night for some legit sushi that was highly recommended by a bunch of friends of mine. I love the theme of the rolls and mixed drinks. Terminator Tataki was to die for! So delicious! Cobra Kai was by far my favorite roll! Service was top notch, highly recommend this place. Looking forward to next time so can definitely try something new that I'm sure that will make my tastebuds go wild! read more

Vibes were vibing but the food portion was not. The flavor of the sauces were good but the salmon quality was not of my standard. Portion per piece for the sushi was so tiny! their basic rolls and specialties were the same size or maybe just a tad bigger. Portion to price ratio is not worth the bite! Fiancé was looking forward to this place but said their sushi was the same size as a quarter lol. Service was good though. read more

This is the newest sushi restaurant at the oceanfront and it is not your ordinary sushi restaurant. It's fun, lively and crowded (in a good way)and not boring. Indoor and outdoor seating, a bar and about 6 tables. We ordered the New Jack Nigeri which came with 2 pieces of tuna and 2 pieces of salmon. Very fresh! I ordered the Miami Vice (crab, cucumber, tuna, avocado and other delicious ingredients) and the Tiger Bomb (tuna, avocado, spicy crab salad and other fresh, delicious ingredients) My husband stuck with the basic rolls....spicy tuna, spicy salmon. It was all so good and fresh! I am definitely going back! Staff was slammed but still friendly and attentive. Brie was our waitress and was wonderful. It's oceanfront so most likely you will have to park in the garage across the street. It's free and an easy walk. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for a while! I came in last night and my bartender was Alex. The drinks she made were so tasty and refreshing and she picked up on the fact that I preferred a more silent service which I appreciated. I ordered the pretty woman and a plum sake. Both delightful and sweet. The sushi rolls I tried were the Miami Vice and Marty Mcfly. While I was disappointed in the size and quality of the sushi rolls the flavors made up for it. The Marty Mcfly knocked my socks off, it had the perfect blend of sweet and tangy sauces. Highly recommend. I was also impressed by the fact that even thought the restaurant was packed the service time was still quick! I loved the low lighting and skater vibe the restaurant had. It made it super cozy to hang out! read more

The food was super good. The rolls are super simple. They have some specialty rolls as well. The rolls are a little smaller than other sushi restaurants, but it didn't affect the food at all. Our waitress was really nice and super nice and super accommodating. We were able to get some cocktails without alcohol and get an item remade. They were so kind. It's such a cute place. They have outdoor seating which was looked super cute. It's super laid back and chill. I totally recommend sushi vice. read more
